We prove comparison, uniqueness and existence results for viscosity solutions to a wide class of fully nonlinear second order partial differential equations F(x,u,du,d2u)=0 defined on a finite-dimensional Riemannian manifold M. Finest results (with hypothesis that require the function F to be degenerate elliptic, that is nonincreasing in the second order derivative variable, and uniformly continuous with respect to the variable x) are obtained under the assumption that M has nonnegative sectional curvature, while, if one additionally requires F to depend on d2u in a uniformly continuous manner, then comparison results are established with no restrictive assumptions on curvature.  相似文献

We study uniformly elliptic fully nonlinear equations of the type F(D2u,Du,u,x)=f(x). We show that convex positively 1-homogeneous operators possess two principal eigenvalues and eigenfunctions, and study these objects; we obtain existence and uniqueness results for nonproper operators whose principal eigenvalues (in some cases, only one of them) are positive; finally, we obtain an existence result for nonproper Isaac's equations.  相似文献

This paper deals with a class of degenerate quasilinear elliptic equations of the form −div(a(x,u,u)=g−div(f), where a(x,u,u) is allowed to be degenerate with the unknown u. We prove existence of bounded solutions under some hypothesis on f and g. Moreover we prove that there exists a renormalized solution in the case where gL1(Ω) and f∈(Lp(Ω))N.  相似文献

For any −1<m<0, positive functions f, g and u0≥0, we prove that under some mild conditions on f, g and u0 as R the solution uR of the Dirichlet problem ut=(um/m)xx in (−R,R)×(0,), u(R,t)=(f(t)|m|R)1/m, u(−R,t)=(g(t)|m|R)1/m for all t>0, u(x,0)=u0(x) in (−R,R), converges uniformly on every compact subset of R×(0,T) to the solution of the equation ut=(um/m)xx in R×(0,T), u(x,0)=u0(x) in R, which satisfies some mass loss formula on (0,T) where T is the maximal time such that the solution u is positive. We also prove that the solution constructed is equal to the solution constructed in Hui (2007) [15] using approximation by solutions of the corresponding Neumann problem in bounded cylindrical domains.  相似文献

We construct spike layered solutions for the semilinear elliptic equation −ε2Δu+V(x)u=K(x)up−1 on a domain ΩRN which may be bounded or unbounded. The solutions concentrate simultaneously on a finite number of m-dimensional spheres in Ω. These spheres accumulate as ε→0 at a prescribed sphere in Ω whose location is determined by the potential functions V,K.  相似文献

We establish a result concerning the existence of entire, positive, classical and bounded solutions which converge to zero at infinity for the semi-linear equation −Δu=λf(x,u),xRN, where f:RN×(0,)→[0,) is a suitable function and λ>0 is a real parameter. This result completes the principal theorem of A. Mohammed [A. Mohammed, Ground state solutions for singular semi-linear elliptic equations, Nonlinear Analysis (2008) doi:10.1016/j.na.2008.11.080] mainly because his result does not address the super-linear terms at infinity. Penalty arguments, lower-upper solutions and an approximation procedure will be used.  相似文献

In this paper we study the monotonicity of positive (or non-negative) viscosity solutions to uniformly elliptic equations F(∇u,D2u)=f(u) in the half plane, where f is locally Lipschitz continuous (with f(0)?0) and zero Dirichlet boundary conditions are imposed. Using the notion of a differential equation which describes an η-pseudospherical surface (η-p.s.s.), we give a characterization of the equations of type uxt = F(u, ux,…, ?ku / ?xk), k ≥ 2, with this property. We obtain a systematic procedure to determine a linear problem for which a given equation is the integrability condition. The equations of type uxt = F(u, ux) were characterized by Rabelo and Tenenblat in another paper. The theory is applied to several equations, some of which were not known to describe η-p.s.s.  相似文献

We consider the problem −Δu+a(x)u=f(x)|u|2*−2u in Ω, u=0 on ∂Ω, where Ω is a bounded smooth domain in RN, N?4, is the critical Sobolev exponent, and a,f are continuous functions. We assume that Ω, a and f are invariant under the action of a group of orthogonal transformations. We obtain multiplicity results which contain information about the symmetry and symmetry-breaking properties of the solutions, and about their nodal domains. Our results include new multiplicity results for the Brezis-Nirenberg problem −Δu+λu=|u|2*−2u in Ω, u=0 on ∂Ω.  相似文献

We will prove that a solution u of the polyharmonic equation Δmu=0 in Ω?{x0} has a removable singularity at x0 if and only if as |xx0|→0 for n≥3 and as |xx0|→0 for n=2. For m≥2 we will also prove that u has a removable singularity at x0 if |u(x)|=o(|xx0|2mn) as |xx0|→0 for n≥3 and |u(x)|=o(|xx0|2m−2log(|xx0|−1)) as |xx0|→0 for n=2.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with the following systems of Kirchhoff‐type equations: Under more relaxed assumptions on V(x) and F(x,u,v), we first prove the existence of at least two nontrivial solutions for the aforementioned system by using Morse theory in combination with local linking arguments. Then by using the Clark theorem, the existence results of at least 2k distinct pairs of solutions are obtained. Some recent results from the literature are extended. We show that W 2,p weak solutions of the k-Hessian equation F k (D 2 u) = g(x) with k≥ 2 can be approximated by smooth k-convex solutions v j of similar equations with the right hands sides controlled uniformly in C 0,1 norm, and so that the quantities are bounded independently of j. This result simplifies the proof of previous interior regularity results for solutions of such equations. It also permits us to extend certain estimates for smooth solutions of degenerate two dimensional Monge–Ampère equations to W 2,p solutions. We investigate entire radial solutions of the semilinear biharmonic equation Δ2u=λexp(u) in Rn, n?5, λ>0 being a parameter. We show that singular radial solutions of the corresponding Dirichlet problem in the unit ball cannot be extended as solutions of the equation to the whole of Rn. In particular, they cannot be expanded as power series in the natural variable s=log|x|. Next, we prove the existence of infinitely many entire regular radial solutions. They all diverge to −∞ as |x|→∞ and we specify their asymptotic behaviour. As in the case with power-type nonlinearities [F. Gazzola, H.-Ch. Grunau, Radial entire solutions for supercritical biharmonic equations, Math. Ann. 334 (2006) 905-936], the entire singular solution x?−4log|x| plays the role of a separatrix in the bifurcation picture. Finally, a technique for the computer assisted study of a broad class of equations is developed. It is applied to obtain a computer assisted proof of the underlying dynamical behaviour for the bifurcation diagram of a corresponding autonomous system of ODEs, in the case n=5.  相似文献
