The ADS(Accelerator Driven subcritical System) driver linac in China is designed to run in CW(Continuous Wave) mode with 10 m A designed beam current. In this scenario, the beam-induced parasitic modes in the ADS driver linac may make the beam unstable or deteriorate the beam performance. To evaluate the parasitic mode effect on the beam dynamics systematically, simulation studies using the ROOT-based numerical code SMD have been conducted. The longitudinal beam instability induced by the HOMs(High Order Modes) and SOMs(Same Order Modes) has little effect on the longitudinal beam performance for the current ADS driver linac design based on the 10 Me V/325 MHz injector I from previous studies. Here the transverse parasitic mode(i.e., dipole HOM)effect on the transverse beam performance at the ADS driver linac exit is investigated. To more reasonably quantify the dipole mode effect, the multi-bunch effective emittance is introduced in this paper.  相似文献

The ADS accelerator in China is a Continuous-Wave(CW) proton linac with 1.5 Ge V beam energy,10 m A beam current, and 15 MW beam power. To meet the extremely low beam loss rate and high reliability requirements, it is very important to study the beam halo caused by beam mismatch, which is one major sources of beam loss. To avoid envelope instability, the phase advances per period are all smaller than 90 degrees in the main linac design. In this paper, simulation results of the emittance growth and the envelope oscillations caused by mismatch in the main linac section are presented. To meet the emittance growth requirement, the transverse and longitudinal mismatch factors should be smaller than 0.4 and 0.3, respectively.  相似文献

Analytical formulae for phase-locked partially coherent flattened beam array propagating in a turbulent atmosphere are derived based on the extended Huygens–Fresnel principle. Beam propagation factor (BPF) is introduced to evaluate the beam quality at the receiving plane. The influence of beam order, transverse coherence width length and the intensity of turbulence is discussed in detail.  相似文献

报告了北京自由电子激光器(BFEL)从30MeV直线加速器出口到摇摆磁铁出口束流输运段的束流截面监测系统。该系统由四台遥控气动可伸缩荧光屏探头、光学放大系统、闭路电视摄象系统及视频图象处理系统组成。利用该系统进行模拟实验,其系统空间分辨率约100μm,达到BFEL总体要求。利用该系统可以测量摇摆磁铁入口处及内部电子束和准直激光的截面、位置和畸变,进行束流准直、聚焦和发射度测量。  相似文献

To merge the beam from either of the two injectors to the main linac, a dog-leg system will be employed in the second Medium Energy Beam Transport(MEBT2) line of the China ADS driving accelerator. The achromatic condition has to be guaranteed to avoid beam center excursion against energy jitter. RF cavities were found to be indispensable to control the bunch length growth in the dog-leg system of MEBT2. The full uncoupling between transverse and longitudinal plane is desired to minimize the growth of projected rms emittances. The uncoupled achromatic condition of this dogleg system with the presence of RF bunching cavities will be deduced using the transfer matrices method. It is found that, to fulfill the uncoupling condition, the distance between the bunching cavities is uniquely determined by the maximum energy gain of the RF cavities. The theoretical analysis is verified by the simulation code TraceWin. The space charge effect on the uncoupled achromatic condition and the beam emittance growth will also be discussed.  相似文献

 针对一台用于加速器驱动洁净核能源系统研究、高占空比的强流质子加速器,开展强流质子直线加速器束晕产生的研究工作,其中的束流剖面分布特别是束晕部分测量的束流诊断系统是研究工作的核心内容。束晕的产生在低能量段尤其重要,且对整个直线加速器的设计有重要影响。介绍了研究束晕增长的束流输运线和测量系统的布局设计,并根据所研究的加速器束流的情况进行束流剖面探测器和束晕测量的设计和预研,包括丝靶材料的模拟计算和选择、机械驱动的控制系统设计和研究、前端模拟电路的设计和仿真模拟、以及整个系统与EPICS和VxWorks的计算机控制接口等。  相似文献

At BARC, development of a Low Energy High Intensity Proton Accelerator (LEHIPA), as front-end injector of the 1 GeV accelerator for the ADS programme, has been initiated. The major components of LEHIPA (20 MeV, 30 mA) are a 50 keV ECR ion source, a 3 MeV Radio Frequency Quadrupole (RFQ) and a 20 meV drift tube linac (DTL). The Low Energy Beam Transport (LEBT) and Medium Energy Beam Transport (MEBT) lines match the beam from the ion source to RFQ and from RFQ to DTL respectively. Design of these systems has been completed and fabrication of their prototypes has started. Physics studies of the 20–1000 MeV part of the Linac are also in progress. Beam Position Monitors(BPMs) for the low-β beam of the Chinese Accelerator Driven Subcritical system(CADS) Proton linac are of the capacitive pick-up type.They provide higher output signals than that of the inductive type.This paper will describe the design and tests of the capacitive BPM system for the low-β proton linac,including the pick-ups,the test bench and the read-out electronics.The tests done with an actual proton beam show a good agreement between the measurements and the simulations in the time domain.  相似文献

