A set of sensing coils to measure plasma position is described. The possibility of placing these coils outside a vacuum vessel (as a resistive shell) is considered by analyzing a feedback system for controlling otherwise unstable axisymmetric motion. A simple model was used to study the axisymmetric stability of a noncircular plasma surrounded by a conducting vacuum vessel and a feedback control system. Suitable choice of the various constants allowed a study of either horizontally or vertically unstable motion, either with or without an iron core and with various configurations for the vacuum vessel. Analytic expressions for the stability limits are derived, together with the specific response to a requested step displacement, giving the overshoot, steady-state error, decay times, and maximum power supply voltage. By suitably choosing an effective decay index both vertical and horizontal motion were studied. The results are applied to TEXT Upgrade (horizontal elongated, with iron core, horizontal unstable) using an effective decay index of -1  相似文献

In this experiment, the effect of magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) fluctuations in the hard X-ray radiation from the IR-T1 tokamak plasma is investigated. To reach this goal, the main parameters of plasma such as plasma current and loop voltage are measured. Also, the rake and poloidal Langmuir probes are used to calculate the radial and poloidal electric fields. To detect the hard X-ray radiation, a NaI-scintillator detector is used. To study on the MHD fluctuations, an array of 12 Mirnov coils is used. The obtained data are analyzed by using the singular value decomposition (SVD) algorithm. The wavelet spectrum of the dominant principal components of Mirnov coils is drawn. The results of wavelet and SVD analysis show that the hard X-ray radiation is increased with increasing the fluctuations of the dominant principal components (at the same time). It is also shown that the rate of hard X-ray radiation emitted from the tokamak plasma increased with increasing the MHD fluctuations. The energy of the system is wasted and reduced by these radiations. This an increase in the particle pressure of the plasma.  相似文献

In order to provide efficient performance of tokamaks with vertically elongated plasma position, control systems for limited and diverted plasma configuration are required. The accuracy, stability, speed of response, and reliability of plasma position control as well as plasma shape and current control depend on the performance of the control system. Therefore, the problem of the development of such systems is an important and actual task in modern tokamaks. In this study, the measured signals from the magnetic loops and Rogowski coils are used to reconstruct the plasma equilibrium, for which linear models in small deviations are constructed. We apply methods of the H∞-optimization theory to the synthesize control system for vertical and horizontal position of plasma capable to working with structural uncertainty of the models of the plant. These systems are applied to the plasma-physical DINA code which is configured for the tokamak Globus-M plasma. The testing of the developed systems applied to the DINA code with Heaviside step functions have revealed the complex dynamics of plasma magnetic configurations. Being close to the bifurcation point in the parameter space of unstable plasma has made it possible to detect an abrupt change in the X-point position from the top to the bottom and vice versa. Development of the methods for reconstruction of plasma magnetic configurations and experience in designing plasma control systems with feedback for tokamaks provided an opportunity to synthesize new digital controllers for plasma vertical and horizontal position stabilization. It also allowed us to test the synthesized digital controllers in the closed loop of the control system with the DINA code as a nonlinear model of plasma.  相似文献

Hall sensors offer an attractive true non-inductive method of magnetic field measurements for fusion devices. However, there is only limited experience in using of these sensors in such demanding environment (high heat loads, radiation, and electromagnetic noise). Recently, a combined magnetic probe was developed for CASTOR tokamak, which contains 3 Hall sensors and 3 coils arranged to measure all three components of magnetic field approximately in a single point of space. The probe is compatible with in-vessel use well in confinement region of CASTOR. It is fully controlled by multi-functional electronic system that drives the Hall probes, amplifies their output signals, performs the A/D conversion and stores the measured data on PC. The bandwidth of the system is up to 200 kHz. Design of the system and its implementation on CASTOR is reviewed. Results obtained using this diagnostic on CASTOR tokamak is presented. Radial profile of the poloidal magnetic field is used to deduce radial profile of safety factor.  相似文献

The Fourier analysis is a satisfactory technique for detecting plasma confinement modes in tokamaks. The confinement mode of tokamak plasma was analysed using the fast Fourier transformation (FFT). For this purpose, we used the data of Mirnov coils that is one of the identifying tools in the IR-T1 tokamak, with and without external field (electric biasing), and then compared it with each other. After the Fourier analysis of Mirnov coil data, the diagram of power spectrum density was depicted in different angles of Mirnov coils in the ‘presence of external field’ as well as in the ‘absence of external field’. The power spectrum density (PSD) interprets the manner of power distribution of a signal with frequency. In this article, the number of plasma modes and the safety factor q were obtained by using the mode number of q = m /n (m is the mode number). The maximum MHD activity was obtained in 30–35 kHz frequency, using the density of the energy spectrum. In addition, the number of different modes across 0–35 ms time was compared with each other in the presence and absence of the external field.  相似文献

For long duration steady state operation of SST1, it would be very crucial to maintain the plasma radial and vertical positions accurately. For designing the position controller in SST1 we have adopted the simple linear RZIP control model. While the vertical position instability is slowed down by a set of passive stabilizers placed closed to the plasma edge, a pair of in-vessel active feedback coils can adequately control vertical position perturbations of up to 1 cm. The shifts in radial position arising due to minor disruptions would be controlled by a separate pair of poloidal field (PF) coils also placed inside the vessel, however the controller would ignore fast but insignificant changes in radius arising due to edge localised modes. The parameters of both vertical and radial position control coils and their power supplies are determined based on the RZIP simulations.  相似文献

