Two 2D covalent organic frameworks (COFs) linked by vinylene (?CH=CH?) groups (V‐COF‐1 and V‐COF‐2) are synthesized by exploiting the electron deficient nature of the aromatic s‐triazine unit of C3‐symmetric 2,4,6‐trimethyl‐s‐triazine (TMT). The acidic terminal methyl hydrogens of TMT can easily be abstracted by a base, resulting in a stabilized carbanion, which further undergoes aldol condensation with multitopic aryl aldehydes to be reticulated into extended crystalline frameworks (V‐COFs). Both V‐COF‐1 (with terepthalaldehyde (TA)) and V‐COF‐2 (with 1,3,5‐tris(p‐formylphenyl)benzene (TFPB)) are polycrystalline and exhibit permanent porosity and BET surface areas of 1341 m2 g?1 and 627 m2 g?1, respectively. Owing to the close proximity (3.52 Å) of the pre‐organized vinylene linkages within adjacent 2D layers stacked in eclipsed fashion, [2+2] photo‐cycloadditon in V‐COF‐1 formed covalent crosslinks between the COF layers.  相似文献

Poor mechanical stability of the polymer electrolyte membranes remains one of the bottlenecks towards improving the performance of the proton exchange membrane (PEM) fuel cells. The present work proposes a unique way to utilize crystalline covalent organic frameworks (COFs) as a self‐standing, highly flexible membrane to further boost the mechanical stability of the material without compromising its innate structural characteristics. The as‐synthesized p‐toluene sulfonic acid loaded COF membranes (COFMs) show the highest proton conductivity (as high as 7.8×10−2 S cm−1) amongst all crystalline porous organic polymeric materials reported to date, and were tested under real PEM operating conditions to ascertain their practical utilization as proton exchange membranes. Attainment of 24 mW cm−2 power density, which is the highest among COFs and MOFs, highlights the possibility of using a COF membrane over the other state‐of‐the‐art crystalline porous polymeric materials reported to date.  相似文献

Covalent organic frameworks (COFs) have garnered immense scientific interest among porous materials because of their structural tunability and diverse properties. However, the response of such materials toward laser‐induced nonlinear optical (NLO) applications is hardly understood and demands prompt attention. Three novel regioregular porphyrin (Por)‐based porous COFs—Por‐COF‐HH and its dual metalated congeners Por‐COF‐ZnCu and Por‐COF‐ZnNi—have been prepared and present excellent NLO properties. Notably, intensity‐dependent NLO switching behavior was observed for these Por‐COFs, which is highly desirable for optical switching and optical limiting devices. Moreover, the efficient π‐conjugation and charge‐transfer transition in ZnCu‐Por‐COF enabled a high nonlinear absorption coefficient (β=4470 cm/GW) and figure of merit (FOM=σ1o, 3565) value compared to other state‐of‐the‐art materials, including molecular porphyrins (β≈100–400 cm/GW), metal–organic frameworks (MOFs; β≈0.3–0.5 cm/GW), and graphene (β=900 cm/GW).  相似文献

The construction of 2D and 3D covalent organic frameworks (COFs) from functional moieties for desired properties has gained much attention. However, the influence of COFs dimensionality on their functionalities, which can further assist in COF design, has never been explored. Now, by selecting designed precursors and topology diagrams, 2D and 3D porphyrinic COFs (2D‐PdPor‐COF and 3D‐PdPor‐COF) are synthesized. By model building and Rietveld refinement of powder X‐ray diffraction, 2D‐PdPor‐COF crystallizes as 2D sheets while 3D‐PdPor‐COF adopts a five‐fold interpenetrated pts topology. Interestingly, compared with 2D‐PdPor‐COF, 3D‐PdPor‐COF showed interesting properties, including 1) higher CO2 adsorption capacity; 2) better photocatalytic performance; and 3) size‐selective photocatalysis. Based on this study, we believe that with the incorporation of functional moieties, the dimensionality of COFs can definitely influence their functionalities.  相似文献

