In this paper the Dirichlet problem for pluriholomorphic functions of two complex variables is investigated. The key point is the relation between pluriholomorphic functions and pluriharmonic functions. The link is constituted by the Fueter-regular functions of one quaternionic variable. Previous results about the boundary values of pluriharmonic functions and new results on L2 traces of regular functions are applied to obtain a characterization of the traces of pluriholomorphic functions.  相似文献

We consider the problem of designing a reflector that transforms a spherical wave front with a given intensity into an output front illuminating a prespecified region of the far-sphere with prescribed intensity. In earlier approaches, it was shown that in the geometric optics approximation this problem is reduced to solving a second order nonlinear elliptic partial differential equation of Monge–Ampere type. We show that this problem can be solved as a variational problem within the framework of Monge–Kantorovich mass transfer problem. We develop the techniques used by the authors in their work Optical Design of Two-Reflector Systems, the Monge–Kantorovich Mass Transfer Problem and Fermat's Principle [Preprint, 2003], where the design problem for a system with two reflectors was considered. An important consequence of this approach is that the design problem can be solved numerically by tools of linear programming. A known convergent numerical scheme for this problem was based on the construction of very special approximate solutions to the corresponding Monge–Ampere equation. Bibliography: 14 titles.  相似文献

By constructing normal coordinates on a quaternionic contact manifold M, we can osculate the quaternionic contact structure at each point by the standard quaternionic contact structure on the quaternionic Heisenberg group. By using this property, we can do harmonic analysis on general quaternionic contact manifolds, and solve the quaternionic contact Yamabe problem on M if its Yamabe invariant satisfies λ(M) < λ( n ). In this paper, we generalize the classical windowed Fourier transform (WFT) to quaternion-valued signals, called the quaternionic windowed Fourier transform (QWFT). Using the spectral representation of the quaternionic Fourier transform (QFT), we derive several important properties such as reconstruction formula, reproducing kernel, isometry, and orthogonality relation. Taking the Gaussian function as window function we obtain quaternionic Gabor filters which play the role of coefficient functions when decomposing the signal in the quaternionic Gabor basis. We apply the QWFT properties and the (right-sided) QFT to establish a Heisenberg type uncertainty principle for the QWFT. Finally, we briefly introduce an application of the QWFT to a linear time-varying system.  相似文献

Using deformations of singular twistor spaces, a generalisation of the connected sum construction appropriate for quaternionic manifolds is introduced. This is used to construct examples of quaternionic manifolds which have no quaternionic symmetries and leads to examples of quaternionic manifolds whose twistor spaces have arbitrary algebraic dimension.Partially supported by the National Science Foundation grant DMS-9296168.  相似文献

In this paper, we make the asymptotic estimates of the heat kernel for the quaternionic Heisenberg group in various cases. We also use these results to deduce the asymptotic estimates of certain harmonic functions on the quaternionic Heisenberg group. Moreover a Martin compactification of the quaternionic Heisenberg group is constructed, and we prove that the Martin boundary of this group is homeomorphic to the unit ball in the quaternionic field.  相似文献

Over the past few years, considerable attention has been given to the role played by the Lamé's Wave Functions (LWFs) in various problems of mathematical physics and mechanics. The LWFs arise via the method of separation of variables for the wave equation in ellipsoidal coordinates. The present paper introduces the Lamé's Quaternionic Wave Functions (LQWFs), which extend the LWFs to a non‐commutative framework. We show that the theory of the LQWFs is determined by the Moisil‐Theodorescu type operator with quaternionic variable coefficients. As a result, we explain the connections between the solutions of the Lamé's wave equation, on one hand, and the quaternionic hyperholomorphic and anti‐hyperholomorphic functions on the other. We establish analogues of the basic integral formulas of complex analysis such as Borel‐Pompeiu's, Cauchy's, and so on, for this version of quaternionic function theory. We further obtain analogues of the boundary value properties of the LQWFs such as Sokhotski‐Plemelj formulae, the ‐hyperholomorphic extension of a given Hölder function and on the square of the singular integral operator. We address all the text mentioned earlier and explore some basic facts of the arising quaternionic function theory. We conclude the paper showing that the spherical, prolate, and oblate spheroidal quaternionic wave functions can be generated as particular cases of the LQWFs. In this article we solve the complex Monge–Ampère problem for measures with large singular part. This result generalizes classical results by Demailly, Lelong and Lempert a.o., who considered singular parts carried on discrete sets. By using our result we obtain a generalization of Ko?odziej's subsolution theorem. More precisely, we prove that if a non-negative Borel measure is dominated by a complex Monge–Ampère measure, then it is a complex Monge–Ampère measure.  相似文献

