We report measurements of the inverse squared magnetic penetration depth, lambda(-2)(T), in Pr(2-x)Ce(x)CuO(4-delta) (0.115< or =x < or =0.152) superconducting films grown on SrTiO3 (001) substrates coated with a buffer layer of insulating Pr2CuO4. lambda(-2)(0), T(c), and normal-state resistivities of these films indicate that they are clean and homogeneous. Over a wide range of Ce doping, 0.124< or =x < or =0.144, lambda(-2)(T) at low T is flat: it changes by less than 0.15% over a factor of 3 change in T, indicating a gap in the superconducting density of states. Fits to the first 5% decrease in lambda(-2)(T) produce values of the minimum superconducting gap in the range of 0.29< or =Delta(min)/k(B)T(c)< or =1.01.  相似文献

We present measurements of the magnetic penetration depth, lambda(-2)(T), in Pr(2-x)Ce(x)CuO(4-y) and La(2-x)Ce(x)CuO(4-y) films at three Ce doping levels, x, near optimal. Optimal and overdoped films are qualitatively and quantitatively different from underdoped films. For example, lambda(-2)(0) decreases rapidly with underdoping but is roughly constant above optimal doping. Also, lambda(-2)(T) at low T is exponential at optimal and overdoping but is quadratic at underdoping. In light of other studies that suggest both d- and s-wave pairing symmetry in nominal optimally doped samples, our results are evidence for a transition from d- to s-wave pairing near optimal doping.  相似文献

The investigation of the penetration depth lambda(ab)(T,p) in YBa2Cu3O7-x crystals allowed one to observe the following features of the superfluid density n(s)(T,p) proportional, variant lambda(-2)(ab)(T,p) as a function of temperature T0) depends on p slightly in the optimally and moderately doped regions (0.10相似文献

We report microwave cavity perturbation measurements of the temperature dependence of the penetration depth, lambda(T), and conductivity, sigma(T) of Pr(2-x)Ce(x)CuO(4-delta) (PCCO) crystals, as well as parallel-plate resonator measurements of lambda(T) in PCCO thin films. Penetration depth measurements are also presented for a Nd(2-x)Ce(x)CuO(4-delta) (NCCO) crystal. We find that Deltalambda(T) has a power-law behavior for T相似文献

The in-plane magnetic penetration depth, lambda(T), was measured down to 0.4 K in single crystals of electron-doped superconductors, Pr(1.85)Ce(0.15)CuO(4-delta) (PCCO) and Nd(1.85)Ce(0.15)CuO(4-delta) (NCCO). In PCCO, the superfluid density varies as T2 from 0.025 up to roughly 0.3T/T(c) suggestive of a d-wave state with impurities. In NCCO, lambda(T) shows a pronounced upturn for T<4 K due to the paramagnetic contribution of Nd3+ ions. Fits to an s-wave order parameter over the standard BCS range (T/T(c) = 0.32) limit any gap to less than Delta(min)(0)/T(c) = 0.57 in NCCO. For PCCO, the absence of paramagnetism permits a lower temperature fit and yields an upper limit of Delta(min)(0)/T(c) = 0.2.  相似文献

We present the first experimental evidence that the heat capacity of superfluid 4He, at temperatures very close to the lambda point T(lambda), is enhanced by a constant heat flux Q. The heat capacity at constant Q, C(Q), is predicted to diverge at a temperature T(c)(Q)相似文献

Classical ionized impurity scattering is employed to calculate the conductivity at and in the vicinity of the critical point. The result sigma(iis)(x = x(c),T) = Asqrt[T], closely given by e(2)/Planck's over 2pilambda(dB) with the de Broglie wavelength lambda(dB) = h/(2m(*)kT)(1/2) in the nondegenerate regime epsilon(F)x(c), T) might also explain the linear scaling behavior sigma(x, T)-Asqrt[T] = sigma(0)(x/x(0)-1).  相似文献