The construction of stable covalent organic frameworks (COFs) for various applications is highly desirable. Herein, we report the synthesis of a novel two‐dimensional (2D) porphyrin‐based sp2 carbon‐conjugated COF (Por‐sp2c‐COF), which adopts an eclipsed AA stacking structure with a Brunauer—Emmett—Teller surface area of 689 m2 g?1. Owing to the C=C linkages, Por‐sp2c‐COF shows a high chemical stability under various conditions, even under harsh conditions such as 9 m HCl and 9 m NaOH solutions. Interestingly, Por‐sp2c‐COF can be used as a metal‐free heterogeneous photocatalyst for the visible‐light‐induced aerobic oxidation of amines to imines. More importantly, in comparison to imine‐linked Por‐COF, the inherent structure of Por‐sp2c‐COF equips it with several advantages as a photocatalyst, including reusability and high photocatalytic performance. This clearly demonstrates that sp2 carbon‐linked 2D COFs can provide an interesting platform for heterogeneous photocatalysis.  相似文献

Crystalline and porous covalent organic frameworks (COFs) and metal‐organic frameworks (MOFs) materials have attracted enormous attention in the field of photocatalytic H2 evolution due to their long‐range order structures, large surface areas, outstanding visible light absorbance, and tunable band gaps. In this work, we successfully integrated two‐dimensional (2D) COF with stable MOF. By covalently anchoring NH2‐UiO‐66 onto the surface of TpPa‐1‐COF, a new type of MOF/COF hybrid materials with high surface area, porous framework, and high crystallinity was synthesized. The resulting hierarchical porous hybrid materials show efficient photocatalytic H2 evolution under visible light irradiation. Especially, NH2‐UiO‐66/TpPa‐1‐COF (4:6) exhibits the maximum photocatalytic H2 evolution rate of 23.41 mmol g?1 h?1 (with the TOF of 402.36 h?1), which is approximately 20 times higher than that of the parent TpPa‐1‐COF and the best performance photocatalyst for H2 evolution among various MOF‐ and COF‐based photocatalysts.  相似文献

Covalent organic frameworks (COFs) with 2D π‐conjugation were designed and synthesized as molecular photosensitizers for efficient photodynamic therapy. Two molecules, 5′,5′′′′‐(1,4‐phenylene)bis(([1,1′:3′,1′′‐terphenyl]‐4,4′′‐dicarbaldehyde)) (L‐3C) and 4,4′,4′′‐(1,4‐phenylene)bis(([2,2′:6′,2′′‐terpyridine]‐5,5′′‐dicarbaldehyde)) (L‐3N), inactive to generating reactive oxygen species (ROS), were linked to form two COFs, COF‐808 and COF‐909, respectively, exhibiting excellent ROS production efficiency. The high permanent porosity of these COFs (surface areas 2270 and 2610 m2 g?1) promoted diffusion of both oxygen and release of ROS in cells. This, combined with the excellent photostability and biocompatibility, led to excellent PDT performance. In vitro, over 80 % of tumor cells were killed after PDT treatment using COF‐909 at the concentration of 50 μg mL?1 for 150 s. In vivo, drastic reduction of tumor size was observed (from 9 mm to less than 1 mm) after 10 day treatment.  相似文献

Covalent organic frameworks (COFs) have attracted attention due to their ordered pores leading to important industrial applications like storage and separation. Combined with their modular synthesis and pore engineering, COFs could become ideal candidates for nanoseparations. However, the fabrication of these microcrystalline powders as continuous, crack‐free, robust films remains a challenge. Herein, we report a simple, slow annealing strategy to construct centimeter‐scale COF films ( Tp‐Azo and Tp‐TTA ) with micrometer thickness. The as‐synthesized films are porous (SABET=2033 m2 g?1 for Tp‐Azo ) and chemically stable. These COFs have distinct size cut‐offs (ca. 2.7 and ca. 1.6 nm for Tp‐Azo and Tp‐TTA , respectively), which allow the size‐selective separation of gold nanoparticles. Unlike, other conventional membranes, the durable structure of the COF films allow for excellent recyclability (up to 4 consecutive cycles) and easy recovery of the gold nanoparticles from the solution.  相似文献

