We consider semi-stable, radially symmetric, and decreasing solutions of  − Δ p u = g(u) in the unit ball of , where p > 1, Δ p is the p-Laplace operator, and g is a locally Lipschitz function. For this class of radial solutions, which includes local minimizers, we establish pointwise, L q , and W 1,q estimates which are optimal and do not depend on the specific nonlinearity g. Among other results, we prove that every radially decreasing and semi-stable solution u belonging to W 1,p (B 1) is bounded whenever n < p + 4p/(p − 1). Under standard assumptions on the nonlinearity g(u) = λf (u), where λ > 0 is a parameter, it is proved that the corresponding extremal solution u * is semi-stable, and hence, it enjoys the regularity stated in our main result.  相似文献

We deal with positive solutions of Δu = a(x)u p in a bounded smooth domain subject to the boundary condition ∂u/∂v = λu, λ a parameter, p > 1. We prove that this problem has a unique positive solution if and only if 0 < λ < σ1 where, roughly speaking, σ1 is finite if and only if |∂Ω ∩ {a = 0}| > 0 and coincides with the first eigenvalue of an associated eigenvalue problem. Moreover, we find the limit profile of the solution as λ → σ1. Supported by DGES and FEDER under grant BFM2001-3894 (J. García-Melián and J. Sabina) and ANPCyT PICT No. 03-05009 (J. D. Rossi). J.D. Let us consider the class of hypoelliptic operators
where z=(x,t) ∈ℝ N +1, 0 > m 0N the coefficients a i,j belong to the space of vanishing mean oscillation functions (VMO L ) and B=(b i,j ) is a constant real matrix. In this paper we prove that a strong solution to the differential equation Lu=f, with the known term f in the Morrey space L p , λ, belongs to a suitable Sobolev–Morrey space S p , λ. Then we prove some Morrey-type imbedding results that give a local H?lder continuity of the solution u. Received: 14 July 1997 / Revised version: 30 January 1998  相似文献

We study the behaviour of the positive solutions to the Dirichlet problem IR n in the unit ball in IR R wherep<(N+2)/(N−2) ifN≥3 and λ varies over IR. For a special class of functionsg viz.,g(x)=u 0 p (x) whereu 0 is the unique positive solution at λ=0, we prove that for certain λ’s nonradial solutions bifurcate from radially symmetric positive solutions. WhenN=1, we obtain the complete bifurcation diagram for the positive solution curve.  相似文献

In this work we consider the behaviour for large values of p of the unique positive weak solution u p to Δ p u = u q in Ω, u = +∞ on , where q > p − 1. We take q = q(p) and analyze the limit of u p as p → ∞. We find that when q(p)/pQ the behaviour strongly depends on Q. If 1 < Q < ∞ then solutions converge uniformly in compacts to a viscosity solution of with u = +∞ on . If Q = 1 then solutions go to ∞ in the whole Ω and when Q = ∞ solutions converge to 1 uniformly in compact subsets of Ω, hence the boundary blow-up is lost in the limit.  相似文献

This paper deals with a parabolic problem u′ (t)=A (t) u (t)+f (t), u (0)=x, on a Banach space X. We establish maximal Lp regularity, p ∈[1,+∞[, on a suitable extrapolation space of X. As a consequence we obtain weak solutions that have the same regularity of the mild solutions in the autonomous case. Dedicated to Giuseppe Da Prato on the occasion of his 70th birthday  相似文献

We consider the fast diffusion equation (FDE) u t = Δu m (0 < m < 1) on a nonparabolic Riemannian manifold M. Existence of weak solutions holds. Then we show that the validity of Euclidean–type Sobolev inequalities implies that certain L p L q smoothing effects of the type ∥u(t)∥ q Ct −αu 0γ p , the case q = ∞ being included. The converse holds if m is sufficiently close to one. We then consider the case in which the manifold has the addition gap property min σ(−Δ) > 0. In that case solutions vanish in finite time, and we estimate from below and from above the extinction time.   相似文献

