Polycrystalline KMgSO4Cl:Eu and Na5(PO4)SO4:Ce phosphors prepared by a wet chemical method have been studied for its photoluminescence (PL) and thermoluminescence (TL) characteristics. The TL glow curve of the compound has a prominent peak at 200 °C and may be useful for TL study. TL sensitivity of the KMgSO4Cl:Eu phosphor is found to be 1.7 times less than that of TLD—CaSO4:Dy. The presence of bands at around 420, 435 and 445 nm in the PL emission spectra of the phosphor suggests the presence of Eu2+ in the host compound. Moreover a TL glow curve of the Na5(PO4)SO4:Ce gives a better understanding of the TL mechanism (peaks at 271 and 310 °C) involved in the concerned phosphor. The PL emission spectra are observed at 382 nm for the various concentrations. In this paper we report PL and TL characteristics of KMgSO4Cl:Eu halosulphate and Na5(PO4)SO4:Ce phosphate sulphate phosphors first time.  相似文献

A new phosphor in the Cl-F system doped with Dy, Ce and Eu has been reported. Characterization of this phosphor using XRD, PL and TL techniques is described. Polycrystalline Na6(SO4)2FCl:Dy; Na6(SO4)2FCl:Ce and Na6(SO4)2FCl:Eu phosphors prepared by a solid state diffusion method have been studied for their X-ray diffraction, photoluminescence (PL) and thermoluminescence (TL)characteristics. The PL excitation and emission spectra of phosphors were obtained. Dy3+ emission in the host at 475 and 570 nm is observed due to 4F9/26H15/2 and 4F9/26H13/2 transition, respectively, whereas the PL emission spectra of Na6(SO4)2FCl:Ce phosphor shows the Ce3+ emission at 322 nm due to 5d→4f transition of Ce3+ ion. In Na6(SO4)2FCl:Eu lattice, Eu2+ as well as Eu3+ emissions are observed. The emission of europium ion in this compound exhibits the blue as well as red emission. The TL glow curves of the same compounds have the simple structure with a prominent peak at 150, 175 and 200 °C. TL response, fading, reusability and trapping parameters of the phosphors are also studied. The TL glow curves of γ-irradiated Na6(SO4)2FCl sample show one glow peak indicating that only one set of traps is being activated within the particular temperature range each with its own value of activation energy (E) and frequency factor (s). The trapping parameters associated with the prominent glow peak are calculated using Chen’s half width method. The release of hole/electron from defect centers at the characteristic trap site initiates the luminescence process in these materials. The intensity of the TL glow peaks increases with increase of the added γ-ray dose to the samples.  相似文献

Photoluminescence properties of thenardite activated with Eu   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
Na2SO4:Eu phosphors were prepared by heating pure natural thenardite with EuF3 at 900 °C for 20 min in air. The photoluminescence (PL) and excitation spectra of as-prepared and γ-ray-irradiated phosphors were observed at 300 K. The PL spectrum under 394 nm excitation consisted of strong narrow bands with peaks at 579, 592, 616, 652, 697 and 741 nm, assigned to the 5D07FJ (J=0, 1, 2, …, 5) transitions, respectively, within Eu3+. The PL spectrum under 340 nm excitation consisted of a broad Eu2+ band with a peak at 435 nm. The excitation spectrum obtained by monitoring the violet luminescence consisted of a weak band with a peak at approximately 261 nm and a broad Eu2+ band with a peak at approximately 338 nm. The relative efficiency of the violet luminescence of the γ-ray-irradiated phosphor at the exposure of 46 kGy increased up to 3.0 times that of the unirradiated phosphor. The enhancement of violet luminescence by γ-ray irradiation was ascribed to the conversion of Eu3+ to Eu2+ in Na2SO4.  相似文献

In this study, Li2BPO5 doped with Cu and that co-doped with Mg are synthesized by the wet chemical technique and exposed to γ rays of 60Co to determine their thermoluminescence (TL) properties. The X-ray diffraction technique shows the crystalline nature of the prepared material. The photoluminescence (PL) emission spectra of Li2BPO5:Cu phosphor show the strong prominent peak at 368 nm in the violet region of the visible spectrum due to the transition of 3d94s1 ? 3d10 of monovalent copper ion. The PL emission of Li2BPO5:Cu is enhanced by the addition of Mg. The TL glow curves of γ-irradiated Li2BPO5:Cu sample show one glow peak at 143°C, indicating that only one set of traps is being activated within the particular temperature range each with its own value of activation energy (E) and frequency factor (s). The trapping parameters associated with the prominent glow peak of Li2BPO5:Cu are calculated using the glow curve shape (Chen's) method. The release of hole/electron from defect centers at the characteristic trap site initiates the luminescence process in these materials. A linear TL response is observed in Li2BPO5:Cu in a long span of exposures. The sensitivity of Li2BPO5:Cu sample is observed to be 7.8 times that of (TLD-100) LiF:Mg, Ti.  相似文献