Two-dimensional covalent organic frameworks (2D COFs) are often employed for electrocatalytic systems because of their structural diversity. However, the efficiency of atom utilization is still in need of improvement, because the catalytic centers are located in the basal layers and it is difficult for the electrolytes to access them. Herein, we demonstrate the use of 1D COFs for the 2e oxygen reduction reaction (ORR). The use of different four-connectivity blocks resulted in the prepared 1D COFs displaying good crystallinity, high surface areas, and excellent chemical stability. The more exposed catalytic sites resulted in the 1D COFs showing large electrochemically active surface areas, 4.8-fold of that of a control 2D COF, and thus enabled catalysis of the ORR with a higher H2O2 selectivity of 85.8 % and activity, with a TOF value of 0.051 s−1 at 0.2 V, than a 2D COF (72.9 % and 0.032 s−1). This work paves the way for the development of COFs with low dimensions for electrocatalysis.  相似文献

Covalent‐Organic Frameworks (COFs) are a new family of 2D and 3D highly porous and crystalline materials built of light elements, such as boron, oxygen and carbon. For all 2D COFs, an AA stacking arrangement has been reported on the basis of experimental powder XRD patterns, with the exception of COF‐1 (AB stacking). In this work, we show that the stacking of 2D COFs is different as originally suggested: COF‐1, COF‐5, COF‐6 and COF‐8 are considerably more stable if their stacking arrangement is either serrated or inclined, and layers are shifted with respect to each other by ~1.4 Å compared with perfect AA stacking. These structures are in agreement with to date experimental data, including the XRD patterns, and lead to a larger surface area and stronger polarisation of the pore surface.  相似文献

Chemical functionalization of covalent organic frameworks (COFs) is critical for tuning their properties and broadening their potential applications. However, the introduction of functional groups, especially to three‐dimensional (3D) COFs, still remains largely unexplored. Reported here is a general strategy for generating a 3D carboxy‐functionalized COF through postsynthetic modification of a hydroxy‐functionalized COF, and for the first time exploration of the 3D carboxy‐functionalized COF in the selective extraction of lanthanide ions. The obtained COF shows high crystallinity, good chemical stability, and large specific surface area. Furthermore, the carboxy‐functionalized COF displays high metal loading capacities together with excellent adsorption selectivity for Nd3+ over Sr2+ and Fe3+ as confirmed by the Langmuir adsorption isotherms and ideal adsorbed solution theory (IAST) calculations. This study not only provides a strategy for versatile functionalization of 3D COFs, but also opens a way to their use in environmentally related applications.  相似文献

Layered covalent organic frameworks (2D‐COFs), composed of reversible imine linkages and accessible pores, offer versatility for chemical modifications towards the development of catalytic materials. Nitrogen‐enriched COFs are good candidates for binding Pd species. Understanding the local structure of reacting Pd sites bonded to the COF pores is key to rationalize interactions between active sites and porous surfaces. By combining advanced synchrotron characterization methods with periodic computational DFT modeling, the precise atomic structure of catalytic Pd sites attached to local defects is resolved within an archetypical imine‐linked 2D‐COF. This material was synthesized using an in situ method as a gel, under which imine hydrolysis and metalation reactions are coupled. Local defects formed in situ within imine‐linked 2D‐COF materials are highly reactive towards Pd metalation, resulting in active materials for Suzuki–Miyaura cross‐coupling reactions.  相似文献

Two‐dimensional covalent organic frameworks (2D COFs), an emerging class of crystalline porous polymers, have been recognized as a new platform for efficient solar‐to‐hydrogen energy conversion owing to their pre‐designable structures and tailor‐made functions. Herein, we demonstrate that slight modulation of the chemical structure of a typical photoactive 2D COF (Py‐HTP‐BT‐COF) via chlorination (Py‐ClTP‐BT‐COF) and fluorination (Py‐FTP‐BT‐COF) can lead to dramatically enhanced photocatalytic H2 evolution rates (HER=177.50 μmol h?1 with a high apparent quantum efficiency (AQE) of 8.45 % for Py‐ClTP‐BT‐COF). Halogen modulation at the photoactive benzothiadiazole moiety can efficiently suppress charge recombination and significantly reduce the energy barrier associated with the formation of H intermediate species (H*) on polymer surface. Our findings provide new prospects toward design and synthesis of highly active organic photocatalysts toward solar‐to‐chemical energy conversion.  相似文献