利用积分方法对多种电流剖面下HL2A装置单零偏滤器位形特征进行了计算研究。积分方法的优点是可以在任意电流剖面下求解具有X-点的自由边界的Grad-Shafranov方程。对HL2A装置而言,大体上可以在合理设定的分界面形状下,经几次叠代计算出各组极向场线圈(垂直场,三对多极场和多极补偿场以及水平场)中的电流。HL-2A的单零偏滤器位形基本上是圆截面加上在X-点附近的局部形变。对刮离区和偏滤器靶板区磁力线特性进行了分析以确定偏滤器的品质。  相似文献

The tearing mode (TM) plasma instability was observed in low confinement (L-mode) plasmas when non-axisymmetric magnetic perturbation (MP) was applied using external coils during 2011 campaign of KSTAR. Based on the collected information of the magnetic island location in a plasma, a discharge was designed for suppression of a (2,1) TM mode by adjusting electron cyclotron (EC) launcher angles to the estimated island position. Here, the (m,n) notation describes the poloidal mode number and the toroidal mode number of the TM, respectively. The discharge is analysed with experimental observations and numerical simulations. Mirnov coil (MC) arrays and electron cyclotron emission (ECE) are used for analysis of the island width and the location as well as the mode number. The EC deposition and its alignment with the island are estimated by X-ray imaging crystal spectroscopy (XICS) and ECE measurements. An integrated numerical system is employed for modelling of this discharge to analyse a temporal evolution of the mode activity by integrating plasma equilibrium, transport, heating and current drive, and the magnetic island evolution, in a self-consistent way. The effect of EC current drive is discussed by comparing with another TM discharge but without ECCD. Some possibilities for classifying this mode to neoclassical tearing mode (NTM) and stabilisation effect of ECCD are suggested based on the experimental observation and the simulation results.  相似文献

The edge plasma characteristics are studied by both a movable array of Mach/Reynolds stress/Langmuir 10-probes in the boundary region and the fixed flush probe arrays on the 4 divertor neutralization plates at the same toroidal cross-section in the HL-2A tokamak. The dependence of the Reynolds stress on poloidal flow in the edge plasma is analysed. The result indicates that the sheared poloidal flow in tokamak plasma can be induced by the radial gradient of Reynolds stress. In the divertor experiments of HL-2A, the profiles of the electron temperature, density and floating potential on divertor plates are measured by the flush probe arrays. The edge electron temperature in divertor configuration is higher than that in limiter configuration. The temperature asymmetry between outer and inner target plates is observed. The result of magnetic surface reconstructed from 18 Mirnov coils signals is presented. Both the particle recycling and the impurity flux in the bulk plasma during divertor discharges are discussed. Neutral gas pressure in divertor chamber, measured by fast ionization gauge during divertor discharge, is given.  相似文献

Three-dimensional (3D) digital image correlation (DIC) is becoming widely used to characterize the behavior of structures undergoing 3D deformations. However, the use of 3D-DIC can be challenging under certain conditions, such as high magnification, and therefore small depth of field, or a highly controlled environment with limited access for two-angled cameras. The purpose of this study is to compare 2D-DIC and 3D-DIC for the same inflation experiment and evaluate whether 2D-DIC can be used when conditions discourage the use of a stereo-vision system. A latex membrane was inflated vertically to 5.41 kPa (reference pressure), then to 7.87 kPa (deformed pressure). A two-camera stereo-vision system acquired top-down images of the membrane, while a single camera system simultaneously recorded images of the membrane in profile. 2D-DIC and 3D-DIC were used to calculate horizontal (in the membrane plane) and vertical (out of the membrane plane) displacements, and meridional strain. Under static conditions, the baseline uncertainty in horizontal displacement and strain were smaller for 3D-DIC than 2D-DIC. However, the opposite was observed for the vertical displacement, for which 2D-DIC had a smaller baseline uncertainty. The baseline absolute error in vertical displacement and strain were similar for both DIC methods, but it was larger for 2D-DIC than 3D-DIC for the horizontal displacement. Under inflation, the variability in the measurements were larger than under static conditions for both DIC methods. 2D-DIC showed a smaller variability in displacements than 3D-DIC, especially for the vertical displacement, but a similar strain uncertainty. The absolute difference in the average displacements and strain between 3D-DIC and 2D-DIC were in the range of the 3D-DIC variability. Those findings suggest that 2D-DIC might be used as an alternative to 3D-DIC to study the inflation response of materials under certain conditions.  相似文献

 数字信号处理技术在现代束流诊断中有成熟的应用,特别是在束流位置检测器信号分析和工作点测量时有优越的性能。在合肥光源工作点测量中,采用高斯白噪声激励起束流横向振荡,再利用Libera数字束流位置处理器采集激励后的束流位置信号,并进行幅度解调得到束流横向振荡频率,再利用Matlab进行快速傅里叶分析处理,得到工作点的小数部分,从而实现工作点测量。在合肥光源上进行实验,测量得到其水平工作点是3.535 2,垂直工作点是2.629 9。  相似文献

A rotating Mach probe is designed and used for measurement of plasma flows on the CASTOR tokamak. Measurements are performed at standard discharge conditions as well as in shots with edge plasma polarization. We investigate plasma turbulence at the scrape-off layer of TCABR tokamak. We apply a power spectral analysis to the magnetic Mirnov oscillations and electrostatic fluctuations, to quantify statistical properties and to estimate the turbulence-driven radial-particle flux. A distinctive peculiarity is the modulation of electrostatic turbulence by the Mirnov oscillations shown by the partial superposition of the frequency power spectra of these two oscillations. This characteristic allows us to investigate any possible influence of the Mirnov oscillations on particle transport. In fact, a significant part of this transport occurs at the Mirnov frequencies. The effect of this modulation is also analyzed for discharges modified by external perturbations, a DC biased electrode or an ergodic magnetic limiter.Presented at the Workshop Electric Fields Structures and Relaxation in Edge Plasmas, Nice, France, October 26–27, 2004.  相似文献
