A hydrogeochemical and stable isotope study (2H and 18O) was carried out in the Cuvelai-Etosha Basin in order to characterize available groundwater and to identify possible recharge mechanisms for the perched aquifers. Data were collected during seven field campaigns between 2013 and 2015 from a total of 24 shallow and deep groundwater hand-dug wells. In the investigated groundwaters, hydrogencarbonate is the dominating anion in both well types, whereas cations vary between calcium and magnesium in deep wells, and sodium and potassium in shallow wells. Groundwater chemistry is controlled by dissolution of carbonate minerals, silicate weathering and ion exchange. Stable isotopic composition suggests that deep groundwater is recharged by high-intensity/large rainfall events, whereas the shallow wells can even be recharged by less-intense/small rainfall events. Water in deep wells reflect a mixture of water influenced by evaporation during or before infiltration and water that infiltrated through fast preferential pathways, whereas shallow wells are strongly influenced by evaporation. The findings of this research contribute to improve the understanding of hydrogeochemistry, recharge paths and temporal variations of perched aquifers.  相似文献

When the bridge piers with shallow foundation are subject to intensive earthquake excitations, uplift of foundations will occur and the foundation soil will partly become plastic. It is very difficult to use an accurate method to simulate the uplifting and yielding of supporting soil. An improved Winkler foundation model, which could be used to consider the uplift and yield, was employed in the analysis. The 1940 El Centro earthquake record is inputted to a rigid pier with shallow foundation so that the non-linear history response is obtained. From the non-linear analysis, it is concluded that the non-linear effect is very remarkable when uplifting and yielding of supporting soil are considered. Compared with the linear analysis, the stiffness of bridge pier-soil system degrades in each cycle after considering uplifting and yielding. It is shown that the non-linear analysis can get larger rotational angles and smaller bending moments compared with the linear analysis.  相似文献

Summary We study nonlinear interactions in measured surface wave trains obtained in the Northern Adriatic Sea about 16 kilometres from Venice, Italy.Nonlinear Fourier analysis is discussed in terms of the exact spectral solution to the Korteweg-deVries (KdV) equation as given by theinverse scattering transform (IST). For the periodic and/or quasi-periodic boundary conditions assumed herein, the approach may be viewed as a nonlinear, broad-banded generalization of the ordinary, linear Fourier transform. In particular, we study solition interactions, their properties and the nonlinear dynamics of the radiation (or oscillation) modes as found from the inverse scattering transform analysis. We also conduct a number of computer experiments in which measured wave trains are numerically propagated forward in time toward shallow water and backward in time into deep water in order to assess how the nonlinear wave dynamics are influenced by propagation over variable bathymetry. On this basis we develop a scenario for the evolution of nonlinear wave trains, initially far offshore in deep water, as they propagate into shallow water regions. The deep-water waves have a small Ursell number and are hence not very nonlinear; as they propagate toward shallow water, the Ursell number gradually increases in the numerical experiments by about an order of magnitude. A useful parameterization of nonlinearity in these studies is the ?spectral modulus,? a number between 0 and 1, which is associated with each IST spectral frequency. Small values of the modulus mean that a particular spectral component is linear (a sine wave); large values of the modulus (≈1) indicate that the component is nonlinear (a soliton). There is a systematic increase of the modulus as the waves propagate into shallow water where nonlinear effects predominate; we describe how the modulus varies as a function of spectral frequency during this shoaling process. The results suggest that the effect of increasing nonlinearity ?saturates? the IST spectrum (i.e. the modulus ≈1 for all frequencies) to that virtually all spectral components become solitons in sufficiently shallow water.  相似文献

研究水表薄油膜厚度与其反射率光谱之间的变化规律,对于分析海洋油膜污染和油气勘探的遥感探测机理具有十分重要的意义。建立了水面薄油膜厚度的生物光学模型,并介绍了单波段和双波段比值简化算法反演薄油膜厚度信息的方法。通过对原油样品进行油膜厚度定量反演,研究了遥感反射率随水表油膜厚度的变化规律。研究发现,可见光到近红外波段(450~800nm)反射率对油膜厚度变化最为敏感,有很高的负相关关系,并且随着油膜厚度的增加呈负指数形态下降。对于浅水环境较混浊的水体,ETM1/ETM3双波段比值模型可以较好的消除线性天空散射光的影响,克服单波段反演模型在不同水质背景下反演效果不稳定的特点,其反演结果的复相关系数R2可以达到0.98,是水表薄油膜厚度遥感探测的较好波段选择。  相似文献