We obtain the global W 1,p , 1 < p < ∞, estimate for the weak solution of an elliptic system with discontinuous coefficients in non-smooth domains without using maximal function approach. It is assumed that the boundary of a bounded domain is well approximated by hyperplanes at every point and at every scale, and that the tensor coefficients belong to BMO space with their BMO semi-norms sufficiently small. This paper deals with the blow-up properties of the positive solutions to the nonlocal degenerate semilinear parabolic equation u t − (x a u x ) x =∫ 0 a f(u)dx in (0,a) × (0,T) under homogeneous Dirichlet conditions. The local existence and uniqueness of classical solution are established. Under appropriate hypotheses, the global existence and blow-up in finite time of positve solutions are obtained. It is also proved that the blow-up set is almost the whole domain. This differs from the local case. Furthermore, the blow-up rate is precisely determined for the special case: f(u)=u p , p>1.  相似文献

We discuss the problem of non-linear oscillations of a clamped thermoelastic plate in a subsonic gas flow. The dynamics of the plate is described by von Kármán system in the presence of thermal effects. No mechanical damping is assumed. To describe the influence of the gas flow we apply the linearized theory of potential flows. Our main result states that each weak solution of the problem considered tends to the set of the stationary points of the problem. A similar problem was considered in [27], but with rotational inertia accounted for, i.e. with the additional term −αΔutt,α > 0, and the same result on stabilization was obtained. There was introduced the decomposition of the solution such that the one term tends to zero and the other is compact in special (“local energy”) topology. This decomposition enables us to prove the main result. But the case of rotational inertia neglected (α = 0) appears more difficult. Low a priori smoothness of ut in the case α = 0 prevents us to construct such a decomposition. In order to prove additional smoothness of ut we use analyticity of the corresponding thermoelastic semigroup proved in [25]. The isothermal variant of this problem with additional mechanical damping term −εΔut , ε > 0 was considered in [13] and stabilization to the set of stationary solutions to the problem was proved. The problem, considered in the present work can also be regarded as an extension of the result of [18] to the case when gas occupies an unbounded domain.  相似文献

Let u be harmonic in a simply connected domainG ⊂ ℝ2 and letK be a compact subset of G. In this note, it is proved there exists an “elliptic continuation” of u, namely there exist a smooth functionu 1 and a second order uniformly elliptic operatorL with smooth coefficients in ℝ2, satisfying:u 1=u inK, Lu 1=0 in ℝ2. A similar continuation theorem, with u itself a solution to an elliptic second order equation inG, is also proved.  相似文献

In this paper we prove new Hardy-like inequalities with optimal potential singularities for functions in W1,p(Ω), where Ω is either bounded or the whole space and also some extensions to arbitrary Riemannian manifolds. We also study the spectrum of perturbed Schr?dinger operators for perturbations which are just below the optimality threshold for the corresponding Hardy inequality.  相似文献

Consider the equation −Δu = 0 in a bounded smooth domain , complemented by the nonlinear Neumann boundary condition ∂ν u = f(x, u) − u on ∂Ω. We show that any very weak solution of this problem belongs to L (Ω) provided f satisfies the growth condition |f(x, s)| ≤ C(1 + |s| p ) for some p ∈ (1, p*), where . If, in addition, f(x, s) ≥ −C + λs for some λ > 1, then all positive very weak solutions are uniformly a priori bounded. We also show by means of examples that p* is a sharp critical exponent. In particular, using variational methods we prove the following multiplicity result: if N ∈ {3, 4} and f(x, s) =  s p then there exists a domain Ω and such that our problem possesses at least two positive, unbounded, very weak solutions blowing up at a prescribed point of ∂Ω provided . Our regularity results and a priori bounds for positive very weak solutions remain true if the right-hand side in the differential equation is of the form h(x, u) with h satisfying suitable growth conditions.  相似文献

We consider the nonlinear eigenvalue problem −Δuf(u) in Ω u=0 on ∂Ω, where Ω is a ball or an annulus in RN (N ≥ 2) and λ > 0 is a parameter. It is known that if λ >> 1, then the corresponding positive solution uλ develops boundary layers under some conditions on f. We establish the asymptotic formulas for the slope of the boundary layers of uλ with the exact second term and the ‘optimal’ estimate of the third term.  相似文献

