Dicke-narrowing effect appears both in doubly dressed electromagnetically induced transparency and singly dressed four-wave-mixing lines due to the contribution of slow atoms resulting from de-excited effects of atom-wall collision and transient behaviour of atoms in a confined system. A robust recipe for high resolution spectroscopy of electromagnetically induced transparency dressed by two fields and four-wave-mixing lines comparable with the cold atoms is achievable in a thin vapour cell in experiments.  相似文献

Electromagnetically induced transparency and absorption of a monochromatic light controlled by a radio frequency field in the cold multi-Zeeman-sublevel atoms are theoretically investigated. These Zeeman sublevels are coupled by a radio frequency(RF) field. Both electromagnetically induced transparency and electromagnetically induced absorption can be obtained by tuning the frequency of RF field for both the linear polarization and elliptical polarization monochromatic lights. When the transfer of coherence via spontaneous emission from the excited state to the ground state is considered, electromagnetically induced absorption can be changed into electromagnetically induced transparency with the change of intensity of radio field. The transparency windows controlled by the RF field can have potential applications in the magnetic-field measurement and quantum information processing.  相似文献

A three-level lambda system driven by multicolor control, pump, and probe fields is investigated. The pump and probe fields are derived from the same laser with opposite propagating directions. Due to the Doppler effect, the zero group-velocity atoms face bichromatic fields, while other atoms face trichromatic fields. The atomic medium shows distinct characteristics and exhibits simultaneous electromagnetically induced transparency(EIT) and electromagnetically induced absorption(EIA) at two frequencies. EIT and EIA peaks have a fixed relationship with frequency, which is determined by the Doppler shifts.  相似文献

采用海森堡-朗之万方法理论研究了Tripod型双电磁诱导透明原子系统中压缩态探针场的传输特性.研究结果表明:通过双透明窗口压缩光可实现双通道传输,且每个通道可以被独立操控;当两束耦合场的频率失谐相等时,输出探针场的压缩度可以得到更好的保持.此外,输出探针场的压缩度可以通过耦合场的拉比频率、原子的光学厚度和基态退相干率以及探测频率来操控.该研究结果为进一步优化多通道量子存储提供依据.  相似文献

提出了一种基于量子相干控制吸收的对准Λ型四能级原子进行二维局域化方案. 利用密度矩阵微扰理论, 得到了确定原子空间位置信息的筛选函数解析表达式. 在缀饰态表象中, 分析了在相干控制场作用下原子初始状态对原子局域的影响. 数值模拟了控制场参量对原子局域化结果的影响. 研究发现原子局域化结果与初始时刻在控制场作用下原子在下能态的布局、下能级间产生的极化密切相关; 不管探测场与耦合场是否满足电磁感应透明配置条件, 通过改变控制场中的行波场的振幅和探测场的失谐量, 均可实现高精度原子局域化, 在亚波长范围内测量到原子的概率达到100%.  相似文献

We present a theoretical study of temporal compression of a short-wavelength laser pulse predicted in a real, Doppler-broadened, atomic system. The compression is the result of the coherent control peculiarities of electromagnetically induced transparency-propagation dynamics. Numerical results are reported and discussed, showing a temporal compression of 2 orders of magnitude (from 10 ns to 100 ps) of a 106.7-nm laser pulse in argon atoms at room temperature.  相似文献

超导量子计算是目前被认为最有希望实现量子计算机的方案之一. 超导量子比特是超导量子计算的核心部件. 如何尽可能的增加超导量子比特的退相干时间, 大规模的集成超导量子比特已成为超导量子计算研究的主要方向. 超导量子比特作为宏观的人工原子, 有许多量子光学现象都能够在其中观测到. 利用超导量子比特实现电磁感应透明为研究超导量子比特的退相干机理提供了新手段, 为研究非线性光学、光存储、光的超慢速传输等量子光学效应开辟了新思路. 本文介绍了电磁感应透明的理论基础, 总结了目前针对超导量子比特的电磁感应透明研究进展, 对比了一般气体原子与超导量子比特的电磁感应透明区别, 并对超导量子比特实现电磁感应透明的潜在应用进行了总结和展望.  相似文献

