We study the conductance through finite Aharonov-Bohm rings of interacting electrons weakly coupled to non-interacting leads at two arbitrary sites. This model can describe an array of quantum dots with a large charging energy compared to the interdot overlap. As a consequence of the spin-charge separation, which occurs in these highly correlated systems, the transmittance is shown to present pronounced dips for particular values of the magnetic flux piercing the ring. We analyze this effect by numerical and analytical means and show that the zero-temperature equilibrium conductance in fact presents these striking features which could be observed experimentally.  相似文献

In this Letter, we studied the electronic transport through a parallel-coupled double quantum dot (DQD) molecule including impurity effects at zero temperature. The linear conductance can be calculated by using the Green's function method. An obvious Fano resonance arising from the impurity state in the quantum dot is observed for the symmetric dot-lead coupling structure in the absence of the magnetic flux through the quantum device. When the magnetic flux is presented, two groups of conductance peaks appear in the linear conductance spectra. Each group is decomposed into one Breit-Wigner and one Fano resonances. Tuning the system parameters, we can control effectively the shapes of these conductance peaks. The Aharonov-Bohm (AB) oscillation for the magnetic flux is also studied. The oscillation period of the linear conductance with π, 2π or 4π may be observed by tuning the interdot tunneling coupling or the dot-impurity coupling strengths.  相似文献

理论上研究了含stubs的Rashba自旋轨道耦合(spin-orbit coupling, SOC)量子波导系统的自旋极化输运性质. 利用晶格格林函数方法,发现由于stubs和SOC产生的势阱使系统中出现束缚态,这些束缚态与传播态之间相互干涉导致电导中出现Fano共振结构,同时在对应的自旋极化率中也出现Fano共振或反共振结构. 此外,由于系统结构的突变使电子被反向散射和量子干涉效应,电导中出现一系列的共振峰. 但是,当系统加上外磁场后,所有这些效应都被抑制, 系统重新出现量子化电导, 同时自旋电导也出 关键词: 量子波导 自旋极化输运 自旋轨道耦合  相似文献

A nonlinear single-particle model is introduced, which captures the characteristic of systems in the quantum Hall regime. The model involves the magnetic Schrödinger equation with spatially variable magnetic flux density. The distribution of flux is prescribed via the postulates of the mesoscopic mechanics (MeM) introduced in my previous articles (cf. [9, 10]). The model is found to imply exact integer and fractional quantitzation of the Hall conductance. In fact, Hall resistance is found to be R H = (h/e 2)(M/N) at the filling factor value N/M. The assumed geometry of the Hall plate is rectangular. Special properties of the magnetic Schrödinger equation with the mesoscopic feedback loop allow us to demonstrate quantization of Hall resistance as a direct consequence of charge and flux quantization. I believe results presented here shed light at the overall status of the MeM in quantum physics, confirming its validity.  相似文献

We present a new family of gauge invariant non-local order parameters for (non-abelian) discrete gauge theories on a Euclidean lattice, which are in one-to-one correspondence with the excitation spectrum that follows from the representation theory of the quantum double D(H) of the finite group H. These combine magnetic flux-sector labeled by a conjugacy class with an electric representation of the centralizer subgroup that commutes with the flux. In particular, cases like the trivial class for magnetic flux, or the trivial irrep for electric charge, these order parameters reduce to the familiar Wilson and the ’t Hooft operators, respectively. It is pointed out that these novel operators are crucial for probing the phase structure of a class of discrete lattice models we define, using Monte Carlo simulations.  相似文献

We investigate electron transport inside a ring system composed of a quantum dot (QD) coupled to two Majorana bound states confined at the ends of a one-dimensional topological superconductor nanowire. By tuning the magnetic flux threading through the ring, the model system we consider can be switched into states with or without zero-energy modes when the nanowire is in its topological phase. We find that the Fano profile in the conductance spectrum due to the interference between bound and continuum states exhibits markedly different features for these two different situations, which consequently can be used to detect the Majorana zero-energy mode. Most interestingly, as a periodic function of magnetic flux, the conductance shows 2π periodicity when the two Majorana bound states are nonoverlapping (as in an infinitely long nanowire) but displays 4π periodicity when the overlapping becomes nonzero (as in a finite length nanowire). We map the model system into a QD–Kitaev ring in the Majorana fermion representation and affirm these different characteristics by checking the energy spectrum.  相似文献

