We report the development of a 10?GHz repetition rate all-fiber integrated femtosecond source tunable around 1.55?μm. A phase modulator and sharp spectral filter are used to convert the output of a tunable CW diode to a 10?GHz pulse train. These pulses are compressed using Raman soliton adiabatic compression in a 21?km long length of fiber to generate sub-300-fs duration pulses at a 10?GHz repetition rate. By tuning the wavelength of the diode and appropriate filtering, similar performance was achieved over a 20?nm bandwidth.  相似文献

报道了全光纤结构主动锁模掺铥脉冲激光器,中心波长为1950 nm。利用电光相位调制器对光纤激光器进行腔内相位调制,获得了重复频率为11.884 MHz的主动锁模脉冲输出,脉宽为816 ps。改变泵浦功率、调制信号的频率和幅度,获得了重复频率为4~18 kHz的弛豫振荡调制稳定脉冲输出。锁模和弛豫振荡调制获得的输出脉冲能量波动低于7%。  相似文献

In conventional rational harmonic mode-locking, optical pulse trains with the repetition rate of(pn + 1)fc are generated when the modulation frequency of the in-cavity modulator is set at fm=(n + 1/p)fc, where n and p are both integers, fc is the fundamental cavity frequency. In this paper, we report that rational harmonic mode locking phenomenon takes place in the fiber lasers when the modulation frequency is set at fm =(n + 2/p)fc. The pulse generations are experimentally demonstrated when the numerator of the rational corresponds to 2 in 5th and 7th order rational harmonic mode-locking.  相似文献

实验研究了一种基于谐波拟合产生周期性三角形光脉冲串的方法,方案首先利用马赫曾德调制器的载波抑制调制,获得具有周期性起伏的连续光强度信号,然后利用光纤色散所致的射频功率衰落效应,对光强度表达式中四次谐波分量进行抑制,调节调制深度后,光强度表达式将向理想三角形傅里叶展开式的前三项进行逼近,最后以谐波拟合的方式获得重复频率为射频调制频率二倍的周期性三角形光脉冲串.结合实验,在9.862 GHz和7.678 GHz射频调制频率下,获得了脉冲重复频率19.724 Gb/s(脉冲全宽约50.7 ps)和15.356Gb/s(脉冲全宽约65.1 ps)的稳定三角形光脉冲串输出,改变色散量并反向调节调制频率,可进一步改变脉冲的重复频率,所获得的实验结果与理论预期基本符合.  相似文献

We propose and demonstrate a fiber-based phase-only filtering technique for programmable optical pulse shaping, in which the filtering operation is implemented in the time domain by means of an electro-optical (EO) phase modulator. The technique has been applied for generating customized ultrahigh-repetition-rate optical pulse sequences (>40 GHz) from single input pulses by driving the EO phase modulator with a periodic electronic waveform (RF tone). The generated output pulses are replicas of the input pulse and both the repetition rate and the envelope profile of the generated sequences can be controlled and tuned electronically using this approach.  相似文献

A simple and stable technique of optical short pulse generation for soliton transmission based on external modulation is reviewe.By using nonlinearity of absorption characteristics of an electroabsorption modulator, ultra-short optical pulse trains having a shape close to sech2 shape can be generated just with sinusoidal modulation, without ultra-short driving pulses and ultra-broad bandwidth of the modulator. The pulse width and the repetition rate can be varied by changing the electrical driving conditions. Quasi-transform-limited optical pulseswith time-bandwidth product of 0.32 were successfully generated by the sinusoidally driven InGaAsP electroabsorption modulator with up to 20 GHz repetition rate. An application of a λ/4-shifted DFB laser-electroabsorption modulator integrated light source to a single-chip soliton source is also described. The high quality of the modulator-generator pulses has been proven by long-distance soliton transmission over 6400 km at 2.5 Gb/s using a recirculating fiber loop.  相似文献

A 40-GHz wavelength tunable mode-locked fiber ring laser based on cross-gain modulation in a semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA) is presented. Pulse trains with a pulse width of 10.5 ps at 40-GHz repetition frequency are obtained. The laser operates with almost 40-nm tuning range. The relationship between the key laser parameters and the output pulse characteristics is analyzed experimentally.  相似文献

提出了一种新型的基于光电振荡器的重复频率可调谐的超低抖动光窄脉冲源. 光电振荡器系统可以产生超低相位噪声的微波信号; 被该信号调制的直调光经过两次相位调制之后, 使光脉冲的啁啾增强; 再通过一段色散补偿光纤, 光脉冲被进一步压窄. 实验中使用YIG可调滤波器, 可以得到8–12 GHz内步进为200 MHz的可调谐微波信号, 因此光脉冲的重复频率具有可调谐性. 当微波信号即脉冲重复频率为9.6 GHz时, 测得脉冲宽度为3.7 ps, 相位噪声为-130.1 dBc/Hz@10 kHz. 由此得出光脉冲的瞬时抖动为60.1 fs (100 Hz–1 MHz), 因此该方案产生的光窄脉冲源具有超低的抖动.  相似文献

