We demonstrate a diode-pumped Nd:YAG ceramic laser with emission at 946 nm that is passively Q-switched by single-crystal Cr4+:YAG saturable absorber. An average output power of 1.7 W is measured under 18.4 W of incident power using an output mirror with transmission T=4%. The corresponding optical-to-optical efficiency is 9.2%. The laser runs at a pulse repetition rate of 120 kHz and delivers pulses with energy of 14 μJ and duration of 80 ns, which corresponds to a peak power of 175 W.  相似文献

An efficient eye-safe GTR-KTP IOPO with the shared cavity configuration and excited by a diode-end-pumped composite Nd:YAG/Cr4+:YAG laser was demonstrated. Under the incident LD power of 8.4 W, the maximum average output power of 900 mW at 1572 nm was obtained with the T=33% output coupler, corresponding to a diode-to-signal conversion efficiency of 10.7%. The corresponding signal pulse width and repetition rate were respectively 2.2 ns and 12 kHz, with the peak power and single pulse energy estimated to be 34.1 kW and 75 μJ, respectively. The instability of the average signal output power over hours-long operation was found to be 2.0%. As for the common KTP IOPO at the same pump condition and cavity design, a lower average output power of 640 mW with a longer pulse width of 4.6 ns was obtained. The corresponding diode-to-signal conversion efficiency was reduced by 28.8% compared with that obtained in GTR-KTP IOPO. A theoretical model for the compact GTR-KTP IOPO was also presented in this paper. Theoretical analysis on the pulse characteristics of the signal was performed, which showed a good agreement with that obtained experimentally.  相似文献

High-peak-power, short-pulse-width diode pumped 946 nm Nd:YAG laser in passively Q-switching operation with Cr4+:YAG is reported. The highest average output power reaches 3.4 W using the Cr4+:YAG with initial transmissivity T0=95%. When the T0=90% Cr4+:YAG is employed, the maximum peak power of 31.4 kW with a pulse width of 8.3 ns at 946 nm is generated.  相似文献

In this paper, we report the experimental results of a pulsed flash lamp Nd:YAG laser at wavelength of 1064 nm and Q-switched by Cr4+:YAG solid state saturable absorber. We have obtained the output energy (E) and pulse- width (τp) of this laser for various initial transmissions of this saturable absorber. Furthermore, the effect of reflectivity of the output coupler (R), diameter of the rod (d), and optical length of the cavity (l) on this laser output data have been investigated. We have used the corner cube as a back mirror, which shows high laser stability and better brightness. We have obtained pulse-width 15 ns with 31 mJ output energy. We have also analyzed this laser theoretically and analytically, which agrees well with our corresponding experimental results.  相似文献

A passively Q-switched a-cut Nd:GdVO4 self-Raman solid-state laser with Cr:YAG saturable absorber was firstly demonstrated. The first Stokes at 1173 nm was successfully obtained. At the maximum incident pump power, the pulse width was about 1.8 ns and the repetition rate was 27.5 kHz. 586.5 nm yellow laser output was also realized by use of an LBO frequency doubling crystal.  相似文献

We present a 2.09 μm single-longitudinal-mode sandwich-type YAG/Ho:YAG/YAG ceramic laser pumped by a Tm-doped fiber laser for the first time. A pair of F-P etalons was used to achieve tunable single-longitudinal-mode operation. The maximum single-longitudinal-mode output power of 530 mW at 2091.4 nm was obtained with an absorbed pump power of 8.06 W, corresponding to an optical conversion efficiency of 6.6% and a slope efficiency of 12.7%. Wavelength tunable was achieved by tuning the angle of etalons and the wavelength could be tuned from 2091.1 nm to 2092.1 nm, corresponding to a tuning frequency of 68 GHz. The M2 factor was measured to be 1.23.  相似文献

We demonstrate the first Cr4+:YAG passively Q-switched c-cut Nd:YVO4 self-Raman laser at 1168.6 nm based on the Stokes shift of 816 cm−1. At the pump power of 4.7 W, the maximum output power of the Stokes line at 1168.6 nm is 270.5 mW, corresponding to an optical conversion efficiency of 5.8%. The pulse width, pulse repetition rate, pulse energy and peak power are 8.8 ns, 35.8 kHz, 7.6 μJ and 0.86 kW, respectively. At the pump of 5.0 W, the Stokes line at 1097.2 nm based on Raman shift of 259 cm−1 also appears.  相似文献

The influence of thermal lens effect on pulse repetition rate in diode-pumped Nd:GdVO4 1.34 μm laser has been demonstrated. The repetition rate first increased, then reduced with augment of the pump power, for V:YAG with initial transmission (T0) of 96%. The maximum repetition rate was 70 kHz, obtained at the pump power of 6.78 W. The best output laser characteristics—the pulse width of 39.2 ns, the peak power of 2.5 kW and the single pulse energy of 102 μJ—were obtained by V:YAG of T0=89%. With the Gaussian spatial distribution of intracavity photon density being considered, the rate equations were solved numerically and the theoretical calculations agreed with the experimental results.  相似文献

In this letter, a diode-pumped continuous-wave and passively Q-switched 1.06 μm laser with a novel composite YVO4/Nd:GdVO4 crystal was demonstrated for the first time. Theoretical calculations showed that the temperature distribution in YVO4/Nd:GdVO4 crystal was lower than that in GdVO4/Nd:GdVO4 and Nd:GdVO4 crystals under the same conditions. After optimizing the mode matching degree, a CW output power of 5.6 W of YVO4/Nd:GdVO4 laser was obtained at the incident pump power of 12 W when the output coupler with transmission of 30% was employed. Using Cr4 +:YAG crystals with initial transmission (T0) of 80% and 90% as saturable absorbers, the pulsed YVO4/Nd:GdVO4 laser characteristics were investigated. At the incident pump power of 12 W, the maximum average output power of 2.76 W and the maximum repetition rate of 189 kHz was achieved when T0 = 90% Cr4 +:YAG was used. The shortest pulse width was 28.1 ns when the initial transmission of the used Cr4 +:YAG was 80%.  相似文献

