A variety of heterogeneous catalysts for the radical chain oxidation of cyclohexane has been prepared by immobilization of the well-defined cobalt acetate oligomers [py(3)Co(3)(mu(3)-O)(OH)(O(2)CCH(3))(5)](PF(6)) (1) and [py(4)Co(2)(OH)(2)(O(2)CCH(3))(3)](PF(6)) (2) on carboxy-modified mesoporous silica supports A-D by carboxylate exchange. The catalytic oxidation of cyclohexane with tert-butyl hydroperoxide (TBHP) in the presence of these homogeneous and immobilized cobalt acetate complexes afforded the corresponding alcohol and ketone in high yield. The immobilization of 1 and 2 results in a significant increase of catalytic activity. TBHP acts as a radical initiator and as source of molecular oxygen, which is also involved in the overall oxidation process. The rate of cyclohexane conversion is limited by the diffusion of molecular oxygen, and steady-state concentrations of cyclohexanone (K, ketone) and cyclohexanol (A, alcohol) are established; these determine the maximum K:A ratio.  相似文献

Reactions of oxo-centered triruthenium acetate complexes [Ru3O(OAc)6(py)2(CH3OH)](PF6) (py = pyridine, OAc = CH3COO-) (1) with nearly equimolar amounts of dppa [bis(diphenylphosphino)acetylene] or dppen [trans-1,2-bis(diphenylphosphino)ethylene] gave [Ru3O(OAc)6(py)2(L)](PF6) (L = dppa, 2; dppen, 3). With 2.4 equiv of 1, the reactions provided diphosphine-linked triruthenium dimers, [[Ru3O(OAc)6(py)2]2(L)](PF6)2 (L = dppa, 4; L = dppen, 5), respectively. Similarly, the reactions of [Ru3O(OAc)6(L')2(MeOH)]+ [L' = dmap (4-(dimethylamino)pyridine), 1a; L' = abco (1-azabicyclo[2.2.2]octane), 1b] with dppen gave dppen-linked dimers, [[Ru3O(OAc)6(dmap)2]2(dppen)](SbF6)2 (6) and [[Ru3O(OAc)6(abco)2]2(dppen)](BF4)2 (7), respectively. The chemical reduction of 2, 4, and 5 by hydrazine afforded one- or two-electron-reduced, neutral products, Ru3O(OAc)6(py)2(dppa) (2a), [Ru3O(OAc)6(py)2]2(dppa) (4a), and [Ru3O(OAc)6(py)2]2(dppen) (5a), respectively. The complexes were characterized by elemental analyses, ES-MS, UV-vis, IR, and 31P NMR spectroscopies, and cyclic and differential-pulse voltammetries. The molecular structures of compounds 2, 4, 5, 5a, 6, and 7 were determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. In 0.1 M (Bu4N)PF6-acetone, the monomers and dimers of triruthenium clusters show reversible and multistep redox responses. The two triruthenium cluster centers in dimers undergo stepwise reductions and oxidations due to the identical redox processes of the individual Ru3O cluster cores, suggesting the presence of electronic communications between them through the conjugated diphosphine spacer. The redox wave splitting mediated by dppa containing an ethynyl group (C triple bond C) is found to be more extensive than that by dppen containing an ethenyl (C=C) one. It appears that the redox wave splitting is enhanced by the introduction of electron-donating substituents on the auxiliary pyridine rings.  相似文献

Electrochemical and spectroelectrochemical properties of five cobalt(III) acetate complexes [CoIII3(mu3-O)(CH3CO2)5(OR)(py)3][PF6] are described, where py=pyridine and R=OCCH3 (A), H (B), CH3 (C), CH2CH=CH2 (D), and CH2C6H5 (E). Each is reduced irreversibly as observed by cyclic voltammetry at room temperature and at -40 degrees C in acetonitrile at scan rates up to 20 V s(-1), but oxidized reversibly to a mixed-valence Co(III)2Co(IV) species at approximately 1.23 V vs the ferrocenium/ferrocene couple. Controlled potential coulometry confirmed a one-electron-oxidation process. Spectroelectrochemical oxidation of A at 5 degrees C showed isosbestic points in the electronic absorption spectrum that showed the oxidized complex to be stable in solution for at least 1 h.  相似文献

