The electroluminescence (EL) characteristics of phosphorescent organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) with an undoped bis(1,2-dipheny1-1H-benzoimidazole) iridium (acetylacetonate) [(pbi)2Ir(acac)] emissive layer (EML) of various film thicknesses were studied. The results showed that the intensity of green light emission decreased rapidly with the increasing thickness of (pbi)2Ir(acac), which was relevant to the triplet excimer emission. It suggested that the concentration quenching of monomer emission in the undoped (pbi)2Ir(acac) film was mainly due to the formation of triplet excimer and partly due to the triplet-triplet annihilation (TTA) and triplet-polaron annihilation (TPA). A green OLED with a maximum luminance of 26,531 cd/m2, a current efficiency of 36.2 cd/A, and a power efficiency of 32.4 lm/W was obtained, when the triplet excimer emission was eliminated. Moreover, the white OLED with low efficiency roll-off was realized due to the broadened recombination zone and reduced quenching effects in the EML when no electron blocking layer was employed.  相似文献

The efficiencies of red organic light-emitting diode (OLED) using tris-(8-hydroxy-quinoline)aluminum (Alq3) as host and 4-(dicyanomethylene)-2-t-butyl-6-(1,1,7,7-tetramethyljulolidyl-9-enyl)-4H-pyran (DCJTB) as dopant were greatly increased by adding a small amount (0.3 wt%) of Ir compound, iridium(III) bis(3-(2-benzothiazolyl)-7-(diethylamino)-2H-1-benzopyran-2-onato-N′,C4) (acetyl acetonate) (Ir(C6)2(acac)), as a sensitizer. The device has a sandwiched structure of indium tin oxide (ITO)/4,4′,4″-tris(N-(2-naphthyl)-N-phenyl-amino)triphenylamine (T-NATA) (40 nm)/N,N′-bis(1-naphthyl)-N,N′-diphenyl-1,1′-biphenyl-4,4′ diamine (NPB) (40 nm)/Alq3:DCJTB (0.7 wt%):Ir(C6)2(acac) (0.3 wt%) (40 nm)/Alq3 (40 nm)/LiF (1 nm)/Al (120 nm). It can be seen that the current efficiencies of this device remained almost (13.8±1) cd/A from 0.1 to 20,000 cd/m2 and the Commission International d’Eclairage (CIE) coordinates at (0.60, 0.37) in the range of wide brightness. The significant improvement was attributed to the sensitization effect of the doped Ir(C6)2(acac), thus the energy of singlet and triplet excitons is simultaneously transferred to the DCJTB.  相似文献

Efficient white organic light-emitting diodes (WOLEDs) are fabricated with a thin layer of 9,10-bis (2-naphthyl) anthracene (ADN) doped with Rubrene as the source of white emission. A device with the structure of ITO/NPB (70 nm)/ADN: 0.5% Rubrene (30 nm)/Alq3 (50 nm)/MgAg shows a maximum current efficiency of 3.7 cd/A, with the CIE coordinates of x=0.33, y=0.43. The EL spectrum of the devices and the CIE coordinates remains almost the same when the voltage is increased from 10 to 15 V and the current efficiency remains quite stable with the current density increased from 20 to 250 mA/cm2.  相似文献

High performance polymer light-emitting diodes (PLEDs) based on a phosphor of noble metal complex bis(1,2-dipheny1-1H-benzoimidazole) iridium (acetylacetonate) [(pbi)2Ir(acac)] doped in poly(N-vinylcarbazole) (PVK) host with various concentration were demonstrated. The photoluminescence (PL) and electroluminescence (EL) spectra of the PLEDs exhibited an emission intensity decrease of PVK and a gradually enhanced feature of (pbi)2Ir(acac) with increased doping concentration. The device with a 5 wt% (pbi)2Ir(acac) doped PVK system showed a high power efficiency of 3.84 lm/W and a luminance of 26,006 cd/m2. The results indicated that both energy transfer and charge trapping have a significant influence on the performance of PLEDs. The devices have a broadened EL spectrum of full-width at half-maximum (FWHM) more than 100 nm, which can be realized for WOLEDs.  相似文献

