According to the time&space conversion relations and different frequency phase detection principle,an ultra-high precision time&frequency measurement method is proposed in this paper.The higher accuracy and stability of the speed of light and electromagnetic signals during the transmission in space or a specific medium enable the measurement of short time interval which uses the coincidence detection of signal’s transmission delay in length.The measurement precision better than 10 picoseconds can be easily obtained.The method develops the length vernier utilizing the stability of signal’s transmission delay,minimizes the fuzzy region of phase coincidence between the standard frequency signal and the measured signal,approaches the best phase coincidences and therefore improves the measurement precision which is higher than the precision provided by the traditional methods based on frequency processing.Besides,the method costs less than the traditional methods and can also solve the problem of the measurement of super-high frequency.Experimental results show the method can improve the measurement precision to 10 12/s in the time&frequency domain.  相似文献

A scheme for recording fast process at nanosecond scale by using digital holographic interferometry with continuous wave (CW) laser is described and demonstrated experimentally, which employs delayed-time fibers and angular multiplexing technique and can realize the variable temporal resolution at nanosecond scale and different measured depths of object field at certain temporal resolution. The actual delay-time is controlled by two delayed-time fibers with different lengths. The object field information in two different states can be simultaneously recorded in a composite hologram. This scheme is also suitable for recording fast process at picosecond scale, by using an electro-optic modulator.  相似文献

分析了原有时间相关单光子计数光谱仪存在的不足,提出了改进方案。研制了高速数据采集系统,采用PCI总线技术、FPGA技术,开发了高速光谱数据采集卡,取代了原有的多道分析仪,数据采集速度达到20 MB/s,比原有仪器提高了约200倍;改善了仪器的性能、减小了体积。介绍了光谱仪系统的集成和工作流程,并对仪器的性能进行分析,通过多种标准样品的试验数据分析和对比,光谱仪系统具有最高的灵敏度-单光子计数,测得荧光寿命可达到ps量级,而且可以测得时间分辨光谱。  相似文献

RF deflectors can be used for bunch length measurement with high resolution. This paper describes a completed S-band traveling wave RF deflector and the bunch length measurement of the electron beam produced by the photocathode RF gun of the Shanghai DUV-FEL facility. This is the first time that such a transverse RF deflector has been developed and used to measure the bunch length of picosecond order in China. The deflector's VSWR is 1.06, the whole attenuation 0.5 dB, and the bandwidth 4.77 MHz for VSWR less than 1.1. With a laser pulse width of 8.5 ps, beam energy of 4.2 MeV, and bunch charge of 0.64 nC, the bunch lengths for different RF input power into the deflector were measured, and an averaged rms bunch length of 5.25 ps was obtained. A YAG crystal is used as a screen downstream of the deflector, with the calibrated value of 1 pix = 136 μm.  相似文献

The phase group synchronization between any signals is further revealed,which is based on proposing the new concepts of the greatest common factor frequency,the least common multiple period,quantized phase shift resolution,equivalent phase comparison frequency and so on.Then the problem of phase comparison and processing between different frequency signals is solved and shown in detail.Using the basic principle and the variation law of group phase difference,the frequency stability better than 10-14/s can be easily obtained in the timefrequency measurement and control domain,and experimental results also show the phase relations between atomic energy level transition signal and the locked crystal oscillator signal in an active hydrogen atomic clock are strict phase group synchronization,and locked precision with 10-13/s can be reached based on phase group synchronization.The phase group synchronization can provide technical support to frequency linking among radio frequency,microwave and light frequency.  相似文献

A background-free measurement of an individual pulse of a passively mode-locked Nd: glass laser during one laser shot has been performed using a crystal of LiIO3. The method is based on the non-collinearly generated second harmonic intensity spatial distribution measurement. The time resolution was better than 0.1 ps. The method can be successfully used for picosecond pulse measurement of any laser source over a wide wavelength region.  相似文献

In TOF measurement, the factors that can increase the time resolution include noise, amplitude measurement error, and the difference of pulse amplitudes and shapes. This article discusses how these factors affect time resolution, and performs quantitative analysis based on the GEANT4 simulation result of the BESⅢ's TOF detector. The result shows that the discriminator level must be selected carefully. To get better time resolution, pulse waveform digitizing is necessary.  相似文献

The two-colour operation of a Free-Electron Laser (FEL) has been demonstrated with the “CLIO” infrared facility. A two section undulator allows the production of picosecond laser pulses at two different wavelengths and simultaneously, in a wavelength range from to , and with a wavelength separation of two colours of up to . The time overlap, between both colours, has been measured on a picosecond time scale and on a microsecond time scale. An initial pump-probe application experiment has been performed with the two colours: stimulated emission has been measured in a 3-level Quantum-Well system. A Mach-Zender interferometer with a Gaussian number-difference squeezed input state can exhibit sub-shot-noise phase resolution over a large phase interval. We derive the optimal level of squeezing for a given phase interval Deltatheta{0} and particle number N. We then propose an adaptive measurement sequence in which the amount of squeezing is increased with each measurement. With this scheme, any phase on (-Deltatheta{0},Deltatheta{0}) can be measured with a precision of 3.5/N, requiring only 2-4 measurements, provided only that Ntan(Deltatheta{0})<10{40}. In a double-well Bose-Einstein condensate, the optimized input states can be created by adiabatic manipulation of the ground state.  相似文献

