In this paper, we showed that split-ring resonator (SRR) pairs can be used as broadband planar left-handed metamaterials (LHMs). Simulations were carried out for one layer of infinite LHM slab using SRR pairs. The results showed that by carefully adjusting dimensions of the SRR pairs, magnetic and electric resonances can be coexistent at some frequency ranges and in the frequency range where there are both negative magnetic and electric responses, there is a broad LH band. Equivalent circuits for the magnetic and electric resonance were offered to give a qualitative and quantitative explanation of the LH behaviors of LHMs using SRR pairs.  相似文献

In this paper, we numerically study a new type of infrared resonator structure, whose unit cell consists of paired split-ring resonators (SRRs). At different resonant frequencies, the magnetic dipoles induced from the two SRRs within one unit cell can be parallel or antiparallel, which are defined as symmetric and antisymmetic modes, respectively. Detailed simulation indicates that the symmetric mode is due to magnetic coupling to resonators, in which the effective permeability could be negative. However, the antisymmetric mode originating from strong electric coupling may contribute to negative effective permittivity. Our new electromagnetic resonators with pronounced magnetic as well as electric responses could provide a new pathway to design negative index materials (NIMs) in the optical region. In this paper, a polarization-dependent wide-angle three-dimensional metamaterial absorber with a near-unity absorbance was presented. The metamaterial absorber structure is composed of coplanar electric and magnetic resonators. By carefully adjusting the structural dimensions, less-than-unity ε and/or μ can be realized. To match the impedance of free space, the structural dimensions were adjusted so that ε=μ, which guarantees minimum reflection. Since the resonance-based structure is made of metallic resonators and lossy substrates, the imaginary part of refractive index is large, which guarantees strong absorption of transmitted waves. Full-wave simulations confirmed the effectiveness of the proposed three-dimensional metamaterial absorber.  相似文献

用磁谐振器和电谐振器组合构成左手材料是设计左手材料的一个重要方法.基于这一设计方法,提出了能够抑制双各向异性的磁谐振器和电谐振器设计原理,即单回路镜像对称设计原理和双(四)回路镜像对称设计原理.根据这两个设计原理,设计了具有双负特性(负介电常数和负磁导率)的新结构,并通过实验仿真验证了结构的双负特性,从而验证了两种设计原理的正确性.所提出的两个设计原理以及新结构对于设计新型左手材料具有重要的实际意义和指导意义. 关键词: 左手材料 单回路镜像对称 双回路镜像对称  相似文献

理论和实验研究表明,开口谐振环(SRRs)中可以激励磁谐振从而实现负磁导率.通过在SRRs结构中引入与其开口边平行的金属短杆设计并制备了新的磁谐振单元,采用波导法系统研究了短杆对SRRs和左手材料的微波透射特性以及左手效应的影响.实验和数值模拟表明:金属短杆和SRRs开口边形成附加电容,导致SRRs开口电容增大从而引起谐振频率降低.随短杆长度l和短杆与SRRs间距d的增大,SRRs谐振频率也随之减小和增加.短杆的加入不影响SRRs的负磁导率特性,改变短杆与SRRs间距d< 关键词: 开口谐振环 金属短杆 调控 左手材料  相似文献

In this paper, it is demonstrated that the so-called electric-LC (ELC) resonators, and their dual counterparts, the magnetic-LC (MLC) resonators, are useful for the selective suppression of either the differential or the common mode in microstrip differential lines. The key point to mode suppression is the alignment of the resonator with the electric (differential mode) or magnetic (common mode) wall of the line. It is shown that by simply rotating the resonators 90° we can selectively choose the suppressed mode in the vicinity of the resonator’s fundamental resonance frequency. The theory is validated through full-wave electromagnetic simulation, the lumped element equivalent circuit models of the proposed structures and experimental data.  相似文献

We review some of the techniques that lead to the effective medium representation of a three-dimensional (3D) periodic metamaterial. We consider a 3D lattice of lead telluride cubic resonators at mid-infrared (MIR) frequencies. Each cubic resonator is modeled with both an electric and a magnetic dipole, through a method called the dual dipole approximation. The electric and magnetic polarizabilities of a cubic resonator are computed via full-wave simulations by mapping the resonator's scattered field under electric/magnetic excitation only to the field radiated by an equivalent electric/magnetic dipole. We then analyze the allowed modes in the lattice, with transverse polarization and complex wavenumber, highlighting the attenuation that each mode experiences after one free space wavelength. We observe the presence of two modes with low attenuation constant, dominant in different frequency ranges, able to propagate inside the lattice: this allows the treatment of the metamaterial as a homogeneous material with effective parameters, evaluated by using various techniques. We then show that the metamaterial under analysis allows for the generation of artificial magnetism (i.e., relative effective permeability different than unity, including negative permeability with low losses) at MIR frequencies.  相似文献

