Porous composite films containing cellulose nanofibrils (from sisal) and TiO2 nanoparticles (ca. 6 nm diameter) are obtained in a layer-by-layer assembly process. Each layer consists of ca. 0.18 μg cellulose nanofibrils and ca. 0.72 μg TiO2 (determined by QCMB) and adds a thickness of ca. 16 nm (by AFM) to the uniform deposit. The TiO2 nanophase is creating conducting pathways for electrons in a relatively open cellulose structure (ca. 82% open pores) potentially suitable for the immobilization of large redox proteins such as methemoglobin.Methemoglobin is shown to readily adsorb into the cellulose–TiO2 film. However, electrochemical responses for the immobilized methemoglobin in aqueous 0.1 M phosphate buffer at pH 5.5 suggest that facile demetallation occurs. Experiments with Fe3+ in the absence of protein result in voltammetric responses indistinguishable from those observed for immobilized methemoglobin. In the presence of ethylenediamine tetraacetic acid (EDTA) the voltammetric signals for the Fe3+ immediately disappear. Complementary experiments conducted in 0.1 M acetate buffer at pH 5.5 demonstrate that methemoglobin can indeed be immobilized in electrochemically active form and without demetallation loss of the voltammetric signal in the presence of EDTA. Demetallation appears to occur (i) in the presence of phosphate, (ii) at pH 5.5, (iii) and in the presence of a charged surface.  相似文献

We report herein a simple device for rapid biosensing consisting of a single microfluidic channel made from poly(dimethylsiloxane) (PDMS) coupled to an injector, and incorporating a biocatalytic sensing electrode, reference and counter electrodes. The sensing electrode was a gold wire coated with 5 nm glutathione-decorated gold nanoparticles (AuNPs). Sensitive detection of H2O2 based on direct bioelectrocatalysis by horseradish peroxidase (HRP) was used for evaluation. HRP was covalently linked the glutathione–AuNPs. This electrode presented quasi-reversible cyclic voltammetry peaks at ?0.01 V vs. Ag/AgCl at pH 6.5 for the HRP heme FeIII/FeII couple. Direct electrochemical activity of HRP was used to detect H2O2 at high sensitivity with a detection limit of 5 nM in an unmediated system.  相似文献

A composite electrode of Ni-ferrite/TiOx/Si(111) was synthesized by grafting Ni2+Fe2+Fe3+–LDH–TiCl3 (LDH: Layered Double Hydroxides) on n-Si(111) surface and calcined under 1100 °C. Photoelectric research results indicated that the electrode had good photovoltaic effects in an electrolyte solution containing 7.6 M HI and 0.05 M I2, while platinum plate was used as counter-electrode. The observed photo-voltages (Upv) and photocurrent densities (jpc) of the electrode were at ?0.75 V and 5.35 mA/cm2, respectively. Compared with electrodes of oxidized n-Si(111) crystal and n-Si(111) wafer covered by Ni-ferrites, jpc of the electrode Ni-ferrite/TiOx/Si(111) was increased greatly.  相似文献

The photocatalytic degradation of paraquat (1,1-dimethyl-4,4′-bipyridylium dichloride) aqueous solutions in the presence of polycrystalline TiO2 Degussa P25 irradiated by near-UV light was investigated. The substrate and total organic carbon concentrations were monitored by UV spectroscopy and TOC measurements, respectively: the complete photocatalytic mineralization of paraquat (20 ppm) was achieved after ca. 3 h of irradiation by using 0.4 g l−1 of catalyst amount at natural pH (ca 5.8). On the contrary no significant photodegradation of paraquat was observed in the absence of TiO2 under similar experimental conditions. To evaluate the genotoxicity of paraquat and its intermediates produced during heterogeneous photocatalytic treatment, in vitro tests such as Ames test, with and without rat liver microsomal fractions (S9 mix), and micronucleus test, were used. Results obtained with Salmonella typhimurium (strain TA100) showed that paraquat and photocatalytic products were unable to induce gene mutations when photocatalysis was used in the presence of the optimum amount of TiO2, i.e. 0.4 g l−1, whereas an increase of revertants his+ per plate was observed after 300 min irradiation in the presence of very low amount of TiO2 (0.04 g l−1). The negative results from micronucleus test suggest that mutagenic, but non-clastogenic, late intermediates of paraquat photo-oxidation were formed when the photocatalytic runs of paraquat degradation were carried out by using 0.04 g l−1 of photocatalyst.  相似文献