An electro-optical cavity-dumped 20 Hz Ce:Nd:YAG laser with an optimized thermal-insensitive concavo-convex cavity for aesthetic medicine was demonstrated. The pulse width remained constant at 6.0 ns. The maximum output energy and peak power were 120 mJ and 20 MW, respectively. The average output energy was very stable. The fluctuations of average output energy within 6 cycles and 10 min were 0.89% and 7.9%, respectively.  相似文献

High-power sixth harmonic generation from an Nd:YAG laser (10 ns, 10 kHz) has been achieved with a KBe2BO3F2 (KBBF) prism-coupled device (PCD) containing a 1.95 mm thick KBBF crystal. The highest output power reached 120.5 mW at 177.3 nm, and the highest conversion efficiency from 354.7 to 177.3 nm was 1.82%. Moreover, stable sixth harmonic output with an average power of 22.2 mW was produced by another KBBF-PCD, in which the thickness of the KBBF crystal was 1.51 mm. The highest and stable sixth harmonic output powers are improved by about three and six times compared with the previously published results, respectively.  相似文献

We demonstrate a 980 nm single-mode Yb-doped fiber laser with a 946 nm Q-switched Nd:YAG laser used as the pump source. The experimental arrangement exploited a 36.5 cm length of fiber and used the output from both ends of the cavity, providing a total average output power of 100 mW with a slope efficiency of 38%. In order to increase the coupling efficiency and the practicability of the fiber laser, another experimental setup with single ended output was studied, producing an average output power of 80 mW from a fiber length of 23.5 cm. The pulse duration is 10 ns at a repetition frequency of 16 kHz. The linewidth of the laser is 4 nm, ranging from 977 to 981 nm.  相似文献

A diode end-pumped passively Q-switched Nd:YAG/KTA intracavity Raman laser is presented. A KTA crystal with a size of 5 mm × 5 mm × 25 mm is used as the Raman active medium and its 234 cm?1 Raman mode is employed to finish the conversion from 1064 nm fundamental laser to 1091 nm Raman laser. A 2 mm thick Cr4+:YAG crystal is used as the saturable absorber. With an LD pump power of 7.5 W, the first-Stokes power of 250 mW is obtained with a pulse repetition frequency of 14.5 kHz. The corresponding diode-to-Stokes conversion efficiency is 3.3% and the pulse energy is 17.2 μJ. Pulse width is measured to be 12.6 ns and peak power is 1.4 kW.  相似文献

In this letter, a doubly Q-switched 1.06 μm pulse laser with AO modulator and Cr4+:YAG saturable absorber by direct pumping grown-together composite GdVO4/Nd:GdVO4 crystal is demonstrated for the first time. Compared to purely AO Q-switching, the simultaneous use of AO Q-switch and Cr4+:YAG saturable absorber can generate shorter pulses and more symmetric temporal profiles. The thermal lens effect of laser crystal was analyzed.  相似文献

A Nd:YAG laser passively Q-switched by a Cr:YAG showed a high single pulse energy of 53.0 mJ and 5.1 MW peak power. The laser was pumped by quasi-continuous-wave diode bars from single side. The Q-switched pulse had optical-to-optical efficiency of 12% and average temporal duration of 10.4 ns when Cr:YAG with initial transmission of 9.0% was used. Intense pumping as well as very low initial transmission of the saturable absorber gave very high peak power.  相似文献

The pure semiconductor type single wall carbon nanotubes (SWCNT) was transferred on hydrophilic glass substrate to fabricate saturable absorbers by vertical evaporation technique. The recovery time of the absorber is 350 fs. The saturation intensity of the absorber was found to be 115 μJ/cm2 at 1060 nm. The modulation depth of the absorber could be about 7%. Passive mode-locked Nd:YVO4 laser using this kind of absorber was demonstrated. The largest average output power of the mode-locked laser is 1.4 W at the pump power of 7.8 W. The continuous wave mode-locked pulses with the repetition of 80 MHz were achieved.  相似文献

An LD end-pumped Nd:YAG/SrWO4 continuous-wave 560 nm laser is presented based on intracavity sum-frequency mixing of the fundamental and first-Strokes light. The maximum output power of 330 mW at 559.6 nm was obtained for the diode pump power of 13.7 W and the conversion efficiency was about 2.5%. The intense blue emission was also observed in the SrWO4 crystal when the Raman laser was operating above threshold. This blue emission is centered at 473 nm, which also happened to YVO4.  相似文献

A novel and low-cost wall paper single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) absorber was fabricated by high viscosity of polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) aqueous solution and vertical evaporation technique. Sandwich structure wall paper SWCNT (SSWA-SWCNT) absorber was constructed by a piece of wall paper SWCNT absorber, a piece of round quartz and an output coupler mirror. We exploited it to realize mode locking operation in a diode-pumped Nd: GdVO4 laser. A pulse duration of 9.6 ps was produced with an average power of 870 mW. The stable mode locking operation was obtained when the average power is less than 300 mW.  相似文献

The laser properties of 1.3 μm spectral region in Nd:YAG crystal and their simultaneous dual wavelength threshold condition are investigated. Three types of high power 1.3-μm Nd:YAG quasi continuous wave (QCW) lasers, which operate at 1.319 μm or 1.338 μm single wavelength, 1.319 μm and 1.338 μm simultaneous dual wavelength, are achieved with a maximum average output power of 138 W, 132 W and 120 W, respectively.  相似文献