A quotient of two linearly independent quaternionic holomorphic sections of a quaternionic holomorphic line bundle over a Riemann surface is a conformal branched immersion from a Riemann surface to four-dimensional Euclidean space. 四元数Hilbert空间在应用物理科学特别是量子物理中占有重要地位.本文讨论四元数Hilbert空间的框架理论, 在四元数Hilbert空间中引入了Riesz基的概念, 在此基础上刻画了Riesz基,给出了它们的一些等价条件; 特别地, 得到了四元数Hilbert空间中的一个序列是Riesz基的充要条件是它是一个具有双正交序列的完备Bessel序列,且它的双正交序列也是一个完备Bessel序列; 并进一步证明了双正交序列中一个序列的完备性可以从特征刻画中去除.文中举例说明了双正交性、完备性和Bessel性质之间的关系.  相似文献

Motivated by the analogies between the projective and the almost quaternionic geometries, we first study the generalized planar curves and mappings. We follow, recover, and extend the classical approach, see e.g., (Sov. Math. 27(1) 63–70 (1983), Rediconti del circolo matematico di Palermo, Serie II, Suppl. 54 75–81) (1998), Then we exploit the impact of the general results in the almost quaternionic geometry. In particular we show, that the natural class of ℍ-planar curves coincides with the class of all geodesics of the so called Weyl connections and preserving this class turns out to be the necessary and sufficient condition on diffeomorphisms to become morphisms of almost quaternionic geometries.  相似文献

In this paper we consider the eigenvalue problem for a fully nonlinear equation involving Hessian operators. In particular we study some properties of the first eigenvalue and of corresponding eigenfunctions. Using suitable symmetrization arguments, we prove a Faber–Krahn inequality for the first eigenvalue and a Payne–Rayner type inequality for eigenfunctions, which are well known for the p-laplacian operator and the Monge–Ampere operator.  相似文献

We review the theory of quaternionic Kähler and hyperkähler structures. Then we consider the tangent bundle of a Riemannian manifold M endowed with a metric connection D, with torsion, and with its well estabilished canonical complex structure. With an almost Hermitian structure on M it is possible to find a quaternionic Hermitian structure on TM, which is quaternionic Kähler if, and only if, D is flat and torsion free. We also review the symplectic nature of TM, in the wider context of geometry with torsion. Finally we discover an S 3-bundle of complex structures, which expands to TM the well known S 2-twistor bundle of a quaternionic Hermitian manifold M.  相似文献

Various representations of the equation of minimal surface in \mathbbR3 {\mathbb{R}^3} are considered. Properties of exact solutions are studied, and a procedure of construction the corresponding conservation laws is suggested. The property is studied that two selfadjoint operators on a quaternionic Hilbert space have the joint numerical range in a halfplane bounded by a line passing through the origin. This property is expressed in various ways, in particular, in terms of compressions to two dimensional subpaces, and in terms of linear dependence over the reals. In this paper, we establish the Gevrey regularity of solutions for a class of degenerate Monge–Ampère equations in the plane. Under the assumptions that one principal entry of the Hessian is strictly positive and the coefficient of the equation is degenerate with appropriately finite type degeneracy, we prove that the solution of the degenerate Monge–Ampère equation will be smooth in Gevrey classes.  相似文献

We study an integrable, nondegenerate codimension 3-subbundle ${\mathcal{D}}We study an integrable, nondegenerate codimension 3-subbundle on a (4n + 3)-manifold M whose fiber supports the structure of 4n-dimensional quaternionic vector space. It is thought of as a generalization of quaternionic CR structure. We single out an -valued 1-form ω locally on a neighborhood U such that and construct the curvature invariant on (M, ω) whose vanishing gives a uniformization to flat quaternionic CR geometry. The invariant obtained on M has the same formula as that of pseudo-quaternionic K?hler 4n-manifolds. From this viewpoint, we exhibit a quaternionic analogue of Chern-Moser’s CR structure.