Organic device with structure of indium tin oxide (ITO)/1,3,5-tris-(3-methylphenylphenylamino)triphenylamine (m-MTDATA)/2-tert-butyl-9,10-di-beta-naphthylanthracene (TBADN)/2,9-dimethyl-4,7-diphenyl-1,10-phenan-throline (BCP)/LiF/Al, was fabricated, which show high efficient white electroluminescence (EL) or photovoltaic (PV) properties when it was driven by direct current (DC) bias or illuminated by ultraviolet (UV) light. Under a DC bias, the device shows efficient white EL emission. A maximum luminous efficiency of 1.1 lm/W was obtained at 8 V, which corresponds the Commission International de L’Eclairage coordinates (CIE) of (x = 0.298, y = 0.365). When the bias was increased to 12 V, the device shows bright white emission with the maximum brightness of 4300 cd/m2, corresponding CIE coordinates of (x = 0.262, y = 0.280). When the diode was irradiated by a 365 nm UV-light (4 mW/cm2), the open-circuit voltage (Voc) of 1.2 V, short-circuit (Isc) of 0.065 mA/cm2, fill factor (FF) of 0.24 and power conversion efficiency of 0.47% have been determined, respectively. The generation mechanisms of white light and PV of the bi-functional diode were discussed as well.  相似文献

We demonstrate a non-doped white organic light-emitting diode (WOLED) in which the blue-, green- and red-emissions are generated from 4,4′-bis(2,2′-diphenylvinyl)-1,1′-biphenyl, tris(8-hydroxyquinoline)aluminum (Alq) and 4-(dicyanomethylene)-2-t-butyl-6-(1,1,7,7-tetramethyl-julolidyl 9-enyl)-4H-pyran (DCJTB), which is used as an ultrathin layer. The DCJTB ultrathin layer plays the chromaticity tuning role in optimizing the white spectral band by modulating the location of the DCJTB ultrathin layer in the green emissive Alq layer. The optimized WOLED gives the Commission Internationale de l’Eclairage-1931 xy coordinates of (0.319, 0.335), a color rendering index of 91.2 at 10 V, a maximum brightness of 21010 cd/m2 at 12 V and a maximum current efficiency of 5.17 cd/A at 6.6 V. The electroluminescence mechanism of the white device is also discussed.  相似文献

The performance of organic light emitting device (OLED) structures, based on identically fabricated Alq3/TPD active regions, with various anode and cathode electrode structures are compared, and performance differences related to the different anode structure. The best performance was achieved with a conductive polymer, 3,4-polyethylenedioxythiopene-polystyrenesultonate (PEDOT), used as an anode layer, yielding a brightness of 1720 cd/m2 at 25 V, a turn-on voltage of 3 V, and electroluminescence (EL) efficiency and external quantum efficiency of 8.2 cd/A and 2%, respectively, at a brightness of 100 cd/m2 and 5 V. Compared to a baseline device (TPD/Alq3/Al), PEDOT anodes substantially reduce the turn-on voltage and made current injection almost linear after turn-on, whiles devices incorporating a LiF and CuPc layers significantly improved device efficiency while slightly improving turn-on voltage and maintaining superlinear I-V injection. This is attributed to the reduced barrier at the organic-organic interface in PEDOT, the ‘ladder’ effect of stepping the band offset over several interfaces, and the favorable PEDOT film morphology. The benefit of the PEDOT anode is clearly seen in the improvement in device brightness and the high external quantum efficiency obtained.  相似文献

A white light-emitting device has been fabricated with a structure of ITO/m-MTDATA (45 nm)/NPB (10 nm)/DPVBi (8 nm)/DPVBi:DCJTB 0.5% (15 nm)/BPhen (x nm)/Alq3 [(55−x) nm]/LiF (1 nm)/Al, with x=0, 4, and 7. BPhen was used as the hole-blocking layer. This results in a mixture of lights from DPVBi molecules (blue-light) and DCJTB (yellow-light) molecules, producing white light emission. The chromaticity can be readily adjusted by only varying the thickness of the BPhen layer. The CIE coordinates of the device are largely insensitive to the driving voltages. When the thickness of BPhen is 7 nm, the device exhibits peak efficiency of 6.87 cd/A (3.59 lm/W) at the applied voltage of 6 V, the maximum external quantum efficiency ηext=2.07% corresponding to 6.18 cd/A, and the maximum brightness is 18494 cd/m2 at 15 V.  相似文献