The London penetration depth, lambda(ab)(T), is reported for thin films of the electron-doped superconductor Pr(2-x)Ce(x)CuO(4-delta) with varying Ce concentration, x=0.13, 0.15, and 0.17. Measurements down to 0.35 K were carried out using a tunnel-diode oscillator with excitation fields applied both perpendicular and parallel to the conducting planes. Films at all three doping levels exhibited power law behavior indicative of d-wave pairing with impurity scattering. These results are fully consistent with previous measurements on single crystals.  相似文献

The temperature dependence of the in-plane magnetic penetration depth, lambda(ab)(T), has been measured in a c-axis oriented polycrystalline CaC(6) bulk sample using a high-resolution mutual inductance technique. A clear exponential behavior of lambda(ab)(T) has been observed at low temperatures, strongly suggesting isotropic s-wave pairing. Data fit using the standard BCS theory yields lambda(ab)(0) = (720 +/- 80) A and delta(0) = (1.79 +/- 0.08) meV. The ratio 2delta(0)/k(B)T(c) = (3.6 +/- 0.2) gives indication for a weakly coupled superconductor.  相似文献

The in-plane magnetic field penetration depth (lambda(ab)) in single-crystal La1.83Sr0.17CuO4 was investigated by muon-spin rotation (muSR). The temperature dependence of lambda(ab)(-2) has an inflection point around 10-15 K, suggesting the presence of two superconducting gaps: a large gap (Delta(1)(d)) with d-wave and a small gap (Delta(2)(s)) with s-wave symmetry. The zero-temperature values of the gaps at mu(0)H=0.02 T were found to be Delta(1)(d)(0)=8.2(1) meV and Delta(2)(s)(0)=1.57(8) meV.  相似文献

We report on the c-axis resistivity rho(c)(H) in Bi(2)Sr(2)CaCu(2)O(8+delta) that peaks in quasistatic magnetic fields up to 60 T. By suppressing the Josephson part of the two-channel (Cooper pair/quasiparticle) conductivity sigma(c)(H), we find that the negative slope of rho(c)(H) above the peak is due to quasiparticle tunneling conductivity sigma(q)(H) across the CuO2 layers below H(c2). At high fields (a) sigma(q)(H) grows linearly with H, and (b) rho(c)(T) tends to saturate ( sigma(c) not equal0) as T-->0, consistent with the scattering at the nodes of the d-wave gap. A superlinear sigma(q)(H) marks the normal state above T(c).  相似文献

We report a comparative study of (63)Cu nuclear magnetic resonance spin lattice relaxation rates T(1)(-1) on undoped SrCuO(2) and Ca-doped Sr(0.9)Ca(0.1)CuO(2) spin chain compounds. A temperature independent T(1)(-1) is observed for SrCuO(2) as expected for an S=1/2 Heisenberg chain. Surprisingly, we observe an exponential decrease of T(1)(-1) for T<90 K in the Ca-doped sample evidencing the opening of a spin gap. The data analysis within the J(1)-J(2) Heisenberg model employing density-matrix renormalization group calculations suggests an impurity driven small alternation of the J(2)-exchange coupling as a possible cause of the spin gap.  相似文献

We predict an inhomogeneous phase of superfluid (3)He films in which translational symmetry is spontaneously broken in the plane of the film. This phase is energetically favored over a range of film thicknesses, D(c2)(T) < D < D(c1)(T), separating distinct homogeneous superfluid phases. The instability at the critical film thickness, D(c2) approximately 9 xi (T), is a single-mode instability generating striped phase order in the film. Numerical calculations of the order parameter and free energy indicate a second-order instability to a periodic lattice of degenerate B-like phases separated by domain walls at D(c1) approximately 13 xi (T).  相似文献

