For finitely generated groups G and H, we prove that there is a weak equivalence G H (G × H) of ku-algebra spectra, where denotes the “unitary deformation K-theory” functor. Additionally, we give spectral sequences for computing the homotopy groups of G and HG in terms of connective K-theory and homology of spaces of G-representations.  相似文献

In this paper, we study the minimality of the map for the weighted energy functional , where is a continuous function. We prove that for any integer and any non-negative, non-decreasing continuous function f, the map minimizes E f,p among the maps in which coincide with on . The case p = 1 has been already studied in [Bourgoin J.-C. Calc. Var. (to appear)]. Then, we extend results of Hong (see Ann. Inst. Poincaré Anal. Non-linéaire 17: 35–46 (2000)). Indeed, under the same assumptions for the function f, we prove that in dimension n ≥  7 for any real with , the map minimizes E f,p among the maps in which coincide with on .   相似文献

Let and denote the complexifications of Heisenberg hypersurfaces in and , respectively. We show that non-degenerate holomorphic Segre mappings from into with possess a partial rigidity property. As an application, we prove that the holomorphic Segre non-transversality for a holomorphic Segre map from into with propagates along Segre varieties. We also give an example showing that this propagation property of holomorphic Segre transversality fails when N > 2n − 2.  相似文献

The aim is to develop a metric theory for the sets and analogous to the classical theory in which is simply . In this note, we mainly restrict our attention to the case that is a planar curve . A complete Hausdorff dimension theory is established for the sets and . A divergent Khintchine type result is obtained for ; i.e. if a certain sum diverges then the one-dimensional Lebesgue measure on of is full. Furthermore, in the case that is a rational quadric the convergent Khintchine type result is obtained for both types of approximation. Our results for naturally generalize the dimension and Lebesgue measure statements of Beresnevich et al. (Mem AMS, 179 (846), 1–91 (2006)). We prove a regularity result for critical points of the polyharmonic energy in with and p > 1. Our proof is based on a Gagliardo–Nirenberg-type estimate and avoids the moving frame technique. Let K be a Lie group and P be a K-principal bundle on a manifold M. Suppose given furthermore a central extension of K. It is a classical question whether there exists a -principal bundle on M such that . Neeb (Commun. Algebra 34:991–1041, 2006) defines in this context a crossed module of topological Lie algebras whose cohomology class is an obstruction to the existence of . In the present article, we show that is up to torsion a full obstruction for this problem, and we clarify its relation to crossed modules of Lie algebroids and Lie groupoids, and finally to gerbes.   相似文献

We put a monoidal model category structure on the category of chain complexes of quasi-coherent sheaves over a quasi-compact and semi-separated scheme X. The approach generalizes and simplifies the method used by the author in (Trans Am Math Soc 356(8) 3369–3390, 2004) and (Trans Am Math Soc 358(7), 2855–2874, 2006) to build monoidal model structures on the category of chain complexes of modules over a ring and chain complexes of sheaves over a ringed space. Indeed, much of the paper is dedicated to showing that in any Grothendieck category , any nice enough class of objects induces a model structure on the category Ch() of chain complexes. The main technical requirement on is the existence of a regular cardinal κ such that every object satisfies the following property: Each κ-generated subobject of F is contained in another κ-generated subobject S for which . Such a class is called a Kaplansky class. Kaplansky classes first appeared in Enochs and López-Ramos (Rend Sem Mat Univ Padova 107, 67–79, 2002) in the context of modules over a ring R. We study in detail the connection between Kaplansky classes and model categories. We also find simple conditions to put on which will guarantee that our model structure is monoidal. We will see that in several categories the class of flat objects form such Kaplansky classes, and hence induce monoidal model structures on the associated chain complex categories. We will also see that in any Grothendieck category , the class of all objects is a Kaplansky class which induces the usual (non-monoidal) injective model structure on Ch().  相似文献

Let NM be a finite Jones’ index inclusion of II1 factors and denote by U N U M their unitary groups. In this article, we study the homogeneous space U M /U N , which is a (infinite dimensional) differentiable manifold, diffeomorphic to the orbit of the Jones projection of the inclusion. We endow with a Riemannian metric, by means of the trace on each tangent space. These are pre-Hilbert spaces (the tangent spaces are not complete); therefore, is a weak Riemannian manifold. We show that enjoys certain properties similar to classic Hilbert–Riemann manifolds. Among them are metric completeness of the geodesic distance, uniqueness of geodesics of the Levi-Civita connection as minimal curves, and partial results on the existence of minimal geodesics. For instance, around each point p 1 of , there is a ball (of uniform radius r) of the usual norm of M, such that any point p 2 in the ball is joined to p 1 by a unique geodesic, which is shorter than any other piecewise smooth curve lying inside this ball. We also give an intrinsic (algebraic) characterization of the directions of degeneracy of the submanifold inclusion , where the last set denotes the Grassmann manifold of the von Neumann algebra generated by M and .   相似文献

We study hypersurfaces in Euclidean space whose position vector x satisfies the condition L k x = Ax + b, where L k is the linearized operator of the (k + 1)th mean curvature of the hypersurface for a fixed , is a constant matrix and is a constant vector. For every k, we prove that the only hypersurfaces satisfying that condition are hypersurfaces with zero (k + 1)th mean curvature and open pieces of round hyperspheres and generalized right spherical cylinders of the form , with . This extends a previous classification for hypersurfaces in satisfying , where is the Laplacian operator of the hypersurface, given independently by Hasanis and Vlachos [J. Austral. Math. Soc. Ser. New solutions of twist equations for the universal enveloping algebras U (An−1) are found. These solutions can be represented as products of full chains of extended Jordanian twists Abelian factors (“rotations”) , and sets of quasi-Jordanian twists . The latter are generalizations of Jordanian twists (with carrier b2) for special deformed extensions of the Hopf algebra U (b2). The carrier subalgebra for the composition is a nonminimal parabolic subalgebra in A n−1 such that . The parabolic twisting elements are obtained in an explicit form. Let be the homogeneous tree with degree q + 1 ≥ 3 and a finitely generated group whose Cayley graph is . The associated lamplighter group is the wreath product , where is a finite group. For a large class of random walks on this group, we prove almost sure convergence to a natural geometric boundary. If the probability law governing the random walk has finite first moment, then the probability space formed by this geometric boundary together with the limit distribution of the random walk is proved to be maximal, that is, the Poisson boundary. We also prove that the Dirichlet problem at infinity is solvable for continuous functions on the active part of the boundary, if the lamplighter “operates at bounded range”.
