The differences between neutron and proton density distributions at large nuclear radii in stable nuclei were determined. Two experimental methods were applied: nuclear spectroscopy analysis of the antiproton annihilation residues one mass unit lighter than the target mass and the measurements of strong-interaction effects on antiprotonic x rays. Assuming the validity of two-parameter Fermi neutron and proton distributions at these large radii, the conclusions are that the two experiments are consistent with each other and that for neutron rich nuclei it is mostly the neutron diffuseness which increases and not the half-density radius. The obtained neutron and proton rms radii differences are in agreement with previous results.  相似文献

The Spin dependent gluon and sea quark distributions of the proton and the neutron are extracted in the leading order (LO) and the next-to-leading order (NLO) QCD. The relativistic quark exchange model is used to calculate the related valence quark spin dependent structure function. The inverse Mellin transform technique is performed to evaluate the polarized x-dependent distributions of the gluon and the sea quark from the various moments of the valence quarks. It is shown that the calculated spin structure functions (SSF) of the proton and the neutron are in good agreement with the available data, such as E143, SMC, E142, E154 and Hermes experiments. A comparison is also made with the other theoretical models. Finally it is shown that the above calculated parton distributions improve the SSF of the proton and the neutron. An analysis has been made of reaction cross sections for negative pions on a range of nuclei in the momentum region from 20 to 60 GeV/c. Data for C, Al, Sn and Pb are analysed in terms of nuclear sizes. Assuming the neutron and proton distributions in C are identical it is found that for Pb the best agreement with experiment is obtained using neutron density distributions which have similar geometrical parameters to that of the proton distribution. The accuracy with which the neutron distribution can be determined by these experiments is considered. The analysis is also extended to similar measurements for K mesons and antiprotons.  相似文献

The semi-empirical mass formula is extended to include different radii for the proton and neutron distributions. By minimising the energy, the radii are determined. Our model predicts that the proton radius equals the neutron radius for all stable nuclei and that this radius has an accurate A1/2 dependence.  相似文献

In the experiments of the PS209 collaboration at the Low Energy Antiproton Ring LEAR at CERN two methods were applied to study the nuclear periphery: first the yields of residual nuclei with mass number A — 1 were determined with radiochemical methods, and secondly the widths and shifts of the last observable transitions in antiprotonic atoms were measured with Ge detectors. The ratio of yields after annihilation for nuclei with one neutron missing to those with one proton missing from the target nucleus was found to depend strongly on the binding energy of the most loosely bound neutron of the target nucleus. The values were in astonishingly good agreement with a rather simple model for the proton and neutron density distribution devised by Gambhir et al. Furthermore the normalized yield ratio stays constant up to a relative neutron excess of about 0.15 and afterwards rises steeply. Widths for in total 62 x-ray Unes from antiprotonic atoms were compared with the results of calculations of Batty et al. The agreement is reasonable on a semiquantitative basis, but improvements are desirable. For a number of nuclei the differences between the diffuseness values for the proton and neutron distributions were determined directly from the x-ray-line intensity and width data. The root-mean-square radii for the neutron and proton distributions may be derived from these results. The experimental data for four tin isotopes are in reasonable agreement with the experiments of Krasznahorkay et al., but lower than theory predicts.  相似文献

Results of several experiments aimed at exploring the nuclear spatial structure of neutron-rich He and Li isotopes are presented and briefly discussed. The study of the density distributions in these nuclei by small-angle proton elastic scattering at intermediate energy is considered in more detail. The performed investigations allow one to obtain information on the total matter distributions, radii of the matter, neutron and proton distributions, effective and internal core sizes, halo sizes, and spatial correlations of the halo nucleons in the studied nuclei. Properties of the ground states and the excited states of N=127 isotones are investigated by using the nonlinear relativistic mean field theory with the interactions PK1. By analyzing the rms of proton and neutron, the single particle energies of valence nucleon and the density distributions of neutron, proton and the last neutron, it can be found that there exists a neutron halo in the excited states of 3d5/2, 4s1/2 and 3d3/2 in 209Pb. It is also predicted that there exists a neutron halo in the excited states of 3d5/2, 4s1/2 and 3d3/2 in 207Hg, 208Tl, 210Bi and 211Po.  相似文献