Using the CLEO detector at the Cornell Electron Storage Ring, we have studied the distribution of kinematic variables in the decay lambda(+)(c)lambda--> e(+)nu(e). By performing a four-dimensional maximum likelihood fit, we determine the form factor ratio, R= f(2)/f(1) = -0.31 +/- 0.05(stat) +/- 0.04(syst), the pole mass, M(pole) = [2.21 +/- 0.08(stat) +/- 0.14(syst)] GeV/c(2), and the decay asymmetry parameter of the lambda(+)(c), alpha (lambda(c)) = -0.86 +/-0.03(stat) +/- 0.02(syst), for q(2) = 0.67 (GeV/c(2))(2). We compare the angular distributions of the lambda(+)(c) and lambda(-)(c) and find no evidence for CP violation: A(lambda(c)) = (alpha(lambda(c)) + alpha (lambda(c)))/(alpha(lambda(c))-alpha(lambda(c))) = 0.00 +/- 0.03(stat) +/- 0.01(syst) +/- 0.02, where the third error is from the uncertainty in the world average of the CP-violating parameter, A(lambda), for ppi(-).  相似文献

We present high resolution heat capacity measurements of the organic superconductors kappa-(ET)(2)Cu[N(CN)(2)]Br and kappa-(ET)(2)Cu(NCS)(2) in fields up to 14 T. We use the high field data to determine the normal state specific heat and hence extract the behavior of the electronic specific heat C(el) in the superconducting state in zero and finite fields. We find that in both materials for T/T(c) less or similar 0.3, C(el)(H=0) approximately T2 indicating d-wave superconductivity. The data are well described by a strong coupling d-wave model from our base temperature (T/T(c) approximately 0.1) right up to T(c). Our data help to resolve the controversy regarding the order parameter symmetry in these materials.  相似文献

Vortex thermal fluctuations in heavily underdoped Bi(2)Sr(2)CaCu(2)O(8+delta) (T(c)=69.4 K) are studied using Josephson plasma resonance. From the zero-field data, we obtain the c-axis penetration depth lambda(L,c)(0)=230+/-10 micrometer and the anisotropy ratio gamma(T). The low plasma frequency allows us to study phase correlations over the whole vortex solid state and to extract a wandering length r(w) of vortex pancakes. The temperature dependence of r(w) as well as its increase with dc magnetic field is explained by the renormalization of the vortex line tension by the fluctuations, suggesting that this softening is responsible for the dissociation of the vortices at the first order transition.  相似文献

We report measurements of the magnetic penetration depth lambda in single crystals of PrOs4Sb12 down to 0.1 K, with the ac field applied along the a, b, and c directions. In all three field orientations, lambda approximately T2 and superfluid density rho(s) approximately T2 for T<0.3T(c). Data are best fit by the 3He A-phase-like gap with multidomains, each having two point nodes along a cube axis, and parameter Delta(0)(0)/k(B)T(c)=2.6, suggesting that PrOs4Sb12 is a strong-coupling superconductor with two point nodes on the Fermi surface. We also confirm the double transitions at 1.75 and 1.85 K seen in other measurements.  相似文献

Specific heat has been investigated in a layered nitride superconductor, Li(0.12)ZrNCl, with T(c)=12.7 K. The obtained data have shown a marked dichotomy: The specific heat jump at T(c) (DeltaC/gamma(n)T(c)=1.8) and the superconducting gap ratio (2Delta/k(B)T(c)=4.6-5.2) have indicated an intermediate to a strong coupling of electrons, while the upper limit of the electron-phonon coupling constant lambda has directly been estimated to be 0.22, which belongs to a weak coupling regime. Furthermore, the rapid increase of gamma as a function of magnetic field suggests that the present material has an anisotropic s wave gap.  相似文献

The ab-plane reflectance of Bi(2)Sr(2)CaCu(2)O(8+delta) (Bi-2212) thin films was measured in the 30-25 000 cm(-1) range for one underdoped ( T(c) = 70 K), and one overdoped sample ( T(c) = 63 K) down to 10 K. We find similar behaviors in the temperature dependence of the normal-state infrared response of both samples. Above T(c), the effective spectral weight, obtained from the integrated conductivity, does not decrease when T decreases, so that no opening of an optical pseudogap is seen. We suggest that these are consequences of the pseudogap opening in the k = (0,pi) direction and of the in-plane infrared conductivity being mostly sensitive to the k = (pi,pi) direction.  相似文献