Five Na2SO4:RE3+ phosphors activated with rare-earth (RE) ions (RE3+=Ce3+, Sm3+, Tb3+, Dy3+ and Tm3+) were synthesized by heating natural thenardite Na2SO4 from Ai-Ding Salt Lake, Xinjiang, China with small amounts of rare-earth fluorides, CeF3, SmF3, TbF3, DyF3 and TmF3, at 920 °C in air. The photoluminescence (PL) and optical excitation spectra of the obtained phosphors were measured at 300 and 10 K. In the PL spectrum of Na2SO4:Ce3+ at 300 K, two overlapping bands with peaks at 335 and 356 nm due to Ce3+ were first observed. Narrow bands observed in PL and excitation spectra of Na2SO4:RE3+ (RE3+=Sm3+, Tb3+, Dy3+ and Tm3+) phosphors were well identified with the electronic transitions within the 4fn (n=5, 8, 9 and 12) configurations of RE3+. The existence of excitation bands with high luminescence efficiency at wavelengths shorter than 230 nm is characteristic of Na2SO4:RE3+ (RE3+=Sm3+, Tb3+, Dy3+ and Tm3+) phosphors. The obtained results suggest that these phosphors are unfavorable as the phosphor for usual fluorescence tubes, i.e., mercury discharge tubes, but may be favorable as the phosphor for UV-LED fluorescent tubes and as cathodoluminescence, X-ray luminescence and thermoluminescence phosphors.  相似文献

Electron spin resonance (ESR), thermoluminescence and photoluminescence studies in Eu2+ activated Sr5(PO4)3Cl phosphor are reported in this paper. The Sr5(PO4)3Cl:Eu2+ phosphor is twice as sensitive as the conventional CaSO4:Dy phosphor used in thermoluminescence dosimetry of ionizing radiations. It has a linear response, simple glow curve, emission peaking at 456 nm. The defect centers formed in the Sr5(PO4)3Cl:Eu2+phosphor are studied by using the technique of ESR. A dominant TL glow peak at 430 K with a smaller shoulder at 410 K is observed in the phosphor. ESR studies indicate the presence at three centers at room temperature. Step annealing measurements show a connection between one of the centers and the dominant glow peak at 430 K. The 430 K TL peak is well correlated with center I, which is tentatively identified as (PO4)2− radical.  相似文献

In this paper, the Sr3Y2 (BO3)4:Eu3+ phosphor was synthesized by high temperature solid-state reaction method and the luminescence characteristics were investigated. The emission spectrum exhibits one strong red emission at 613nm corresponding to the electric dipole 5D0--7F2 transition of Eu3+ under 365nm excitation, this is because Eu3+ substituted for Y3+ occupied the non-centrosymmetric position in the crystal structure of Sr3Y2 (BO3)4. The excitation spectrum indicates that the phosphor can be effectively excited by ultraviolet (254nm, 365nm and 400nm) and blue (470nm) light. The effect of Eu3+ concentration on the red emission of Sr3Y2 (BO3)4:Eu3+ was measured, the result shows that the emission intensities increase with increasing Eu3+ concentration, then decrease. The Commission Internationale del'Eclairage chromaticity (x, y) of Sr3Y2(BO3)4:Eu3+ phosphor is (0.640,0.355) at 15 mol% Eu3+.  相似文献

The exposure of the Cd2Nb2O7:Cr crystal to monochromatic light with wavelength shorter than 600 nm at 12 K decreases the Cr3? photoluminescence emission and allows us to observe thermoluminescence within 60–200 K during subsequent heating of the crystal at a rate of 0.077 K/s. The glow curve of thermoluminescence revealed a rather complex structure with two pronounced intensive glow peaks at 91 and 180 K and four rather weak peaks at 99, 117, 132, and 155K. An analysis of the glow peaks by “an initial rise” gave evidence of many various charge carrier traps with activation energies from 150 to 470 meV. Since a comparison of the thermoluminescence and photoluminescence emission spectra showed that these spectra are identical, it was concluded that the thermoluminescence glow peaks are associated with thermal release of charge carriers from shallow traps followed by Cr4?→Cr3?(2E) and/or Cr2?→Cr3?(2E) charge capture and 2E→4A2 radiative decay of Cr3?(2E) ions.  相似文献