We investigate the properties of strongly correlated electronic models on a flux-threaded ring connected to semi-infinite free-electron leads. The interference pattern of such an Aharonov-Bohm ring shows sharp dips at certain flux values, determined by the filling, which are a consequence of spin-charge separation in a nanoscopic system.  相似文献

We report the occurrence of the zero-bias conductance peak (ZBCP) in an InAs nanowire coupled to PbIn superconductors with varying temperature, bias voltage, and magnetic field. The ZBCP is suppressed with increasing temperature and bias voltage above the Thouless energy of the nanowire. Applying a magnetic field also diminishes the ZBCP when the resultant magnetic flux reaches the magnetic flux quantum h/2e. Our observations are consistent with theoretical expectations of reflectionless tunneling, in which the phase coherence between an electron and its Andreev-reflected hole induces the ZBCP as long as time-reversal symmetry is preserved.  相似文献

Electronic transport properties through junctions in nanographite ribbons are investigated using the Landauer approach. In the low-energy regime ribbons with zigzag boundary have a single conducting channel of edge states. The conductance as a function of the chemical potential shows a rich structure with sharp dips of zero conductance. Each zero-conductance resonance is connected with a resonant state which can be interpreted as the superposition of two degenerate flux states with Kekule-like current patterns. These zero-conductance dips are connected with a pronounced negative magnetoresistance.  相似文献

The tunneling conductance for a junction device consisting of a normal metal and a singlet superconductor is studied with Rashba spin orbit coupling (RSOC) being present in the metallic lead and the interface separating the two regions via an extended Blonder-Tinkham-Klapwijk (BTK) formalism. Interesting interplay between the RSOC and a number of parameters that have experimental significance, and characterize either the junction or the superconducting leads, such as the barrier transparency, quasiparticle lifetime, Fermi wavevector mismatch, an in-plane magnetic field and their effects on the tunneling conductance are investigated in details for both a s-wave and a d-wave superconductor. In an opaque barrier, in presence of a quasiparticle lifetime, a Fermi wavevector mismatch or an external in-plane magnetic field, RSOC enhances the conductance corresponding to low biasing energies, that is, at energies lesser than the superconducting gap, while the reverse is noted for energies exceeding the magnitude of the gap. Further, there are exciting anomalies noted in the conductance spectrum for the d-wave gap which can be understood by incorporating the interplay between the superconducting gap and the angle of incident of the charge carriers.  相似文献

利用非平衡格林函数方法,理论研究每臂中嵌有一个平行耦合双量子点分子的A-B干涉仪(平行耦合双量子点分子A-B干涉仪)的电荷及其自旋输运性质.无外磁场时,与每臂中嵌有一个量子点的A-B干涉仪相比较,平行耦合双量子点分子A-B干涉仪中电子隧穿变得更加容易发生.当平行耦合双量子点分子A-B干涉仪中引入外磁场时,能够在电导能谱中观察到一个Fano共振和一个反共振,这两种输运状态在磁场取适当数值时能够同时消失.此外,通过调节左右两电极间的偏压、磁通和Rashba自旋轨道相互作用,可以对体系自旋输运进行调控.  相似文献

在正常金属铁磁绝缘层dx2-y2 idxy混合波超导隧道结中,考虑到铁磁绝缘层的磁散射和界面的粗糙散射效应,运用BogoliubovdeGennes(BdG)方程和BlonderTinkhamKlapwijk(BTK)理论,计算了隧道结中的准粒子传输系数和微分电导.研究表明:(1)磁散射和界面粗糙散射均可以压低电导峰,其中磁散射能使电导峰滑移,而粗糙界面散射却能阻止这种滑移,且两散射的共同作用可抑制由混合波两序参数的幅值比不同所导致的电导峰滑移;(2)随铁磁层离超导表面距离的增加,隧道谱在零偏压处由凹陷变成了零偏压电导峰,继而又演化为凹陷中的中心峰;(3)当铁磁层离开超导表面有若干相干长度时,隧道谱中将呈现一些子能级谐振峰.  相似文献

