The reentrant double staggered ladder slow-wave structure is employed in a high-power V-band coupled-cavity traveling-wave tube. This structure has a wide bandwidth, a moderate interaction impedance, and excellent thermal dissipation properties, besides the easy fabrication. A well-matched waveguide coupler is proposed for the structure. Combining the design of attenuators, a full-scale three-dimensional circuit model for the V-band coupled-cavity traveling-wave tube is constructed. The electromagnetic characteristics and the beam--wave interaction of this structure are investigated. The beam current is set to be 100 mA, and the cathode voltage is tuned from 16.8 kV to 15.8 kV. The calculation results show that this tube can produce a saturated average output power over 100 W with an instantaneous bandwidth greater than 1.25 GHz in the frequency ranging from 58 GHz to 62 GHz. The corresponding gain and electronic efficiency can reach over 32 dB and 6.5%, respectively.  相似文献

为解决工作在3 mm波段及以上频段的折叠波导行波管因加工精度和功率容量的局限性, 提出了非渐变型有限变周期折叠波导慢波结构. 首先给出了这种结构能够有效增大高次空间谐波耦合阻抗的理论基础, 并导出了色散和耦合阻抗表达式; 然后进行数值计算, 给出一组优化后的设计参数, 并以此确定行波管的工作点; 最后利用MAFIA粒子模拟软件进行大信号互作用模拟, 获得有效增益. 在结构和周期都比较大的情况下, 实现了相对工作电压比较低的行波管设计. 关键词: 折叠波导 变周期 高次模式 行波管  相似文献

提出一种新颖的单片集成双微环耦合的双波长半导体激光器结构。集成于激光腔内的2个微环谐振腔作为模式选择滤波器,通过游标效应选择谐振模式,同时还可作为等效的反射镜面以形成行波腔。这种无需解理的行波激光腔代替了需要解理面的法布里-珀罗驻波腔。理论仿真表明,跟驻波腔结构相比,行波腔双微环激光器结构简单,可获得约34 mA的较低的阈值电流和大于31 dB的边模抑制比。合理地控制有源区的增益峰值和谐振模式分布,该激光器能提供一致性和稳定性较好的双波长激光输出。  相似文献

提出了一种复合缺陷型电磁带隙(EBG)谐振腔,通过对该EBG结构的带隙分析,指出该谐振腔可在大尺寸下实现单模工作,提供更大的容差空间,且具有高Q值.数值模拟结果表明,基于复合缺陷EBG结构构成的谐振腔,单模工作条件可以放宽到外圈金属柱直径与周期之比为0.6,内圈金属柱直径与周期比为0.9;而传统中心缺陷型EBG结构的小于0.3. 关键词: 电磁带隙 复合缺陷 谐振腔 单模  相似文献

针对行波管更高工作频率和更大输出功率的发展需要,提出了一种半矩形环螺旋线慢波结构。基于三维电磁仿真软件HFSS的模拟研究表明:调控慢波结构的尺寸可以获得合适的色散特性和互作用阻抗,与现有技术的半圆环螺旋线慢波结构相比较,半矩形环螺旋线慢波结构的色散变化很小,但是具有更高的互作用阻抗值。新结构具有平坦色散、高互作用阻抗、与微细加工技术相兼容以及方便与带状电子束互作用的综合优点。  相似文献

The folded double-ridged waveguide structure is presented and its properties used for wide-band traveling-wave tube are investigated.Expressions of dispersion characteristics,normalized phase velocity and interaction impedance of this structure are derived and numerically calculated.The calculated results using our theory agree well with those obtained by using the 3D electromagnetic simulation software HFSS.Influences of the ridge-loaded area and broad-wall dimensions on the high frequency characteristics of the novel slow-wave structure are discussed.It is shown that the folded double-ridged waveguide structure has a much wider relative passband than the folded waveguide slow-wave structure and a relative passband of 67% could be obtained,indicating that this structure can operate in broad-band frequency ranges of beam-wave interaction.The small signal gain property is investigated for ensuring the improvement of bandwidth.Meanwhile,with comparable dispersion characteristics,the transverse section dimension of this novel structure is much smaller than that of conventional one,which indicates an available way to reduce the weight of traveling-wave tube.  相似文献

Hybrid聚束-加速结构是把驻波预聚束器、行波聚束器和标准加速管集成到一起的新型RF结构。简述了对S波段Hybrid聚束-加速结构样机的束流动力学优化和微波设计结果,解释了Hybrid结构导致发射度增长的原因,对此样机进行了射频低功率测试。样机的冷测结果与RF设计结果一致性很好。在冷测频率2 855.21 MHz处,实测S11小于?45 dB,腔间相移偏差小于±2°,VSWR≤1.2对应的带宽大于5 MHz,轴向场分布完全满足动力学要求。  相似文献

A third-order nonlinear Eulerian hydrodynamic formulation was developed for the analysis of harmonic generation in helix traveling-wave tubes. The analysis was simple and computationally fast compared to Lagrangian analysis, and contrary to the existing belief, the theory could as well demonstrate the saturation behavior of the device. The performance of the theory was also found to be in close agreement with that of the Lagrangian analysis. The theory is expected to be useful as a first-hand design and simulation tool for microwave and millimetric wave traveling-wave tubes.  相似文献

提出了一种可应用于毫米波功率放大器中的新型慢波结构——-开敞型角向周期 加载金属柱圆波导结构,并且在互作用通道内,引入了薄环形电子注, 推导出了此时的"热"色散方程,并且对基于该新型慢波结构的行波管的 小信号增益特性进行了深入探讨.通过数值方法 研究了金属柱尺寸和电子注参数 对器件线性特性的影响. 结果表明: 通过对金属柱尺寸的适当设计, 可以获得更高的增益值. 与封闭型结构的比较结果表明, 开敞型角向周期加载金属柱圆波导结构能够 有效地提高小信号增益, 并且对带宽的影响不大. 研究结果为研制基于此新型慢波系统的毫米波行波管奠定了理论基础.  相似文献