Reaction of oxo-centered triruthenium precursor compound [Ru3O(OAc)6(py)2(CH3OH)](PF6) (1) with 1.3 equiv of bipyridine ligand at ambient temperature gave oxo-centered triruthenium derivatives [Ru3O(OAc)5{micro-eta1(C),eta2(N,N)bipyridine}(py)2](PF6) (bipyridine = 4,4'-dibutyl-2,2'-bipyridine (dbbpy) (2),4,4'-dimethyl-2,2'-bipyridine (dmbpy) (3), 2,2'-bipyridine (bpy) (4), 5,5'-dibromo-2,2'-bipyridine (Br2bpy) (5), 1,10-phenanthroline (phen) (6)). Formation of compounds 2-6 involved substitution of the axial methanol and one of bridging acetates in the precursor compound 1 by an orthometalated bipyridine. Reduction of 2 and 4 by addition of excess hydrazine gave one-electron-reduced neutral products Ru3O(OAc)5(py)2{micro-eta1 (C),eta2(N,N)-bipyridine} (bipyridine = dbbpy (2a), bpy (4a)). As established in the structure of 3 by X-ray crystallography, the orthometalated 2,2'-bipyridine adopts a micro-eta1(C),eta2(N,N) bonding mode. In the 1H NMR spectra of 2-6, the protons of acetate, pyridine, and bipyridine show obvious paramagnetic shifts. Tentative assignments of these proton signals were carried out. Absorption spectra of the bipyridine triruthenium derivatives show characteristic intracluster charge transfer (IC) transitions in the visible to near-infrared region (600-1000 nm) and cluster-to-ligand charge transfer (CLCT) transitions at 320-450 nm. By comparison of the redox data for 2-6, it is concluded that introducing electron-donating substituents to the bipyridine favors stabilizing the [RuIII3]+ and [RuIII2RuII]0 states against disproportionation.  相似文献

Reaction of 1,3-bis(2-pyridinylmethyl)-1H-imidazolium tetrafluoroborate, [H(pyCH(2))(2)im]BF(4), with silver oxide in dichloromethane readily yields [Ag((pyCH(2))(2)im)(2)]BF(4), 1.BF(4)(). 1.BF(4) is converted to the analogous Au(I)-containing species, [Au((pyCH(2))(2)im)(2)]BF(4), 3, by a simple carbene transfer reaction in dichloromethane. Further treatment with two equivalents of AgBF(4) produces the trimetallic species [AuAg(2)((pyCH(2))(2)im)(2)(NCCH(3))(2)](BF(4))(3), 4, which contains two silver ions each coordinated to the pyridine moieties on one carbene ligand and to an acetonitrile molecule in a T-shaped fashion. Monometallic [Ag((py)(2)im)(2)]BF(4), 5, and [Au((py)(2)im)(2)]BF(4), 6, are made analogously to 1.BF(4) and 3 starting from 1,3-bis(2-pyridyl)-imidazol-2-ylidene tetrafluoroborate, [H(py)(2)im]BF(4). Addition of excess AgBF(4) to 6 yields the helical mixed-metal polymer, ([AuAg((py)(2)im)(2)(NCCH(3))](BF(4))(2))(n), 7 which contains an extended Au(I)-Ag(I) chain with short metal-metal separations of 2.8359(4) and 2.9042(4) A. Colorless, monometallic [Hg((pyCH(2))(2)im)(2)](BF(4))(2), 8, is easily produced by refluxing [H(pyCH(2))(2)im)]BF(4) with Hg(OAc)(2) in acetonitrile. The related quinolyl-substituted imidazole, [H(quinCH(2))(2)im]PF(6), is produced analogously to [H(pyCH(2))(2)im]BF(4). [Hg((quinCH(2))(2)im)(2)](PF(6))(2), 9, is isolated in good yield as a white solid from the reaction of Hg(OAc)(2) and [H(quinCH(2))(2)im]PF(6). The reaction of [H(quinCH(2))(2)im]PF(6) with excess Ag(2)O produces the triangulo-cluster [Ag(3)((quinCH(2))(2)im)(3)](PF(6))(3), 11. All of these complexes were studied by (1)H NMR spectroscopy, and complexes 3-9 were additionally characterized by X-ray crystallography. These complexes are photoluminescent in the solid state and in solution with spectra that closely resemble those of the ligand precursor.  相似文献