Production of light complex particles from the n+~(238) U reaction is analyzed with the exciton model including the improved Iwamoto-Harada pickup mechanism for the preequilibrium process. It is allowed that some of the nucleons forming the complex ejectile come from levels below the Fermi energy, and the intrinsic structure of the emitted particle is taken into account. The equilibrium-state emissions are also considered by using HauserFeshbach theory with the width fluctuation correction and the evaporation model. Moreover, all cross sections,angular distributions, energy spectra and double differential cross sections of neutron, proton, deuteron, triton and alpha emissions for the n+~(238) U reaction are consistently calculated and analyzed with nuclear theoretical models in the energy range En 150 MeV. ENDF-formatted nuclear data including information about the production of light charged particles are obtained.  相似文献

We present a fit to spin asymmetries which gives polarized quark distributions. These functions are closely related to the ones given by the Martin, Roberts and Stirling fit for unpolarized structure functions. The integrals of polarized distributions are discussed and compared with the corresponding quantities obtained from neutron and hyperon??-decay data. We use the combination of proton, neutron and deuteron spin asymmetries in order to determine the coefficients of our polarized quark distributions. Our fit shows that phenomenologically there is no need for taking polarized gluons into account.  相似文献

Based on the new measurements of total, nonelastic, elastic cross section and elastic scattering angular distributions for n+U reactions, a set of neutron optical model potential parameters is obtained in the region of incident neutron energy from 0.1 to 20 MeV. The cross sections, angular distributions, energy spectra and double differential cross sections are calculated and analyzed by optical model, nuclear fission theory, distorted wave Born approximation theory, coupled channel theory, the unified Hauser-Feshbach theory, as well as exciton model. The results indicate that our theoretical model can reasonably analysis n+ 238U reaction data with neutron energy lower than 20 MeV.  相似文献

Neutron and proton transfer cross sections and single-particle energies are converted into rms radii of density distributions via independent particle wave functions.  利用Geant4系统模拟了在高能中子照射下,塑料闪烁光纤中产生的反冲质子的分布特性,分析了入射中子能量分别为2,4,6,8 MeV时,产生的反冲质子能量和方向分布,给出了反冲质子在不同方向上的能量分布。结果表明:向前和向后出射的质子分布不对称;反冲质子的能量在零与入射中子能量之间连续地分布;接近垂直入射方向产生的质子数较多;入射中子能量越高,产生质子数越少;反冲质子的出射角度越小,其能量越大,即沿着入射中子方向的反冲质子能量较大,垂直入射方向的反冲质子能量较小。  相似文献

We present a fit to spin asymmetries which gives polarized quark distributions. These functions are closely related to the ones given by the Martin, Roberts and Stirling fit for unpolarized structure functions. 利用同位旋相关的量子分子动力学,对中能重离子碰撞过程中的中子和质子发射的同位旋效应进行了分析.计算结果表明在有动量相关作用条件下,在很宽的能量和碰撞参数范围内,缺中子碰撞系统的中子(质子)发射数强烈地依赖于同位旋相关的核子–核子碰撞截面,而较弱地依赖于对称势.在对丰中子碰撞系统的研究中,上述规律减弱.这样就可以通过实验上对缺中子碰撞系统的中子(质子)发射数的探测,来提取介质中同位旋相关核子–核子碰撞截面的知识.  相似文献

Using the isospin- and momentum-dependent hadronic transport model IBUU04, we have in-vestigated the influence of the entrance-channel isospin asymmetry on the sensitivity of the pre-equilibrium neutron/proton ratio to symmetry energy in central heavy-ion collisions induced by high-energy radioactive beams. Our analysis and discussion are based on the dynamical simulations of the three isotopic reaction systems 132Sn+124Sn, 124Sn+112Sn and 112Sn+112Sn which are of the same total proton number but different isospin asymmetry. We find that the kinetic-energy distributions of the pre-equilibrium neutron/proton ratio are quite sensitive to the density-dependence of symmetry energy at incident beam energy E/A = 400 MeV,and the sensitivity increases as the isospin asymmetry of the reaction system increases.  相似文献

The quasifree pn-->dvarphi reaction has been studied at the Cooler Synchrotron COSY-Jülich, using the internal proton beam incident on a deuterium cluster-jet target and detecting a fast deuteron in coincidence with the K+K- decay of the varphi meson. The energy dependence of the total and differential cross sections are extracted for excess energies up to 80 MeV by determining the Fermi momentum of the target neutron on an event-by-event basis. Though these cross sections are consistent with s-wave production, the kaon angular distributions show the presence of p waves at quite a low energy. Production on the neutron is found to be stronger than on the proton but not by as much as for the eta meson.  相似文献
