A paper ionophoretic method is described for the study of equilibria in mixed ligand (nitrilotriacetate-cysteine) complex system in solution. The proportion of ionic species of nitrilotriacetate (NTA) and cysteine were varied by changing the pH of background electrolyte. The stability constants of Cu(II)-NTA-cysteine and Co(II)-NTA-cysteine complexes were found to be 6.35+/-0.05 and 5.45+/-0.02 (logarithm stability constant values), respectively, at ionic strength 0.1 M and a temperature of 35 degrees C.  相似文献

In the present communication the ionophoretic technique has been used for the study of Fe(III), Cu(II), Ni(II), and Co(II)-hippuric acid binary and Fe(III), Cu(II), Ni(II), and Co(II)-hippuric acid-NTA ternary complexes (NTA — nitrilotriacetic acid). The stability constants of metal-hippuric acid binary complexes are found to be 103.54, 102.95, 102.77, and 102.70 and the stability constants of metal-hippuric acid-NTA ternary complexes have been found to be 106.16, 106.06, 106.01, and 105.90 for Fe(III), Cu(II), Ni(II), and Co(II) complexes, respectively, at μ = 0.1 M (HClO4) and 25°C.  相似文献

Binary and ternary complexes of copper(II) involving picolylamine (Pic) and amino acids, peptides (HL) or DNA constituents have been investigated. Ternary complexes of amino acids or peptides are formed by simultaneous reactions. Amino acids form the Cu(Pic)L complex, whereas peptides form Cu(Pic)L and Cu(Pic)(LH–1). The ternary complexes of copper(II) with picolylamine and DNA are formed in a stepwise process, whereby binding of copper(II) to picolylamine is followed by ligation of the DNA components. The stability of the ternary complexes is compared with the stabilities of the corresponding binary complexes. The hydrolysis of glycine methyl ester (MeGly) is catalysed by the Cu(pic)2+ complex. The kinetic data is fitted assuming that the hydrolysis proceeds in two steps. The first step, involving coordination of the amino acid ester by the amino and carbonyl groups, is followed by rate-determining attack by the OH ion. The second step involves equilibrium formation of the hydroxo-complex, Cu(pic)(MeGly)(OH), followed by intramolecular attack.  相似文献

Conclusions A mechanism is proposed for the enantioselective hydrogenation of acetylacetone and ethyl acetoacetate (methyl acetoacetate) over skeletal Cu, Ni, and Co catalysts modified by aromatic amino acids, using stereochemical regularities found for heteroligand Cu, Ni, and Co(II) complexes, with acetylacetone (ethyl acetoacetate) and aromatic amino acids in solution.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Seriya Khimicheskaya, No. 3, pp. 545–551, March, 1980.  相似文献

The electronic absorption spectra of a hydrazone: 2-[2-(4-methylquinolin-2-yl)hydrazono]-1,2-diphenylethanone (BHQ) derived from 2-hydrazino-4-methylquinoline and 1,2-diphenylethan-1,2-dione (benzil) have been studied in various solvents of different polarities. The dependence of the band shift Δύ on the solvent parameters viz. D, Z, ET, DN, AN, α, β and π* was discussed. Also, the effect of pH on the free hydrazone and its Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) complexes was studied spectrophotometrically in 75% (v/v) dioxane–water in order to determine the dissociation and stability constants. The stoichiometry of the formed complexes was determined by three different methods: Job's, mole ratio and slope ratio which indicate the formation of 1:2, M:L complexes for Co(II) and Cu(II) and 1:1, Ni(II):L. Beer's law is valid in the range 0.32–7.04 μg/mL depending on the type of the metal ion. The use of BHQ as an indicator via a spectrophotometric titration of Cu(II) and Ni(II) with EDTA was efficient.  相似文献

In this study, UV–visible spectrophotometry (UV–Vis) and high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) were used for simultaneous analysis of chelating agents diethylenetriamine pentaacetic acid (DTPA), ethylenediamine tetraacetic acid (EDTA), and nitrilotriacetic acid (NTA), as their metal chelates in dishwashing detergents, natural waters, and pulp mill water. The total amounts of the chelating agents in dishwashing detergents were verified by potentiometric titration with Fe(III) solution. Nickel(II) chelates were determined by UV–Vis and iron(III)chelates by HPLC and titration. Recoveries of DTPA, EDTA, and NTA from a standard mixture of analytes by UV–Vis were 107±7, 101±12 and 94±13%, respectively, and the recovery of the total amount of complexing agents was 99±4%. The limits of detection for DTPA, EDTA, and NTA were 667, 324, and 739 mol L–1, respectively. In HPLC measurements the optimized mobile phase contained 0.03 mol L–1 sodium acetate, 0.002 mol L–1 tetrabutylammonium bromide, and 5% methanol at pH 3.15 and the detection was by UV–Vis detection at 254 nm. All three complexing agents could be separated from each other in a simultaneous analysis in less than 5 min. The limits of detection were 0.34, 0.27, and 0.62 mol L–1 for DTPA, EDTA, and NTA, respectively. The total amounts of the analytes measured in the dishwashing detergents by the three techniques were found to be highly comparable (ANOVA: F=0.04, P=0.96). R2 values were 0.99 for EDTA, 0.99 for NTA, and 0.99 for all the results when UV–Vis and HPLC determinations were compared using regression lines. The UV–Vis and HPLC methods were proved to be viable also for analyses of natural and pulp mill waters. The absence of matrix interferences was verified by the standard addition technique.  相似文献