Reaction of oxo-centered Ru(3)(III,III,III) precursor [Ru(3)O(OAc)(6)(py)(2)(CH(3)OH)](PF(6)) (1) with 1 equiv of 2,2'-azobispyridine (abpy) or 2,2'-azobis(5-chloropyrimidine) (abcp) induced the formation of stable Ru(3)(III,III,II) derivatives [Ru(3)O(OAc)(5){mu-eta(1)(N),eta(2)(N,N)-L}(py)(2)](PF(6)) (L = abpy (2), abcp (3)). As established in the structure of 3 by X-ray crystallography, 2 or 3 is derived from 1 by substitution of the axial methanol and one of the bridging acetates in the parent Ru(3)O(OAc)(6) cluster core with abpy or abcp in an mu-eta(1)(N),eta(2)(N,N) bonding mode. Reduction of 3 by hydrazine induces isolation of one-electron reduced neutral Ru(3)(III,II,II) product Ru(3)O(OAc)(5){mu-eta(1)(N),eta(2)(N,N)-abcp}(py)(2) (3a). As revealed by electrochemical and spectroscopic studies, substituting one of the bridging acetates in the parent Ru(3)O(OAc)(6) cluster core by abcp or abpy modifies dramatically the electronic and redox characteristics in the triruthenium derivatives. Relative to that for the parent compound [Ru(3)O(OAc)(6)(py)(3)](PF(6)) (E(1/2) = -0.46 V), triruthenium-based redox potential in the redox process Ru(3)O(III,III,III)/Ru(3)O(III,III,II) is significantly anodic-shifted to E(1/2) = +0.36 V for 2 and E(1/2) = +0.53 V for 3. Furthermore, the anodic shifts of redox potentials are progressively enhanced with a decrease of the formal oxidation states in the triruthenium cluster cores. As a consequence of remarkable positive shifts for redox potentials, the low-valence Ru(3)(III,III,II) and Ru(3)(III,II,II) species are stabilized and accessible.  相似文献

An attempt has been made to prepare terephthalic acid(TPA) by solvent-free oxidation of p-xylene(PX) with air over tetra(pchlorophenylporphinato) manganese chloride(T(p-Cl)PPMnCl) and cobalt acetate. The co-catalysis between T(p-Cl)PPMnCl and Co(OAc)2 has been discovered under solvent-free conditions.TPA yield could be increased significantly when T(p-Cl)PPMnCl and Co(OAc)2 were used together. The addition of T(p-Cl)PPMnCl into the reaction mixture over Co(OAc)2 significantly accelerated the rate-determining step of the oxidation process of PX to TPA.The effect of temperature on reaction was also investigated.  相似文献

The electron-transfer oxidation and subsequent cobalt-carbon bond cleavage of vitamin B12 model complexes were investigated using cobaloximes, (DH)2Co(III)(R)(L), where DH- = the anion of dimethylglyoxime, R = Me, Et, Ph, PhCH2, and PhCH(CH3), and L = a substituted pyridine, as coenzyme B12 model complexes and [Fe(bpy)3](PF6)3 or [Ru(bpy)3](PF6)3 (bpy = 2,2'-bipyridine) as a one-electron oxidant. The rapid one-electron oxidation of (DH)2Co(III)(Me)(py) (py = pyridine) with the oxidant gives the corresponding Co(IV) complexes, [(DH)2Co(IV)(Me)(py)]+, which were well identified by the ESR spectra. The reorganization energy (lambda) for the electron-transfer oxidation of (DH)2Co(Me)(py) was determined from the ESR line broadening of [(DH)2Co(Me)(py)]+ caused by the electron exchange with (DH)2Co(Me)(py). The lambda value is applied to evaluate the rate constants of photoinduced electron transfer from (DH)2Co(Me)(py) to photosensitizers in light of the Marcus theory of electron transfer. The Co(IV)-C bond cleavage of [(DH)2Co(Me)(py)]+ is accelerated significantly by the reaction with a base. The overall activation energy for the second-order rate constants of Co(IV)-C bond cleavage of [(DH)2Co(IV)(Me)(py)]+ in the presence of a base is decreased by charge-transfer complex formation with a base, which leads to a negative activation energy for the Co(IV)-C cleavage when either 2-methoxypyridine or 2,6-dimethoxypyridine is used as the base.  相似文献

