In this paper we derive the first and second variations for a nonlinear time scale optimal control problem with control and state-endpoints equality constraints. Using the first variation, a first order necessary condition for weak local optimality is obtained under the form of a weak maximum principle generalizing the Dubois–Reymond Lemma to the optimal control setting and time scales. A second order necessary condition in terms of the accessory problem is derived by using the nonnegativity of the second variation at all admissible directions. The control problem is studied under a controllability assumption, and with or without the shift in the state variable. These two forms of the problem are shown to be equivalent.  相似文献

The aim of this work is to obtain optimal-order error estimates for the LQR (Linear-quadratic regulator) problem in a strongly damped 1-D wave equation. We consider a finite element discretization of the system dynamics and a control law constant in the spatial dimension, which is studied in both point and distributed case. To solve the LQR problem, we seek a feedback control which depends on the solution of an algebraic Riccati equation. Optimal error estimates are proved in the framework of the approximation theory for control of infinite-dimensional systems. Finally, numerical results are presented to illustrate that the optimal rates of convergence are achieved.  相似文献

In this paper we analyze a locking-free numerical scheme for the LQR control of a Timoshenko beam. We consider a non-conforming finite element discretization of the system dynamics and a control law constant in the spatial dimension. To solve the LQR problem we seek a feedback control which depends on the solution of an algebraic Riccati equation. An optimal error estimate for the feedback operator is proved in the framework of the approximation theory for control of infinite dimensional systems. This estimate is valid with constants that do not depend on the thickness of the beam, which leads to the conclusion that the method is locking-free. In order to assess the performance of the method, numerical tests are reported and discussed.  相似文献

An abstract linear-quadratic regulator problem over finite time horizon is considered; it covers a large class of linear nonautonomous parabolic systems in bounded domains, with boundary control of Dirichlet or Neumann type. The associated differential Riccati equation is studied from the point of view of semigroup theory; it is shown to have a classical, explicitly represented solution for very general final data; weighted H?lder regularity results for the optimal pair are deduced. Stochastic Linear Quadratic Optimal Control Problems   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2
This paper is concerned with the stochastic linear quadratic optimal control problem (LQ problem, for short) for which the coefficients are allowed to be random and the cost functional is allowed to have a negative weight on the square of the control variable. Some intrinsic relations among the LQ problem, the stochastic maximum principle, and the (linear) forward—backward stochastic differential equations are established. Some results involving Riccati equation are discussed as well. Accepted 15 May 2000. Online publication 1 December 2000  相似文献

We study the optimal input-output stabilization of discrete time-invariant linear systems in Hilbert spaces by state feedback. We show that a necessary and sufficient condition for this problem to be solvable is that the transfer function has a right factorization over H-infinity. A necessary and sufficient condition in terms of an (arbitrary) realization is that each state which can be reached in a finite time from the zero initial state has a finite cost. Another equivalent condition is that the control Riccati equation has a solution (in general unbounded and even non densely defined). The optimal state feedback input-output stabilization problem can then be solved explicitly in terms of the smallest solution of this control Riccati equation. We further show that after renorming the state space in terms of the solution of the control Riccati equation, the closed-loop system is not only input-output stable, but also strongly internally stable. In this note, we present upper matrix bounds for the solution of the discrete algebraic Riccati equation (DARE). Using the matrix bound of Theorem 2.2, we then give several eigenvalue upper bounds for the solution of the DARE and make comparisons with existing results. The advantage of our results over existing upper bounds is that the new upper bounds of Theorem 2.2 and Corollary 2.1 are always calculated if the stabilizing solution of the DARE exists, whilst all existing upper matrix bounds might not be calculated because they have been derived under stronger conditions. Finally, we give numerical examples to demonstrate the effectiveness of the derived results.  相似文献

We study a Linear–Quadratic Regulation (LQR) problem with Lévy processes and establish the closeness property of the solution of the multi-dimensional Backward Stochastic Riccati Differential Equation (BSRDE) with Lévy processes. In particular, we consider multi-dimensional and one-dimensional BSRDEs with Teugel’s martingales which are more general processes driven by Lévy processes. We show the existence and uniqueness of solutions to the one-dimensional regular and singular BSRDEs with Lévy processes by means of the closeness property of the BSRDE and obtain the optimal control for the non-homogeneous case. An application of the backward stochastic differential equation approach to a financial (portfolio selection) problem with full and partial observation cases is provided.  相似文献

