Abstract

All rings are commutative with identity, and all modules are unital. The purpose of this work is to investigate comultiplication submodules of multiplication modules. Various properties of this class of submodules are considered. Sufficient conditions for the sum and intersection of a finite collection of comultiplication submodules to be a comultiplication submodule are also given.  相似文献

All rings are commutative with identity, and all modules are unital. The purpose of this article is to investigate multiplication von Neumann regular modules. For this reason we introduce the concept of nilpotent submodules generalizing nilpotent ideals and then prove that a faithful multiplication module is von Neumann regular if and only if it has no nonzero nilpotent elements and its Krull dimension is zero. We also give a new characterization for the radical of a submodule of a multiplication module and show in particular that the radical of any submodule of a Noetherian multiplication module is a finite intersection of prime submodules.  相似文献

An R-module M is called principally quasi-injective if each R-hornomorphism from a principal submodule of M to M can be extended to an endomorphism of M. Many properties of principally injective rings and quasi-injective modules are extended to these modules. As one application, we show that, for a finite-dimensional quasi-injective module M in which every maximal uniform submodule is fully invariant, there is a bijection between the set of indecomposable summands of M and the maximal left ideals of the endomorphism ring of M

A right module $M$ over an associative ring $R$ with unity is a $QTAG$-module if every finitely generated submodule of any homomorphic image of $M$ is a direct sum of uniserial modules. This article considers the closure of $h$-pure-$S$-high submodules of $QTAG$-modules. Here, we determine all submodules $S$ of a $QTAG$-module $M$ such that each closure of $h$-pure-$S$-high submodule of $M$ is $h$-pure-$\overline{S}$-high in $\overline{M}$. A few results of this theme give a comparison of some elementary properties of $h$-pure-$S$-high and $S$-high submodules.  相似文献

It is not uncommon for rings to have Gabriel localizations which do not possess the unique rank (UR) property although the rings themselves do have UR. We show that if F is a Gabriel filter of right ideals on a ring R and RF is the corresponding Gabriel localization, then free RF?modules of ranks m and n are isomorphic if and only if some F-dense submodule of (R/Tf(R))m is isomorphic to some F-dense submodule of (R/TF(R))n, where TF(R) is the F-torsion ideal of R.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

In this paper, unless otherwise stated, all rings are commutative with identity and all modules are unital. We give sufficient conditions to ensure that a submodule has a module-reduced primary decomposition. In general, the radical of a primary submodule is not prime and the radical does not split intersections of submodules, as is valid in the ideal case. We study sufficient conditions for which these properties hold in the module setting. These conditions involve dimension arguments, consideration of finitely generated modules, and the spectrum of a given prime ideal. Further, we consider the computational problem of finding a Gröbner basis of both the colon and the radical of a submodule. A characterization of the elements of the colon is given, along with a method of computing the radical of a submodule in certain cases.  相似文献

Abstract

We show that finitely generated modules over a commutative Noetherian ring can be classified, up to isomorphism of submodule series, in a manner analogous to the classification of integers as products of prime numbers. In outline, two such modules have isomorphic submodule series if and only if 1) the set of minimal associated prime ideals of these modules coincide, 2) the multiplicities of these modules at these prime ideals coincide, and 3) the modules represent the same element in a certain group corresponding to the above set of prime ideals. Regarding condition 3), we show that, in the very special case that the ring is a Dedekind domain, the group corresponding to the prime ideal (0) is the ideal class group of the ring.  相似文献

We study what happens if, in the Krull-Schmidt Theorem, instead of considering modules whose endomorphism rings have one maximal ideal, we consider modules whose endomorphism rings have two maximal ideals. If a ring has exactly two maximal right ideals, then the two maximal right ideals are necessarily two-sided. We call such a ring of type 2. The behavior of direct sums of finitely many modules whose endomorphism rings have type 2 is completely described by a graph whose connected components are either complete graphs or complete bipartite graphs. The vertices of the graphs are ideals in a suitable full subcategory of Mod-R. The edges are isomorphism classes of modules. The complete bipartite graphs give rise to a behavior described by a Weak Krull-Schmidt Theorem. Such a behavior had been previously studied for the classes of uniserial modules, biuniform modules, cyclically presented modules over a local ring, kernels of morphisms between indecomposable injective modules, and couniformly presented modules. All these modules have endomorphism rings that are either local or of type 2. Here we present a general theory that includes all these cases.  相似文献

In this paper, we introduce and study torsion-theoretic generalizations of singular and nonsingular modules by using the concept of τ-essential submodule for a hereditary torsion theory τ. We introduce two new module classes called τ-singular and non-τ-singular modules. We investigate some properties of these module classes and present some examples to show that these new module classes are different from singular and nonsingular modules. We give a characterization of τ-semisimple rings via non-τ-singular modules. We prove that if Mτ(M) is non-τ-singular for a module M, then every submodule of M has a unique τ-closure. We give some properties of the torsion theory generated by the class of all τ-singular modules. We obtain a decomposition theorem for a strongly τ-extending module by using non-τ-singular modules.  相似文献

We define and investigate t-semisimple modules as a generalization of semisimple modules. A module M is called t-semisimple if every submodule N contains a direct summand K of M such that K is t-essential in N. T-semisimple modules are Morita invariant and they form a strict subclass of t-extending modules. Many equivalent conditions for a module M to be t-semisimple are found. Accordingly, M is t-semisiple, if and only if, M = Z 2(M) ⊕ S(M) (where Z 2(M) is the Goldie torsion submodule and S(M) is the sum of nonsingular simple submodules). A ring R is called right t-semisimple if R R is t-semisimple. Various characterizations of right t-semisimple rings are given. For some types of rings, conditions equivalent to being t-semisimple are found, and this property is investigated in terms of chain conditions.  相似文献

We continue the study of the big lattice of preradicals over a ring. We consider several operators acting on this lattice, for instance the pseudocomplement, the annihilator and the totalizer, as well as some relations among them. Using some of these operators we give characterizations of V-rings, of rings that are a finite direct sum of injective hulls of simple modules, and of rings such that besides the latter condition have also the property that each pair of simple modules are homologically connected.  相似文献

We study some non-highest weight modules over an affine Kac–Moody algebra [^(\mathfrak g)]{\hat{\mathfrak g}} at the non-critical level. Roughly speaking, these modules are non-commutative localizations of some non-highest weight “vacuum” modules. Using free field realization, we embed some rings of differential operators in endomorphism rings of our modules. These rings of differential operators act on a localization of the space of coinvariants of any [^(\mathfrak g)]{\hat{\mathfrak g}}-module with respect to a certain level subalgebra. For complex Lie algebra sl(n, C) we study the submodule structure of generalized Verma modules induced from generic Gelfand-Zetlin modules over some subalgebra of type sl(k, C). We obtain necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of a submodule generalizing the Bernstein-Gelfand-Gelfand theorem for Verma modules.  相似文献
