A class of three level food chain system is studied. With the theory of delay equations and Hopf bifurcation, the conditions of the positive equilibrium undergoing Hopf bifurcation is given regarding τ as the parameter. The stability and direction of Hopf bifurcation are determined by applying the normal form theory and the center manifold argument, and numerical simulations are performed to illustrate the analytical results.  相似文献

This paper deals with the existence of both Hopf bifurcation and topological horseshoe for a novel finance chaotic system. First, through rigorous mathematical analysis, we show that a Hopf bifurcation occurs at systems’ three equilibriums S0,1,2 and Hopf bifurcation at equilibrium S0 is non-degenerate and supercritical. Second, the computer-assisted verifications for horseshoe chaos in the system are given. Simulation results are presented to support the analysis.  相似文献

We consider a harmonic oscillator with delays. Linear stability is investigated by analyzing the associated characteristic transcendental equation. The bifurcation analysis of the equation shows that Hopf bifurcation can occur as the delay τ (taken as a parameter) crosses some critical values. The direction and stability of the Hopf bifurcation are considered by using the normal form theory due to Faria and Magalhães. An example is given to explain the results. Numerical simulations support our results.  相似文献

The O(2)×S1-equivariant degree is applied to study the Hopf bifurcation for the Taylor–Couette problem. Isotypical crossing numbers and equivariant bifurcation invariants are evaluated and are applied to classify the equivariant Hopf bifurcation for the Taylor–Couette flow.  相似文献

In this paper, a competitive Lotka-Volterra system with three delays is investigated. By choosing the sum τ of three delays as a bifurcation parameter, we show that in the above system, Hopf bifurcation at the positive equilibrium can occur as τ crosses some critical values. And we obtain the formulae determining direction of Hopf bifurcation and stability of the bifurcating periodic solutions by using the normal form theory and center manifold theorem. Finally, numerical simulations supporting our theoretical results are also included.  相似文献

We consider a delayed predator-prey system with Beddington-DeAngelis functional response. The stability of the interior equilibrium will be studied by analyzing the associated characteristic transcendental equation. By choosing the delay τ as a bifurcation parameter, we show that Hopf bifurcation can occur as the delay τ crosses some critical values. The direction and stability of the Hopf bifurcation are investigated by following the procedure of deriving normal form given by Faria and Magalhães. An example is given and numerical simulations are performed to illustrate the obtained results.  相似文献

Bifurcations for a predator-prey system with two delays   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2
In this paper, a predator-prey system with two delays is investigated. By choosing the sum τ of two delays as a bifurcation parameter, we show that Hopf bifurcations can occur as τ crosses some critical values. By deriving the equation describing the flow on the center manifold, we can determine the direction of the Hopf bifurcations and the stability of the bifurcating periodic solutions. In addition, special attention is paid to the global continuation of local Hopf bifurcations. Using a global Hopf bifurcation result of [J. Wu, Symmetric functional differential equations and neural networks with memory, Trans. Amer. Math. Soc. 350 (1998) 4799-4838], we may show the global existence of periodic solutions.  相似文献

We consider a reaction-diffusion system with general time-delayed growth rate and kernel functions. The existence and stability of the positive spatially nonhomogeneous steady-state solution are obtained. Moreover, taking minimal time delay τ as the bifurcation parameter, Hopf bifurcation near the steady-state solution is proved to occur at a critical value τ=τ0. Especially, the Hopf bifurcation is forward and the bifurcated periodic solutions are stable on the center manifold. The general results are applied to competitive and cooperative systems with weak or strong kernel function respectively.  相似文献

The center manifold theory with respect to the simple Hopf bifurcation of a n-dimensional nonlinear multi-parametric system is treated via a proper symbolic form. Analytical expressions of the involved quantities are obtained as functions of the parameters of the system via effective algorithms based on the followed procedure and carried out using a symbolic computation software. Moreover the normal form of a codimension 1 Hopf bifurcation, as well as the corresponding Lyapunov coefficient and bifurcation portrait, can be computed for any system under consideration. Here the computational procedure is applied to two nonlinear three-dimensional, three-parametric systems and graphical results are obtained as concerns the stability regions, the bifurcation portraits, as well as emerged limit cycles with respect to both the supercritical and the subcritical case of bifurcation.  相似文献

Noninvasive direct current (DC) electric stimulation of central nervous system is today a promising therapeutic option to alleviate the symptoms of a number of neurological disorders. Despite widespread use of this noninvasive brain modulation technique, a generalizable explanation of its biophysical basis has not been described which seriously restricts its application and development. This paper investigated the dynamical behaviors of Hodgkin’s three classes of neurons exposed to DC electric field based on a conductance-based neuron model. With phase plane and bifurcation analysis, the different responses of each class of neuron to the same stimulation are shown to derive from distinct spike initiating dynamics. Under the effects of negative DC electric field, class 1 neuron generates repetitive spike through a saddle-node on invariant circle (SNIC) bifurcation, while it ceases this repetitive behavior through a Hopf bifurcation; Class 2 neuron generates repetitive spike through a Hopf bifurcation, meanwhile it ceases this repetitive behavior also by a Hopf bifurcation; Class 3 neuron can generate single spike through a quasi-separatrix-crossing (QSC) at first, then it generates repetitive spike through a Hopf bifurcation, while it ceases this repetitive behavior through a SNIC bifurcation. Furthermore, three classes of neurons’ spiking frequency f–electric field E (fE) curves all have parabolic shape. Our results highlight the effects of external DC electric field on neuronal activity from the biophysical modeling point of view. It can contribute to the application and development of noninvasive DC brain modulation technique.  相似文献

