A comparison of differently polarized Bessel vortex beams propagating through a uniaxial anisotropic slab is discussed in terms of the vector wave function expansions.The magnitude profiles of electric field components, the transformation of polarization modes, and the distributions of orbital angular momentum(OAM) states of the reflected and transmitted beams for different incident angles are numerically simulated.The results indicate that the magnitude profiles of electric field components for different polarization modes are distinct from each other and have a great dependence on the incident angle,thus the transformation of polarization modes which reflects the change of energy can be affected largely.As compared to the x and circular polarization incidences, the reflected and transmitted beams for the radial polarization incidence suffer the fewest transformation of polarization modes, showing a better energy invariance.The distributions of OAM states of the reflected and transmitted beams for different polarization modes are diverse as well, and the derived OAM states of the transmitted beam for radial polarization present a focusing effect, concentrating on the state between two predominant OAM states.  相似文献

In this letter, phase control of the Goos-Hänchen shifts of the reflected and transmitted probe light beams through a cavity containing four-level InGaN/GaN quantum dot nanostructure is theoretically discussed. In order to achieve the wave functions and their corresponding energy levels of the mentioned quantum dot nanostructure, Schrödinger and Poisson equations must be solved in a self consistent manner for carriers (here electron) in quantum dot. It is found that the coupling field, the pumping field as well as the cycling field can enhance the GH shifts of the reflected and transmitted probe beams. The effect of relative phase and the detuning of the probe light on the GH shifts of the reflected and transmitted probe beams are also investigated. We find that the GH shifts can be switched between the large positive and negative values by adjusting the controllable parameters.  相似文献

Dynamic neutron diffraction on perfect InSb crystals is analyzed theoretically both under conditions of predominantly potential scattering and under conditions of predominantly resonant scattering. Attention is given primarily to the effect of anomalous neutron transmission. A project of an experiment aimed at studying this effect in predominantly resonant neutron scattering via a simultaneous detection of reflected and transmitted beams and secondary gamma rays is proposed. It is shown that such an experiment may be performed in beams from high-flow reactors.

Second-harmonic generation in sound beams reflected from and transmitted through thick isotropic elastic solids is investigated experimentally. Measurements of diffraction patterns are compared with a theoretical model based on integral solutions for harmonic generation in sound beams. The solutions are connected by classical linear theory for reflection and transmission at fluid-solid interfaces. Nonspecular phenomena associated with rapid phase variations near critical angles are accurately described. The principal restriction is that the solid is sufficiently thick that internal reflections may be ignored.  相似文献

This article presents a model for second-harmonic generation in a sound beam that is reflected from or transmitted through a curved interface. Propagation in homogeneous fluids is assumed. Simple analytic solutions are derived for the case of focused Gaussian beams. The solutions are used to illustrate the effects of focusing or defocusing due to curvature of the interface, in combination with impedance change at the interface, on energy transfer from the fundamental to the second harmonic.  相似文献

Goos-Hänchen (GH) shifts in the reflected and transmitted light have been discussed in a cavity with four-level quantum system. It is realized that the refraction index of intracavity medium can be negative by manipulating the external coherent laser fields. For the negative refraction index of intracavity medium, the GH shifts of reflected and transmitted light beams have been analyzed in a parametric condition. It is found that due to modulation of laser signals and relative phase between applied fields, large and tunable GH shifts in reflected and transmitted light beams can be obtained.  相似文献

We proposed and demonstrated that PT symmetric metamaterials could be used to achieve enhanced spin Hall effect (SHE) of light. We find that when laser mode is excited in PT symmetric system, the enhanced SHE could be obtained in both transmitted and reflected beams. In addition, as exceptional points (EPs) of PT symmetric system can happen for both p- and s-polarizations, the enhanced SHE of reflected light can function for both horizontally and vertically polarized incident beams. Particularly, these EPs can lead to unidirectional reflectionlessness, asymmetric SHE with maximum contrast ratio of 48 is obtained by launching light beams near EPs. Our work opens up a new path to obtain enhanced transverse displacement for both reflected and transmitted light and enables more opportunities in manipulating photonic SHE.  相似文献