Gold nanoparticles have been prepared by two methods: chemical (ex-situ, Au/C) by two phase protocol, and electrochemical (in-situ, Au/Pani) by electroreduction of gold ions on a polyaniline film and compared as anode catalysts in a glucose microfluidic fuel cell. In this paper the structural characteristics and electrocatalytic properties were investigated by X-ray diffraction and electrochemical measurements. The catalytic behavior of both anodes was tested in a microfluidic fuel cell with a reference electrode incorporated, by means of linear sweep voltammetry (LSV), showing a cathodic shift in the glucose oxidation peak for Au/Pani. Results show a higher power density (0.5 mW cm? 2) for Au/C anode compared with an already reported value, where a glucose microfluidic fuel cell was used in similar conditions.  相似文献

The electrocatalytic oxidation of d-glucosamine (2-amino-2-deoxy-d-glucose) in alkaline and neutral solutions was examined using a carbon felt electrode modified with 2 nm core sized gold nanoparticles (Au2 nm nanoparticles) and a gold plate electrode. The electrocatalytic voltammetric oxidation curves of d-glucosamine were obtained in both solutions. The voltammetric responses for the electrocatalytic oxidation at a Au2 nm nanoparticle-modified electrode in both alkaline and neutral solutions were almost the same to those at a gold plate electrode. The oxidized product was identified to be d-glucosaminic acid (2-amino-2-deoxy- d-gluconic acid) generated by the 2-electron oxidation product of d-glucosamine by electrospray ionization time-of-flight mass spectra (ESI TOF-MS). The HPLC results also indicated that the oxidation product was d-glucosaminic acid. The controlled-potential electrolysis of d-glucosamine was performed at the Au2 nm nanoparticle-modified carbon felt electrodes in both alkaline and neutral solutions. In the alkaline solution, at a potential of −0.2 V, d-glucosaminic acid was formed with a current efficiency of 100%. In the neutral solution, electrolysis at 0.4 V on d-glucosaminic acid was obtained with current efficiencies of 70%.  相似文献

Here we reported that UV light irradiation can significantly enhance sensitivity of Ti/TiO2 electrode for determination of trace heavy metal ions (such as Cu2 +, Pb2 + and Cd2 +) owing to the photodeposition of metal ions on the surface of electrodes. The sensitivity of heavy metal ions can be selectively enhanced over the Ti/TiO2 electrode, which is attributed to matching between potential of heavy metal ions and the position of the conduction band of TiO2.  相似文献

A novel strategy based on the Ugi multicomponent reaction was employed for immobilizing horseradish peroxidase on sodium alginate-coated gold electrode. The electrode was employed for constructing an amperometric biosensor device using 1 mM hydroquinone as electrochemical mediator. The electrode showed linear response (poised at −300 mV vs Ag/AgCl) toward H2O2 concentration between 70 μM and 8.8 mM at pH 7.0. The biosensor reached 95% of steady-state current in about 12 s and its sensitivity was 33.8 mA/M cm2. The electrode retained full initial activity after 30 days of storage at 4 °C in 50 mM sodium phosphate buffer, pH 7.0.  相似文献

Poly (neutral red) nanowires (PNRNWs) have been synthesized for the first time by the method of cyclic voltammetric electrodeposition using porous anodic aluminum oxide (AAO) template and were examined by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and transmission electron microscope (TEM). Moreover, horseradish peroxidase (HRP) was encapsulated in situ in PNRNWs (denoted as PNRNWs–HRP) by electrochemical copolymerization for potential biosensor applications. The PNRNWs showed excellent efficiency of electron transfer between the HRP and the glassy carbon (GC) electrode for the reduction of H2O2 and the PNRNWs–HRP modified GC electrode showed to be excellent amperometric sensors for H2O2 at −0.1 V with a linear response range of 1 μM to 8 mM with a correlation coefficient of 0.996. The detection limit (S/N = 3) and the response time were determined to be 1 μM and <5 s and the high sensitivity is up to 318 μA mM−1 cm−2.  相似文献

