Exact solution of a semi-infinite crack in an infinite piezoelectric body   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
Summary The paper presents an exact and complete solution of the problem of a semi-infinite plane crack in an infinite transversely isotropic piezoelectric body. The upper and lower crack faces are assumed to be loaded symmetrically by a couple of normal point forces in opposite directions and a couple of point charges. The solution is derived through a limiting procedure from the one of a penny-shaped crack. The expressions for the elastoelectric field are given in terms of elementary functions. In this paper, two kinds of circular crack including external circular crack and penny-shaped crack in a transversely isotropic piezoelectric space are considered. Firstly, we obtain the solution to the problem of an external circular crack in a transversely isotropic piezoelectric space subjected to antisymmetric normal point forces and point charges. Based on this, the solution of one-sided loading of an external circular crack is constructed. Secondly, the real shape of an external circular crack and the opening displacement of a penny-shaped crack under an arbitrary point force and point charge are further obtained. At last, the results are presented in a graphical form. The static equilibrium of a transversely isotropic magnetoelectroelastic body with a plane crack of arbitrary shape in the isotropy plane under antisymmetric mechanical loading is studied. The relationships between the stress intensity factors (SIFs) for an infinite magnetoelectroelastic body and the SIFs for a purely elastic body with the same crack and under the same antisymmetric loading are established. This enables the SIFs for a magnetoelectroelastic body to be found directly from the analogous problem of elasticity. As an example of using this result, the SIFs for penny-shaped, elliptic, and parabolic cracks in a magnetoelectroelastic body under antisymmetric mechanical loading are found Translated from Prikladnaya Mekhanika, Vol. 44, No. 10, pp. 37–51, October 2008.  相似文献

This investigation is concerned with the deformations and stresses in a slab of all-around infinite extent containing a traction-free plane crack, under conditions of plane strain. The analysis is carried out within the framework of the fully nonlinear equilibrium theory of homogeneous and isotropic incompressible elastic solids. For a fairly wide class of such materials and general loading conditions at infinity, assymptotic estimates appropriate to the various field quantities near the crack-tips are deduced. For a subclass of the materials considered, these results — in contrast to the analogous predictions of the linearized theory — lead to the conclusion that the crack opens up in the neighborhood of its tips even if the applied loading is antisymmetric about the plane of the crack, (e.g., Mode II loading). It is shown further that the non-linear global crack problem corresponding to such a loading in general cannot admit an antisymmetric solution. The results communicated in this paper were obtained in the course of an investigation supported in part by Contract N00014-75-C-0196 with the Office of Naval Research in Washington, D.C.  相似文献

An exact and complete solution of the problem of a half-plane crack in an infinite transversely isotropic piezoelectric body is presented. The upper and lower crack faces are assumed to be loaded antisymmetrically by a couple of tangential point forces in opposite directions. The solution is derived through a limiting procedure from that of a penny-shaped crack. The expressions for the electroelastic field are given in terms of elementary functions. Finally, the numerical results of the second and third mode stress intensity factorsk 2 andk 3 of piezoelectric materials and elastic materials are compared in figures. An interface crack between two semi-infinite piezoelectric spaces under the action of remote mixed mode loading and electric flux is considered. The properties of the materials, loading and crack geometry admit to consider a two-dimensional problem in the plane perpendicular to the crack front. The crack is assumed to be free from mechanical loading and the limited permeable electric condition holds true. Assuming the electric flux is constant along the crack area, using the known presentations of all electromechanical fields via a piecewise holomorphic vector function, the problem is reduced to a vector Hilbert problem and solved in an analytical way. Clear analytical expressions for stresses and electric displacement as well as for stress and electric intensity factors are derived. As a particular case, a crack in a homogeneous piezoelectric material is considered and exact analytical formulae are presented for this case. The numerical analysis of the obtained formulae showed that for small values of the electric flux the model of a completely permeable crack can be used for any real crack permeability’s. The validity of such an approximation decreases with increase in the mechanical loading and especially of the electric flux.  相似文献

