By using the crystalline precursor decomposition approach and direct co-precipitation the composition and mesostructure of cobalt-based spinels can be controlled. A systematic substitution of cobalt with redox-active iron and redox-inactive magnesium and aluminum in a cobalt spinel with anisotropic particle morphology with a preferred 111 surface termination is presented, resulting in a substitution series including Co3O4, MgCo2O4, Co2FeO4, Co2AlO4 and CoFe2O4. The role of redox pairs in the spinels is investigated in chemical water oxidation by using ceric ammonium nitrate (CAN test), electrochemical oxygen evolution reaction (OER) and H2O2 decomposition. Studying the effect of dominant surface termination, isotropic Co3O4 and CoFe2O4 catalysts with more or less spherical particles are compared to their anisotropic analogues. For CAN-test and OER, Co3+ plays the major role for high activity. In H2O2 decomposition, Co2+ reveals itself to be of major importance. Redox active cations in the structure enhance the catalytic activity in all reactions. A benefit of a predominant 111 surface termination depends on the cobalt oxidation state in the as-prepared catalysts and the investigated reaction.  相似文献

The geometrical approach to statistical mechanics is used to discuss changes in entropy upon sequential displacements of the state of the system. An interpretation of the angle between two states in terms of entropy differences is thereby provided. A particular result of note is that any state can be resolved into a state of maximal entropy (both states having the same expectation values for the constraints) and an orthogonal component. We prove that the moduli space of regular stable maps in a complex manifold admits a natural complex orbifold structure. Our proof is based on Hardy decompositions and Fredholm intersection theory. In this paper we prove Morse type inequalities for the contractible 1-periodic solutions of time dependent Hamiltonian differential equations on those compact symplectic manifolds M for which the symplectic form and the first Chern class of the tangent bundle vanish over π2 (M). The proof is based on a version of infinite dimensional Morse theory which is due to Floer. The key point is an index theorem for the Fredholm operator which plays a central role in Floer homology. The index formula involves the Maslov index of nondegenerate contractible periodic solutions. This Maslov index plays the same role as the Morse index of a nondegenerate critical point does in finite dimensional Morse theory. We shall use this connection between Floer homology and Maslov index to establish the existence of infinitely many periodic solutions having integer periods provided that every 1-periodic solution has at least one Floquet multiplier which is not equal to 1.  相似文献

New lactic acid derivatives, based on terphenyl molecular core laterally substituted by chlorine atom, have been synthesised and their liquid crystalline properties studied. We varied the molecular structure by prolonging the non-chiral chain and analysed the mesogenic properties with respect to its length. We found that all new compounds reveal the SmA*–SmC* phase sequence in an extremely broad temperature interval. The experimental techniques, namely the polarising optical microscopy, differential scanning calorimetry, x-ray diffraction and helical pitch measurements, have been applied to establish the physical properties. Studied compounds exhibit very high values of the spontaneous polarisation and the tilt angle grows continuously on cooling up to 42°. The pitch values drop down when prolonging the molecular non-chiral chain.  相似文献