In this paper, we analyze the stability and Hopf bifurcation of the biological economic system based on the new normal form and the Hopf bifurcation theorem. The basic model we consider is owed to a ratio-dependent predator-prey system with harvesting, compared with other researches on dynamics of predator-prey population, this system is described by differential-algebraic equations due to economic factor. Here μ as bifurcation parameter, it is found that periodic solutions arise from stable stationary states when the parameter μ increases close to a certain limit. Finally, numerical simulations illustrate the effectiveness of our results.  相似文献

This paper studies various Hopf bifurcations in the two-dimensional plane Poiseuille problem. For several values of the wavenumber α, we obtain the branch of periodic flows which are born at the Hopf bifurcation of the laminar flow. It is known that, taking α ≈ 1, the branch of periodic solutions has several Hopf bifurcations to quasi-periodic orbits. For the first bifurcation, calculations from other authors seem to indicate that the bifurcating quasi-periodic flows are stable and subcritical with respect to the Reynolds number, Re. By improving the precision of previous works we find that the bifurcating flows are unstable and supercritical with respect to Re. We have also analysed the second Hopf bifurcation of periodic orbits for several α, to find again quasi-periodic solutions with increasing Re. In this case the bifurcated solutions are stable to superharmonic disturbances for Re up to another new Hopf bifurcation to a family of stable 3-tori. The proposed numerical scheme is based on a full numerical integration of the Navier-Stokes equations, together with a division by 3 of their total dimension, and the use of a pseudo-Newton method on suitable Poincaré sections. The most intensive part of the computations has been performed in parallel. We believe that this methodology can also be applied to similar problems.  相似文献

Resonance in Hopf bifurcation causes complicated bifurcation behaviors. To design with certain desired Hopf bifurcation characteristics in the resonance cases of discrete-time systems, a feedback control method is developed. The controller is designed with the aid of discrete-time washout filters. The control law is constructed according to the criticality and stability conditions of Hopf bifurcations as well as resonance constraints. The control gains associated with linear control terms insure the creation of a Hopf bifurcation in resonance cases and the control gains associated with nonlinear control terms determine the type and stability of bifurcated solutions. To derive the former, we propose the implicit criteria of eigenvalue assignment and transversality condition for creating the bifurcation in a desired parameter location. To derive the latter, the technique of the center manifold reduction, Iooss’s Hopf bifurcation theory and Wan’s Hopf bifurcation theory for resonance cases are employed. In numerical experiments, we show the Hopf circles and fixed points from the created Hopf bifurcations in the strong and weak resonance cases for a four-dimensional control system.  相似文献

In this paper, a Z4-equivariant quintic planar vector field is studied. The Hopf bifurcation method and polycycle bifurcation method are combined to study the limit cycles bifurcated from the compounded cycle with 4 hyperbolic saddle points. It is found that this special quintic planar polynomial system has at least four large limit cycles which surround all singular points. By applying the double homoclinic loops bifurcation method and Hopf bifurcation method, we conclude that 28 limit cycles with two different configurations exist in this special planar polynomial system. The results acquired in this paper are useful for studying the weakened 16th Hilbert's Problem.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider a regulated logistic growth model. We first consider the linear stability and the existence of a Hopf bifurcation. We show that Hopf bifurcations occur as the delay τ passes through critical values. Then, using the normal form theory and center manifold reduction, we derive the explicit algorithm determining the direction of Hopf bifurcations and the stability of the bifurcating periodic solutions. Finally, numerical simulation results are given to support the theoretical predictions.  相似文献

A reaction-diffusion equation related to some mathematical models of gasless combustion of solid fuel is studied. A formal bifurcation analysis by B. J. Matkowsky and G. I. Sivashinsky (SIAM J. Appl. Math.35 (1978), 465–478) shows that solutions demonstrate behavior typical for the Hopf bifurcation. A rigorous treatment of this phenomenon is developed. The problem is considered as an evolution equation in a Banach space. To circumvent difficulties involving a possible resonance with the continuous spectrum, appropriate weighted norms are introduced. A suitable version of the Hopf bifurcation theorem is developed and the existence of time periodic solutions is proved for values of the parameter near some critical value.  相似文献

In this paper we consider the numerical solution of the sunflower equation. We prove that if the sunflower equation has a Hopf bifurcation point ata =a 0, then the numerical solution with the Euler-method of the equation has a Hopf bifurcation point ata h =a 0 +O(h).  相似文献

In this paper, an eco-epidemiological model with a stage structure is considered. The asymptotical stability of the five equilibria, the existence of stability switches about positive equilibrium, is investigated. It is found that Hopf bifurcation occurs when the delay τ passes though a critical value. Some explicit formulae determining the stability and the direction of the Hopf bifurcation periodic solutions bifurcating from Hopf bifurcations are obtained by using the normal form theory and center manifold theory. Some numerical simulations for justifying the theoretical analysis are also provided. Finally, biological explanations and main conclusions are given.  相似文献

We develop a global Hopf bifurcation theory for a system of functional differential equations with state-dependent delay. The theory is based on an application of the homotopy invariance of S1-equivariant degree using the formal linearization of the system at a stationary state. Our results show that under a set of mild conditions the information about the characteristic equation of the formal linearization with frozen delay can be utilized to detect the local Hopf bifurcation and to describe the global continuation of periodic solutions for such a system with state-dependent delay.  相似文献