In this paper, a new white organic light-emitting device (WOLED) with multilayer structure has been fabricated. The structure of devices is ITO/N, N-bis-(1-naphthyl)-N, N-diphenyl-1, 1′-biphenyl-4, 4′-diamine (NPB) (40 nm)/NPB: QAD (1%): DCJTB (1%) (10 nm) /DPVBi (10 nm) /2, 9-dimethyl, 4, 7-diphenyl, 1, 10-phenanthroline (BCP) (d nm)/tris-(8-hydroxyquinoline) aluminium (Alq3)(50-d nm)/LiF (1 nm)/Al (200 nm). In our devices, a red dye 4-(dicyanomethylene)-2-t-butyl-6 (1, 1, 7, 7-tetramethyl julolidyl-9-enyl)-4H-pyran (DCJTB) and a green dye quinacridone (QAD) were co-doped into NPB. The device with 8 nm BCP shows maximum luminance of 12 852 cd/m2 at 20 V. The current efficiency and power efficiency reach 9.37 cd/A at 9 V and 3.60 lm/W at 8 V, respectively. The thickness of the blocking layer permit the tuning of the device spectrum to achieve a balanced white emission with Commission International de’Eclairage (CIE) chromaticity coordinates of (0.33,0.33). The CIE coordinates of device change from (0.3278, 0.3043) at 5 V to (0.3251, 0.2967) at 20 V that are well in the white region, which is largely insensitive to the applied bias.  相似文献

Performances of red organic light-emitting device were improved by co-doping 2-formyl-5,6,11,12-tetraphenylnaphthacene (2FRb) and 4-(dicyanomethylene)-2-t-butyl-6-(1,1,7,7-tetra-methyljulolidyl-9-enyl)-4H-pyran (DCJTB) in tris-(8-hydroxyquinoline) aluminum (Alq3) host as the emitting layer. The device with 1 wt% DCJTB and 2.4 w% 2FRb in Alq3 host gave a saturated red emission with CIE chromaticity coordinates of (0.65, 0.35) and a maximum current efficiency as high as 6.45 cd/A, which are 2 and 2.4 fold larger than that of the device with 1 wt% DCJTB (3.28 cd/A) in Alq3 host and the device with 2.4 wt% 2FRb (2.72 cd/A) in Alq3 host at the current density of 20 mA/cm2, respectively. The improvement could be attributed to the effective utilization of host energy by both energy transfer and trapping in the electroluminescence process and the depression of concentration quenching between the dopants molecules.  相似文献

Stable white electroluminescence (EL) has been achieved from organic LED, in which an ultrathin 4-(dicyanomethylene)-2-methyl-6-(p-dimethyl-aminostyryl)-4H-pyran (DCM) dye layer has been inserted in between two 2-methyl-8-hydroxyquinolinolatolithium [LiMeq] emitter layer and by optimizing the position of the DCM dye layer from the α-NPD/LiMeq interface. Electroluminescence spectra, current-voltage-luminescence (I-V-L) characteristics of the devices have been studied by changing the position of the dye layer. As the distance of DCM layer from α-NPD/LiMeq interface is increased, the intensity of host emission enhances rapidly. Introduction of thin layer of DCM in emissive layer increases the turn on voltage. The best Commission International de L’ Eclairage (CIE) coordinates i.e. (0.32, 0.33) were obtained with device structure ITO/α-NPD(30 nm) /LiMeq(10 nm)/DCM(1 nm)/LiMeq(25 nm)/BCP(6 nm)/Alq3(28 nm)/LiF(1 nm)/Al(100 nm). The EL spectrum covers the whole visible spectra range 400-700 nm. The color rendering index (CRI) for our best white light (Device 4) is 47.4. The device shows very good color stability in terms of CIE coordinates with voltages. The maximum luminescence 1240 cd/m−2 has been achieved at 19 V.  相似文献