采用高温固相法制备了SrAl2B2O7:Dy3+发光材料.在350nm紫外光激发下,测得SrAl2B2O7:Dy3+材料的发射光谱为一个多峰宽谱,主峰分别为480,573和678nm;分别和Dy3+的4F9/2→6H15/2,4F9/2→6H13/2,4F9/2→6H11/2的跃迁发射相对应;监测573nm的发射峰,得到材料的激发光谱为一个多峰宽谱,主峰分别为295,325,350,365,400nm.研究了Dy3+掺杂浓度对SrAl2B2O7:Dy3+材料发射光谱的影响,随着Dy3+掺杂浓度的增大,SrAl2B2O7:Dy3+材料的Iy/Ib逐渐增大,根据Judd-Ofelt理论解释了其原因.随着Dy3+掺杂浓度的增大,Dy3+的4F9/2→6H13/2跃迁产生的573nm发射峰强度先增大,在4%时达到最大值,之后减小,其自身的浓度猝灭机理为电偶极-电偶极相互作用.不同的电荷补偿剂Li+,Na+,K+的引入均使发光强度得到提高,尤其以Li+最佳,发光强度提高了大约33%.  相似文献

The microstructure of aqueous CuCl2 has been studied through lots of technologies for many years; however, it remains a controversial subject. In this study, a new spectroscopic method has been proposed to analyze the UV-visible spectra of thin film of CuCl2/H2O solutions at different concentrations. This method is the combination of ratio spectra, difference spectra and second order difference spectra. By using this method, two new bands at ~230 and ~380 nm are obviously observed. The bands are assigned as the contacted ion pairs[CuCl3(H2O)n]- or[CuCl4(H2O)n]2-, which demonstrates that ion pairs exist in the CuCl2/H2O solution. Such finding agrees with the recent theoretical spectra obtained by time-dependent density functional theory. Furthermore, the populations of the contacted ion pairs are discussed. This study not only offers the direct spectroscopic evidence of[CuCl3(H2O)n]- or[CuCl4(H2O)n]2- in aqueous CuCl2, but also suggests that the spectroscopic analysis method is powerful to extract the weak bands in a strong overlapping spectrum.  相似文献

In the binary system (1?x)Li2SO4xNa2SO4, the solid–solid phase transitions and energy storage properties of Li2SO4, Na2SO4, the binary compound LiNaSO4 and two eutectoids (E1: 0.726Li2SO4–0.274Na2SO4; E2: 0.03Li2SO4–0.97Na2SO4) were investigated by X-ray diffraction and differential scanning calorimetry. Li2SO4 has a solid–solid phase transition at 578 °C with the transition enthalpy 252 J g?1. The binary compound LiNaSO4 gives a slightly lower enthalpy value, 214 J g?1 and its transition temperature is clearly reduced to 514 °C. The transition enthalpy of the eutectoid E1 is maintained to 177 J g?1 and its transition temperature is further reduced to 474 °C. Li2SO4, LiNaSO4 and the eutectoid E1 are applicable phase transition materials because of their large transition enthalpies. The enthalpies of Na2SO4 and the eutectoid E2 are not very high (~45 J g?1), but their transition temperatures are quite low (~250 °C); thus their transition properties may be applied at such low temperatures.  相似文献

In this paper we report the combustion synthesis of trivalent rare-earth (RE3+ = Dy, Eu and Ce) activated Sr4Al2O7 phosphor. The prepared phosphors were characterized by the X-ray powder diffraction (XRD) and photoluminescence (PL) techniques. Photoluminescence emission peaks of Sr4Al2O7:Dy3+ phosphor at 474 nm and 578 nm in the blue and yellow region of the spectrum. The prepared Eu3+ doped phosphors were excited by 395 nm then we found that the characteristics emission of europium ions at 615 nm (5D0?7F2) and 592 nm (5D0?7F1). Photoluminescence (PL) peaks situated at wavelengths of 363 and 378 nm in the UV region under excitation at around 326 nm in the Sr4Al2O7:Ce3+ phosphor.  相似文献