The 17O and 14N paramagnetic transverse relaxation time and chemical shift of proline as well as of water, in aqueous solutions of Co(II), Cu(II) and Mn(II) were measured as a function of pH, temperature, and metal ion concentration. The relaxation results were fitted to a theoretical equation linking the Swift-Connick equation to the stability constants of the major complexes in equilibrium. Stability constants for the major complexes of the three ions in this work were determined, along with thermodynamic parameters for some of the complexes. Two complexes of Co(II) were detected directly by 17O NMR at basic pH, and were assigned to CoPrO2 and CoPro3. The hyperfine coupling constant for these two complexes, A/h, was determined directly from the isotropic shift and was found to be −0.63 and −0.31 MHz, respectively. CoPrO2 could be detected in the pH range 6–12, for Co(II) concentrations greater than 0.04 M, and its chemical shift was around 700 ppm downfield from free proline, at 300 K. CoPro3 was detected only at pH 11, in the temperature range 275–284 K, with a chemical shift of 390 ppm downfield from free proline.  相似文献

Complexing processes in MII-N-diisopropoxythiophosphorylthiobenzamide binary systems (M = Co, Ni, Cu) in metal(II) hexacyanoferrate(II) gelatin-immobilized matrices upon contact with aqueous–alkaline (pH = 12.0 ± 0.1) solutions of organic compounds have been studied. It has been shown that, in CoII and CuII, the initial act of complexing involves destruction of the CoII and CuII hexacyanoferrates(II) by OH ions, leading to formation of the corresponding hydroxides which react with the ligand indicated. In the both systems, successive addition of two ligand molecules per M(OH)2 fragment occurs and [MB(OH)(OH2)] and [MB2] coordination compounds are formed (B-a singly deprotonated ligand form). In the NiII-N-diisopropoxythiophosphorylthiobenzamide system, the formation of three complexes, (Ni2BOH)2[Fe(CN)6], [NiB(OH)(OH2)] and [NiB2] occurs.  相似文献

The [M(HL)2(H2O)2]X2 complexes were synthesized (M = Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn; X = CH3COO, Cl, BF4 ) that incorporate bidentately coordinated molecules of N,N-dimethylhydrazide of 4-nitrobenzoic acid (HL). The latter molecules chelate the metal atom through the carbonyl O atom and the N atom of dimethylamino group. The square-planar complexes of Cu and Ni with deprotonated form of a ligand with composition ML2 were also isolated. The synthesized complexes were studied by IR, electronic and EPR spectroscopies, and by cyclic voltammetry.  相似文献

The stability constants for the binary M(II)- chlorpromazine hydrochloride (CPZ) and the ternary complexes M(II)-chlorpromazine-amino acid, have been studied using pH-measurements. The amino acids (aa) are: glycine, glutamic acid, histidine and the metal ions are: Cu(II), Zn(II), Co(II), Ni(II) and UO2(II). All experiments were carried out in the presence of 0.1 mol dm−3 KNO3. The resulting stability constants of the binary and the ternary complexes were compared. It was observed that the stability of the ternary complexes-except for glutamic acid – are lower than of the binary ones. Received October 22, 1998. Revision March 14, 1999.  相似文献

Flash photolysis of copper (II)–bis(amino acid) complexes (amino acids: glutamic acid, serine, or valine) in deaerated aqueous solution produces transient species having absorption maxima at around 350 nm. The transient species are identified as copper (II)–alkyl complexes. In the case of Cu(valine)2 at pH > 6.5 formation of Cu(II)-alkyl complex is not observed; this is interpreted to be due to the presence of two bulky methyl groups of the coordinated valine ligand, which hinders the rearrangement. Pseudo-first-order rate constants for the decay of the transients are determined at different pH with varying concentration of amino acid ligand. The free-radical species of the complexes responsible for the initiation of the vinyl polymerization reactions are identified as Cu(I)-coordinated amino acid radicals which are formed in the primary photochemical reaction of the complex. A mechanism for the secondary reactions involving the initiating species consistent with the nature of the product formed and the pH dependence of the decay of the transients is proposed.  相似文献