We report reactions of cobalt(II) acetate with a series of ditopic bis(tpy) ligands (tpy = 2,2':6',2'-terpyridine) containing flexible polyethyleneoxy spacers (tpy-4'-O{(CH(2))(2)O}(n)-4'-tpy, n = 2, 3, 4 or 6 ligands 1-4, respectively) which result in the formation of complicated mixtures of species, presumed to be both open chain and cyclic species. Well resolved paramagnetically shifted (1)H NMR spectra are a powerful tool for the analysis of these solution systems. Upon equilibration, [n + n] metallomacrocycles are isolated as the dominant (thermodynamic) species in some cases, and the single crystal X-ray structures of [Co(2)(3)(2)][PF(6)](4)·6MeCN and [Co(2)(4)(2)][PF(6)](5)·2MeCN (a mixed cobalt(ii)/cobalt(iii) species) are presented. Oxidation of the equilibrated cobalt(II) mixtures to kinetically inert cobalt(III) species provides additional evidence for the formation of metallomacrocycles as the thermodynamic products. Single crystal structural data for [Co(3)(2)(3)][PF(6)](9)·2MeCN·3.5H(2)O, [Co(2)(3)(2)][PF(6)](6)·10MeCN and [Co(2)(4)(2)][PF(6)](6)·6MeCN confirm the assembly of [2 + 2] and [3 + 3] metallomacrocycles. PGSE NMR spectroscopy has been used to determine the hydrodynamic radii of the solution species.  相似文献

New ligands H(2)L2-H(2)L6 comprise the cyclen macrocycle which is N,N'-dialkylated at the 1,7-nitrogen atoms by three- and four-carbon alkyl chains bearing terminal sulfonic (C(3) H(2)L2), phosphonic (C(3) H(2)L3, C(4) H(2)L4) or carboxylic acid (C(3) H(2)L5, C(4) H(2)L6) groups, and HL7 is N-monoalkylated by a four-carbon sulfonic acid group. The ligands were prepared by alkylation of a bridged bisaminal intermediate. The syntheses of cobalt(III) complexes containing a tetradentate cyclen, N,N'-1,7-Me(2)cyclen, cyclam or L2-L7 ligand together with the bidentate 8-quinolinato (8QO(-)) ligand, of interest as it is a model for a more potent cytotoxic analogue, were investigated. Coordination of ligands (L) cyclen, N,N'-1,7-Me(2)cyclen or cyclam to cobalt(III) was achieved using Na(3)[Co(NO(6))] to form [Co(L)(NO(2))(2)](+). HOTf (trifluoromethansulfonic acid) was used to prepare the triflato complexes [Co(L)(OTf)(2)](+), followed by substitution of the labile triflato ligands to yield [Co(L)(8QO)](ClO(4))(2) isolated as the perchlorate salts. One further example containing cyclam and the 5-hydroxymethyl-8-quinolinato ligand was also prepared by this method. Complexes containing the pendant arm ligands L2-L6 were prepared from the cobalt precursor trans-[Co(py)(4)Cl(2)](+). Reaction of this complex with H(2)L2·4HCl and 8QOH produced [Co(L2)(8QO)] in one step and contains two deprotonated sulfonato pendant arms. The reaction of H(2)L3·4HBr with [Co(py)(4)Cl(2)](+) gave [Co(L3)]Cl in which L3 acts as a hexadenate ligand with the three-carbon phosphonato side chains coordinated to cobalt. H(2)L5·4HCl bearing three-carbon carboxylic acid pendant arms gave a similar result. The four-carbon ligands were coordinated to cobalt by reaction of [Co(py)(4)Cl(2)](+) with H(2)L4·4HBr or H(2)L6·4HCl to give [Co(HL4)Cl(2)] or [Co(H(2)L6)Cl(2)]Cl, which in turn with 8QOH gave the 8QO(-) complexes [Co(L4)(8QO)] bearing anionic phosphate pendant arms or [Co(H(2)L6)(8QO)]Cl(2) containing neutral carboxylic acid side chains. The reaction of Na(3)[Co(CO(3))(3)] with the mono-N-alkylated ligand HL7·4HCl and then HOTf gave [Co(L7)(CO(3))] and then in turn [Co(L7)(OTf)(2)]. The carbonato complex [Co(L7)(CO(3))] with [8QO](2)[SO(4)] produced [Co(L7)(CO(3))]. All complexes containing L7 bear an anionic sulfonato group on the side chain. The synthesis and characterisation of the six new ligands based on N-alkylated cylen ligand and the cobalt complexes outlined above are described, along with cyclic voltammograms of the 8QO(-) complexes and the molecular structures determined by X-ray crystallography of [Co(cyclen)(H(2)O)(2)](OTf)(3) (formed by aquation of the triflato complex), [Co(cyclen)(8QO)](ClO(4))(2), Co(L2)(8QO)·2H(2)O, Co(L4)(8QO)·6H(2)O and [Co(H(2)L6)Cl(2)]Cl·H(2)O. These demonstrate the coordination of the cyclen ligand in the folded anti-O,syn-N configuration with the N-alkylated nitrogens occupying apical positions.  相似文献

