We study the paper of Avazzadeh et al. [Z. Avazzadeh, M. Heydari, G.B., Loghmani, Numerical solution of Fedholm integral equations of the second kind by using integral mean value theorem, Appl. Math. Model. 35 (2011) 2374–2383] with the integral mean value method for Fredholm integral equations of the second kind. The objective of the note is threefold. First, we point out a basic error in the paper. Second, we find that the given numerical examples are only related to the special cases of Fredholm integral equations of the second kind with the degenerate kernels, which can be solved simply. Third, due to the basic error, our observations reveal that generally the suggested method should not be considered for a Fredholm integral equation of the second kind. 相似文献

In this paper, we consider the problem of optimization of adaptive direct methods of operator equations. Adaptivity of a
direct method is understood in the sense that the subspace on the basis of which it is constructed is chosen depending on
the operator of the concrete equation (otherwise, nonadaptive direct method is then concerned), which would essentially let
us increase the precision. For some classes of the second kind of Fredhlom integral equations with anisotropic smooth kernels
we determine the exact order of the error of adaptive direct methods, and we also give an optimal algorithm.

The integral equations of acoustic and electromagnetic scattering generate large dense systems of linear equations. These systems are efficiently solved with iterative methods where the matrix-vector multiplication is computed using a special fast method, such as the fast Fourier transform or the fast multipole method (FMM). In this paper, the so called diagonal forms of the translation operators for the fast multipole method are derived starting from integral representations of certain special functions. Error analysis of the FMM is given, considering both the truncation error of potential expansions and the errors from the use of numerical integration in the diagonal translation theorem. The continuous and discrete time Linear Quadratic Regulator (LQR) theory has been used in this paper for the design of optimal analog and discrete PID controllers respectively. The PID controller gains are formulated as the optimal state-feedback gains, corresponding to the standard quadratic cost function involving the state variables and the controller effort. A real coded Genetic Algorithm (GA) has been used next to optimally find out the weighting matrices, associated with the respective optimal state-feedback regulator design while minimizing another time domain integral performance index, comprising of a weighted sum of Integral of Time multiplied Squared Error (ITSE) and the controller effort. The proposed methodology is extended for a new kind of fractional order (FO) integral performance indices. The impact of fractional order (as any arbitrary real order) cost function on the LQR tuned PID control loops is highlighted in the present work, along with the achievable cost of control. Guidelines for the choice of integral order of the performance index are given depending on the characteristics of the process, to be controlled. 相似文献

During the last decade or two, significant progress has been made in the development of imbedding methods for the analytical and computational treatment of integral equations. These methods are now well known in radiative transfer, neutron transport, optimal filtering, and other fields. In this review paper, we describe the current status of imbedding methods for integral equations. The paper emphasizes new analytical and computational developments in control and filtering, multiple scattering, inverse problems of wave propagation, and solid and fluid mechanics. Efficient computer programs for the determination of complex eigenvalues of integral operators, analytical investigations of stability for significant underlying Riccati integrodifferential equations, and comparisons against other methods are described. 相似文献

The main idea of this paper is to reduce analysis of behavior of integral functionals along weakly convergent sequences to operations with Young measures generated by these sequences. We show that Young measures can be characterized as measurable functions with values in a special compact metric space and that these functions have a spectrum of properties sufficiently broad to realize this idea.These new observations allow us to give simplified proofs of the results of gradient Young measure theory and to use them for deriving the results on relaxation and convergence in energy under optimal assumptions on integrands.We think that this work helps to clarify role of Young measures. 相似文献

We study integral refinable operators of integral type exact on polynomials of even degree constructed by using refinable B-bases of GP type. We prove a general theorem of existence and uniqueness. Then we study the Lp-norm of these operators and we give error bounds in approximating functions and their derivatives belonging to suitable classes. In this article we present the combined adaptive-additive multilevel methods for the Galerkin approximation of hypersingular integral equation on the interval o = ( m 1,1). We also derive an efficient and reliable a posteriori error estimate for the error between the exact solution u and the approximated multilevel solution $ \tilde u_ {\cal M} $ , measuring locally the quality of $ \tilde u_ {\cal M} $ . The algorithm is carefully designed to obtain minimal complexity. A limitation of our analysis approach is that the meshes must be assumed to be quasi-uniform. 相似文献