In this paper, we report a phosphorescent Ir(III) emitter of Ir(acac)(F-BT)2, where acac=acetylacetonate and F-BT=2-(2-fluorophenyl)benzo[d]thiazole, including its crystal structure, electronic nature, photophysical characteristics, thermal, and electrochemical properties. Data suggest that Ir(acac)(F-BT)2 is a promising emitter with high quantum yield of 0.61 and good thermal stability, along with its proper energy levels for charge carrier transportation. Multiple quantum well (MQW) structured OLEDs using Ir(acac)(F-BT)2 as emitter are also fabricated, and their electroluminescence (EL) are investigated in detail. The optimal EL device with 4,4′-N,N′-dicarbazole-biphenyl as potential well layer shows a maximum luminance of 85,500 cd/cm2 and a peak current efficiency of 31.5 cd/A, and the efficiency roll-off is efficiently reduced.  相似文献

We report the synthesis of pyrene derivatives as the light emissive layer for highly efficient organic electroluminescence (EL) diodes. Multilayer devices were fabricated with pyrene derivatives (ITO/NPB (50 nm)/blue material (30 nm)/BCP (10 nm)/Alq3 (30 nm)/LiF (1 nm)/Al). By using 1,1′-dipyrene (DP) and 1,4-dipyrenyl benzene (DPB), the devices produced the blue EL emissions with 1931 Commission International de L’Eclairage coordinates of (x=0.21, y=0.35) and (x=0.19, y=0.25), respectively. The device with DPB shows a maximum brightness of 42,445 cd/m2 at 400 mA/cm2 and the luminance efficiency of 8.57 cd/A and 5.18 lm/W at 20 mA/cm2.  相似文献

A Cu(I) complex, [Cu(Dppp)(DPEphos)]BF4 (Dppp=2,3-diphenyl-pyrazino[2,3-f][1,10]phenanthroline, DPEphos=Bis[2-(diphenylphosphino)phenyl]ether), is synthesized and used as the dopant in bright electrophosphorescent devices with the general structure ITO/m-MTDATA (30 nm)/NPB (20 nm)/CBP: ×wt% [Cu(Dppp)(DPEphos)]BF4 (30 nm)/Bphen (20 nm)/Alq3 (20 nm)/LiF (0.8 nm)/ Al (200 nm). These devices exhibit a maximum brightness of 4483 cd/m2 and a peak efficiency of 3.4 cd/A. Compared with previously reported similar devices based on Cu(I) complexes, the brightness of the devices presented in this article is the best. Meanwhile, 2% [Cu(Dppp)(DPEphos)]BF4-based devices exhibit white light-emitting properties with CIE coordinates of (0.32. 0.35) at 10 V.  相似文献

In this paper, white organic light emitting diodes (WOLEDs) utilizing two primary-color emitters with no additional blocking layer are fabricated. With a structure of ITO/2TNATA (20 nm)/NPB (20 nm)/NPB: rubrene (2%) (10 nm)/ADN (30 nm)/Alq3 (20 nm)/LiF (1 nm)/Al (100 nm), a white light with CIE coordinates of (0.344, 0.372) is generated at a current density of 30 mA/cm2 and the electroluminescence (EL) spectra consist of two broad bands around 456 nm (ADN) and 556 nm (NPB:rubrene). The device shows the low turn-on voltage and bright white emission with a power efficiency of 2.3 lm/W at a luminance of 100 cd/m2. Through control of the location of the recombination zone and energy transfer, a stable white light emission is achieved. The maximum color shift is less than 0.02 units on the 1931 CIE x,y chromaticity diagram. Given the spectral power distribution of WOLED, the parameters of a light source (chromaticity coordinate, CCT, CRI, and the luminous efficacy) can be calculated. A MATLAB program for this purpose is developed in this paper. Based on this, the design of WOLED for an illumination and display system using a white emitter with color filter arrays is discussed.  相似文献

