In this paper, we study a strongly coupled reaction–diffusion system describing three interacting species in a food chain model, where the third species preys on the second one and simultaneously the second species preys on the first one. We first show that the unique positive equilibrium solution is globally asymptotically stable for the corresponding ODE system. The positive equilibrium solution remains linearly stable for the reaction–diffusion system without cross-diffusion, hence it does not belong to the classical Turing instability scheme. We further proved that the positive equilibrium solution is globally asymptotically stable for the reaction–diffusion system without cross-diffusion by constructing a Lyapunov function. But it becomes linearly unstable only when cross-diffusion also plays a role in the reaction–diffusion system, hence the instability is driven solely from the effect of cross-diffusion. Our results also exhibit some interesting combining effects of cross-diffusion, intra-species competitions and inter-species interactions.  相似文献

We consider the methods for matrix correction or correction of all parameters of systems of linear equations and inequalities. We show that the problem of matrix correction of an inconsistent system of linear inequalities with the nonnegativity condition is reduced to a linear programming problem. Some stability measure is defined for a given solution to a system of linear inequalities as the minimal possible variation of parameters under which this solution does not satisfy the system. The problem of finding the most stable solution to the system is considered. The results are applied to constructing an optimal separating hyperplane in the feature space that is the most stable to the changes of features of the objects.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider periodic systems of ordinary differential equations with impulse perturbations at fixed points of time. It is assumed that the system possesses the trivial solution. We show that if the trivial solution of the system is stable or asymptotically stable, then it is uniformly stable or uniformly asymptotically stable, respectively. By using the method of Lyapunov functions, we establish criteria of uniform asymptotical stability and instability.  相似文献

We consider a linear system of differential equations multiplicatively perturbed by a random noise and obtain formulas for the expectation and the correlation function of the solution. We show that, under a multiplicative perturbation, a Lyapunov unstable linear system can become asymptotically stable in mean, and a stable linear system can become unstable in mean. ABSTRACT. This paper investigates how the stability of forest age-distribution is related to the fire regimes. We start with the derivation of theoreticalnegative exponentialforest age-distribution, and use three models to explore the condition with which a stable age-distribution could be expected. The results suggested that a stable age-distribution could always be achieved as long as the forest age-specific mortality is constant over time, and the shape of a stable age-distribution is mainly determined by the forest age-specific mortality. However, the stability of forest age-distribution will be reduced when a small variation in the age-specific mortality is introduced. The simulation results of the possible patterns of the age-distribution under various fire regimes indicated that a variety of age-distribution curves could appear, including negative exponential and one or multiple peaks in the curves. The results suggested that a stable forest age-distribution might never be achieved if the forest landscape is subjected to large and irregular fire disturbances.  相似文献

We obtain new sufficient conditions for the local and global asymptotic stabilization of the zero solution of a nonlinear affine control system with discrete time and with constant coefficients by a continuous state feedback. We assume that the zero solution of the free system is Lyapunov stable. For systems with linear drift, we construct a bounded control in the problem of global asymptotic state and output stabilization. Corollaries for bilinear systems are obtained.  相似文献

The Lengyel–Epstein reaction–diffusion system of the CIMA reaction is revisited. We construct a Lyapunov function to show that the constant equilibrium solution is globally asymptotically stable when the feeding rate of iodide is small. We also show that for small spatial domains, all solutions eventually converge to a spatially homogeneous and time-periodic solution.  相似文献

We consider perturbed linear systems of difference equations with periodic coefficients. The zero solution of a nonperturbed system is assumed asymptotically stable, i.e., all eigenvalues of the monodromy matrix belong to the unit disk {||<1}. We obtain conditions on the perturbation of this system under which the zero solution of the system is asymptotically stable and also establish continuous dependence of one class of numeric characteristics of asymptotic stability of solutions on the coefficients of the system.  相似文献

This paper discusses a discrete Lotka-Volterra competition system. We first obtain the persistence of the system. Assuming that the coefficients in the system are periodic, we obtain the existence of a periodic solution. Moreover, under some additional conditions, this periodic solution is globally stable. Our results not only reduce to those for the scalar equation when there is no coupling but also improve and complement some in the literature.  相似文献

We investigate the global exponential stability of equilibrium solutions of a projected dynamical system for variational inequalities. Under strong pseudomonotonicity and Lipschitz continuity assumptions, we prove that the dynamical system has a unique equilibrium solution. Moreover, this solution is globally exponentially stable. Some examples are given to analyze the effectiveness of the theoretical results. The numerical results confirm that the trajectory of the dynamical system globally exponentially converges to the unique solution of the considered variational inequality. We discuss the problem of the existence of periodic and stationary solutions of affine stochastic differential equations. We prove that under a controllability condition the system has a periodic solution if and only if the linear part is eyponentially stable in mean square.

We consider a reaction-diffusion system of the activator-inhibitor type with unilateral boundary conditions leading to a quasivariational inequality. We show that there exists a positive eigenvalue of the problem and we obtain an instability of the trivial solution also in some area of parameters where the trivial solution of the same system with Dirichlet and Neumann boundary conditions is stable. Theorems are proved using the method of a jump in the Leray-Schauder degree.  相似文献
