We describe a method which can be used to interpolate function values at a set of scattered points in a planar domain using bivariate polynomial splines of any prescribed smoothness. The method starts with an arbitrary given triangulation of the data points, and involves refining some of the triangles with Clough-Tocher splits. The construction of the interpolating splines requires some additional function values at selected points in the domain, but no derivatives are needed at any point. Given n data points and a corresponding initial triangulation, the interpolating spline can be computed in just O(n) operations. The interpolation method is local and stable, and provides optimal order approximation of smooth functions.  相似文献

In this paper, we study a flexible piecewise approximation technique based on the use of the idea of the partition of unity. The approximations are piecewisely defined, globally smooth up to any order, enjoy polynomial reproducing conditions, and satisfy nodal interpolation conditions for function values and derivatives of any order. We present various properties of the approximations, that are desirable properties for optimal order convergence in solving boundary value problems. We present a fast algorithm based on polynomial interpolation to approximate matrices arising from the discretization of second-kind integral equations where the kernel function is either smooth, non-oscillatory and possessing only a finite number of singularities or a product of such function with a highly oscillatory coefficient function. Contrast to wavelet-like approximations, ourapproximation matrix is not sparse. However, the approximation can be construced in O(n) operations and requires O(n) storage, where n is the number of quadrature points used in the discretization. Moreover, the matrix-vector multiplication cost is of order O(nlogn). Thus our scheme is well suitable for conjugate gradient type methods. Our numerical results indicate that the algorithm is very accurate and stable for high degree polynomial interpolation.  相似文献

This article considers the extension of V.A. Markov's theorem for polynomial derivatives to polynomials with unit bound on the closed unit ball of any real normed linear space. We show that this extension is equivalent to an inequality for certain directional derivatives of polynomials in two variables that have unit bound on the Chebyshev nodes. We obtain a sharpening of the Markov inequality for polynomials whose values at specific points have absolute value less than one. We also obtain an interpolation formula for polynomials in two variables where the interpolation points are Chebyshev nodes.  相似文献

在L_q-范数逼近的意义下,确定了基于Chebyshev多项式零点的Lagrange插值多项式列和Hermite-Fejér插值多项式列在Wiener空间下的p-平均误差的弱渐近阶.从我们的结果可以看出,当2≤q<∞,1≤p<∞时,基于第一类Chebyshev多项式零点的Lagrange插值多项式列和Hermite-Fejér插值多项式列的p-平均误差弱等价于相应的最佳逼近多项式列的p-平均误差.在信息基计算复杂性的意义下,如果可允许信息泛函为计算函数在固定点的值,那么当1≤p,q<∞时,基于第一类Chebyshev多项式零点的Lagrange插值多项式列和Hermite-Fejér插值多项式列在Wiener空间下的p-平均误差弱等价于相应的最小非自适应p-平均信息半径.  相似文献

The present paper gives a contribution of wavelet aspects to classical algebraic polynomial approximation theory. As is so often the case in classical approximation, the authors follow the pattern provided by the trigonometric polynomial case. Algebraic polynomial interpolating scaling functions and wavelets are constructed by using the interpolation properties of de la Vallée Poussin kernels with respect to the four kinds of Chebyshev weights. For the decomposition and reconstruction of a given function the structure of the involved matrices is studied in order to reduce the computational effort by means of fast discrete cosine and sine transforms. We already generalized the Rutishauser—Gragg—Harrod—Reichel algorithm for discrete least-squares polynomial approximation on the real axis to the rational case. In this paper, a new method for discrete least-squares linearized rational approximation on the unit circle is presented. It generalizes the algorithms of Reichel—Ammar—Gragg for discrete least-squares polynomial approximation on the unit circle to the rationale case. The algorithm is fast in the sense that it requires order m computation time where m is the number of data points and is the degree of the approximant. We describe how this algorithm can be implemented in parallel. Examples illustrate the numerical behavior of the algorithm.  相似文献

