The action of a plane, absolutely rigid stamp on a transversely isotropic shell is investigated. The use of the equations of shells with finite shear stiffness enables the correct formulation of the problem of the action on a shell by a stamp of fixed length. The problem is reduced to an integral equation. Applying the Fourier transform, the kernel of the integral equation is represented in the form of an expansion with respect to Chebyshev polynomials. By the representation of the solution of the integral equation in the form of a product, of a series of Chebyshev polynomials and a function that takes into account the singularities of the solution at the boundary of the contact zone, the considered problem is reduced to the solving of an infinite system of linear algebraic equations, whose coefficients have been determined by the methods of numerical integration. Spectral analysis of a certain doubly infinite Jacobi operator leads to orthogonality relations for confluent hypergeometric functions, which are called Laguerre functions. This doubly infinite Jacobi operator corresponds to the action of a parabolic element of the Lie algebra su(l, 1). The Clebsch-Gordan coefficients for the tensor product representation of a positive and a negative discrete series representation of su(l,l) are determined for the parabolic bases. They turn out to be multiples of Jacobi functions. From the interpretation of Laguerre polynomials and functions as overlap coefficients, we obtain a product formula for the Laguerre polynomials, given by an integral over Laguerre functions, Jacobi functions and continuous dual Hahn polynomials.  相似文献

We consider the diffraction problem for an elastic wave on a periodic set of defects located at the interface of stratified media. We reduce the mentioned problem to a pair summatory functional equation with respect to coefficients of the expansion of the desired wave by quasiperiodic waves (the Floquet waves). Using the method of integral identities, we reduce the pair equation to a regular infinite system of linear equations. One can solve this system by the truncation method. We prove that the integral identity is the necessary and sufficient condition for the solvability of the auxiliary overspecified problem for a system of equations in a half-plane in the elasticity theory. We obtain integral equations of the second kind which are equivalent to the initial diffraction problem.  相似文献

The torsion of an infinite non-homogeneous elastic cylindrical fiber, containing a penny-shaped crack embedded in an infinite non-homogeneous elastic material is considered. The cylinder and elastic medium have different shear moduli. Using integral transformation techniques the solution of the problem is reduced to the solution of dual integral equations. Later on the solution of the dual integral equations is transformed into the solution of a Fredholm integral equation of the second kind, which is solved numerically. Closed form expressions are obtained for the stress intensity factor and numerical values for the stress intensity factors are graphed to demonstrate the effect of non-homogeneity of the fiber and infinite medium. In the end the stress singularity is obtained when the crack touches the infinite non-homogeneous medium (matrix).  相似文献

The solution of the two-dimensional nonstationary heat conduction equation in axially symmetrical cylindrical coordinates for an unbounded plate is determined in this paper. A solution of the problem is given in the form of functional series, for which every term of a series represents an unknown function of a second kind integral equation. A new type of dual integral equations is used to solve a given boundary-value problem with the help of a Laplace transform and separation of variables.  相似文献

In this paper, a new approximate method has been presented to solve the linear Volterra integral equation systems (VIEs). This method transforms the integral system into the matrix equation with the help of Taylor series. By merging these results, a new system which corresponds to a system of linear algebraic equations is obtained. The solution of this system yields the Taylor coefficients of the solution function. Also, this method gives the analytic solution when the exact solutions are polynomials. So as to show this capability and robustness, some systems of VIEs are solved by the presented method in order to obtain their approximate solutions.  相似文献

We present a class of orthogonal functions on infinite domain based on Jacobi polynomials. These functions are generated by applying a tanh transformation to Jacobi polynomials. We construct interpolation and projection error estimates using weighted pseudo-derivatives tailored to the involved mapping. Then, using the nodes of the newly introduced tanh Jacobi functions, we develop an efficient spectral tanh Jacobi collocation method for the numerical simulation of nonlinear Schrödinger equations on the infinite domain without using artificial boundary conditions. The applicability and accuracy of the solution method are demonstrated by two numerical examples for solving the nonlinear Schrödinger equation and the nonlinear Ginzburg–Landau equation.  相似文献

