Twin beams generated by OPOs show quantum noise reduction. For type I crystals they reduce in the degenerate case to a single mode, which below threshold exhibits some degree of squeezing. In the nondegenerate case squeezing occurs in the spectrum of their intensity difference. After a theoretical analysis of their spectral properties in both non- and degenerate cases, measured intensity noise correlation and single beam spectra are discussed for pump powers up to 14 times the threshold value. 相似文献

The dependence of one- and two-photon characteristics of pulsed entangled two-photon fields generated in spontaneous parametric
down-conversion on the pump-pulse properties (shape of the pump-pulse spectrum and its internal structure) is examined. It
is shown that entangled two-photon fields with defined properties can be generated. A general relation between the spectra
of the down-converted fields is established. As a special case the interference of two partially overlapping pulsed two-photon
fields is studied. The fourth-order interference pattern of entangled two-photon fields is investigated in the polarization
analog of the Hong-Ou-Mandel interferometer.

Quantum models for synchronously pumped type I optical parametric
oscillators (SPOPO) are presented. The study of the dynamics of SPOPOs,
which typically involves millions of coupled signal longitudinal modes, is
significantly simplified when one considers the “supermodes", which are
independent linear superpositions of all the signal modes diagonalizing the
parametric interaction. In terms of these supermodes the SPOPO dynamics
becomes that of about a hundred of independent, single mode degenerate OPOs,
each of them being a squeezer. One derives a general expression for the
squeezing spectrum measured in a balanced homodyne detection experiment,
valid for any temporal shape of the local oscillator. Realistic cases are
then studied using both analytical and numerical methods: the oscillation
threshold is derived, and the spectral and temporal shapes of the squeezed

We study the spatial distribution of quantum noise in singly resonant second-harmonic generation. Calculations are performed below threshold for spatial modulational instability. For parameters for which the intracavity fields are modulationally stable the spatial spectrum shows maximum squeezing at k=0, whereas under conditions of modulational instability we find maximum squeezing at finite wave number |k|=k(c), where k(c) corresponds to the classical critical wave number. 相似文献

The solution of the time-dependent periodic pumping non-degenerate
optical parametric amplifier (NOPA) is derived when the pump
depletion is considered both above and below thresholds. Based on
this solution, the quantum fluctuation calculated shows that a high
entanglement and a good squeezing degree of the parametric light
beams are achieved near and above thresholds. We adopt two kinds of
pump fields: (i) a continuously modulated pump with a sinusoidal
envelope; (ii) a sequence of laser pulses with Gaussian envelopes.
We analyse the time evolution of continuous variable entanglement by
analytical and numerical calculations, and show that the periodic
driven pumping also improves the degree of entanglement. The
squeezing and Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen (EPR) entanglement by using
the two pumping driven functions are investigated from below to
above the threshold regions, the tendencies are nearly the same, and the
Gaussian driven function is superior to that of the sine driven function,
when the maximum squeezing and the minimum variance of
quantum fluctuation are considered. In the meantime, the
generalization of frequency degenerate OPA to frequency

A novel technique for coupling of two resonant optical cavities using an antiresonant ring (ARR) interferometer is reported. By deploying two synchronously‐pumped femtosecond optical parametric oscillators (OPOs), it is shown that the use of an ARR can provide an intracavity common path for the two oscillating fields, but without gain coupling between the two nonlinear media. The new technique permits the generation of two signal (idler) wavelengths, which can be independently and arbitrarily varied across the OPO tuning range. The absence of gain coupling also enables unrestricted and uninterrupted tuning through wavelength degeneracy at any arbitrary point within the OPO tuning range. It is shown that signal wavelength pairs tunable across 1500–1580 nm, corresponding to a frequency separation from ∼ 10 THz down to exact degeneracy, can be generated from the coupled OPOs, limited only by the reflectivity of the available mirrors. 相似文献

We theoretically study the squeezed probe light passing through a double electromagnetically induced transparency (DEIT) system, in which a microwave field and two coupling lights drive a loop transition. It is shown that the output squeezing can be maintained in both two transparency windows of DEIT, and it can also be manipulated by the relative phase of the three driving fields. The influence of the intensity of applied fields and the optical depth of atoms on the squeezing is also investigated. This study offers possibilities to manipulate the squeezing propagation in atomic media by the phase of electromagnetic fields. 相似文献

The interaction of a collection of N four-level tripod configuration atoms with two orthogonally polarized probe fields is investigated. Under the condition of electromagnetically induced transparency (EIT), we calculate the squeezing and entanglement spectra of the output probe fields. By analyzing the output spectrum, we find that the squeezing and entanglement of the probe fields can be well-preserved after passing through the optically thick medium. Additionally, the effects of the ground state dephasing rates of the atoms on the entanglement and squeezing of the output two-mode squeezed fields are investigated. It is shown that the dephasing rates will degrade the entanglement and squeezing, and these quantum properties can be lost when the dephasing rates increase up to a certain value. This will be useful in the quantum computation and quantum communication. 相似文献

