理论研究了五能级系统中三光子共振非简并六波混频(NSWM) 由于中间能级加入耦合光场而产生的量子干涉效应. 分析了耦合光场对三光子共振NSWM信号以及频谱的影响. 研究发现, 在强耦合场作用下, NSWM的频谱出现了Autler-Townes分裂, 它反映的是两个缀饰态的能级, 量子干涉可以使NSWM信号被抑制或增强. 提出利用量子干涉对NSWM信号产生增强作用, 可以由耦合场产生的缀饰态代替原子固有能级, 成为三光子共振的中间态, 从而控制耦合场来选择三光子共振的中间态的位置.  相似文献

在微波场闭合的三能级Lambda系统中计算了弱探测场的吸收和色散特性,发现闭合原子系统中的量子干涉导致弱探测场的吸收和色散特性依赖于施加场的相对位相。通过调节相对位相,获得了大的无反转增益和零吸收的高折射率。在三光子非共振的情况下,探测增益和吸收呈现随时间的振荡行为。  相似文献

We extend the third perturbation theory to study the polarization control behavior of the intermediate state absorption in Nd~(3+)ions. The results show that coherent interference can occur between the single-photon and three-photon excitation pathways, and depends on the central frequency of the femtosecond laser field. Moreover,single-photon and three-photon absorptions have different polarization control efficiencies, and the relative weight of three-photon absorption in the whole excitation processes can increase with increasing the laser intensity.Therefore, the enhancement or suppression of the intermediate state absorption can be realized and manipulated by properly designing the intensity and central frequency of the polarization modulated femtosecond laser field.This research can not only enrich theoretical research methods for the up-conversion luminescence manipulation of rare-earth ions, but also can provide a clear physical picture for understanding and controlling multi-photon absorption in a multiple energy level system.  相似文献

We study the interaction of an asymmetric double semiconductor quantum dot molecule with a weak probe field and a strong pump field. We show that the optical properties of the system are controlled by a gate voltage and the pump field. For example, we find that the application of the pump field leads to controlled probe absorption, optical transparency, and gain for weak tunneling rates, while for stronger tunneling rates optical gain disappears and absorption spectra with double peaks are formed.  相似文献

We study the absorption spectra of a degenerate V-type atom, where a resonant driving field and a probe field drive different branches of transitions and a dc field is applied to drive the transition between two excited states. The effects of vacuum induced coherence (VIC) on the absorption spectra are investigated. It is demonstrated that in some special cases the VIC can lead to the depression of absorption and narrow resonance. The origin of these features are discussed. When the pump field and the dc field have the same intensity, it is interesting to find that the whole absorption spectrum comes mainly from the absorptions induced by the interferences among different transitions between dressed states.  相似文献

We have considered the interference spectra that occur at the three-photon generated frequency arising from the interaction of three laser fields with a four-level atom, where two of the laser fields are on two-photon resonance with the three levels forming a “λ” scheme while the third laser operates between the second ground and the second excited state of the atom. At low intensities of all three laser fields, the overall intensity of the peak at the three-photon generated frequency, describing the spectrum of an electron in the second excited state, depends on the strength of the combined field of the two laser fields that are on two-photon resonance and it takes negative values. This indicates that light amplification without population inversion is likely to occur at the three-photon generated frequency. The combined field of the three laser fields induces multiphoton excitations near the three-photon generated frequency, whose peaks are characterized by linewidths which are much less than the natural linewidths of the atoms. These excitations describe absorption or stimulating emission processes depending on the values of the detunings of the laser fields. The derived results are graphically presented and discussed. We present a review of the development of a compact and high-power broadband terahertz (THz) source optically excited by a femtosecond photonic crystal fiber (PCF) amplifier.The large mode area of the PCF and the stretcher-free configuration make the pump source compact and very efficient.Broadband THz pulses of 150 μW extending from 0.1 to 3.5 THz are generated from a 3-mm-thick GaP crystal through optical rectification of 12-W pump pulses with duration of 66 fs and a repetition rate of 52 MHz.A strong saturation effect is observed,which is attributed to pump pulse absorption;a Z-scan measurement shows that three-photon absorption dominates the nonlinear absorption when the crystal is pumped by femtosecond pulses at 1 040 nm.A further scale-up of the THz source power is expected to find important applications in THz nonlinear optics and nonlinear THz spectroscopy.  相似文献

We investigate two-dimensional (2D) electron localization via phase-controlled absorption and gain of a weak probe field in an asymmetric semiconductor three-coupled quantum well (TCQW) with a closed loop under the action of two orthogonal standing-wave fields. It is found that we can achieve high-precision and high-resolution 2D electron localization via properly varying the parameters of the system. The influences of direct one-photon transition and indirect three-photon transition on the precision of probe absorption–gain spectra are also discussed in details. Thus, the proposed scheme shows the underlying probability for the formation of the 2D electron localization in a solid.  相似文献