We analyze the propagation of a pair of quantized fields inside a medium of three-level atoms in a Lambda configuration. We calculate the stationary quadrature noise spectrum of the field, in the case where the probe field is in a squeezed state and the atoms show electromagnetically induced transparency. We find an oscillatory transfer of the initial quantum properties between the probe and pump fields which is most strongly pronounced when both fields have comparable intensities. This implies that the quantum state measured after propagation can be completely different from the initial state, even though the mean values of the field are unaltered.  相似文献

The interaction of signal and control fields with an extended medium of two-level atoms with degenerate energy levels is considered in the semiclassical approximation. The effects of recording, storing, and release of signal pulses are studied for several schemes under the conditions of electromagnetically induced transparency. The propagation of a probe field through a four-level Y-type atomic system is described in the presence of two additional coherent radiation fields, namely, the control field and the coupling field. An expression for the probe response is derived analytically from the optical Bloch equations under steady state condition to study the absorptive properties of the system under probe field propagation through an ensemble of stationary atoms as well as in a Doppler broadened atomic vapor medium. The most striking result is the conversion of electromagnetically induced transparency(EIT) into electromagnetically induced absorption(EIA) as we start switching from weak probe regime to strong probe regime. The dependence of this conversion on residual Doppler averaging due to wavelength mismatch is also shown by choosing the coupling transition as a Rydberg transition.  相似文献

We propose a new all-optical method to image individual Rydberg atoms embedded within dense gases of ground state atoms. The scheme exploits interaction-induced shifts on highly polarizable excited states of probe atoms, which can be spatially resolved via an electromagnetically induced transparency resonance. Using a realistic model, we show that it is possible to image individual Rydberg atoms with enhanced sensitivity and high resolution despite photon-shot noise and atomic density fluctuations. This new imaging scheme could be extended to other impurities such as ions, and is ideally suited to equilibrium and dynamical studies of complex many-body phenomena involving strongly interacting particles. As an example we study blockade effects and correlations in the distribution of Rydberg atoms optically excited from a dense gas.  相似文献

The electromagnetically induced grating effect in thermal and cold atoms has been studied theoretically. Studies have shown that, by adjusting the parameters, the first-order diffraction efficiency of the probe beam in the cold atomic system and the thermal atomic system is 34% and 31%, respectively, which is very close to the ideal diffraction efficiency of the sinusoidal grating. However, it is more difficult to prepare the cold atomic system than to prepare the thermal atomic system in the practical application, so the study of the electromagnetically induced grating effect in the thermal atomic system may be helpful for practical applications.  相似文献

We describe experiments and theory showing the generation of counterpropagating paired photons with coherence times of about 50 ns and waveforms that are controllable at a rudimentary level. Using cw lasers, electromagnetically induced transparency and cold 87Rb atoms we generate paired photons into opposing single-mode optical fibers at a rate of approximately 12 000 pairs per second.  相似文献

The coherent superposition of atomic states leads to the characteristic change of interacting lights because of the coupling between the lights and atoms. In this paper, the noise spectrum of the quantified light interacting with the atoms is studied under the condition of electromagnetically induced transparency (EIT). It is shown that the noise spectrum displays a double M-shape noise profile resulted from the conversion of phase noise of probe beam. A squeezing of 0.3 dB can be observed at the detuning of probe light at the proper parameters of atoms and coupling beam.  相似文献

在包含三能级原子的环形腔的输出光场中,观察到了由电磁感应透明(EIT)效应导致的动态非稳及混沌.该动态非稳及向混沌的过渡可以通过耦合光场而加以很好地控制.同时,由三能级EIT导致的原子相干改变了系统的吸收、色散及非线性效应,从而极大地增强了系统的动态非稳和混沌过渡特性.建立了一个理论模型来定量地解释观察到的现象.  相似文献