Theoretical predictions about the n-type conductivity in nitride semiconductors are discussed in the light of results of a high-frequency EPR an ENDOR study. It is shown that two types of effective-mass-like, shallow donors with a delocalized wave function exist in unintentionally doped AlN. The experiments demonstrate how the transformation from a shallow donor to a deep (DX) center takes place and how the deep DX center can be reconverted into a shallow donor forming a spin triplet and singlet states.  相似文献

环氧纳米复合电介质具有抑制空间电荷积聚、高电阻率、高击穿强度等优异性能,对直流电力设备的发展具有重要的作用.但纳米粒子含量对纳米复合电介质陷阱、电导率和空间电荷的影响机理尚不清楚.本文在纳米复合电介质交互区结构模型的基础上提出了计算交互区浅陷阱和深陷阱密度的方法,得到了浅陷阱和深陷阱密度随纳米粒子含量的变化关系.随着纳米粒子含量的增加,浅陷阱密度逐渐增大,深陷阱先增加然后由于交互区重叠的影响而逐渐减少.研究了纳米粒子含量对浅陷阱控制载流子迁移率的影响,发现随着纳米粒子的增多,浅陷阱大幅增多,浅陷阱之间的平均间距迅速减小,导致载流子更容易在浅陷阱间跳跃迁移,浅陷阱控制载流子迁移率增大.建立了纳米复合电介质的电荷输运模型,采用电荷输运模型计算研究了环氧/二氧化钛纳米复合电介质的空间电荷分布、电场分布和电导率特性.发现在纳米粒子添加量较小时,交互区的深陷阱对电导的影响起主导作用;纳米粒子添加量进一步增加,浅陷阱对电导的影响将起到主要作用.  相似文献

Water waves are one of the most common phenomena in nature, the studies of which help energy development, marine/offshore engineering, hydraulic engineering, mechanical engineering, etc. Hereby, symbolic computation is performed on the Boussinesq–Burgers system for shallow water waves in a lake or near an ocean beach. For the water-wave horizontal velocity and height of the water surface above the bottom, two sets of the bilinear forms through the binary Bell polynomials and N-soliton solutions are worked out, while two auto-Bäcklund transformations are constructed together with the solitonic solutions, where N is a positive integer. Our bilinear forms, N-soliton solutions and Bäcklund transformations are different from those in the existing literature. All of our results are dependent on the water-wave dispersive power.  相似文献

The establishment of thermal equilibrium between photoinduced (shallow) and ground (deep) states of bistable DX centers in photochromic crystals CdF2:In and CdF2:Ga, which are used as real-time holographic media, is studied based on the notions of chemical kinetics. Two mechanisms of mutual transformation of shallow and deep centers—the tunnel mechanism and the mechanism with the participation of free charge carriers—are considered. Equations describing the decay of a photoinduced shallow state are obtained. These equations take into account the distribution of electrons between the photoinduced and ground states and the conduction band. Analysis of the experimental kinetic curves of the decay of photoexcited shallow centers makes it possible to determine the activation energies and barrier height for thermally activated processes of mutual transformation of shallow and deep centers. In CdF2:In and CdF2:Ga, this barrier, which determines the decay kinetics of holograms, lies above the bottom of the conduction band by ~10 and ~500 meV, respectively.  相似文献

Scour around bridge foundations is one of the leading causes of bridge failure. Up until recently, the monitoring of this phenomenon was primarily based around using underwater instrumentation to monitor the progression of scour holes as they develop around foundation systems. Vibration-based damage detection techniques have been used to detect damage in bridge beams. The application of these vibration based methods to the detection of scour has come to the fore in research in recent years. This paper examines the effect that scour has on the frequency response of a driven pile foundation system, similar to those used to support road and rail bridges. The effect of scour on the vibration characteristics of the pile is examined using laboratory and field testing. It is clear that there is a very clear reduction in the natural frequency of the pile as the severity of scour increases. It is shown that by combining state-of-the-art geotechnical techniques with relatively simple finite element modelling approaches, it is possible to accurately predict the natural frequency of the pile for a given scour depth. Therefore, the paper proposes a method that would allow the estimation of scour depth for a given observed pile frequency.  相似文献