In this paper, we deal with the identification of the space variable time derivative coefficient u in a degenerate fast diffusion differential inclusion. The function u is vanishing on a subset strictly included in the space domain Ω. This problem is approached as a control problem (P) with the control u. An approximating control problem (P ε ) is introduced and the existence of an optimal pair is proved. Under certain assumptions on the initial data, the control is found in W 2,m (Ω), with m>N, in an implicit variational form. Next, it is shown that a sequence of optimal pairs (ue*,ye*)(u_{\varepsilon }^{\ast },y_{\varepsilon }^{\ast }) of (P ε ) converges as ε goes to 0 to a pair (u *,y *) which realizes the minimum in (P), and y * is the solution to the original state system.  相似文献

In this paper we study the existence of bounded weak solutions for some nonlinear Dirichlet problems in unbounded domains. The principal part of the operator behaves like the p-laplacian operator, and the lower order terms, which depend on the solution u and its gradient u, have a power growth of order p–1 with respect to these variables, while they are bounded in the x variable. The source term belongs to a Lebesgue space with a prescribed asymptotic behaviour at infinity.  相似文献

Summary. This is a continuation of our previous work [6] on the investigation of intermittency for the parabolic equation (∂/∂t)u=Hu on ℝ+×ℤ d associated with the Anderson Hamiltonian H=κΔ+ξ(·) for i.i.d. random potentials ξ(·). For the Cauchy problem with nonnegative homogeneous initial condition we study the second order asymptotics of the statistical moments <u(t,0) p > and the almost sure growth of u(t,0) as t→∞. We point out the crucial role of double exponential tails of ξ(0) for the formation of high intermittent peaks of the solution u(t,·) with asymptotically finite size. The challenging motivation is to achieve a better understanding of the geometric structure of such high exceedances which in one or another sense provide the essential contribution to the solution. In this paper, using capacity theory and extension theorem of Lipschitz functions we first discuss the uniqueness of weak solution of nonhomogeneous quasilinear elliptic equationsin space W(θ,p)(Ω), which is bigger than W1,p(Ω). Next, using revise reverse Holder inequality we prove that if ωc is uniformly p-think, then there exists a neighborhood U of p, such that for all t ∈U, the weak solutions of equation corresponding t are bounded uniformly. Finally, we get the stability of weak solutions on exponent p.  相似文献

Let u α be the solution of the It? stochastic parabolic Cauchy problem , where ξ is a space—time noise. We prove that u α depends continuously on α , when the coefficients in L α converge to those in L 0 . This result is used to study the diffusion limit for the Cauchy problem in the Stratonovich sense: when the coefficients of L α tend to 0 the corresponding solutions u α converge to the solution u 0 of the degenerate Cauchy problem . These results are based on a criterion for the existence of strong limits in the space of Hida distributions (S) * . As a by-product it is proved that weak solutions of the above Cauchy problem are in fact strong solutions. Accepted 22 May 1998  相似文献

We consider the existence and uniqueness of singular solutions for equations of the formu 1=div(|Du|p−2 Du)-φu), with initial datau(x, 0)=0 forx⇑0. The function ϕ is a nondecreasing real function such that ϕ(0)=0 andp>2. Under a growth condition on ϕ(u) asu→∞, (H1), we prove that for everyc>0 there exists a singular solution such thatu(x, t)→cδ(x) ast→0. This solution is unique and is called a fundamental solution. Under additional conditions, (H2) and (H3), we show the existence of very singular solutions, i.e. singular solutions such that ∫|x|≤r u(x,t)dx→∞ ast→0. Finally, for functions ϕ which behave like a power for largeu we prove that the very singular solution is unique. This is our main result. In the case ϕ(u)=u q, 1≤q, there are fundamental solutions forq<p*=p-1+(p/N) and very singular solutions forp-1<q<p*. These ranges are optimal. Dedicated to Professor Shmuel Agmon  相似文献