Trivalent dysprosium ions (Dy3+) doped strontium molybdate (SrMoO4) phosphors were synthesized by solid-state reaction and their photoluminescence (PL) properties were investigated. X-ray powder diffraction (XRD) analysis confirmed the formation of SrMoO4:Dy3+. PL measurements indicated that the phosphor exhibited intense emission at 482, 490 (4F9/26H15/2) and 575 nm (4F9/26H13/2) under UV excitation. The effect of the doping concentration of Dy3+in SrMoO4:Dy3+ on the PL was investigated in detail. Na+ ion was a good charge compensator for SrMoO4:Dy3+.  相似文献

The spin Hamiltonian parameters (g factors g //, g and hyperfine structure constants A //, A ) of Cu2+ in K2SO4?Na2SO4?ZnSO4 glasses are calculated from the high-order perturbation formulas of 3d9 ion in tetragonal octahedral sites. The calculated results are in agreement with the observed values. Since the EPR parameters are sensitive to the local structure of a paramagnetic impurity center, the defect structure of Cu2+ center in K2SO4?Na2SO4?ZnSO4 glasses is estimated. From measurements of temperature dependences of the birefringence and from observations of the domain structure the x, T–phase diagram for the Rb2 x Tl2(1? x )Cd2(SO4)3 solid solutions have been obtained. Ferroelastic domain structure and movement of phase boundaries have been studied in the course of phase transitions in Rb2 x Tl2(1? x )Cd2(SO4)3 crystals. Possible reasons for the appearance of mechanically non-compatible (‘forbidden’) ferroelastic domain walls are given.  相似文献

In this paper, the relationships between the optical spectra and local lattice structure for Mn5+ in a Sr10(VO4)6F2 crystal are established by the crystal- and ligand-field theory. The effect of spin–orbital coupling between the central 3d2 ions and ligand ions has been considered in the full energy matrix. Using the matrix and superposition model formula, we have calculated the optical spectra and local lattice structure parameters of Mn5+ in Sr10(VO4)6F2 with a C3v system. The calculated results are in good agreement with the observed values. In addition, the trigonal compressed distortions of the (MnO4)3? centers in Sr10(VO4)6F2 crystals are also obtained from the calculations.  相似文献

Up-conversion blue emissions of trivalent thulium ions in monoclinic KGd(WO4)2 single crystals at 454 and 479 nm are reported for a single pump laser source at 688 nm. We grew thulium-doped KGd(WO4)2 single crystals at several concentrations from 0.1% to 10%. We recorded a polarized optical absorption spectrum for the 3F2+3F3 energy levels of thulium at room temperature and low temperature (6 K). From the low temperature emission spectra we determined the splitting of the 3H6 ground state. The blue emissions are characterized as a function of the dopant concentration and temperature from 10 K to room temperature. To our knowledge, this is the first time that sequential two-photon excitation process (STEP) generated blue emissions in thulium-doped single crystals with a single excitation wavelength.  相似文献

In the present article, the role of charge compensator ions (R+?=?Li+, Na+ and K+) in europium-doped strontium aluminate (SrAl2O4:Eu3+) phosphors was synthesized by the high-temperature, solid-state reaction method. The crystal structures of sintered phosphors were in a monoclinic phase with space group P21. The trap parameters which are mainly activation energy (E), frequency factor (s) and order of the kinetics (b) were evaluated by using the peak shape method. The calculated trap depths are in the range from 0.76 to 0.84?eV. Photoluminescence measurements showed that the phosphor exhibited emission peak with good intensity at 595?nm, corresponding to 5D07F1 (514?nm) orange emission and weak 5D07F2 (614?nm) red emission. The excitation spectra monitored at 595?nm show a broad band from 220 to 320?nm ascribed to O–Eu charge-transfer state transition and the other peaks in the range of 350–500?nm originated from f–f transitions of Eu3+ ions. The strongest band at 394?nm can be assigned to 7F05L6 transition of Eu3+ ions due to the typical f–f transitions within Eu3+ of 4f6 configuration. The latter lies in near ultraviolet (350–500?nm) emission of UV LED. CIE color chromaticity diagram and thermoluminescence spectra confirm that the synthesized phosphors would emit an orange-red color. Incorporating R+?=?Li+, Na+ and K+ as the compensator charge, the emission intensity of SrAl2O4:Eu3+ phosphor can be obviously enhanced and the emission intensity of SrAl2O4:Eu3+ doping Li+ is higher than that of Na+ or K+ ions.  相似文献