The effects on squeezing and sub-poissonian of light in fourth harmonic generation (FHG) are investigated based on the fully quantum mechanically up to the first order Hamiltonian interaction in gt, where g is the coupling constant between the modes per second and t is the interaction time between the waves during the process in a nonlinear medium. FHG is a process in which an incident laser beam of the fundamental frequency ω interacts with a nonlinear medium to produce the harmonic frequency at 4ω. The coupled Heisenberg equations of motion involving real and imaginary parts of the quadrature operators are established. The occurrence of amplitude squeezing effects in both the quadratures of the radiation field in the fundamental mode is investigated and found to be dependent on the selective phase values of the field amplitude. The photon statistics of the pump mode in this process have also been investigated and found to be sub-poissonian in nature. It is found that there is no possibility to produce squeezed light in the harmonic mode up to first-order interaction in gt. Further, we have found the case up to second-order Hamiltonian interaction in gt that the normal squeezing in the harmonic mode is directly depends upon the fourth-order squeezing of the initial pump field. This gives a method of converting higher-order (fourth-order) squeezing into normal squeezing in the harmonic mode and vice versa. 相似文献

In this paper, we investigate the entropy squeezing for a two-level
atom interacting with two quantized fields through Raman coupling.
We obtain the dynamical evolution of the total system under the
influence of intrinsic decoherence when the two quantized fields are
prepared in a two-mode squeezing vacuum state initially. The effects
of the field squeezing factor, the two-level atomic transition
frequency, the second field frequency and the intrinsic decoherence
on the entropy squeezing are discussed. Without intrinsic
decoherence, the increase of field squeezing factor can break the
entropy squeezing. The two-level atomic transition frequency changes
only the period of oscillation but not the strength of entropy
squeezing. The influence of the second field frequency is
complicated. With the intrinsic decoherence taken into
consideration, the results show that the stronger the intrinsic
decoherence is, the more quickly the entropy squeezing will
disappear. The increase of the atomic transition frequency can
hasten the disappearance of entropy squeezing. 相似文献

We consider a system of two separated cavities with the cavity fields initially prepared in a two-mode squeezed vacuum state (TMSVS). We investigate the short time evolution of Bell-nonlocality of the fields interacting with one or two atoms. It is shown that the Bell-inequality violation of the fields can be fully destroyed in a finite time and reappears in the later time. After Bell-nonlocality sudden death (BNSD) in some cases, Bell-nonlocality of the fields almost but does not totally return to its initial value when the squeezing parameter for the fields is small. The pattern of Bell-nonlocality evolution is dependent on the squeezing parameter of the fields, the detuning between the atomic transition and field frequency and the differences between atom-field couplings. 相似文献

We investigate the electronic structure of graphene ribbons under the competition between lateral electric and normal magnetic fields. The squeezing of quantum level spacings caused by either field is studied. Based on the knowledge of the dispersion under both fields, we analyze the electronic trajectories near the junctions of different electric and magnetic fields configurations. The junctions can split and join electron beams, and the conductance is quite robust against disorder near the junction interfaces. Squeezing of the electromagnetic field is investigated in fundamental mode in fourth harmonic generation under a short time approximation based on quantum mechanical approach. The occurrence of squeezing in field amplitude and in higher power amplitude (up to fourth-order) in fundamental mode has been studied. It is found to be dependent on phase of field amplitude of the fundamental mode. The dependence of squeezing on the photon number has also been investigated. It is found that squeezing increases non-linearly. It has also been found that the photon statistics of the field in fundamental mode is sub-Poissonian. Role of Fano interference and incoherent pumping field on optical bistability in a four-level designed In Ga N/Ga N quantum dot nanostructure embedded in a unidirectional ring cavity are analyzed. It is found that intensity threshold of optical bistability can be manipulated by Fano interference. It is shown that incoherent pumping fields make the threshold of optical bistability behave differently by Fano interference. Moreover, in the presence of Fano interference the medium becomes phase-dependent. Therefore, the relative phase of applied fields can affect the behaviors of optical bistability and intensity threshold can be controlled easily. 相似文献

Long-wave infrared(IR) generation based on type-II(o→e+o) phase matching ZnGeP 2(ZGP) and CdSe optical parametric oscillators(OPOs) pumped by a 2.05 μm Tm,Ho:GdVO 4 laser is reported.The comparisons of the birefringent walk-off effect and the oscillation threshold between ZGP and CdSe OPOs are performed theoretically and experimentally.For the ZGP OPO,up to 419 mW output at 8.04 μm is obtained at the 8 kHz pump pulse repetition frequency(PRF) with a slope efficiency of 7.6%.This ZGP OPO can be continuously tuned from 7.8 to 8.5 μm.For the CdSe OPO,we demonstrate a 64 mW output at 8.9 μm with a single crystal 28 mm in length. 相似文献