We present the experimental and theoretical study of colored conical emission (CCE) during intense femtosecond pulses propagating in a β-barium borate (BBO) crystal. CCE revealed special nonlinear dynamics of the strong coupling between the fundamental and second harmonic pulses due to the spatiotemporal modulation instability (MI). The underlying physics of CCE involve three three-photon processes, according to which the beam angular spectra was calculated on the phase-matching conditions and accords with the experimental observation.  相似文献

We study the interaction of a three-level atom with a single-mode field in a cavity. We take explicitly into account the existence of the forms of nonlinearities of both the field and the intensity-dependent atom-field coupling. The wavefunction for the atomic system of the Ξ configuration is obtained when the atom is initially prepared in the excited state. The electromagnetic field may assume a squeezed coherent or binomial state. The analytical forms of the fluorescence and absorption spectra are calculated using the dressed states of the system. We investigate the influences of the mean number of photons, detunings, and the nonlinearities forms on the spectrum of the resulting field states. It is shown that the features of the fluorescence and absorption spectra are influenced significantly by the kinds of nonlinearities.  相似文献

We propose a scheme for creating electromagnetically induced grating in a four-level double- Λ atomic system driven by a coupling field and an incoherent pump field. Owing to the incoherent pumping process, large refractivity accompanied with vanishing absorption or even gain across the probe field can be built up in the atoms, thus phase grating or gain-phase grating, which diffracts a probe light into different directions, can be formed with the help of a standing-wave coupling field. The diffraction efficiency of the gratings can be tuned by the coupling field intensity and the incoherent pump rate, hence the proposed gratings should be suitable for beam splitter and optical switching in optical communication and networking.  相似文献

We report a three-photon resonant nondegenerate six-wave mixing (NSWM) in a dressed cascade five-level system. It has advantages that phase match condition is not stringent and NSWM signal is enhanced tremendously due to the multiple resonance with the atomic transition frequencies. In the presence of a strong coupling field, the threephoton resonant NSWM spectrum exhibits" Autler-Townes splitting. This technique provides a spectroscopic tool for measuring not only the resonant frequency and dephasing rate but also the transition dipole moment between two highly excited atomic states.  相似文献

We present and implement a new scheme for extended multichannel selective femtosecond coherent control based on symmetry properties of the excitation channels. Here, an atomic nonresonant two-photon absorption channel is coherently incorporated in a resonance-mediated (2+1) three-photon absorption channel. By proper pulse shaping, utilizing the invariance of the two-photon absorption to specific phase transformations of the pulse, the three-photon absorption is tuned independently over an order-of-magnitude yield range for any possible two-photon absorption yield. Noticeable is a set of "two-photon dark pulses" inducing widely tunable three-photon absorption.  相似文献

采用掺镱光子晶体光纤飞秒激光放大器为抽运源,搭建了偏振分辨的Z-scan实验系统.实验研究了块状本征磷化镓(GaP)晶体的非线性吸收和非线性折射率系数.研究证明,在中心波长1 μm飞秒激光的作用下,本征GaP晶体的非线性吸收主要为三光子吸收.而且还表明本征GaP的非线性吸收和非线性折射率系数具有很强的各项异性、偏振相关性及饱和特性. 关键词: 磷化镓 Z-scan Kerr效应 三光子吸收  相似文献

We report direct nanoscale imaging of ultrafast plasmon in a gold dolmen nanostructure excited with the 7fs laser pulses by combining the interferometric time-resolved technology with the three-photon photoemission electron microscopy(PEEM).The interferometric time-resolved traces show that the plasmon mode beating pattern appears at the ends of the dimer slabs in the dolmen nanostructure as a result of coherent superposition of multiple localized surface plasmon modes induced by broad bandwidth of the ultrafast laser pulses.The PEEM measurement further discloses that in-phase of the oscillation field of two neighbor defects are surprisingly observed,which is attributed to the plasmon coupling between them.Furthermore,the control of the temporal delay between the pump and probe laser pluses could be utilized for manipulation of the near-field distribution.These findings deepen our understanding of ultrafast plasmon dynamics in a complex nanosystem.  相似文献

The nonlinear gain and dispersion spectra of a four-level Λ-type system, which driven by a weak probe field and coupling field, is investigated. Using the perturbation method, third-order perturbation iterative solutions of the steady density matrix equations are obtained. We find that effect of the SGC on the nonlinear gain and dispersion are negligible. At the resonant coupling, nonlinear dispersion spectra of the two transition paths are symmetrical about a line, but the nonlinear absorption spectra are symmetrical about a point. The degeneration of the two lower states greatly modifies the nonlinear gain and dispersion spectra.  相似文献

An analytical expression of the emission and absorption spectra for a Λ type three-level cavity-bound atom interacting with a two-mode cavity field is given using the dressed states of the system. We take into account explicitly the nonlinearities of both the field and the intensity-dependent atom-field coupling. The characteristics of the emission and absorption spectra when one of the two-mode cavity fields is in a binomial state and the other is in a squeezed coherent state are exhibited.
