Suppose that {T t  : t  ≥  0} is a symmetric diffusion semigroup on L 2(X) and denote by its tensor product extension to the Bochner space , where belongs to a certain broad class of UMD spaces. We prove a vector-valued version of the Hopf–Dunford–Schwartz ergodic theorem and show that this extends to a maximal theorem for analytic continuations of on . We prove two results on mod p properties of Siegel modular forms. First, we use theta series in order to construct of a Siegel modular form of weight p−1 which is congruent to 1 mod p. Second, we define a theta operator on q-expansions and show that the algebra of Siegel modular forms mod p is stable under , by exploiting the relation between and generalized Rankin-Cohen brackets.  相似文献

By modifying a construction for Hadamard (Menon) difference sets we construct two infinite families of negative Latin square type partial difference sets in groups of the form where p is any odd prime. One of these families has the well-known Paley parameters, which had previously only been constructed in p-groups. This provides new constructions of Hadamard matrices and implies the existence of many new strongly regular graphs including some that are conference graphs. As a corollary, we are able to construct Paley–Hadamard difference sets of the Stanton-Sprott family in groups of the form when is a prime power. These are new parameters for such difference sets.   相似文献

In the paper, we present upper bounds of L p norms of order ( X)-1/2 for all 1 ≤ p ≤ ∞ in the central limit theorem for a standardized random variable (XX)/ √ X, where a random variable X is distributed by the Poisson distribution with parameter λ > 0 or by the standard gamma distribution Γ(α, 0, 1) with parameter α > 0. We show that for any odd prime p there is a smooth projective threefold W defined over a p-adic field such that the Chow group CH2(W)/ and the Griffiths group Griff2(W)/ are infinite for suitable primes . We further give examples of smooth projective fourfolds over these p-adic fields for which the -torsion subgroup CH3 is infinite.  相似文献

We study extensions of p-local finite groups where the kernel is a p-group. In particular, we construct examples of saturated fusion systems which do not come from finite groups, but which have normal p-subgroups such that is the fusion system of a finite group. One of the tools used to do this is the concept of a “transporter system”, which is modelled on the transporter category of a finite group, and is more general than a linking system. B. Recently the first author presented exact formulas for the number of 2 n -periodic binary sequences with given 1-error linear complexity, and an exact formula for the expected 1-error linear complexity and upper and lower bounds for the expected k-error linear complexity, k ≥ 2, of a random 2 n -periodic binary sequence. A crucial role for the analysis played the Chan–Games algorithm. We use a more sophisticated generalization of the Chan–Games algorithm by Ding et al. to obtain exact formulas for the counting function and the expected value for the 1-error linear complexity for p n -periodic sequences over prime. Additionally we discuss the calculation of lower and upper bounds on the k-error linear complexity of p n -periodic sequences over .   相似文献

We prove firstly the classification theorem for p-harmonic morphisms between Euclidean domains. Let G be countable group and M be a proper cocompact even-dimensional G-manifold with orbifold quotient . Let D be a G-invariant Dirac operator on M. It induces an equivariant K-homology class and an orbifold Dirac operator on . Composing the assembly map with the homomorphism given by the representation of the maximal group C *-algebra induced from the trivial representation of G we define index . In the second section of the paper we show that index = index([D]) and obtain explicit formulas for this integer. In the third section we review the decomposition of in terms of the contributions of fixed point sets of finite cyclic subgroups of G obtained by W. Lück. In particular, the class [D] decomposes in this way. In the last section we derive an explicit formula for the contribution to [D] associated to a finite cyclic subgroup of G.  相似文献

Let be an n-dimensional compact, possibly with boundary, submanifold in an (n + p)-dimensional space form R n+p (c). Assume that r is even and , in this paper we introduce rth mean curvature function S r and (r + 1)-th mean curvature vector field . We call M to be an r-minimal submanifold if on M, we note that the concept of 0-minimal submanifold is the concept of minimal submanifold. In this paper, we define a functional of , by calculation of the first variational formula of J r we show that x is a critical point of J r if and only if x is r-minimal. Besides, we give many examples of r-minimal submanifolds in space forms. We calculate the second variational formula of J r and prove that there exists no compact without boundary stable r-minimal submanifold with in the unit sphere S n+p . When r = 0, noting S 0 = 1, our result reduces to Simons’ result: there exists no compact without boundary stable minimal submanifold in the unit sphere S n+p .   相似文献

We give an explicit formula for the subalgebra zeta function of a general three-dimensional Lie algebra over the p-adic integers . To this end, we associate to such a Lie algebra a ternary quadratic form over . The formula for the zeta function is given in terms of Igusa’s local zeta function associated to this form. We explore the relationship between contact forms on defined by Finsler metrics on and the theory developed by H. Hofer, K. Wysocki and E. Zehnder (Hofer etal. Ann. Math. 148, 197–289, 1998; Ann. Math. 157, 125–255, 2003). We show that a Finsler metric on with curvature K ≥ 1 and with all geodesic loops of length > π is dynamically convex and hence it has either two or infinitely many closed geodesics. We also explain how to explicitly construct J-holomorphic embeddings of cylinders asymptotic to Reeb orbits of contact structures arising from Finsler metrics on with K = 1, thus complementing the results obtained in Harris and Wysocki (Trans. In the work of Hoshino, Kato and Miyachi, [11], the authors look at t-structures induced by a compact object, , of a triangulated category, , which is rigid in the sense of Iyama and Yoshino, [12]. Hoshino, Kato and Miyachi show that such an object yields a non-degenerate t-structure on whose heart is equivalent to Mod(End()op). Rigid objects in a triangulated category can the thought of as behaving like chain differential graded algebras (DGAs). Analogously, looking at objects which behave like cochain DGAs naturally gives the dual notion of a corigid object. Here, we see that a compact corigid object, , of a triangulated category, , induces a structure similar to a t-structure which we shall call a co-t-structure. Let be a compact Riemannian manifold without boundary. In this paper, we consider the first nonzero eigenvalue of the p-Laplacian and we prove that the limit of when is 2/d(M), where d(M) is the diameter of M. Moreover, if is an oriented compact hypersurface of the Euclidean space or , we prove an upper bound of in terms of the largest principal curvature κ over M.