针对THz频段微电真空器件波导壁面材料电导率及加工粗糙度引发损耗的模拟需求,研制了有限电导率模块,并将其添加进三维全电磁粒子模拟大规模并行程序NEPTUNE3D。介绍了有限电导率的时域有限差分显格式及时谐场近似解方法,针对上述方法的优缺点,提出了基于扩散方程隐格式的有限电导率模块算法,该算法具备无条件稳定、普适性好的优点。利用矩波导常见电磁波模传输损耗算例,测试了自编的有限电导率模块,测试结果与理论值及同类商业电磁软件计算结果进行了比对,验证了模块的可靠性。利用添加有限电导率的三维全电磁粒子模拟程序NEPTUNE3D,模拟了材料电导率以及表面粗糙度对0.22 THz折叠波导行波管性能的影响,模拟结果表明,材料电导率及表面粗糙度会显著降低器件输出功率和增益水平。综合色散关系、耦合阻抗、衰减常数等因素,给出了器件结构参数设计建议,并指出:通过增加电子束流、注入信号功率以及慢波结构周期数目等方式可一定程度上提高器件输出功率水平。  相似文献

This paper proposes and analyzes a GaAs traveling-wave optical modulator which uses a modulated coplanar strip electrode with periodic cross-tie overlay. This slow-wave structure can be designed to satisfy phase velocity and impedance matching conditions simultaneously. The dominant conductor loss in the slow-wave structure is reduced using the modulated coplanar strip electrode. The calculated 3-dB modulation bandwidth (100 GHz) is much wider than the bandwidth limit (30 GHz) of conventional electrode structures that are limited by phase velocity mismatch.This work was supported by the U.S. Army Research Office under contract DAAL-03-88-K-0005 and the Texas Advanced Technology Program.  相似文献

We introduce a hybrid photonic surface plasmon ring resonator which consists of a silicon nitride (Si3N4) dielectric traveling-wave ring resonator vertically coupled to a thin layer of metallic strip ring resonator made of Silver (Ag) on top. The cladding is assumed to be porous alumina on top of the metal layer, which provides more surface area for the adsorption of target molecules and their efficient interaction with the surface plasmon wave excited at the metal-cladding interface. Simulations show that this hybrid structure has a large refractive index sensitivity due to the excitation of surface plasmon waves and also a relatively narrow resonance linewidth due to the large quality factor of the photonic ring resonator. The Finite Element method is used to systematically design the hybrid structure and to investigate the performance of the hybrid resonator as a refractive index sensor. The proposed structure is very compact and can be implemented on a chip in an integrated platform. Thus, it can be used for lab-on-a-chip sensing applications and is capable of being spectrally and spatially multiplexed for muti-analyte sensing.  相似文献

We report on the performance of a dual-wavelength resonant, traveling-wave optical parametric oscillator to generate squeezed light for application in advanced gravitational-wave interferometers. Shot noise suppression of 8.6±0.8 dB was measured across the detection band of interest to Advanced LIGO, and controlled squeezing measured over 5900 s. Our results also demonstrate that the traveling-wave design has excellent intracavity backscattered light suppression of 47 dB and incident backscattered light suppression of 41 dB, which is a crucial design issue for application in advanced interferometers.  相似文献

采用多导体传输线分析方法, 对同轴交错圆盘加载波导慢波结构进行了理论分析, 得到了这种慢波结构的色散方程; 利用该色散方程, 得到的色散特性与HFSS仿真软件模拟结果符合良好. 分析了结构参数的变化对同轴交错圆盘加载波导慢波结构的色散特性影响. 结果表明: 增加内径和减小慢波结构的单位周期长度可以拓展慢波结构的带宽. 对同轴圆盘加载波导和同轴交错圆盘加载波导两种慢波结构的色散特性进行了比较, 结果表明: 采用圆盘交错加载方式可以减弱色散, 拓展带宽. 研究结果对同轴交错圆盘加载波导在毫米波行波管中的应用具有指导意义. 关键词: 行波管 同轴交错圆盘加载波导 慢波结构 色散特性  相似文献

We experimentally studied properties of traveling-wave excitation and traveling-wave pulse compression for a Nd : glass laser system with a streak camera. These properties were extended to second-harmonic generation with a type-11 KDP crystal. We found that the second-harmonic pulse generated from the chirped-fundamental pulse also has a good chirp linearity, but the spectral bandwidth and temporal duration were reduced. We demonstrated the effective subpulse suppression in the compressed pulse with the second-harmonic generation. The pulse with tilted wave front, short wavelength and high contrast ratio can be obtained by the second-harmonic generation of traveling-wave pulse.  相似文献

Millimeter-wave traveling-wave tube(TWT) prevails nowadays as the amplifier for radar,communication and electronic countermeasures.The rectangular waveguide grating is a promising all-metal interaction circuit for the millimeter-wave TWT with advantages of high power capacity,fine heat dissipation,scalability to smaller dimensions for shorter wavelengths,compact structure and robust performance.Compared with the traditional closed structure,the open rectangular waveguide grating(ORWG) has wider bandwidth,lower cut-off frequency,and higher machining precision for higher working frequencies due to the open transverse.It is a potential structure that can work in the millimeter wave and even Terahertz band.The rf characteristics including dispersion and interaction impedance are investigated by both theoretic calculation and software simulation.The influences of the structure parameters are also discussed and compared,and the theoretical results agree well with the simulation results.Based on the study,the ORWG will favor the design of a broadband and high-power millimeter-wave TWT.  相似文献