An inplane problem for a crack moving with constant subsonic speed along the interface of two piezoelectric materials is considered. A mechanically frictionless and electrically permeable contact zone is assumed at the right crack tip whilst for the open part of the crack both electrically permeable and electrically insulated conditions are considered. In the first case a moving concentrated loading is prescribed at the crack faces and in the second case an additional electrical charge at the crack faces is prescribed as well. The main attention is devoted to electrically permeable crack faces. Introducing a moving coordinate system at the leading crack tip the corresponding inhomogeneous combined Dirichlet–Riemann problem is formulated and solved exactly for this case. All electromechanical characteristics at the interface are presented in a closed form for arbitrary contact zone lengths, and further, the transcendental equation for the determination of the real contact zone length is derived. As a particular case of the obtained solution a semi-infinite crack with a contact zone is considered. The numerical analysis performed for a certain piezoelectric bimaterial showed an essential increase of the contact zone length and the associated stress intensity factor especially for the near-critical speed region. Similar investigations have been performed for an electrically insulated crack and the same behavior of the above mentioned parameters is observed.  相似文献

A half-space containing a surface-breaking crack of uniform depth is subjected to three-dimensional dynamic loading. The elastodynamic stress-analysis problem has been decomposed into two problems, which are symmetric and antisymmetric, respectively, relative to the plane of the crack. The formulation of each problem has been reduced to a system of singular integral equations of the first kind. The symmetric problem is governed by a single integral equation for the opening-mode dislocation density. A pair of coupled integral equations for the two sliding-mode dislocation densities govern the antisymmetric problem. The systems of integral equations are solved numerically. The stress-intensity factors are obtained directly from the dislocation densities. The formulation is valid for arbitrary 3-D loading of the half-space. As an example, an applied stress field corresponding to an incident Rayleigh surface wave has been considered. The dependence of the stress-intensity factors on the frequency, and on the angle of incidence, is displayed in a set of figures.  相似文献

The paper addresses a thermoelectroelastic problem for a piezoelectric body with an arbitrarily shaped plane crack in a plane perpendicular to the polarization axis under a symmetric thermal load. A relationship between the intensity factors for stress (SIF) and electric displacement (EDIF) in an infinite piezoceramic body with a crack under a thermal load and the SIF for a purely elastic body with a crack of the same shape under a mechanical load is established. This makes it possible to find the SIF and EDIF for an electroelastic material from the elastic solution without the need to solve specific problems of thermoelasticity. The SIF and EDIF for a piezoceramic body with an elliptic crack and linear distribution of temperature over the crack surface are found as an example __________ Translated from Prikladnaya Mekhanika, Vol. 44, No. 3, pp. 96–108, March 2008.  相似文献

The elastic stress state in a piezoelectric body with an arbitrarily oriented elliptic crack under mechanical and electric loads is analyzed. The solution is obtained using triple Fourier transform and the Fourier-transformed Green’s function for an unbounded piezoelastic body. Solving the problem for the case of a crack lying in the isotropy plane, for which there is an exact solution, demonstrates that the approach is highly efficient. The distribution of the stress intensity factors along the front of a crack in a piezoelectric body under uniform mechanical loading is analyzed numerically for different orientations of the crack __________ Translated from Prikladnaya Mekhanika, Vol. 44, No. 2, pp. 39–48, February 2008.  相似文献

The main objective of this work is the contribution to the study of the piezoelectric structures which contain preexisting defect (crack). For that, we consider a Griffith crack located at the interface of two piezoelectric materials in a semi-infinite plane structure. The structure is subjected to an anti-plane shearing combined with an in-plane electric displacement. Using integral Fourier transforms, the equations of piezoelectricity are converted analytically to a system of singular integral equations. The singular integral equations are further reduced to a system of algebraic equations and solved numerically by using Chebyshev polynomials. The stress intensity factor and the electric displacement intensity factor are calculated and used for the determination of the energy release rate which will be taken as fracture criterion. At the end, numerical results are presented for various parameters of the problem; they are also presented for an infinite plane structure.  相似文献