Small molecular organic light-emitting diodes (MOLED) and polymer organic light-emitting diodes (POLED) were fabricated with yellow light emission phosphorescent dye bis[2-(4-tert-butylphenyl)benzothiazolato-N,C2′] iridium (III) (acetylacetonate) doped in different hosts. The electroluminescent (EL) spectra of both devices shown two peaks generated from iridium dye but the position of main peak changed and became broader for POLED. The maximum luminance of 10,500 cd/m2 achieved at 12.5 V for MOLED is higher than maximum luminance of 9996 cd/m2 at 20 V for POLED. The maximum power efficiency of small molecular device is 6.4 lm/W, which is higher than 2.3 lm/W of polymer device, but the efficiency of both devices will roll off at large current density.  相似文献

Two phosphorescent iridium(III) complexes (dfpmpy)2Ir(ppc) and (dfpmpy)2Ir(prz) [dfpmpy=2-(2′,4′-difluorophenyl)-4-methylpyridine, ppc=pipecolinate, prz=2-pyrazine carboxylate] were synthesized from the reaction of the chloro-bridged dimeric complex [(dfpmpy)2Ir(μ-Cl)]2 and the ancillary ligand. Their structures and photoluminescence properties were investigated and device performances for application in organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) were studied. The complexes adopt a distorted, octahedral geometry around the iridium metal, exhibiting cis C-C and trans N-N arrangements. The photoluminescent (PL) properties reveal that (dfpmpy)2Ir(ppc) emits in the blue-green region (λmax=497 nm), whereas (dfpmpy)2Ir(prz) shows red phosphorescence (λmax=543 nm) in the film state (5% wt. doped in PMMA). The (dfpmpy)2Ir(ppc)- and (dfpmpy)2Ir(prz)-based OLEDs exhibited sky-blue and greenish-yellow electroluminescence with similar current-voltage characteristics, repectively. Maximum current efficiency of (dfpmpy)2Ir(ppc) and (dfpmpy)2Ir(prz) were 4.4 and 7.4 cd/A, respectively. Maximum luminance values were approximately 10,000 cd/m2 for the both compounds.  相似文献

Benzothiazole-based blue fluorescent materials N-(4-(benzo[d]thiazol-2-yl)phenyl)-N-phenylbenzenamine (BPPA) and N-(4-(benzo[d]thiazol-2-yl)phenyl)-N-phenylnaphthalen-1-amine (BPNA) were synthesized for use in organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs). Electroluminescent device with a configuration of ITO/NPB/BPPA/BCP/Alq3/LiF/Al showed a maximum brightness of 3760 cd/m2 at 14.4 V with the CIE coordinates of (0.16, 0.16). A current efficiency of 3.01 cd/A and an external quantum efficiency of 2.37% at 20 mA/cm2 were obtained from this device. Molecules derived from BPPA and BPNA with incorporated dicyanomethylidene, which is a functional group for most red fluorescent molecules, were designed, synthesized and characterized to study the red fluorescence properties of the benzothiazole derivatives.  相似文献

The film-under-gate field emission arrays (FEAs) have been fabricated on the glass substrates by conventional photolithography, anodic oxidation and lift-off method. SnO2 emitters were deposited on the cathode electrodes of under-gate triode by screen printing. The image of film-under-gate field emission arrays with SnO2 emitters was measured by the optical microscopy and field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM). The electric field distributions and electron trajectories of film-under-gate triode were simulated in the same anode voltage and different gate voltage by ANSYS. I-V characteristics of film-under-gate triode with SnO2 emitters were investigated. It indicated that the SnO2 emitters by screen printing uniformly distributed on the surface of cathode electrodes. The maximum anode current in this triode structure could come to 385 μA and the highest lightness was approximately 270 cd/m2 as the gate and anode voltage was 140 V and 2000 V, respectively, at the anode-cathode spacing of 1100 μm. Moreover, the emission current fluctuation was less than 5% for 8 h. It showed that the fabricated device has a good stability of field emission performance and long lifetime, which may lead to practical applications for field emission electron source based on flat lamp for back light units (BLUs) in liquid crystal display (LCD).  相似文献