The aim of this article is to present the essential properties of a finite class of orthogonal polynomials related to the probability density function of the F -distribution over the positive real line. We introduce some basic properties of the Romanovski–Jacobi polynomials, the Romanovski–Jacobi–Gauss type quadrature formulae and the associated interpolation, discrete transforms, spectral differentiation and integration techniques in the physical and frequency spaces, and basic approximation results for the weighted projection operator in the nonuniformly weighted Sobolev space. We discuss the relationship between such kinds of finite orthogonal polynomials and other classes of infinite orthogonal polynomials. Moreover, we derive spectral Galerkin schemes based on a Romanovski–Jacobi expansion in space and time to solve the Cauchy problem for a scalar linear hyperbolic equation in one and two space dimensions posed in the positive real line. Two numerical examples demonstrate the robustness and accuracy of the schemes.  相似文献

The plane problem of the evolution of a hydraulic fracture crack in an elastic medium is considered. It is established that a self-similar solution is only possible at a constant rate of fluid injection. The solution for the value of the crack opening is presented in the form of a series expansion in Chebyshev polynomials of the second kind, and expansion coefficients are obtained as a solution of the algebraic set of equations which arise when projecting the balance equation for injected fluid mass on Chebyshev polynomials. When there is no part of the region unfilled with fluid (a fluid lag), the gradient of the crack opening at the crack tip turns out to be singular when the finiteness of the medium stress intensity factor is taken into account. According to the estimate made, the rate of convergence of the series expansion for the solution in Chebyshev polynomials is fairly rapid for a small injection intensity.  相似文献

In this paper, we present a method to solve nonlinear Volterra-Fredholm-Hammerstein integral equations in terms of Bernstein polynomials. Properties of these polynomials and operational matrix of integration together with the product operational matrix are first presented. These properties are then utilized to transform the integral equation to a matrix equation which corresponds to a system of nonlinear algebraic equations with unknown Bernstein coefficients. The method is computationally very simple and attractive and numerical examples illustrate the efficiency and accuracy of the method.  相似文献

A direct central collision of two bodies of revolution is studied. A nonstationary mixed boundary-value problem with an unknown moving boundary is formulated. Its solution is represented by a series in term of Bessel functions. An infinite system of Volterra equations of the second kind for the unknown expansion coefficients is derived by satisfying the boundary conditions. This note is concerned with the problem of determining approximate solutions of Fredholm integral equations of the second kind. Approximating the solution of a given integral equation by means of a polynomial, an over-determined system of linear algebraic equations is obtained involving the unknown coefficients, which is finally solved by using the least-squares method. 利用Schmidt方法对压电压磁复合材料中一对平行对称裂纹对反平面简谐波的散射问题进行了分析,借助富里叶变换得到了以裂纹面上的间断位移为未知变量的对偶积分方程.在求解对偶积分方程的过程中,裂纹面上的间断位移被展开成雅可比多项式的形式,最终获得了应力强度因子、电位移强度因子、磁通量强度因子三者之间的关系.结果表明,压电压磁复合材料中平行裂纹动态反平面断裂问题的应力奇异性与一般弹性材料中的动态反平面断裂问题的应力奇异性相同,同时讨论了裂纹间的屏蔽效应.  相似文献

The formula of expressing the coefficients of an expansion of ultraspherical polynomials that has been integrated an arbitrary number of times in terms of the coefficients of the original expansion is stated in a more compact form and proved in a simpler way than the formula of Phillips and Karageorghis (1990). A new formula is proved for the q times integration of ultraspherical polynomials, of which the Chebyshev polynomials of the first and second kinds and Legendre polynomials are important special cases. An application of these formulae for solving ordinary differential equations with varying coefficients is discussed.  相似文献

In this paper, we apply transcendental Bernstein series (TBS) for solving reaction–diffusion equations with nonlocal boundary conditions which is the novel approximation tool. To carry out the method, we firstly expand the solution of the system in the term of TBS through the operational matrix scheme. To determine the unknown free coefficients and control parameters appeared in TBS expansion, we define an optimization problem which combines the reaction–diffusion equation with its nonlocal boundary conditions. Then we use the Lagrange multipliers technique for converting the problem under study into a system of algebraic equations. High accuracy and simplicity in reducing the integral boundary conditions are some privileges of the proposed scheme. We emphasize that Bernstein polynomials is the particular case of transcendental Bernstein series. Theoretical discussion about convergence confirms the reliability of the proposed method. Some test problems are chosen to investigate the applicability and computational efficiency. The experimental results confirm that the obtained results are in good agreement with the exact solutions with high rate of convergence.  相似文献