A scheme to observe Electromagnetically induced transparency (EIT) in an optomechanical system is proposed in the current paper. We treat a narrowband squeezed field as the weak probe field. We find that EIT dips exist in the output field. Moreover, the dependence of the EIT dips on the effective cavity detuning Δ and the input power ζ are explored. We show that the width of the EIT dips can be controlled by the parameters ξ and the detuning Δ.  相似文献

Electronic transport through parallel coupled double quantum dots (DQD) with Rashba spin-orbit (RSO) interaction is investigated in Kondo regime by means of the slave-boson mean field approximation at zero temperature. By the co-action of the phase factor deduced by RSO interaction and the magnetic flux penetrating the parallel DQD, an interesting spin-dependent Kondo effect emerges. The molecular state representation theory is used to obtain a detailed understanding of the spin-dependent Kondo effect. It is shown that Quantum interference between the bonding Kondo state and antibonding state, which is modulated by the RSO interaction, plays a crucial role to the density of states and the linear conductance. The magnitude of each spin component conductance can be modulated by the RSO interaction strength. The conductance of each spin component exhibits 4π-periodic function with respect to φR. Moreover, the swap operation in the parallel DQD system can be implemented by tuning the RSO interaction.  相似文献

Transport data for superconductor/normal metal point contacts often consists of normalized conductance versus applied voltage as a function of reduced temperature, from which the barrier parameter, Z, and the broadening parameter, Γ, for the contact can be determined, in addition to other features of interest. We present a new strategy for determining these parameters, namely from normalized conductance as a function of applied magnetic field at fixed temperature, even when conductance versus variable temperature data is absent. This analysis technique will be demonstrated for several point contacts, over a wide range of parameter values.  相似文献

We study anisotropic stripe models of interacting electrons in the presence of magnetic fields in the quantum Hall regime with integer and fractional filling factors. The model consists of an infinite strip of finite width that contains periodically arranged stripes (forming supercells) to which the electrons are confined and between which they can hop with associated magnetic phases. The interacting electron system within the one-dimensional stripes are described by Luttinger liquids and shown to give rise to charge and spin density waves that lead to periodic structures within the stripe with a reciprocal wavevector 8k F in a mean field approximation. This wavevector gives rise to Umklapp scattering and resonant scattering that results in gaps and chiral edge states at all known integer and fractional filling factors ν. The integer and odd denominator filling factors arise for a uniform distribution of stripes, whereas the even denominator filling factors arise for a non-uniform stripe distribution. We focus on the ground state of the system, and identify the quantum Hall regime via the quantized Hall conductance. For this we calculate the Hall conductance via the Streda formula and show that it is given by σ H = νe 2/h for all filling factors. In addition, we show that the composite fermion picture follows directly from the condition of the resonant Umklapp scattering.  相似文献

We consider a mesoscopic ring connected to external reservoirs by tunnel junctions. The ring is capacitively coupled to an external gate electrode and may be pierced by a magnetic field. Due to strong electron–electron interactions within the ring the conductance shows Coulomb blockade oscillations as a function of the gate voltage, while Aharonov–Bohm interference effects lead to a dependence on the magnetic flux. The Hamiltonian of the ring is given by a Luttinger model that allows for an exact treatment of both interaction and interference effects. We conclude that the positions of conductance maxima as a function the external parameters can be used to determine the interaction parameter , and the shapes of conductance peaks are strongly affected by electron correlations within the ring.  相似文献

Iron-based superconductors have been the subject of intensive study due to their high transition temperature and intriguing physical mechanisms. We describe a unique experimental approach to fabricate nano-scale normal metal/superconductor/normal metal junctions involving microcrystals of Fe1 ?+?y Te1 ???x Se x , for which we have observed a distinct phenomenon of negative differential conductance (NDC) dips along with multiple plateau features in differential conductance spectra. The evolution of the NDC dips and the plateau features is further explored as a function of both temperature and magnetic field, and their physical origin is discussed.  相似文献

We construct non-Abelian geometric transformations in superconducting nanocircuits, which resemble in properties the Aharonov-Bohm phase for an electron transported around a magnetic flux line. The effective magnetic fields can be strongly localized, and the path is traversed in the region where the energy separation between the states involved is at maximum, so that the adiabaticity condition is weakened. In particular, we present a scheme of topological charge pumping.  相似文献
