In this paper, we study the incompressible limit of the three-dimensional compressible magnetohydrodynamic equations, which models the dynamics of compressible quasi-neutrally ionized fluids under the influence of electromagnetic fields. Based on the convergence-stability principle, we show that, when the Mach number, the shear viscosity coefficient, and the magnetic diffusion coefficient are sufficiently small, the initial-value problem of the model has a unique smooth solution in the time interval where the ideal incompressible magnetohydrodynamic equations have a smooth solution. When the latter has a global smooth solution, the maximal existence time for the former tends to infinity as the Mach number, the shear viscosity coefficient, and the magnetic diffusion coefficient go to zero. Moreover, we obtain the convergence of smooth solutions for the model forwards those for the ideal incompressible magnetohydrodynamic equations with a sharp convergence rate.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider the combined quasineutral and low Mach number limit of compressible Euler–Poisson system coupled to a magnetic field. We prove that, as the Debye length and the Mach number tend to zero simultaneously in some way, the solution of compressible Euler–Poisson system coupled to a magnetic field will converge to that of ideal incompressible magnetohydrodynamic equations with a sharp convergence rate.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with the zero Mach number limit of the three-dimension- al compressible viscous magnetohydrodynamic equations. More precisely, based on the local existence of the three-dimensional compressible viscous magnetohydrodynamic equations, first the convergence-stability principle is established. Then it is shown that, when the Mach number is sufficiently small, the periodic initial value problems of the equations have a unique smooth solution in the time interval, where the incompressible viscous magnetohydrodynamic equations have a smooth solution. When the latter has a global smooth solution, the maximal existence time for the former tends to infinity as the Mach number goes to zero. Moreover, the authors prove the convergence of smooth solutions of the equations towards those of the incompressible viscous magnetohydrodynamic equations with a sharp convergence rate.  相似文献

This paper presents a simple justification of the classical low Mach number limit in critical Besov spaces for compressible Euler equations with prepared initial data. As the first step of this justification, we formulate a continuation principle for general hyperbolic singular limit problems in the framework of critical Besov spaces. With this principle, it is also shown that, for the Mach number sufficiently small, the smooth compressible flows exist on the (finite) time interval where the incompressible Euler equations have smooth solutions, and the definite convergence orders are obtained. In this paper, we study the 3D compressible magnetohydrodynamic equations. We obtain a blow up criterion for the local strong solutions just in terms of the gradient of the velocity, similar to the Beal-Kato-Majda criterion (see J.T. Beal, T. Kato and A. Majda (1984) [1]) for the ideal incompressible flow. In addition, initial vacuum is allowed in our case.  相似文献

This note presents a short and elementary justification of the classical zero Mach number limit for isentropic compressible Euler equations with prepared initial data. We also show the existence of smooth compressible flows, with the Mach number sufficiently small, on the (finite) time interval where the incompressible Euler equations have smooth solutions.

In this paper, we prove the blow-up phenomena of smooth solutions to the Cauchy problem for the full compressible magnetohydrodynamic equations and isentropic compressible magnetohydrodynamic equations with constant and degenerate viscosities under some restrictions on the initial data. In particular, our results do not require that the initial data have compact support or contain vacuum in any finite region.  相似文献

In this paper, we develop a continuation principle for general hyperbolic singular limit problems in more general Besov spaces, which covers the cases of usual Sobolev spaces with higher regularity in and the critical Besov space. As an application, we give a simple justification for the low Mach number limit of compressible magnetohydrodynamics equations. More precisely, for the Mach number sufficiently small, the smooth compressible flows exist on the (finite) time interval where the incompressible magnetohydrodynamics equations have smooth solutions, and the definite convergence orders are also obtained. In this paper, we study the low Mach number limit of the compressible Hall-magnetohydrodynamic equations. It is justified rigorously that, for the well-prepared initial data, the classical solutions of the compressible Hall-magnetohydrodynamic equations converge to that of the incompressible Hall-magnetohydrodynamic equations as the Mach number tends to zero.  相似文献

Many interesting problems in classical physics involve the limiting behavior of quasilinear hyperbolic systems as certain coefficients become infinite. Using classical methods, the authors develop a general theory of such problems. This theory is broad enough to study a wide variety of interesting singular limits in compressible fluid flow and magneto-fluid dynamics including new constructive local existence theorems for the time-singular limit equations. In particular, the authors give an entirely self-contained classical proof of the convergence of solutions of the compressible fluid equations to their incompressible limits as the Mach number becomes small. The theory depends upon a balance between certain inherently nonlinear structural conditions on the matrix coefficients of the system together with appropriate initialization procedures. Similar results are developed also for the compressible and incompressible Navier-Stokes equations with periodic initial data independent of the viscosity coefficients as they tend to zero.  相似文献

This work is concerned with the maximum principle for optimal control problem governed by magnetohydrodynamic equations, which describe the motion of a viscous incompressible conducting fluid in a magnetic field and consist of a subtle coupling of the Navier-Stokes equation of viscous incompressible fluid flow and the Maxwell equation of electromagnetic field. An integral type state constraint is considered.  相似文献