A simple and practical model for the application of shallow rectangular tuned liquid damper (TLD) in structural vibration control is presented in this paper. The dynamic properties of shallow liquid in rectangular containers subjected to forced horizontal oscillation are analysed directly from the continuity and momentum equations of fluids. Following some practical assumptions, the nonlinear partial differential equations describing the wave movement of shallow liquid in rectangular containers are established and a numerical procedure for the solutions of these equations is proposed based on the finite element method. The formula for determining the control force provided by a shallow rectangular TLD is presented. The advantage of the proposed approach for the modeling of shallow rectangular TLD is that it simplifies a three-dimensional problem into a one-dimensional problem and therefore reduces the computation efforts significantly. The whole process forms a solid foundation and provides a simplified procedure for the design and analysis of shallow rectangular TLD.  相似文献

We report a study of charge transfer mechanisms of electrons stimulated optically from very deep traps, also known as donor traps, in α-Al2O3:C. The investigations were carried out using thermally-assisted time-resolved optical stimulation, thermoluminescence and by way of residual thermoluminescence from the main electron trap. When the charges are optically stimulated from the deep traps, they are redistributed via the conduction band to the main electron trap and the shallow trap from where they are optically or thermally released for recombination at luminescence centres. The luminescence is strongly quenched at high measurement temperature as evident by very short luminescence lifetimes at these temperatures. The main peak due to residual thermoluminescence is located at a higher temperature than the conventional main peak.  相似文献

We study the behavior of half-quantum vortices (HQVs) in exciton–polariton condensates in planar semiconductor microcavities in applied magnetic field. Below the critical magnetic field, that is defined by the polariton–polariton interaction constant, the condensate is elliptically polarized and there are two types of HQVs, deep and shallow. They correspond to singularities in majority and minority circular components of the condensate wave function, respectively. The core radius (healing length) of the deep HQVs decreases and the core radius of the shallow HQVs increases with increase of magnetic field. The shallow HQVs disappear and the deep HQVs transform into the integer vortices in the circularly polarized condensate when the applied magnetic field exceeds the critical one.  相似文献

The paper is devoted to stochastic foundation impedance modeling for buildings submitted to vibrations. The hidden-variables method used in seismic engineering is revisited, due to a larger frequency range used in vibration prediction. Indeed, in this new context, instability of the solution and non-physical nature of mass and stiffness random matrices have been observed. The hidden variable method has been therefore implemented by enforcing explicitly the stability of the solution and the positiveness of mass and stiffness matrices. The effects of numerical parameters used throughout the process are shown and the improved hidden-variables method has been used for predicting the level of vibrations inside a building induced by railway sources. 深度较浅的声源其辐射声波在陆架斜坡海域上坡传播时,在斜坡顶端会出现声能量急剧下降现象.利用射线声学模型分析了造成这一现象的原因,并根据抛物方程声场模型计算的深海和浅海平均传播损失定义了"声能量急剧下降距离",定量分析了声源位置对该现象的影响.结果表明:声源深度对"声能量急剧下降距离"影响较大,而声源与斜坡底端水平距离对其影响较小;当声源深度变大时,部分掠射角较小的声线最终能够达到斜坡顶端,致使"声能量急剧下降距离"增大,继续增加声源深度,将导致上坡声能量急剧下降现象消失.利用抛物方程声场模型对陆架斜坡海域上坡声传播进行数值仿真,结合"声能量急剧下降距离"的定义,计算并比较了声源位置不同时该距离的变化,数值计算结果验证了理论分析.  相似文献

We study diffuse reflective optical tomography (DROT), aiming at the real-time imaging of the redox state change of the human cerebral cortex with the brain activity. In the uniform voxel size and simple regularization scheme we studied so far, the spatial resolution in the shallow region is unnecessarily good, whereas the noise and the sensitivity in the shallow region are too large to recover the signal in the depth. In this paper, we propose depth-adaptive voxel size reconstruction. By assigning wider lateral voxel size in the deep range, the relative sensitivity in the deep range is increased so that the signal in the deep range would be less masked by the presence of the unwanted target in the shallow range. We demonstrate that we can detect the deep objects without being masked by the shallow object using the proposed method.  相似文献

本文报导MgO:LiNbO3质子交换波导X射线双晶衍射和红外吸收的实验结果。这些结果表明质子交换波导由浅表面层和深表面层构成。浅表面层是一个连续应变层,有着大量随机排列的O—H—O形式的缔合OH-基团。深表面层是一个均匀应变层,其内H+以自由OH-基团形式出现。质子交换波导折射串不稳定性与双层结构中的结构驰豫密切相关。通过对质子交换过程的分析,提出两条避免双层结构的途径,其一为降低交换剂中的H+浓度,另一条是采用有限源工艺。  相似文献