A series of W-modified TiO2 (W–TiO2) photocatalysts were synthesized by a simple sol–gel method. The new photocatalysts were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), X-ray fluorescence (XRF), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), UV–vis-diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (DRS), and Brunauer, Emmett and Teller (BET) surface area analyzer. The photoactivity of the W–TiO2 photocatalysts was evaluated by the photocatalytic oxidation of Congo red (CR) dye. It was found that the average size of the prepared photocatalysts is 10 nm. Moreover, they have high surface areas (∼ 216 m2 g−1) and their light-absorption extends to the visible region compared to pure TiO2. The effects of W-loading and of the calcination temperature of the prepared photocatalysts on their photocatalytic activity were also studied. The obtained results show that the W0.5–TiO2 photocatalyst calcined at 350 °C is much highly photoactive than non-doped or highly doped TiO2. The enhanced photocatalytic activity of the weakly doped TiO2 may be attributed to the increase in the charge separation efficiency and the presence of surface acidity on the W0.5–TiO2 photocatalyst.  相似文献

In this work, we have prepared nano-material modified carbon paste electrode (CPE) for the sensing of an antidepressant, buzepide methiodide (BZP) by incorporating TiO2 nanoparticles in carbon paste matrix. Electrochemical studies indicated that the TiO2 nanoparticles efficiently increased the electron transfer kinetics between drug and the electrode. Compared with the nonmodified CPE, the TiO2-modified CPE greatly enhances the oxidation signal of BZP with negative shift in peak potential. Based on this, we have proposed a sensitive, rapid and convenient electrochemical method for the determination of BZP. Under the optimized conditions, the oxidation peak current of BZP is found to be proportional to its concentration in the range of 5 × 10−8 to 5 × 10−5 M with a detection limit of 8.2 × 10−9 M. Finally, this sensing method was successfully applied for the determination of BZP in human blood serum and urine samples with good recoveries.  相似文献

The electrochemical reduction of molecular oxygen (O2) has been performed at gold electrodes modified with a submonolayer of a self-assembly (sub-SAM/Au) of a thiol compound (typically cysteine (CYST)) in O2-saturated 0.5 M KOH. At bare gold electrode O2 reduction reaction proceeds irreversibly, while this reaction is totally hindered at gold electrodes with a compact structure of CYST over its surface. The partial reductive desorption of the compact CYST monolayer was achieved by controlling the potential of the CYST/Au electrode, leading to the formation of a submonolayer coverage of the thiol compound over the Au electrode surface (sub-SAM/Au), at which the CYST molecules selectively block the Au(1 0 0) and Au(1 1 0) fractions (the so-called rough domains) of the polycrystalline Au while the Au(1 1 1) component (the so-called smooth domains) remains bare (i.e., uncovered with CYST). This sub-SAM/Au electrode extraordinarily exhibits a quasi-reversible two-electron reduction of molecular oxygen (O2) in alkaline medium with a peak separation (ΔEp) between the cathodic and anodic peak potentials (Epc,Epa) of about 60 mV. The ratio of the anodic current to the cathodic one is close to unity. The formal potential (Eo) of this reaction is found to equal −150 mV vs. Ag/AgCl/KCl(sat.).  相似文献

The behavior of a modified carbon platinum electrode (Pt) for lead(II) determination by square wave voltammetry (SWV) was studied. The modified electrode is obtained by electrodeposition of hydroxyapatite (HAP) on the surface of a bare platinum electrode. The new electrode (HAP/Pt) revealed interesting electroanalytical detection of lead(II) based on the adsorption of this metal onto hydroxyapatite under open circuit conditions. After optimization of the experimental and voltammetric conditions, the best voltammetric responses-current intensity and voltammetric profile were obtained in 0.2 mol L?1 KNO3 with: 30 min accumulation time, 5 mV pulse amplitude and 1 mV s?1 scan rate. The observed detection (DL, 3σ) and quantification (DL, 10σ) limits in pure water were 2.01 × 10?8 and 6.7 × 10?7 mol L?1, respectively. The reproducibility of the proposed method was determined from five different measurements in a solution containing 2.2 × 10?6 mol L?1 lead(II) with a coefficients of variation of 2.08%.The electrochemical of hydroxyapatite at platinum surfaces was characterized, after calcinations 900 °C, by X-ray diffraction, infrared spectroscopy, chemical and electrochemical analysis.  相似文献

Electrochemical DNA sensor has been fabricated by immobilizing thiolated single stranded oligonucleotide (ssDNA) probe onto gold (Au) coated glass electrode for meningitis detection using hybridization with complementary DNA (CtrA) in presence of methylene blue (MB). These electrodes (ssDNA/Au and dsDNA/Au) have been characterized using atomic force microscopy (AFM), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and cyclic voltammetric (CV) technique. The DNA/Au electrode can detect the complementary DNA in the range of 7–42 ng/μl in 5 min (hybridization) with response time 60 s and electrode is stable for about 4 months when stored at 4 °C. The sensitivity of dsDNA/Au electrode is 115.8 μA/ng with 0.917 regression coefficient (R).  相似文献