The compactness of weak solutions to the magnetohydrodynamic equations for the viscous, compressible, heat conducting fluids is considered in both the three-dimensional space R3 and the three-dimensional periodic domains. The viscosities, the heat conductivity as well as the magnetic coefficient are allowed to depend on the density, and may vanish on the vacuum. This paper provides a different idea from [X. Hu, D. Wang, Global solutions to the three-dimensional full compressible magnetohydrodynamic flows, Comm. Math. Phys. (2008), in press] to show the compactness of solutions of viscous, compressible, heat conducting magnetohydrodynamic flows, derives a new entropy identity, and shows that the limit of a sequence of weak solutions is still a weak solution to the compressible magnetohydrodynamic equations.  相似文献

The motions in a gas of thin films of a viscous incompressible liquid acted upon by capillary forces are considered. The surface tension depends on the impurity concentration of a surface-active material, soluble or insoluble in the liquid, and the liquid is non-volatile. The inertia of the liquid, viscous stresses, the Laplace pressure and the surface-tension gradients, impurity transfer and also the particular properties of super-thin films are taken into account. The motions of the films are described using the model of quasi-steady viscous flow. Systems of equations are obtained in the approximation of an ideal compressible medium and for small Mach numbers. The conditions for the incompressible film surface approximation to hold are obtained. The severe limitations of the gas-dynamic approximation in the case of a soluble impurity due to attenuation of the waves related to diffusion are investigated. A continuum model of the film as a compressible medium with a non-equilibrium pressure is constructed. The asymptotic form of the solutions of unsteady problems of impurity transfer in the limit of weak non-equilibrium is obtained. Integrals of the equations of motion of the films in steady one-dimensional problems are derived. Integral forms of the equations of momentum and its moment for an arbitrary contour of the film are presented, which hold for steady flows in a film and in quasi-statics. The boundary conditions for the solutions of the system of equations of motion of films are given.  相似文献

We are concerned with the existence and uniqueness of local or global solutions for slightly compressible viscous fluids in the whole space. In [6] and [7], we proved local and global well-posedness results for initial data in critical spaces very close to the one used by H. Fujita and T. Kato for incompressible flows (see [14]). In the present paper, we address the question of convergence to the incompressible model (for ill-prepared initial data) when the Mach number goes to zero. When the initial data are small in a critical space, we get global existence and convergence. For large initial data and a bit of additional regularity, the slightly compressible solution is shown to exist as long as the corresponding incompressible solution does. As a corollary, we get global existence (and uniqueness) for slightly compressible two-dimensional fluids.  相似文献

In this paper, we investigate the vanishing viscosity limit problem for the 3D incompressible magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) system in a general bounded smooth domain of R 3 with the generalized Navier slip boundary conditions. We also obtain rates of convergence of the solution of viscous MHD to the corresponding ideal MHD. Copyright © 2016 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

In this article the incompressible limits of weak solutions to the governing equations for magnetohydrodynamics flows on both bounded and unbounded domains are established. The governing equations for magnetohydrodynamic flows are expressed by the full Navier-Stokes system for compressible fluids enhanced by forces due to the presence of the magnetic field as well as the gravity and with an additional equation which describes the evolution of the magnetic field. The scaled analogues of the governing equations for magnetohydrodynamic flows involve the Mach number, Froude number and Alfven number. In the case of bounded domains the establishment of the singular limit relies on a detail analysis of the eigenvalues of the acoustic operator, whereas the case of unbounded domains is being treated by their suitable approximation by a family of bounded domains and the derivation of uniform bounds.  相似文献

In this paper we are interested in the sufficient conditions which guarantee the regularity of solutions of 3-D ideal magnetohydrodynamic equations in the arbitrary time interval [0,T]. Five sufficient conditions are given. Our results are motivated by two main ideas: one is to control the accumulation of vorticity alone; the other is to generalize the corresponding geometric conditions of 3-D Euler equations to 3-D ideal magnetohydrodynamic equations.  相似文献

The combined quasi-neutral and non-relativistic limit of compressible quantum Euler–Maxwell equations for plasmas is studied in this paper. For well-prepared initial data, it is shown that the smooth solution of compressible quantum Euler–Maxwell equations converges to the smooth solution of incompressible Euler equations by using the modulated energy method. Furthermore, the associated convergence rates are also obtained.  相似文献

We consider the Euler equations of barotropic inviscid compressible fluids in the half plane. It is well known that, as the Mach number goes to zero, the compressible flows approximate the solution of the equations of motion of inviscid, incompressible fluids. In dimension two such limit solution exists on any arbitrary time interval, with no restriction on the size of the initial velocity. It is then natural to expect the same for the compressible solution, if the Mach number is sufficiently small. We consider smooth irrotational solutions. First, we study the life span, i.e. the largest time interval T(ε) of existence of classical solutions, when the initial data are a small perturbation of size εfrom a constant state. For the proof of this result we use a combination of energy and decay estimates. Then, the estimate of the life span allows to show, by a suitable scaling of variables, the existence of irrotational solutions on any arbitrary time interval, for any small enough Mach number.