Electroelastic behavior of a cracked piezoelectric ceramics plate subjected to four cases of combined mechanical-electrical loads is analyzed. The integral transform method is applied to convert the problem involving an impermeable anti-plane crack to dual integral equations. Solving the resulting equations, the explicit analytic expressions for electroelastic field along the crack line and the intensity factors of relevant quantities near the crack tip and the mechanical strain energy release rate are obtained. The known results for an infinite piezoelectric ceramics plane containing an impermeable anti-plane crack are recovered from the present results only if the thickness of the plate h → ∞. Three-dimensional fundamental solutions corresponding to a unit point force and point electric charge are obtained for a semi-infinite transversely isotropic piezoelectric solid. The free boundary is parallel to the plane of isotropy. They can be used as the Green’s function for solving the problem of a flat circular crack near the free surface which will be dealt with in Part II of this work.  相似文献

This is part II of the work concerned with finding the stress intensity factors for a circular crack in a solid with piezoelectric behavior. The method of solution involves reducing the problem to a system of hypersingular integral equations by application of the unit concentrated displacement discontinuity and the unit concentrated electric potential discontinuity derived in part I [1]. The near crack border elastic displacement, electric potential, stress and electric displacement are obtained. Stress and electric displacement intensity factors can be expressed in terms of the displacement and the potential discontinuity on the crack surface. Analogy is established between the boundary integral equations for arbitrary shaped cracks in a piezoelectric and elastic medium such that once the stress intensity factors in the piezoelectric medium can be determined directly from that of the elastic medium. Results for the penny-shaped crack are obtained as an example.  相似文献

A plane problem for a tunnel electrically permeable interface crack between two semi-infinite piezoelectric spaces is studied. A remote mechanical and electrical loading is applied. Elastic displacements and potential jumps as well as stresses and electrical displacement along the interface are presented using a sectionally holomorphic vector function. It is assumed that the interface crack includes zones of crack opening and frictionless contact. The problem is reduced to a combined Dirichlet–Riemann boundary value problem which is solved analytically. From the obtained solution, simple analytical expressions are derived for all mechanical and electrical characteristics at the interface. A quite simple transcendental equation, which determines the point of separation of open and close sections of the crack, is found. For the analysis of the obtained results, the main attention is devoted to the case of compressive-shear loading. The analytical analysis and numerical results show that, even if the applied normal stress is compressive, a certain crack opening zone exists for all considered loading values provided the shear field is present. It is found that the shear stress intensity factor at the closed crack tip and the energy release rates at the both crack tips depend very slightly on the magnitude of compressive loading.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with the effect of a biasing electric field on the propagation of Lamb waves in a piezoelectric plate. On the basis of three dimensional linear elastic equations and piezoelectric constitutive relations, the differential equations of motion under a biasing electric field are obtained and solved. Due to the symmetry of the plate, there are symmetric and antisymmetric modes with respect to the median plane of the piezoelectric plate. According to the characteristics of symmetric modes (odd potential state) and antisymmetric modes (even potential state), the phase velocity equations of symmetric and antisymmetric modes of Lamb wave propagation are obtained for both electrically open and shorted cases. The effect of a biasing electric field on the phase velocity, electromechanical coupling coefficient, stress field and mechanical displacement of symmetric and antisymmetric Lamb wave modes are discussed in this paper and an accompanying paper respectively. It is shown that the biasing electric field has significant effect on the phase velocity and electromechanical coupling coefficient, the time delay owning to the velocity change is useful for high voltage measurement and temperature compensation, the increase in the electromechanical coupling coefficient can be used to improve the efficiency of transduction.  相似文献

The static equilibrium of an electroelastic transversely isotropic space with a plane crack under antisymmetric mechanical loads is studied. The crack is located in the plane of isotropy. Relationships are established between the stress intensity factors (SIFs) for an infinite piezoceramic body and the SIFs for a purely elastic body with a crack of the same form under the same loads. This makes it possible to find the SIFs for an electroelastic body without the need to solve specific electroelasitc problems.