In this paper, we investigate the synchronization of non-autonomous chaotic systems with time-varying delay via delayed feedback control. Using a combination of Riccati differential equation approach, Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional, inequality techniques, some sufficient conditions for exponentially stability of the error system are formulated in form of a solution to the standard Riccati differential equation. The designed controller ensures that the synchronization of non-autonomous chaotic systems are proposed via delayed feedback control and intermittent linear state delayed feedback control. Numerical simulations are presented to illustrate the effectiveness of these synchronization criteria.  相似文献

This article presents an efficient parallel processing approach for solving the optimal control problem of nonlinear composite systems. In this approach, the original high-order coupled nonlinear two-point boundary value problem (TPBVP) derived from the Pontryagin's maximum principle is first transformed into a sequence of lower-order decoupled linear time-invariant TPBVPs. Then, an optimal control law which consists of both feedback and forward terms is achieved by using the modal series method for the derived sequence. The feedback term specified by local states of each subsystem is determined by solving a matrix Riccati differential equation. The forward term for each subsystem derived from its local information is an infinite sum of adjoint vectors. The convergence analysis and parallel processing capability of the proposed approach are also provided. To achieve an accurate feedforward-feedback suboptimal control, we apply a fast iterative algorithm with low computational effort. Finally, some comparative results are included to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach.  相似文献

We consider the infinite horizon quadratic cost minimization problem for a stable time-invariant well-posed linear system in the sense of Salamon and Weiss, and show that it can be reduced to a spectral factorization problem in the control space. More precisely, we show that the optimal solution of the quadratic cost minimization problem is of static state feedback type if and only if a certain spectral factorization problem has a solution. If both the system and the spectral factor are regular, then the feedback operator can be expressed in terms of the Riccati operator, and the Riccati operator is a positive self-adjoint solution of an algebraic Riccati equation. This Riccati equation is similar to the usual algebraic Riccati equation, but one of its coefficients varies depending on the subspace in which the equation is posed. Similar results are true for unstable systems, as we have proved elsewhere.

A finite-dimensional linear time-invariant system is output-stabilizable if and only if it satisfies the finite cost condition, i.e., if for each initial state there exists at least one L2 input that produces an L2 output. It is exponentially stabilizable if and only if for each initial state there exists at least one L2 input that produces an L2 state trajectory. We extend these results to well-posed linear systems with infinite-dimensional input, state and output spaces. Our main contribution is the fact that the stabilizing state feedback is well posed, i.e., the map from an exogenous input (or disturbance) to the feedback, state and output signals is continuous in Lloc2 in both open-loop and closed-loop settings. The state feedback can be chosen in such a way that it also stabilizes the I/O map and induces a (quasi) right coprime factorization of the original transfer function. The solution of the LQR problem has these properties.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider a linear–quadratic stochastic two-person nonzero-sum differential game. Open-loop and closed-loop Nash equilibria are introduced. The existence of the former is characterized by the solvability of a system of forward–backward stochastic differential equations, and that of the latter is characterized by the solvability of a system of coupled symmetric Riccati differential equations. Sometimes, open-loop Nash equilibria admit a closed-loop representation, via the solution to a system of non-symmetric Riccati equations, which could be different from the outcome of the closed-loop Nash equilibria in general. However, it is found that for the case of zero-sum differential games, the Riccati equation system for the closed-loop representation of an open-loop saddle point coincides with that for the closed-loop saddle point, which leads to the conclusion that the closed-loop representation of an open-loop saddle point is the outcome of the corresponding closed-loop saddle point as long as both exist. In particular, for linear–quadratic optimal control problem, the closed-loop representation of an open-loop optimal control coincides with the outcome of the corresponding closed-loop optimal strategy, provided both exist.  相似文献

We give a formula for the Lipschitz constant in Thompson's part metric of any order-preserving flow on the interior of a (possibly infinite dimensional) closed convex pointed cone. This shows that in the special case of order-preserving flows, a general characterization of the contraction rate in Thompson's part metric, given by Nussbaum, leads to an explicit formula. As an application, we show that the flow of the generalized Riccati equation arising in stochastic linear quadratic control is a local contraction on the cone of positive definite matrices and characterize its Lipschitz constant by a matrix inequality. We also show that the same flow is no longer a contraction in other invariant Finsler metrics on this cone, including the standard invariant Riemannian metric. This is motivated by a series of contraction properties concerning the standard Riccati equation, established by Bougerol, Liverani, Wojtkowski, Lawson, Lee and Lim: we show that some of these properties do, and that some other do not, carry over to the generalized Riccati equation.  相似文献