The voltammetric response of seleno-l-cystine has been studied at gold substrates under physiological conditions. The reactivity of diselenides is utilized to generate a modified electrode surface, which in turn allows for electroanalysis of solution-based selenium species. Stable and reproducible voltammetry is observed for selenocystine reduction at pH 7 on selenium-modified gold substrates (Emid =  486 mV vs. Ag/AgCl) and is consistent with a diffusionally controlled process. Modification of the gold surface is readily achieved via electrochemical cycling in the presence of a diselenide source at conventional scan rates. These studies afford voltammetric characterization of the selenocystine/selenocysteine redox couple under physiologically relevant conditions and highlight the potential utility of selenium-modified substrates for electroanalysis of chalcogen-containing species.  相似文献

A Y-shaped microfluidic channel is applied for the first time to the construction of a glucose/O2 biofuel cell, based on both laminar flow and biological enzyme strategies. During operation, the fuel and oxidant streams flow parallel at gold electrode surfaces without convective mixing. At the anode, the glucose oxidation is performed by the enzyme glucose oxidase whereas at the cathode, the oxygen is reduced by the enzyme laccase, in the presence of specific redox mediators. Such cell design protects the anode from an interfering parasite reaction of O2 at the anode and offers the advantage of using different streams of oxidant and fuel for optimal performance of the enzymes. Electrochemical characterizations of the device show the influence of the flow rate on the output potential and current density. The maximum power density delivered by the assembled biofuel cell reached 110 μW cm?2 at 0.3 V with 10 mM glucose at 23 °C. The microfluidic approach reported here demonstrates the feasibility of advanced microfabrication techniques to build an efficient microfluidic glucose/O2 biofuel cell device.  相似文献

A new ferrocenecarboxylic acid–C60 composite (Fc–C60) has been synthesized by controlled potential electrolysis. A composite modified glassy carbon electrode has been prepared based on its good electrochemical activity. The modified electrode in 0.1 M NaClO4 solution shows a reversible oxidation wave at E1/2 = 0.32 V (vs. SCE) attributed to the oxidation of the ferrocene entity and a quasi-reversible reduction wave of C60 entity at E1/2 = ?0.54 V (vs. SCE). Electrocatalytic studies show that Fc–C60 at the modified electrode can mediate the reduction of hydrogen peroxide (H2O2), and a broad linear range from 1.2 μM to 21.9 mM for H2O2 were obtained with a determination limit of 2.5 × 10?7 M by amperometry.  相似文献

Ag and Au nanoparticles were found to significantly enhance the photocatalytic activity of self-organized TiO2 nanotubular structures. The catalyst systems are demonstrated to be highly efficient for the UV-light induced photocatalytic decomposition of a model organic pollutant – Acid Orange 7. The metallic nanoparticles with a diameter of ∼10 ± 2 nm (Ag) and ∼28 ± 3 nm (Au) were attached to a nanotubular TiO2 layer that consists of individual tubes of ∼100 nm of diameter, ∼2 μm in length and approx. 15 nm of wall thickness. Both metal particle catalyst systems enhance the photocatalytic decomposition significantly more on the nanotubes support than placed on a compact TiO2 surface.  相似文献

Square-wave adsorptive stripping voltammetry technique was used to determine rosiglitazone (ROS) on the hanging mercury dropping electrode (HMDE) surface, in Britton Robinson buffer, pH = 5. The voltammetric cathodic peak was observed at ?1520 mV vs. Ag/AgCl reference electrode. The voltammetric peak response was characterized with respect to pH, supporting electrolyte, accumulation potential, preconcentration time, scan rate, frequency, pulse amplitude, surface area of the working electrode and the convection rate. Under optimal conditions, the voltammetric current is proportional to the concentration of ROS over the concentration range of 5 × 10?8–8 × 10?7 mol l?1 (r = 0.9899) with a detection limit of 3.2 × 10?11 mol l?1 using 120 s accumulation time. The developed SW-AdSV procedure showed a good reproducibility, the relative standard deviation RSD% (n = 10) at a concentration level of 5 × 10?7 mol l?1 was 0.33%, whereas the accuracy was 101% ± 1.0. The proposed method was successfully applied to assay the drug in the human urine and plasma samples with mean recoveries of 90 ± 0.71% and 86 ± 1.0%, respectively.  相似文献