本文提出一种基于任意层次T网格的多项式(PHT)样条空间$S(3,3,1,1,T)$的一个新的曲面重构算法.该算法由分片插值于层次T网格上每个小矩形单元对应4个顶点的16个参数的孔斯曲面形式给出.对于一个给定的T网格和相应基点处的几何信息(函数值,两个一阶偏导数和混合导数值),可得到与$S(3,3,1,1,T)$的PHT样条曲面相同的结果,且曲面表达形式更简单,同时,在离散数据点的曲面拟合中,我们给出了自适应的曲面加细算法.数值算例显示,该自适应算法能够有效的拟合离散数据点.  相似文献

Geometry of interpolation sets in derivative free optimization   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2  
We consider derivative free methods based on sampling approaches for nonlinear optimization problems where derivatives of the objective function are not available and cannot be directly approximated. We show how the bounds on the error between an interpolating polynomial and the true function can be used in the convergence theory of derivative free sampling methods. These bounds involve a constant that reflects the quality of the interpolation set. The main task of such a derivative free algorithm is to maintain an interpolation sampling set so that this constant remains small, and at least uniformly bounded. This constant is often described through the basis of Lagrange polynomials associated with the interpolation set. We provide an alternative, more intuitive, definition for this concept and show how this constant is related to the condition number of a certain matrix. This relation enables us to provide a range of algorithms whilst maintaining the interpolation set so that this condition number or the geometry constant remain uniformly bounded. We also derive bounds on the error between the model and the function and between their derivatives, directly in terms of this condition number and of this geometry constant.  相似文献

We obtain the Laurent polynomial of Hermite interpolation on the unit circle for nodal systems more general than those formed by the n-roots of complex numbers with modulus one. Under suitable assumptions for the nodal system, that is, when it is constituted by the zeros of para-orthogonal polynomials with respect to appropriate measures or when it satisfies certain properties, we prove the convergence of the polynomial of Hermite-Fejér interpolation for continuous functions. Moreover, we also study the general Hermite interpolation problem on the unit circle and we obtain a sufficient condition on the interpolation conditions for the derivatives, in order to have uniform convergence for continuous functions.Finally, we obtain some improvements on the Hermite interpolation problems on the interval and for the Hermite trigonometric interpolation.  相似文献

At present, the methods of constructing vector valued rational interpolation function in rectangular mesh are mainly presented by means of the branched continued fractions. In order to get vector valued rational interpolation function with lower degree and better approximation effect, the paper divides rectangular mesh into pieces by choosing nonnegative integer parameters d1 (0 〈 dl ≤ m) and d2 (0 ≤ d2≤ n), builds bivariate polynomial vector interpolation for each piece, then combines with them properly. As compared with previous methods, the new method given by this paper is easy to compute and the degree for the interpolants is lower.  相似文献

众所周知, Hermite有理插值比Hermite多项式插值具有更好的逼近性, 特别是对于插值点序列较大时, 但很难解决收敛性问题和控制实极点的出现. 本文建立了一类线性Hermite重心有理插值函数$r(x)$,并证明其具有以下优良性质: 第一, 在实数范围内无极点; 第二, 当$k=0,1,2$时,无论插值节点如何分布, 函数$r^{(k)}(x)$具有$O(h^{3d+3-k})$的收敛速度; 第三, 插值函数$r(x)$仅仅线性依赖于插值数据.  相似文献

Explicit representations for the Hermite interpolation and their derivatives of any order are provided.Furthermore,suppose that the interpolated function f has continuous derivatives of sufficiently high order on some sufficiently small neighborhood of a given point x and any group of nodes are also given on the neighborhood.If the derivatives of any order of the Hermite interpolation polynomial of f at the point x are applied to approximating the corresponding derivatives of the function f(x),the asymptotic representations for the remainder are presented.  相似文献