The synthesis and magnetic properties of four new Mn complexes containing tripodal alcohol ligands are reported: [Mn6(OAc)6(H2tea)2(tmp)2].2MeCN (1.2MeCN), [Mn6(acac)4(OAc)2(Htmp)2(H2N-ep)2] (2), [Mn6(OAc)8(tmp)2(py)4].2py (3.2py), and [Mn6(OAc)8(thme)2(py)4].2py (4.2py) [H3tea, triethanolamine; H3tmp, 1,1,1-tris(hydroxymethyl)propane; H2N-H2ep, 2-amino-2-ethyl-1,3-propanediol; H3thme, 1,1,1-tris(hydroxymethyl)ethane]. All complexes are mixed-valent with a [Mn(III)2Mn(II)4] oxidation assignment and are constructed from four edge-sharing triangles but differ slightly in that complexes 1 and 2 display a [Mn(III)2Mn(II)4(mu2-OR)6(mu3-OR)4]4+ core, while complexes 3 and 4 feature [Mn(III)2Mn(II)4(mu2-OR)2(mu3-OR)4]8+ and [Mn(III)2Mn(II)4(mu2-OR)4(mu3-OR)4]6+ cores, respectively. dc and ac magnetic susceptibility studies in the 2-300 K range for complexes 1-4 reveal the presence of dominant antiferromagnetic exchange interactions, leading to ground states of S = 0 for 1 and 2, while complexes 3 and 4 display S = 4 ground states with D = -0.44 and -0.58 cm(-1), respectively. Single-molecule magnetism behavior was confirmed for 3 and 4 by the presence of sweep-rate and temperature-dependent hysteresis loops in single-crystal M vs H studies at temperatures down to 40 mK. Theoretical density functional calculations were used to evaluate the individual pairwise exchange interactions present, confirming the diamagnetic ground states for 1 and 2 and the S = 4 ground states for 3 and 4.  相似文献

The reactivity of cobalt(II) salts towards H(3)L (2-(2-hydroxyphenyl)-1,3-bis[4-(2-hydroxyphenyl)-3-azabut-3-enyl]-1,3-imidazolidine) was studied in different reaction conditions. Accordingly, the interaction of cobalt(II) acetate with H(3)L in methanol gives rise to the discrete complex [Co(III)(2)L(OAc)(2)(OMe)]*1.5H(2)O.MeOH, 1. Reaction of cobalt(II) acetylacetonate with H(3)L in the presence of dicarboxylic acids was also investigated. Thus, when cobalt(II) acetylacetonate and H(3)L are mixed with terephthalic or malonic acid in 4 : 2 : 1 molar ratios, the mixed valent [Co(II/III)(2)L(acac)(p-O(2)CC(6)H(4)CO(2)H)][Co(II/III)(2)L(acac)(OH)]*2H(2)O*2MeOH, 2 and [Co(II/III)(2)L(acac)(O(2)CCH(2)CO(2)H)][Co(II/III)(2)L(acac)(OH)]*7H(2)O, complexes are isolated. Decreasing the pH of the medium, by addition of a second mol of dicarboxylic acid, leads to [Co(II/III)(2)L(O(2)CCH(2)CO(2))(MeOH)]*2MeOH, 4, while the reaction with terephthalic acid does not proceed. 1, 2 and 4 were crystallographically characterised and all the complexes are dinuclear, with hydrogen bonds that expand the initial nodes. The magnetic characterisation, as well as the NMR spectroscopy, indicates a diamagnetic nature for 1, in agreement with the presence of Co(III), showing the aerial oxidation suffered by the cobalt(II) ions. Nevertheless, are paramagnetic. Temperature variable magnetic measurements were recorded for the crystallographically characterised complexes 2 and 4 and these studies confirm the mixed valence Co(II)/Co(III) nature of the compounds. The best fits of the magnetic data give an axial distortion parameter Delta = 628.7 cm(-1) for 2 and 698.8 cm(-1) for 4, and spin-orbit coupling constant lambda = -117.8 cm(-1) for 2 and -107.0 cm(-1) for 4. Therefore, this study shows that the oxidation degree of the initial cobalt(ii) salt by atmospheric oxygen can be controlled according to the pH of the medium.  相似文献