Mechanistic understanding into the formation and growth of imine-linked two-dimensional (2D) covalent organic frameworks (COFs) is needed to improve their materials quality and access larger crystallite sizes, both of which limit the promise of 2D COFs and 2D polymerization techniques. Here we report a previously unknown temperature-dependent depolymerization of colloidal 2D imine-linked COFs, which offers a new means to improve their crystallinity. 2D COF colloids form at room temperature but then depolymerize when their reaction mixtures are heated to 90 °C. As the solutions are cooled back to room temperature, the 2D COFs repolymerize and crystallize with improved crystallinity and porosity, as characterized by X-ray diffraction, infrared spectroscopy and N2 porosimetry. The evolution of COF crystallinity during the solvothermal depolymerization and repolymerization processes was characterized by in situ wide angle X-ray scattering, and the concentrations of free COF monomers as a function of temperature were quantified by variable temperature 1H NMR spectroscopy. The ability of a 2D COF to depolymerize under these conditions depends on both the identity of the COF and its initial materials quality. For one network formed at room temperature (TAPB-PDA COF), a first depolymerization process is nearly complete, and the repolymerization yields materials with dramatically enhanced crystallinity and surface area. Already recrystallized materials partially depolymerize upon heating their reaction mixtures a second time. A related 2D COF (TAPB-DMTA COF) forms initially with improved crystallinity compared to TAPB-PDA COF and then partially depolymerizes upon heating. These results suggest that both high materials quality and network-dependent properties, such as interlayer interaction strength, influence the extent to which 2D COFs resist depolymerization. These findings offer a new means to recrystallize or solvent anneal 2D COFs and may ultimately inform crystallization conditions for obtaining large-area imine-linked two-dimensional polymers from solution.

Conditions for which imine-linked 2D COF polymerizations are temperature-sensitive are identified that enable a dissolution/repolymerization process akin to molecular recrystallization.  相似文献

2D covalent organic frameworks (COFs) are receiving ongoing attention in semiconductor photocatalysis. Herein, we present a photocatalytic selective chemical transformation by combining sp2 carbon‐conjugated porphyrin‐based covalent organic framework (Por‐sp2c‐COF) photocatalysis with TEMPO catalysis illuminated by 623 nm red light‐emitting diodes (LEDs). Highly selective conversion of amines into imines was swiftly afforded in minutes. Specifically, the π‐conjugation of porphyrin linker leads to extensive absorption of red light; the sp2 ?C=C? double bonds linkage ensures the stability of Por‐sp2c‐COF under high concentrations of amine. Most importantly, we found that crystalline framework of Por‐sp2c‐COF is pivotal for cooperative photocatalysis with (2,2,6,6‐tetramethylpiperidin‐1‐yl)oxyl (TEMPO). This work foreshadows that the outstanding hallmarks of COFs, particularly crystallinity, could be exploited to address energy and environmental challenges by cooperative photocatalysis.  相似文献

In this paper we report the construction of a hollow microtubular triazine‐ and benzobisoxazole‐based covalent organic framework (COF) presenting a sponge‐like shell through a template‐free [3+2] condensation of the planar molecules 2,4,6‐tris(4‐formylphenyl)triazine (TPT‐3CHO) and 2,5‐diaminohydroquinone dihydrochloride (DAHQ‐2HCl). The synthesized COF exhibited extremely high crystallinity, a high surface area (ca. 1855 m2 g?1), and ultrahigh thermal stability. Interestingly, a time‐dependent study of the formation of the hollow microtubular COF having a sponge‐like shell revealed a transformation from initial ribbon‐like crystallites into a hollow tubular structure, and confirmed that the hollow nature of the synthesized COF was controlled by inside‐out Ostwald ripening, while the non‐interaction of the crystallites on the outer surface was responsible for the sponge‐like surface of the tubules. This COF exhibited significant supercapacitor performance: a high specific capacitance of 256 F g?1 at a current density of 0.5 A g?1, excellent cycling stability (98.8 % capacitance retention over 1850 cycles), and a high energy density of 43 Wh kg?1. Such hollow structural COFs with sponge‐like shells appear to have great potential for use as high‐performance supercapacitors in energy storage applications.  相似文献