A method of tunable, high repetition-rate optical pulse generation by using optical injection locking of semiconductor lasers has been described in this paper. This method utilizes the superposition of five coherent optical carriers obtained from the spectrum of optical phase modulation, which results in a sharp optical pulse. Theoretical calculations indicate that a pulse width of 1 ps and a repetition rate of 200 GHz can be achieved for a modulator drive frequency of 40 GHz. We report on the generation of picosecond optical pulses around 1.55 m using a tuneable actively mode-locked erbium-doped fibre ring laser. Pulse widths of less than 10 ps have been achieved within the wavelength range 1518 to 1570 nm at a pulse repetition rate of 20 GHz. Pulse trains with lower repetition rates have been generated using electrical square-wave signals for driving the electrooptic modulator, resulting in <20 ps pulse widths. The implementation of an all polarization-preserving fibre ring cavity enabled stable and reproducible operation of the laser. Minimization of the overall ring dispersion offers tuneability at nearly constant repetition rate throughout the whole wavelength range. Simple analytic expressions are given that allow for optimization of the ring laser performance with respect to output power, relaxation oscillations and wavelength tuneability at constant repetition rate.  相似文献

通过对连续种子光源的光强调制,并利用光纤放大器和固体介质放大器结合的混合放大方式,实现了百兆赫兹高重频可调谐单频激光光源。系统在基模输出条件下的最大输出功率为31.9 W,光束质量因子小于1.5,脉冲重复频率达到100 MHz,脉宽1 ns,测量得到的光束线宽小于0.8 GHz。实验结果验证了通过对连续光源进行光强调制获得高重频脉冲光源的可行性,并验证了混合放大方式是获得功率放大的一种有效手段。  相似文献

报道一种可精确同步输出宽带啁啾脉冲、纳秒级整形脉冲以及窄带光参量啁啾放大抽运脉冲的全光纤多种子激光脉冲产生系统.采用掺镱光纤锁模激光器和掺镱单纵模光纤振荡器作为系统的光源,将掺镱光纤锁模激光器输出的超短脉冲分束啁啾展宽至0.9ns后,一路进行放大产生10μJ量级的宽带啁啾脉冲为高能拍瓦激光器系统提供种子光脉冲,另一路通过1.2nm滤波产生140ps的基元脉冲,通过光纤堆积器产生可编程整形的2.3ns脉冲,再经过放大达到10μJ量级,提供任意整形的压缩脉冲.同时,将部分掺镱光纤锁模激光器输出的超短脉冲进行光电转换并锁相后,产生与锁模超短脉冲高精度同步的电脉冲用于触发幅度调制器,将掺镱单纵模光纤振荡器输出的连续光削波放大,产生光参量啁啾放大抽运脉冲.该系统能够根据物理实验的需要,非常灵活地在输出各种脉冲之间做出选择.  相似文献

We have experimentally achieved the 8.3-ps ultra-short pulse at 10 GHz repetition rate with the time jitter as low as 590 fs in an actively mode-locked fiber ring laser. The ring-cavity laser is mode-locked by a semiconductor optical amplifier based on cross-gain modulation. The external CW source is modulated with radio frequency signal by an amplitude modulator as the external optical pulses and, then, injected into the fiber ring cavity to achieve active mode locking. Further investigating the laser output characteristics, it indicates that the linewidth of employed CW source affects properties of the generated ultra-short pulse, such as phase noise and time jitter. Ultra-short pulse at high repetition rate with low time jitter can be generated by the optimization of CW laser source.  相似文献

We demonstrate a simple lossless method for the implementation of repetition-rate multiplication of a periodic pulse train. As it is showed, a single all-pass optical cavity (APOC) can increase the repetition rate of the output pulse train by factors of 2, 3, and 4. Two different APOC implementations, based on a Gires-Tournois interferometer and an all-pass ring resonator, are proposed and numerically demonstrated.  相似文献

A diode-end-pumped high repetition rate, high peak power acousto-optical (AO) Q-switched 946 nm Nd:YAG laser was demonstrated in this paper. In our experiments, a 20 mm miniature acousto-optical Q-switch was employed in a 45 mm linear laser cavity for generating the short laser pulse. At a repetition rate of 10 kHz, a maximum average output power of 2.9 W was achieved with a pulse width of 24.4 ns, giving a peak power of 11.9 kW. To the best of our knowledge, this is the highest peak power 946 nm Nd:YAG laser at high repetition rate operation. Moreover, pulse train with good stability was also obtained at the repetition rate of 50 kHz. At an incident pump power of 22.3 W, up to an average output power of 3.5 W pulsed 946 nm laser was generated at 50 kHz with a pulse width of 69 ns, corresponding to an optical conversion efficiency of 15.7% and an average slope efficiency of 24.1%, respectively.  相似文献

为推动北京大学超导加速器实验装置不断向强流目标迈进,提出100 W红外高重频光阴极驱动激光的设计方案,主放大器采用先进的光子晶体增益光纤,保证输出光束的质量。对激光系统中的关键问题,如各部分功率指标、脉冲展宽和压缩、激光耦合等进行了设计,并且考虑了激光的非线性影响。为实现强流加速器开机运行所必备的诊断模式,也提出了对于高重频激光进行两级选频的独特设计方案。将高速的SOA光开关和低速的声光调制器相结合,产生宏脉冲结构的输出激光,从而实现加速器在诊断模式下的运行。  相似文献