Despite their popularity, electrochemical biosensors often suffer from low sensitivity. One possible approach to overcome low sensitivity in protein biosensors is to utilize multivalent ligand-receptor interactions. Controlling the spatial arrangement of ligands on surfaces is another crucial aspect of electrochemical biosensor design. We have synthesized and characterized five biotinylated trinuclear ruthenium clusters as potential new biosensor platforms: [Ru(3)O(OAc)(6)CO(4-BMP)(py)](0) (3), [Ru(3)O(OAc)(6)CO(4-BMP)(2)](0) (4), [Ru(3)O(OAc)(6)L(4-BMP)(py)](+) (8), [Ru(3)O(OAc)(6)L(4-BMP)(2)](+) (9), and [Ru(3)O(OAc)(6)L(py)(2)](+) (10) (OAc = acetate, 4-BMP = biotin aminomethylpyridine, py = pyridine, L = pyC16SH). HABA/avidin assays and isothermal titration calorimetry were used to evaluate the avidin binding properties of 3 and 4. The binding constants were found to range from (6.5-8.0) × 10(6) M(-1). Intermolecular protein binding of 4 in solution was determined by native gel electrophoresis. QM, MM, and MD calculations show the capability for the bivalent cluster, 4, to intramolecularly bind to avidin. Electrochemical measurements in solution of 3a and 4a show shifts in E(1/2) of -58 and -53 mV in the presence of avidin, respectively. Self-assembled monolayers formed with 8-10 were investigated as a model biosensor system. Diluent/cluster ratio and composition were found to have a significant effect on the ability of avidin to adequately bind to the cluster. Complexes 8 and 10 showed negligible changes in E(1/2), while complex 9 showed a shift in E(1/2) of -43 mV upon avidin addition. These results suggest that multivalent interactions can have a positive impact on the sensitivity of electrochemical protein biosensors.  相似文献

The oxidation state of the chromium center in the following compounds has been probed using a combination of chromium K-edge X-ray absorption spectroscopy and density functional theory: [Cr(phen)(3)][PF(6)](2) (1), [Cr(phen)(3)][PF(6)](3) (2), [CrCl(2)((t)bpy)(2)] (3), [CrCl(2)(bpy)(2)]Cl(0.38)[PF(6)](0.62) (4), [Cr(TPP)(py)(2)] (5), [Cr((t)BuNC)(6)][PF(6)](2) (6), [CrCl(2)(dmpe)(2)] (7), and [Cr(Cp)(2)] (8), where phen is 1,10-phenanthroline, (t)bpy is 4,4'-di-tert-butyl-2,2'-bipyridine, and TPP(2-) is doubly deprotonated 5,10,15,20-tetraphenylporphyrin. The X-ray crystal structures of complexes 1, [Cr(phen)(3)][OTf](2) (1'), and 3 are reported. The X-ray absorption and computational data reveal that complexes 1-5 all contain a central Cr(III) ion (S(Cr) = (3)/(2)), whereas complexes 6-8 contain a central low-spin (S = 1) Cr(II) ion. Therefore, the electronic structures of 1-8 are best described as [Cr(III)(phen(?))(phen(0))(2)][PF(6)](2), [Cr(III)(phen(0))(3)][PF(6)](3), [Cr(III)Cl(2)((t)bpy(?))((t)bpy(0))], [Cr(III)Cl(2)(bpy(0))(2)]Cl(0.38)[PF(6)](0.62), [Cr(III)(TPP(3?-))(py)(2)], [Cr(II)((t)BuNC)(6)][PF(6)](2), [Cr(II)Cl(2)(dmpe)(2)], and [Cr(II)(Cp)(2)], respectively, where (L(0)) and (L(?))(-) (L = phen, (t)bpy, or bpy) are the diamagnetic neutral and one-electron-reduced radical monoanionic forms of L, and TPP(3?-) is the one-electron-reduced doublet form of diamagnetic TPP(2-). Following our previous results that have shown [Cr((t)bpy)(3)](2+) and [Cr(tpy)(2)](2+) (tpy = 2,2':6',2"-terpyridine) to contain a central Cr(III) ion, the current results further refine the scope of compounds that may be described as low-spin Cr(II) and reveal that this is a very rare oxidation state accessible only with ligands in the strong-field extreme of the spectrochemical series.  相似文献