强流质子直线加速器要求严格控制束流损失和束流发射度增长.理论已经证明,强的空间电荷作用在不同自由度之间的耦合,会因为其间的温度差异,通过束流的相干不稳定性,使束流发射度增长.因此,有必要按照均温的原则设计强流加速器.但是,由于质子直线加速器的各种加速结构均为准周期耦合系统,使得均温设计十分繁琐而难以达到完全均温.我们利用国际上通用的束流动力学软件TRACE3-D,给它补充了均温设计功能,通过与PARMILA程序的配合使用,可以方便地在加速器设计中实现均温条件.本文将介绍我们对TRACE3-D的修改补充,并以强流质子直线加速器设计实例,说明均温设计的必要性.  相似文献

基于GIC4117串列加速器束流引出线束流测量需求,开展了电离型束流截面探测器设计工作,主要包括系统收集信号强度的计算,采用有限元软件进行电场系统、磁场系统优化设计,给出了电场系统与磁场系统设计参数。通过引入辅助磁场,测量系统能够实现束流轨道的自动校正,系统对束流的影响可以忽略。对影响测量精度的电离电子横向位置偏移进行了分析,并对电离电子进行轨迹跟踪。跟踪结果表明:电离电子在横向位置的运动偏移可以控制在0.3 mm以内,与理论分析一致。  相似文献

 束流位置监测器(BPM)是粒子加速器束测系统中最为常见的元件,该探头输出信号中除包含束流位置信息外还包含电荷量等其它信息,可作为多参数束流诊断设备。采用BPM理论分析和数值仿真分析相结合的方法讨论了该种探头同时用于束流流强测量的可行性。在上海光源储存环上进行了束流试验,测定了全环140个BPM的流强标定系数,对BPM用于流强测量的分辨率、束流位置依赖性、频率依赖特性进行了测试,根据实验结果讨论了该方法在当前技术条件下所能达到的性能及其局限性。  相似文献

Helium gas and air are commonly used in the high pressure scanning electron microscope (HPSEM). The presence of a gaseous environment in the specimen chamber modifies the electron beam profile. In order to fully understand the beam-gas interaction, we have investigated the beam-diameter effect for two gases (helium and air) by Monte Carlo simulation. In this calculation, we have assumed that the electron beam is Gaussian and we have explored the influence of the nature of the gas at low voltage. When the beam diameter varies between 1 and 100 nm, there is no influence on the beam profile for these two gases. The resolving power of the HPSEM is not affected by the beam-gas interaction. These theoretical results have been compared with experimental images obtained at low voltage under air and helium gases. The variation of image quality at low voltage has confirmed the interest of helium for use in a Field Emission Gun SEM (FEGSEM) in high pressure (or low vacuum) conditions.  相似文献

In this work,a portable slit imaging system is developed to study both the electron beam diameter and the profile of the newly developed Shanghai Electron Beam Ion Trap (Shanghai EBIT).Images are detected by a charge coupled device (CCD) sensitive to both X rays and longer wavelength photons (up to visible).Large scale ray tracings were conducted for correcting the image broadening effects caused by the finite slit width and the finite width of the CCD pixels.A numerical de-convolution method was developed to analyse and reconstruct the electron beam density distribution in the EBIT.As an example of the measured beam diameter and current density,the FWHM (full width at half maximum) diameter of the electron beam at 81 keV and 120 mA is found to be 76.2 μm and the density 2.00 × 10 3 A·cm 2,under a magnetic field of 3 T,including all corrections.  相似文献

输出脉冲稳定性的需求对驱动自由电子激光产生的电子直线加速器装置束流稳定性提出了严格的要求,包括电子束平均能量、峰值流强、束团到达时间抖动和横向位置抖动等参数。基于正在建设的大连相干光源用户装置,探讨了最近提出的褶皱管用作能量稳定器的可行性。采用解析计算和数值模拟结合的方法,结合大连相干光源直线加速器的设计,在设计参数条件下能量稳定性至少提升10%。同时提供了褶皱管尾场设计的一般步骤。  相似文献

We demonstrate controlled high-order harmonic generation in gas using high-energy femtosecond pulses (50 fs-50 mJ on target) by performing spatial shaping of the terrawatt fundamental laser beam. We have developed a two optical paths mirror that can withstand high power and shape the pump beam into a quasi-flat-top profile (super Gaussian) near focus. We observe clear signatures of the spatial shaping on the harmonic beam in terms of profile, divergence, level of signal, and spectrum. The harmonic generation in neon with a quasi-flat-top beam results in a broadband extreme UV beam with extremely low divergence (~340 μrad).  相似文献

In this paper,we report the design and simulation of a wire scanner for the linac of the CSNS(China Spallation Neutron Source).The wire scanner is used to measure the transverse beam profile andthe emittance.The effect of beam energy change upon the mechanical design of the wire scanner must beconsidered.The simulation results of heat on the two specified wires,tungsten and carbon,by using the finite element method software,ANSYS,are presented.In addition,the effect of wire deformation on the beam profile measurement is qualitatively analyzed,and the signal level of the wire scanner is discussed.  相似文献

在基于加速器的北京慢正电子强束流装置上, 用Penning-Trap技术实现了脉冲慢正电子束流的存储和直流化. 实验表明, 系统的真空度对正电子的存储效率有严重影响, 脉冲正电子的释放方式决定了直流化后束流的能量分散; 改变释放级信号波形以及释放方式可以得到能量分散小于1eV的准直流化慢正电子束流.  相似文献