受抑全反射结构中,反射光束和透射光束的古斯汉欣(Goos-Hanchen)位移同时存在,对称双棱镜结构的受抑全反射古斯汉欣位移通常只有波长量级,在实验中很难测量。计算了在入射角大于棱镜与空气界面的临界角小于棱镜与薄膜界面临界角时,镀有电介质膜的对称双棱镜的受抑全反射过程中入射光束的反射系数和透射系数的复数表达式。利用稳态相位法计算得出透射光束和全反射光束的古斯汉欣位移。结果表明,反射光束和透射光束古斯汉欣位移量相同,与入射角大小、薄膜厚度以及空气层厚度有关。在入射角小于但接近棱镜与薄膜界面的临界角,薄膜厚度和空气层厚度一定时,古斯汉欣位移量共振增强达到波长的数百倍。  相似文献

The lateral shift of both the reflected and the transmitted beams are examined for incidence on layered configurations. In particular, beam displacements are evaluated at a layer placed between two different semi-infinite media. We find that the reflected beam may undergo a large displacement, which occurs in either a forward or a backward direction. The transmitted beam is also substantially displaced, but its shift occurs in a forward direction only.  相似文献

The results of measurements using ultrasonic diffraction grating spectroscopy (UDGS) are found to be dependent upon the particle size of the slurry. This illustrates the emergence of a new technique for measuring particle size. Theoretical calculations are underway to describe and predict them as well. The ultrasonic grating surface is in contact with the slurry. The diffraction grating was formed by machining triangular grooves with a periodicity of 483 microm on the flat surface of an aluminum unit with send and receive transducers fastened to it. For this experimental configuration, the ultrasonic beam strikes the back of the grating at an incident angle of 30 degrees and produces a transmitted beam of spectral order m=1 in the slurry. The angle of this transmitted beam changes with frequency and, at the critical frequency of 3.47 MHz, it is located at an angle of 90 degrees. The receive transducer measures the reflected m=0 beam at an angle of 30 degrees. At a frequency slightly less than the critical frequency, the m=1 transmitted beam no longer exists and its energy is shared with all other beams. Therefore, due to energy conservation, the signal in the receive transducer exhibits a peak at the critical frequency. During the transition, the wave interacts with the particles of the slurry and ultrasound amplitude is reduced. Therefore, the peak observed by the receive transducer is reduced, compared to that for water. Data have been obtained for slurries of polystyrene spheres, ranging in size from 215 microm to 463 microm, and for weight percentages of 1-12%. Polystyrene spheres of different diameter show differing amounts of energy loss and thus, particle size identification is possible.  相似文献

The paper shows that the boundary diffraction wave originating at an edge is an omnidirectional cylindrical wave. The experimental set-up used to demonstrate this property employs a He-Ne laser beam. The beam is split into three beams using a glass plate. One of the beams passes straight through, the second beam passes through the glass plate and the third beam is the reflected beam. It is shown that the interference patterns are observed in all three beams. Analysis of these patterns shows that the boundary diffraction wave originating from the edge is an omnidirectional cylindrical wave. This analysis also provides strong evidence that the boundary diffraction wave travels not only within the beam where it originates but also to the neighboring coherent beam. The energy re-distribution was also shown to be dependent on the wavelength of the incident light beam and hence provides further evidence as to why longer wave lengths disperse more compared to shorter wavelengths in white light diffraction by an edge.  相似文献

The behavior of the Goos-Hänchen (GH) shifts of the reflected and transmitted probe light beams is theoretically investigated. In a fixed geometrical configuration, the effect of quantum interference induced by spontaneous emission on the phase control of the GH shifts is analyzed in this paper. It is found that in a four-level N-type atomic system as an intracavity medium, the GH shifts of the reflected and transmitted probe light beam are completely phase dependent.  相似文献