量子纠缠是实现量子计算和量子通信的核心基础,本文提出了在金刚石氮-空位色心(NV centers)自旋系综与超导量子电路耦合的混合系统中实现两个分离量子节点之间纠缠的理论方案.在该混合系统中,把金刚石NV centers自旋系综和与之耦合的超导共面谐振器视为一个量子节点,两个量子节点之间通过一个空的超导共面谐振器连接.具有较长相干时间的NV centers自旋系综作为一个量子存储器,用于制备、存储和发送量子信息;易于外部操控的超导量子电路可执行量子逻辑门操作,快速调控量子信息.为了实现两个分离量子节点之间的纠缠,首先对系统的哈密顿量进行正则变换,将其等价为两个NV centers自旋系综与同一个超导共面谐振器之间的JC耦合;然后采用NV centers自旋-光子混合比特编码的方式,通过调节超导共面谐振器的谐振频率,精确控制体系演化时间,高保真度地实现了两个分离量子节点之间的量子纠缠.本方案还可以进一步扩展和集成,用于构建多节点纠缠的分布式量子网络.  相似文献

In this paper, we present a design, simulation and experimental measurement of a metamaterial absorber (MMA) in the microwave regime. The proposed MMA structure consists of periodic cross electric resonators separated from the ground metal plane using a magnetic composite layer. The broadband absorption can be ascribed to the periodic cross electric resonators. The anti-parallel currents are observed at the peak frequency on the surface of the MMA and the ground metal plane, respectively, and thus the coupled resonance magnetic field occurs in the magnetic medium resulting in the magnetic loss. The new absorption peak located at 2.8 GHz broadens the whole absorption spectrum. The frequency of this peck is lower than that of the cross resonator of 3.7 GHz, suggesting the distinguish resonance mechanism: the absorbing properties are ascribed to the phase cancellation, Ohmic loss, dielectric loss at the end of the cross pattern, and the magnetic loss caused by the above mentioned coupled magnetic field. The obvious absorption peak at 2.8 GHz is also observed experimentally verifying the simulation result. All these results indicate the proposed MMA structure is promising for microwave absorbing application.  相似文献

We proposed and numerically investigated the influence of spatial topology on the infrared frequency region response of chiral metamaterials based on discrete deformed split ring resonators. Compared with the well studied continuous helix, the proposed metamaterials with discrete topology exhibit broad band chiral electromagnetic response. It is shown that the conversion between left and right circular polarization waves for our model is much broader than the continuous helix model. The observed cross-coupling between electric and magnetic fields results from the chiral electric currents on the resonators due to the broken mirror symmetry. The findings are useful for the design of future real three-dimensional chiral metamaterials with tunable optical response.  相似文献

Optical resonators are important devices that control the properties of light and manipulate light–matter interaction. Various optical resonators are designed and fabricated using different techniques. For example, in coupled resonator optical waveguides, light energy is transported to other resonators through near‐field coupling. In recent years, magnetic optical resonators based on LC resonance have been realized in several metallic microstructures. Such devices possess stronger local resonance and lower radiation loss compared with electric optical resonators. This study provides an overall introduction on the latest progress in coupled magnetic resonator optical waveguide (CMROW). Various waveguides composed of different magnetic resonators are presented and Lagrangian formalism is used to describe the CMROW. Moreover, several interesting properties of CMROWs, such as abnormal dispersions and slow‐light effects, are discussed and CMROW applications in nonlinear and quantum optics are shown. Future novel nanophotonic devices can be developed using CMROWs.  相似文献

铁电薄膜的介电常数随外加电场强度的增加而减小.依据铁电薄膜的这一特性,提出了一种新颖的基于共面传输线结构的铁电薄膜可调带通滤波器.为了减小传输损耗,滤波器的导体部分由超导薄膜构成.滤波器的输入输出采用抽头线的方式分别与谐振器相接,外加电压通过输入输出端口直接施加到共面谐振器缝隙处的铁电薄膜上,用以改变铁电薄膜的介电常数,从而改变谐振器的谐振频率,实现带通滤波器通带频率的移动.这种新型可调带通滤波器具有结构紧凑、尺寸小及施加外加偏压容易等优点.仿真结果表明:铁电薄膜的介电常数在外加偏压下从250减小到150时,带通滤波器的传输特性曲线的形状基本保持不变,通带的中心频率从10.283GHz增加到10.518GHz,其3dB带宽保持在0.150GHz左右,反射损耗始终小于-17dB.  相似文献

