This work presents a stepwise reversible two-electron transfer induced hydrogen shift leading to the conversion of a bis-pyrrolinium cation to an E-diaminoalkene and vice versa. Remarkably, the forward and the reverse reaction, which are both reversible, follow two completely different reaction pathways. Establishing such unprecedented property in this type of processes was possible by developing a novel synthetic route towards the starting dication. All intermediates involved in both the forward and the backward reactions were comprehensively characterized by a combination of spectroscopic, crystallographic, electrochemical, spectroelectrochemical, and theoretical methods. The presented synthetic route opens up new possibilities for the generation of multi-pyrrolinium cation scaffold-based organic redox systems, which constitute decidedly sought-after molecules in contemporary chemistry. 相似文献

Solubility of several anthraquinone derivatives in supercritical carbon dioxide was readily available in the literature, but correcting ability of the existing models was poor. Therefore, in this work, two new models have been developed for better correlation based on solid–liquid phase equilibria. The new model has five adjustable parameters correlating the solubility isotherms as a function of temperature. The accuracy of the proposed models was evaluated by correlating 25 binary systems. The proposed models observed provide the best overall correlations. The overall deviation between the experimental and the correlated results was less than 11.46% in averaged absolute relative deviation (AARD). Moreover, exiting solubility models were also evaluated for all the compounds for the comparison purpose. 相似文献

Oil refinery is one of the fast growing industries across the globe and it is expected to progress in the near future. The worldwide increase in the generation of refinery wastewater along with strict environmental regulations in the discharge of industrial effluent, persistent efforts have been devoted to recycle and reuse the treated water. The wastewater from the refining operation leads to serious environmental threat to the ecosystem. Therefore, this study aimed to synthesize silica (SiO2) and calcium carbonate nanoparticles (CaCO3) in the reduction of organics from refinery wastewater. The synthesized nanoparticles were employed in the reduction of chemical oxygen demand (COD) from refinery wastewater by studying the influence of solution pH, contact time, dosage of nanoparticles and stirring speed on adsorption performance. From the batch experimental studies, the optimized processing conditions for the reduction of COD using SiO2 nanoparticles are pH 4.0, dosage 0.5 g, stirring speed 125 rpm and 90 min stirring time, and the corresponding values for CaCO3 nanoparticles are pH 8.0, dosage 0.4 g, stirring speed 100 rpm and 90 min stirring time. The study demonstrates that SiO2 and CaCO3 nanoparticles have a promising future in the reduction organics from refinery wastewater in different pH regimes. 相似文献

The reactions of n-butyl stannonic acid with(PhO) 2 P(O)H leads to the formation of a hexameric tin cage [{(n-BuSn) 3 (PhO) 3 O} 2 {HPO 3 } 4 ].This reaction involves an in situ P─O bond cleavage and the generation of a [HPO 3 ] 2? ion. A direct reaction of six equivalents of n-BuSnO(OH) acid with six equivalents of C 6 H 5 OH and four equivalents of H 3 PO 3 also leads to the formation of same cage structure. A tetranuclear organooxotin cage[(PhCH 2 ) 2 Sn 2 O(O 2 P(OH)-t-Bu) 4 ] 2 has been assembled by debenzylation involving the reaction of (PhCH 2 ) 2 SnCl 2 ,(PhCH 2 ) 2 SnO·H 2 O or (PhCH 2 ) 3 SnCl with two equivalents of t-BuP(O)OH 2 . A half-cage intermediate [(PhCH 2 ) 2 Sn 2 O(O 2 P(OH)-t-Bu) 4 ] has been detected. New organotin cations of the type [n-Bu 2 Sn(H 2 O) 4 ] 2+[2,5-Me 2 -C 6 H 3 SO 3 ]? 2 and {[n-Bu 2 Sn(H 2 O) 3 LSn(H 2 O) 3 (n-Bu) 2 ] 2+[1,5-(SO 3 ) 2 -C 10 H 6 ] 2?} have been obtained in the reactions of n-Bu 2 SnO or (n-Bu 3 Sn) 3 O with 2,5-dimethyl sulfonic acid and 1,5-naphthalene disulfonic acid respectively. The synthesis of bolaamphiphiles from unusual β‐amino acids or an alcohol and C12 or C20 spacers is described. Unusual β‐amino acids such as a sugar amino acid, an AZT‐derived amino acid, a norbornene amino acid, and an AZT‐derived amino alcohol were coupled with spacers under standard conditions to get the novel bolaamphiphiles 5 – 8 (Scheme 1), 12 and 13 (Scheme 2), and 17 and 20 (Scheme 3). Three new metal complexes [Cu(L)2] (1), [Co(L)2] (2) and [Zn(L)2] (3) have been prepared by the reaction of hydrated salts of metal (II) acetate with new Schiff base ligand HL, [2‐((4‐(dimethylamino)phenylimino)methyl)‐4,6‐di‐t‐butylphenol] and characterized by different physico‐chemical analyses such as elemental analysis, single XRD, 1H NMR, FTIR and UV–Vis spectroscopic techniques. Their biomolecular docking, antimicrobial and cytotoxicity studies have also been demonstrated. The proposed structure of Schiff base ligand HL and complex 2 are confirmed by Single crystal X‐ray crystallography study. This analysis revealed that metal (II) complexes remain in distorted tetrahedral coordination environments. The electronic properties such as HOMO and LUMO energies are carried out by gaseous phase DFT/B3LYP calculations using Gaussian 09 program. Complex 1 showed a good binding propensity to the DNA and HSA, during the assessment of docking studies. Schiff base ligand HL and its metal (II) complexes, 1–3 screened for their in vitro antimicrobial activities using the disc diffusion method against selected microbes. Complex 1 shows higher antimicrobial activity than complexes 2, 3 and Schiff base ligand HL. According to the results obtained from the cytotoxic studies, Schiff base ligand HL and its metal (II) complexes 1–3 have better cytotoxicity against MCF‐7 cell lines with potency higher than the currently used chemotherapeutic agent cyclophosphamide. 相似文献

The term “liquid crystal” signifies a state of aggregation that is intermediate between the crystalline solid and the isotropic liquid. A substance in this state is strongly anisotropic in some of its properties and yet exhibits a certain degree of fluidity, which in some cases may be comparable to that of an ordinary liquid. A large number of organic compounds are now known to form liquid crystals. An essential requirement for mesomorphism to occur is that the molecules must be highly geometrically anisotropic.