A picosecond streak camera operating in synchronism with C.W. mode-locked lasers provides real-time integrated measurement of repetitive luminous phenomena with a temporal resolution of ~ 10 ps. The durations of pulses from an actively mode-locked argon ion laser (514.5 nm) have been measured to be ~ 90 ps and the system is particularly suitable for the measurement of dye fluorescence lifetimes.  相似文献

提出了一种对角线长度小于20 μm的硬度压痕表面积共聚焦测量方法。激光扫描共聚焦显微镜以0.1 μm的间隔逐层对试样的压痕进行扫描测量,对全部数据集合的包络拟合获得压痕的三维数据。旋转平面法与法向量特征相结合精确提取压痕,通过三角网格构造算法得到压痕的表面积,进而计算出试样的硬度值。共聚焦测量方法与传统成像光学显微镜测量方法相比分辨率提升了30%,合成标准不确定度平均减小1 HV。实验结果表明:共聚焦测量方法实现了压痕表面积的高精度、高稳定性测量。  相似文献

高能密度物理研究中涉及许多单次皮秒现象的诊断测量, 然而对单次X-ray脉冲形状、X-ray与激光脉冲的皮秒精度同步依然是极具挑战的课题. 传统行波选通分幅相机受电子渡越时间限制, 难以突破40 ps时间分辨极限. 本文围绕半导体中光学探针光的全光调制效应, 提出一种以低温GaAs材料为基础, 实现皮秒时间分辨X-ray探测的新方法, 详细阐述了该探测器的工作机理、器件参数设计和时间分辨能力. 通过飞秒激光打靶实验, 验证了其概念设计的正确性. 结果表明该探测器具有约1.5 ps时间响应和10 ps时间分辨能力, 通过材料优化可将时间分辨提升 至1 ps以内.  相似文献

The durations of ultra-short (4–7 psec) laser pulses have been directly measured with an image tube streak camera designed for time resolution in the picosecond region. The camera was calibrated with simultaneously recorded two photon fluorescence pulse profiles and it is shown that a time resolution limit of ≈1 psec should be possible with this system.  相似文献

In this paper, an optical fiber sensor based on multiple total internal reflections (MTIRs) in heterodyne interferometry is proposed. With the optical fiber sensor the phase shift difference due to the multiple total internal reflections effect between the p- and s-polarizations is measured by using heterodyne interferometry. Substituting the phase shift difference into Fresnel's equations, the refractive index for the tested medium can be calculated. The resolution of the sensor can reach 1.6×10?6 refractive index unit (RIU). The optical fiber sensor could be valuable for chemical, biological and biochemical sensing. It has some merits, such as, high resolution and stability, high sensitivity, high resolution and real-time measurement.  相似文献

Time measurement plays a crucial role for the purpose of particle identification in high energy physics experiments. With increasingly demanding physics goals and the development of electronics, modern time measurement systems need to meet the requirement of excellent resolution specification as well as high integrity. Based on Field Programmable Gate Arrays(FPGAs), FPGA time-to-digital converters(TDCs) have become one of the most mature and prominent time measurement methods in recent years. For correcting the time-walk effect caused by leading timing, a time-over-threshold(TOT) measurement should be added to the FPGA TDC. TOT can be obtained by measuring the interval between the signal leading and trailing edges. Unfortunately, a traditional TDC can recognize only one kind of signal edge, the leading or the trailing. Generally, to measure the interval, two TDC channels need to be used at the same time, one for leading, the other for trailing. However, this method unavoidably increases the amount of FPGA resources used and reduces the TDC's integrity.This paper presents one method of TOT measurement implemented in a Xilinx Virtex-5 FPGA. In this method,TOT measurement can be achieved using only one TDC input channel. The consumed resources and time resolution can both be guaranteed. Testing shows that this TDC can achieve resolution better than 15 ps for leading edge measurement and 37 ps for TOT measurement. Furthermore, the TDC measurement dead time is about two clock cycles, which makes it good for applications with higher physics event rates.  相似文献

研制的皮秒时间相关单光子计数光谱仪利用时间相关单光子计数(TCSPC)技术,采用了具有分光时间弥散动态和静态补偿特性的光栅分光系统,解决了传统分光系统的光信号时间弥散问题;使用多道谱分析仪开设时间窗口,测量荧光衰减曲线和时间分辨光谱;用荧光衰减曲线的多指数拟合方法处理数据。给出了光谱仪的原理和总体方案,介绍了系统的集成和工作流程。通过各种标准样品的试验数据分析和对比,得出系统所测荧光寿命可达到ps量级,而且具有最高的灵敏度——单光子计数,时间分辨率达到8.8ps。  相似文献

A new simple digital positron lifetime spectrometer has been developed. It includes a DRS4 waveform digitizing board and two scintillation detectors based on the XP2020Q photomultiplier tubes and LaBr3 scintillators. The DRS4 waveform digitizing can handle small pulses, down to few tens of millivolts, and its time scale linearity and stability are very good. The new system has reached a 206 ps time resolution, which is better than the conventional analog apparatus using the same detectors. These improvements make this spectrometer more simple and convenient in comparison with other spectrometers, and it can be applied to the other scintillation timing measurements with picosecond accuracy.  相似文献