The game problem for an input-output system governed by a Volterra integral equation with respect to a quadratic performance functional is an untouched open problem. In this paper, it is studied by a new approach called projection causality. The main result is the causal synthesis which provides a causal feedback implementation of the optimal strategies in the saddle point sense. The linear feedback operator is determined by the solution of a Fredholm integral operator equation, which is independent of data functions and control functions. Two application examples are included. The first one is quadratic differential games of a linear system with arbitrary finite delays in the state variable and control variables. The second is the standard linear-quadratic differential games, for which it is proved that the causal synthesis can be reduced to a known result where the feedback operator is determined by the solution of a differential Riccati operator equation.

In this work, we derive second order necessary and sufficient optimality conditions for a discrete optimal control problem with one variable endpoint and the other fixed, and with equality control constraints. In particular, the positivity of the second variation, which is a discrete quadratic functional with appropriate boundary conditions, is characterized in terms of the nonexistence of intervals conjugate to 0, the existence of a certain conjoined basis of the associated linear Hamiltonian difference system, or the existence of a symmetric solution to the implicit and explicit Riccati matrix equations. Some results require a certain minimal normality assumption, and are derived using the sensitivity analysis technique.  相似文献

The Linear-Quadratic optimal control problem with a partial stabilization constraint (LQPS) is considered for exponentially stabilizable infinite dimensional semigroup state-space systems with bounded sensing and control (having their transfer function with entries in the algebra . It is reported that the LQPS-optimal state-feedback operator is related to a nonnegative self-adjoint solution of an operator Riccati equation and it can be identified (1) by solving a spectral factorization problem delivering a bistable spectral factor with entries in the distributed proper-stable transfer function algebra _, and (2) by obtaining any constant solution of a diophantine equation over _. These theoretical results are applied to a simple model of heat diffusion, leading to an approximation procedure converging exponentially fast to the LQPS-optimal state feedback operator.  相似文献

We present a non-overlapping spatial domain decomposition method for the solution of linear–quadratic parabolic optimal control problems. The spatial domain is decomposed into non-overlapping subdomains. The original parabolic optimal control problem is decomposed into smaller problems posed on space–time cylinder subdomains with auxiliary state and adjoint variables imposed as Dirichlet boundary conditions on the space–time interface boundary. The subdomain problems are coupled through Robin transmission conditions. This leads to a Schur complement equation in which the unknowns are the auxiliary state adjoint variables on the space-time interface boundary. The Schur complement operator is the sum of space–time subdomain Schur complement operators. The application of these subdomain Schur complement operators is equivalent to the solution of an subdomain parabolic optimal control problem. The subdomain Schur complement operators are shown to be invertible and the application of their inverses is equivalent to the solution of a related subdomain parabolic optimal control problem. We introduce a new family of Neumann–Neumann type preconditioners for the Schur complement system including several different coarse grid corrections. We compare the numerical performance of our preconditioners with an alternative approach recently introduced by Benamou.  相似文献

In this paper we present a new approach to solve a two-level optimization problem arising from an approximation by means of the finite element method of optimal control problems governed by unilateral boundary-value problems. The problem considered is to find a minimum of a functional with respect to the control variablesu. The minimized functional depends on control variables and state variablesx. The latter are the optimal solution of an auxiliary quadratic programming problem, whose parameters depend onu.Our main idea is to replace this QP problem by its dual and then apply the barrier penalty method to this dual QP problem or to the primal one if it is in an appropriate form. As a result we obtain a problem approximating the original one. Its good property is the differentiable dependence of state variables with respect to the control variables. Furthermore, we propose a method for finding an approximate solution of a penalized lower-level problem if the optimal solution of the original QP problem is known. We apply the result obtained to some optimal shape design problems governed by the Dirichlet-Signorini boundary-value problem. This research was supported by the Academy of Finland and the Systems Research Institute of the Polish Academy of Sciences.  相似文献