Reaction of divalent hexacoordinate metal ions with either tetradentate N-(2-piridylmethyl)iminodiethanol (3; H2L4) or tridentate N-(2-chlorobenzyl)iminodiethanol (5; H2L5) resulted in the formation of two completely different products. Starting from nickel(II) acetate and tetradentate 3, linear trinuclear complex [[Ni(HL4)]2-Ni(OAc)2(HCO2)2] (4) was formed. However, when tridentate 5 was allowed to react with cobalt(II) acetate, the novel octadecametallic square box [Na2-(Co4(HL5)3(OAc)5]4(HCO2)2] (6) was isolated. Chiral 6 has D2-molecule symmetry and crystalizes with both enantiomers in the unit cell. The structures of all new compounds were determined unequivocally by single-crystal X-ray analyses.  相似文献

The synthesis of the complex [RhCl3tpm*], (1), (tpm*= tris(3,5-dimethylpyrazolyl)methane) is reported. This complex is a suitable starting material for the synthesis of heteroleptic half-sandwich complexes: it has been used to synthesise the complexes; [RhCl(bpy)tpm*][(PF6)2][2][(PF6)2](bpy = 2,2'-bipyridyl), [RhCl(phen)tpm*][(PF6)2][3][(PF6)2]. The structures of [2][(PF6)2], [33][(PF6)2], [4][(PF6)2], and [5][(PF6)2] have been determined by X-ray crystallography. The electrochemical and photophysical properties of these new compounds have also been investigated.  相似文献

The novel ligand DIG(3)tren has three N',N'-diisopropylguanidinyl (DIG) moieties. We report on the structures of two cobalt complexes that show how an isopropylamino group from each DIG acts as a flap that can either close over the metal or rotate away from the metal to open up a site for auxiliary ligand binding. Two of the -NH(iPr) flaps are open in pink [Co(DIG(3)tren)(OAc)]OAc (1), and each of these flaps provides a hydrogen bond to stabilize acetate binding to trigonal bipyrimidal cobalt. To model the heterodinuclear active sites in plant purple acid phosphatases, a mononuclear synthon, [Fe(III)(H(2)IPCPMP)(Cl(2))][PF(6)] (1), has been generated in situ from the ligand 2-(N-isopropyl-N-((2-pyridyl)methyl)aminomethyl)-6-(N-(carboxylmethyl)-N-((2-pyridyl)methyl)amino methyl)-4-methylphenol (IPCPMP) and used to synthesize heterodinuclear complexes of the formulas [Fe(III)M(II)(IPCPMP)(OAc)(2)(CH(3)OH)][PF(6)] (M = Zn (2), Co (3), Ni (4), Mn (5)), [Fe(III)Zn(II)(IPCPMP)(mpdp)][PF(6)] (6) (mpdp = meta-phenylene-dipropionate), and [Fe(III)Cu(II)(IPCPMP) (OAc)}(2)(μ-O)][PF(6)] (7). Complexes 2-4, 6, and 7 have been crystallographically characterized. The structure of 6 is a solid state coordination polymer with heterodinuclear monomeric units, and 7 is a tetranuclear complex consisting of two heterodinuclear phenolate-bridged Fe(III)Cu(II) units bridged through a μ-oxido group between the two Fe(III) ions. Mo?ssbauer spectra confirm the presence of high spin Fe(III) in an octahedral environment for 1, 3, and 5 while 2 and 4 display relaxation effects. Magnetic susceptibility measurements indicate weak antiferromagnetic coupling for 3, 4, and 5 and confirm the assignment of the metal centers in 2-5 as high spin Fe(III)-M(II) (M = Zn, Co (high spin), Ni (high spin), Mn (high spin)). Complexes 2-5 are intact in acetonitrile solution as indicated by IR spectroscopy (for 2-4) and electrospray ionization mass spectrometry (ESI-MS) but partly dissociate to hydroxide species and a mononuclear complex in water/acetonitrile solutions. UV-vis spectroscopy reveal pH-dependent behavior, and species that form upon increasing the pH have been assigned to μ-hydroxido-bridged Fe(III)M(II) complexes for 2-5 although 2 and 3 is further transformed into what is propsed to be a μ-oxido-bridged tetranuclear complex similar to 7. Complexes 2-5 enhance phosphodiester cleavage of 2-hydroxy-propyl-p-nitrophenyl phosphate (HPNP) and bis(2,4-dinitrophenyl)phosphate (BDNPP), but the reactivities are different for different complexes and generally show strong pH dependence.  相似文献