携带轨道角动量的汉克-贝塞尔(Hankel-Bessel,HB)光束具有无衍射和自聚焦特性,用来作为信息传输的载体有望增大信息传输容量.基于Rytov近似理论,推导得到了HB涡旋光束经过海洋水平弱湍流信道后的螺旋相位谱的解析表达式,并利用数值仿真方法研究了海洋湍流参数对轨道角动量模式探测概率的影响.结果表明,海洋湍流导致发射轨道角动量模式的探测概率下降,出现模式串扰和螺旋相位谱扩展.海洋湍流对HB涡旋光束的负面影响随着轨道角动量模式数、传输距离、温度方差耗散率的增加而增强,随湍流动能耗散率的增加而减弱.HB涡旋光束受以盐度波动驱动的海洋湍流的负面影响更大.另外,在弱湍流及几十米传输距离条件下,HB涡旋光束的传输性能要差于最佳束腰大小设置的拉盖尔-高斯涡旋光束.这些结果有望为海洋环境水下光通信链路的实现提供一定的参考价值.  相似文献

It is well-known that the variations of Goos–Hänchen shifts (GHSs) are closely associated with the energy flux provided by evanescent states in the case of total internal reflection. However, when the frustrated total internal reflection (FTIR) is realized with double-prism system operated in the microwave frequency, we observe that the GHSs for the reflected beam show periodic, resembling the phenomenon for transmitted beams reported in the literatures, versus either the operating frequency or the air layer thickness, which is different from the variation of the corresponding reflected energy. Moreover, in another FTIR based system fabricated by a composite absorptive material slab with a two-dimensional top layer of frequency selective surface (FSS), the GHSs for reflected beam are discovered as not only resonant but also negative with the incidence of transverse electric that is TE polarized, just as predicted theoretically in the literatures.  相似文献

A new method of 2D periodic lattices excitation in quadratically nonlinear media with cascade interaction is suggested. It is shown that in such structures the all-optical management of laser beams could be carried out. The reflection and transmission of a finite-power Airy beam incident on a dielectric slab are investigated by an analytical method. Based on the plane-wave angular spectrum expansion and Fresnel approximation, the analytical expressions of the reflected field, internal field as well as transmitted field in each region are obtained. Through numerical simulations, the intensity distributions of the incident beam, reflected beam, internal beam as well as transmitted beam are presented at oblique incidence. Besides, we also compare the intensity distributions of the geometrical-optics beam field, the first order beam mode field and the actual beam field, which indicates that the contribution of each order beam mode field to the actual beam field is related to the refractive index of the dielectric slab. Meanwhile, the reflection characteristics of the Airy beams in the special cases of Brewster incidence and total reflection are investigated. Finally, the effects of the optical thickness and refractive index of the dielectric slab on the peak intensity distributions and beam shifts of the reflected and transmitted beams are also discussed in detail. The analytical and numerical results will be useful to analyze the propagation dynamics of Airy beam in the dielectric slab and provide some theoretical supports to the design of optical film.  相似文献

A novel roll measurement method based on a rectangular-prism is presented. A collimated beam is normally incident upon a rectangular-prism with splitting film, and it is divided into two parts, the reflected and the transmitted beams. The displacements of the reflected and the transmitted beams are measured by two quadrant photoelectric detectors QD1 and QD2, respectively. The displacement change in the y-axis caused by roll can be measured with differential measurements from two quadrant photoelectric detectors. Theoretic analyses show that the crosstalk of straightness errors and yaw errors are avoided, and the crosstalk of the pitch α can be neglected by adopting differential measurements because the direction changes of the reflected and the transmitted beams are both double the changes of pitch. In this way, the stability for the roll measurement can be greatly enhanced. The systemic model is established and the feasibility of such a system is verified by theoretical analysis and experiments. The resolution of 0.3″ and measurement accuracy of 2″ can be obtained by the set-up measurement system.  相似文献

It is theoretically demonstrated that multihelical fibers are capable to change the topological charge of the incoming field by l units in the transmitted and reflected light. The magnitude of the change in the topological charge coincides with the number of coaxial helicoids forming the fiber core. This can be used in designing generators of optical vortices (OVs) from Gaussian beams: broadband ones in transmitted light and narrowband ones in reflected light.  相似文献

Ring-shaped photoinduced light scattering in pure and iron-doped lithium niobate crystals is found and studied under irradiation by a laser beam directed perpendicularly to the optic axis of the crystal. The scattering is observed in the directions of both reflected and transmitted pump beams. The structure and kinetics of the reported photorefractive scattering suggest that the phase-matching condition should be fulfilled in the vector interaction of the pump and scattered beams.  相似文献