We propose that the losses in left-handed materials (LHMs) can be significantly affected by changing the coupling relationship between electric and magnetic resonance. A double bowknot shaped structure (DBS) is used to construct the LHMs. And the magnetic resonance of the DBS, which resonated in the case of lower and higher frequencies than the electric resonant dip, is studied in simulation and experiment by tailoring the structural parameters. The case of magnetic resonance located at low electric resonance frequencies band is confirmed to have relatively low losses. Using full wave simulation of prism shaped structure composed of DBS unit cells, we prove the negative refraction behavior in such a frame. This study can serve as a guide for designing other similar metal–dielectric–metal (MDM) in low losses at terahertz or higher frequencies.  相似文献

In this work,we propose an all-dielectric frequency selective surface(FSS) composed of periodically placed highpermittivity dielectric resonators and a three-dimensional(3D) printed supporter.Mie resonances in the dielectric resonators offer strong electric and magnetic dipoles,quadrupoles,and higher order terms.The re-radiated electric and magnetic fields by these multipoles interact with the incident fields,which leads to total reflection or total transmission in some special frequency bands.The measured results of the fabricated FSS demonstrate a stopband fractional bandwidth(FBW)of 22.2%,which is consistent with the simulated result.  相似文献

In this paper, we explored magnetic monopole-like responses in metamaterials. We designed a sub-wavelength metamolecule that is composed of two dielectric-spaced split-ring resonators. In response to incident waves, the induced magnetic field in the metamolecule resembles that of a two-dimensional magnetic monopole. The magnetic monopole-like response is resulted from electric resonance of the metamolecule, so an electric dipole is always attached. By combining two mirror-symmetric metamolecules with inward and outward radial magnetic fields, magnetic dipole-like responses can be produced just as an electric dipole is formed by separating two opposite-signed electric charges.  相似文献

A planar left-handed metamaterial(LHM) composed of electric resonator pairs is presented in this paper.Theoretical analysis,an equivalent circuit model and simulated results of a wedge sample show that this material exhibits a negative refraction pass-band around 9.6GHz under normal-incidence and is insensitive to a change in incidence angle.Furthermore,as the angle between the arm of the electric resonators and the strip connecting the arms increases,the frequency range of the pass-band shifts downwards.Consequently,this LHM guarantees a relatively stable torlerence of errors when it is practically fabricated.Moreover,it is a candidate for designing multi-band LHM through combining the resonator pairs with different angles.  相似文献

利用平板波导法研究了不同入射角度下周期排列开口谐振环负磁导率材料、周期排列金属杆负介电常数材料以及左手材料微波反射特性,并利用劈尖法研究了左手材料的负折射特性.实验结果表明:负磁导率材料反射率曲线形成反射峰,其对应的反射峰频率与材料的谐振频率一致;负介电常数材料反射率接近0dB;左手材料出现单个反射较小的反射峰,其峰值反射率随入射角度的增大而变大,即反射能力增强,且反射峰与透射峰有相对频移.劈尖法测量还表明,左手材料在9800MHz频率附近出现负折射现象,其折射率n为-0.796. 关键词: 左手材料 反射 负折射率  相似文献

A multi-band absorber composed of high-permittivity hexagonal ring dielectric resonators and a metallic ground plate is designed in the microwave band.Near-unity absorptions around 9.785 GHz,11.525 GHz,and 12.37 GHz are observed for this metamaterial absorber.The dielectric hexagonal ring resonator is made of microwave ceramics with high permittivity and low loss.The mechanism for the near-unity absorption is investigated via the dielectric resonator theory.It is found that the absorption results from electric and magnetic resonances where enhanced electromagnetic fields are excited inside the dielectric resonator.In addition,the resonance modes of the hexagonal resonator are similar to those of standard rectangle resonators and can be used for analyzing hexagonal absorbers.Our work provides a new research method as well as a solid foundation for designing and analyzing dielectric metamaterial absorbers with complex shapes.  相似文献

In this paper, the electric and the magnetic dipole couplings between the outer and the inner rings of a single split ring resonator (SRR) are investigated. We numerically demonstrate that the magnetic resonance frequency can be substantially modified by changing the couplings of the electric and magnetic dipoles, and give a theoretical expression of the magnetic resonance frequency. The results in this work are expected to be conducive to a deeper understanding of the SRR and other similar metamaterials, and provide new guidance for complex metamaterials design with a tailored electromagnetic response.  相似文献