The oxidation of hydrogen bromide and alkali metal bromide salts to bromine in acetic acid by cobalt(III) acetate has been studied. The oxidation is inhibited by Mn(OAc)(2) and Co(OAc)(2), which lower the bromide concentration through complexation. Stability constants for Co(II)Br(n)() were redetermined in acetic acid containing 0.1% water as a function of temperature. This amount of water lowers the stability constant values as compared to glacial acetic acid. Mn(II)Br(n)() complexes were identified by UV-visible spectroscopy, and the stability constants for Mn(II)Br(n)() were determined by electrochemical methods. The kinetics of HBr oxidation shows that there is a new pathway in the presence of M(II)Br(n)(). Analysis of the concentration dependences shows that CoBr(2) and MnBr(2) are the principal and perhaps sole forms of the divalent metals that react with Co(III) and Mn(III). The interpretation of these data is in terms of this step (M, N = Mn or Co): M(OAc)(3) + N(II)Br(2) + HOAc --> M(OAc)(2) + N(III)Br(2)OAc. The second-order rate constants (L mol(-)(1) s(-)(1)) for different M, N pairs in glacial acetic acid are 4.8 (Co, Co at 40 degrees C), 0.96 (Mn, Co at 20 degrees C), 0.15 (Mn(III).Co(II), Co at 20 degrees C), and 0.07 (Mn, Mn at 20 degrees C). Following that, reductive elimination of the dibromide radical is proposed to occur: N(III)Br(2)OAc + HOAc --> N(OAc)(2) + HBr(2)(*). This finding implicates the dibromide radical as a key intermediate in this chemistry, and indeed in the cobalt-bromide catalyzed autoxidation of methylarenes, for which some form of zerovalent bromine has been identified. The selectivity for CoBr(2) and MnBr(2) is consistent with a pathway that forms this radical rather than bromine atoms which are at a considerably higher Gibbs energy. Mn(OAc)(3) oxidizes PhCH(2)Br, k = 1.3 L mol(-)(1) s(-)(1) at 50.0 degrees C in HOAc.  相似文献

A tri-nuclear cobalt(II) cluster, [(CoL)2(OAc)2Co].2C2H5OH, has been synthesized by the reaction of cobalt(II) acetate tetrahydrate with a novel Salen-type bisoxime chelating ligand, 3,3'-dimethoxy-2,2'-[ethylenedioxybis(nitrilomethylidyne)]diphenol (H2L), and characterized by elemental analyses, IR spectra, TG-DTA and molar conductances. UV-vis spectroscopic titration in methanol solution clearly indicated the exclusive formation of the 3:2 [Co3L2]2+ cluster. The single-crystal X-ray diffraction determination of the Co(II) cluster shows that there are two acetate ions coordinate to three cobalt(II) ions through Co-O-C-O-Co bridges, and quadruple mu-phenoxo oxygen atoms from two [CoL] chelates also coordinate to cobalt(II) ions. Interestingly, different conformational central ions: five- and six-coordinated geometries were found in the cluster.  相似文献