Covalent organic frameworks (COFs) with structural designability and tunability of photophysical properties enable them to be a promising class of organic luminescent materials by incorporating well-designed fluorescent units directly into the periodic skeletons. The photophysical properties of COFs are mainly affected by the structural features, which determine the conjugation degree, charge delocalization ability, and exciton dynamics of COFs. To understand the relationship between COF structures and their photophysical properties, two COFs with the same pyrene chromophore units but different linkages (imine or vinylene) were designed and synthesized. Interestingly, different linkages endow COFs with huge differences in solid-state photoluminescence quantum yield (PLQY) for imine- and vinylene-linked pyrene-based COFs, which possess PLQY values of 0.34 % and 15.43 %, respectively. The femtosecond-transient absorption spectra and time-dependent density functional theory reveal the different charge-transfer pathways in imine- and vinylene-linked COFs, which influence the exciton relaxation way and fluorescence intensity. In addition, an effective white-light device was obtained by coating the vinylene-linked COF on a light-emitting diode strip.  相似文献

Two‐dimensional (2D) covalent organic frameworks (COFs) feature open and ordered one‐dimensional column nanochannels which offer immense possibilities for incorporation of various guests for specific functions. However, the relatively low chemical stability of most COFs originating from the dynamic covalent linkages hinders their practical application. In this work, a highly crystalline and heteroporous dibenzo[g,p]chrysene‐based COF (DBC‐2P) was synthesized and served as a host material for ionic conduction. DBC‐2P exhibits excellent stability both in strong acid and base due to the large conjugated DBC‐based knot that reinforces the interlayer interactions. Subsequent encapsulation of linear polyethylene glycol (PEG) and PEG‐LiBF4 salt into the nanochannels of DBC‐2P affords a hybrid material with a high ionic conductivity of 2.31×10?3 S cm?1. This work demonstrates an efficient post‐synthetic strategy for the development of new COF–polymer composites with intriguing properties.  相似文献

The design and synthesis of 3D covalent organic frameworks (COFs) have been considered a challenge, and the demonstrated applications of 3D COFs have so far been limited to gas adsorption. Herein we describe the design and synthesis of two new 3D microporous base‐functionalized COFs, termed BF‐COF‐1 and BF‐COF‐2, by the use of a tetrahedral alkyl amine, 1,3,5,7‐tetraaminoadamantane (TAA), combined with 1,3,5‐triformylbenzene (TFB) or triformylphloroglucinol (TFP). As catalysts, both BF‐COFs showed remarkable conversion (96 % for BF‐COF‐1 and 98 % for BF‐COF‐2), high size selectivity, and good recyclability in base‐catalyzed Knoevenagel condensation reactions. This study suggests that porous functionalized 3D COFs could be a promising new class of shape‐selective catalysts.  相似文献

Integrating different kinds of pores into one covalent organic framework (COF) endows it with hierarchical porosity and thus generates a member of a new class of COFs, namely, heteropore COFs. Whereas the construction of COFs with homoporosity has already been well developed, the fabrication of heteropore COFs still faces great challenges. Although two strategies have recently been developed to successfully construct heteropore COFs from noncyclic building blocks, they suffer from the generation of COF isomers, which decreases the predictability and controllability of construction of this type of reticular materials. In this work, this drawback was overcome by a multiple‐linking‐site strategy that offers precision construction of heteropore COFs containing two kinds of hexagonal pores with different shapes and sizes. This strategy was developed by designing a building block in which double linking sites are introduced at each branch of a C3‐symmetric skeleton, the most widely used scaffold to construct COFs with homogeneous porosity. This design provides a general way to precisely construct heteropore COFs without formation of isomers. Furthermore, the as‐prepared heteropore COFs have hollow‐spherical morphology, which has rarely been observed for COFs, and an uncommon staggered AB stacking was observed for the layers of the 2D heteropore COFs.  相似文献