The conditions for the flow determination of Al(III), Bi(III), Cd(II), Co(II), Cr(III), Cu(II), Fe(III), Mn(II), Nd(III), Ni(II), Pb(II), Pr(III), and Zn(II) by reaction with Xylenol Orange in aqueous solutions at pH 4.5 and the determination of Cd(II), Co(II), Cu(II), Fe(II), Ni(II), Pb(II), and Zn(II) by reaction with 4-(2-thiazolylazo)resorcinol in water–ethanol mixtures (5 : 1) at pH 5.0 using an injected sample volume of 80 L were proposed. The limits of detection were n × 10–8n × 10–7 mol/L; the linearity ranges in the calibration graphs were of about three orders of magnitude; the relative standard deviation was of 3–7%.  相似文献

Cyclic voltammetry (CV) and square-wave voltammetry (SWV) techniques have been used to study the binary complexes of Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) with sulfamethazine (SMZ) at a static mercury drop electrode (SMDE) in 0.04 M Britton-Robinson (B-R) buffer. SMZ gave three peaks at 0.01, −1.32 and −1.55 V. Cu(II)-SMZ complex was recognized by a cathodic peak at −0.38 V. Ni(II)-SMZ complex was reduced at more positive potential (−0.77 V) than that of the hydrated Ni(II) ions (−1.08 V). Co(II)-SMZ complex is investigated at pH 7 and 8. The Co(II) complex at pH 7 is appeared as a shoulder at −1.19 V, whereas this peak becomes a well-separated form at pH 8. The study indicated that the SMZ serves as a catalyst in the reduction of Co(II) and Ni(II) ions. From electronic spectra data of the complexes, their stoichiometries of 1: 2 (metal-ligand) in aqueous medium are determined. The stability constants of the complexes are in agreement with the Irwing-Williams series (Co < Ni < Cu).  相似文献

Binary and ternary complexes of copper(II) involving promethazine, N,N-dimethyl-3-(phenothiazin-10-yl)propylamine (Prom) and various biologically relevant ligands containing different functional groups, were investigated. The ligands (L) are dicarboxylic acids, amino acids, amides and DNA constituents. The ternary complexes of amino acids, dicarboxylic acids or amides are formed by simultaneous reactions. The results showed the formation of Cu(Prom)(L) complexes with amino acids and dicarboxylic acids. The effect of chelate ring size of the dicarboxylic acid complexes on their stability constants was examined. Amides form both Cu(Prom)(L) complexes and the corresponding deprotonated species Cu(Prom)(LH−1). The ternary complexes of copper(II) with (Prom) and DNA are formed in a stepwise process, whereby binding of copper(II) to (Prom) is followed by ligation of the DNA components. DNA constituents form both 1:1 and 1:2 complexes with Cu(Prom)2+. The stability of these ternary complexes was quantitatively compared with their corresponding binary complexes in terms of the parameters Δlog10 K. The values of Δlog10 K indicate that the ternary complexes containing aromatic amino acids were significantly more stable than the complexes containing alkyl- and hydroxyalkyl-substituted amino acids. The concentration distribution of various complex species formed in solution was also evaluated as a function of pH. The solid complexes [Cu(Prom)L)] where L=1,1-cyclobutanedicarboxylic acid (CBDCA), oxalic and malonic acid were isolated and characterized by elemental analysis, infrared, TGA, and magnetic susceptibility measurements. Spectroscopic studies of the complexes revealed that the complexes exhibits square planar coordination with copper(II). The isolated solid complexes have been screened for their antimicrobial activities using the disc diffusion method against some selected bacteria and fungi. The activity data show that the metal complexes are found to have antibacterial and antifungal activity.  相似文献

The new Mannich bases bis(1,4-diphenylthiosemicarbazide methyl) phosphinic acid H3L1 and bis(1,4-diphenylsemicarbazide methyl) phosphinic acid H3L2 were synthesised from the condensation of phosphinic acid, formaldehyde with 1,4-diphenyl thiosemicarbazide and 1,4-diphenylsemicarbazide, respectively. Monomeric complexes of these ligands, of general formulae K2[CrIII(L n )Cl2], K3[MnII(L n )Cl2] and K[M(L n )] (M = Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II) or Hg(II); n = 1, 2), are reported. The mode of bonding and overall geometry of the complexes were determined through physico-chemical and spectroscopic methods. These studies revealed octahedral geometries for the Cr(III), Mn(II) complexes, square planar for Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) complexes and tetrahedral for the Zn(II) and Hg(II) complexes.  相似文献

The interaction of bivalent [Cu(II), Ni(II), Zn(II), Co(II), Mg(II), Ca(II)] and trivalent [La(III), Pr(III), Nd(III), Sm(III), Gd(III), Dy(III)] metal ions with thymidine both in binary and ternary systems have been investigated by potentiometric pH measurements at 35°C and 0·10M (KNO2) ionic strength. The secondary ligands used in this investigation were glycine, histidine, histamine,o-phenanthroline and α, α’-bipyridyl. The various stability constants pertaining to the above interactions were computed and compared. The influence of pH on the concentrations of several species present in aqueous solution, has been assessed. The effects of (i) charge on the metal ions, and (ii) the presence of a methyl group on the pyrimidine ring, on the stabilities of complexes have been assessed. A comparison with the corresponding constants of uridine has been made. Thymidine forms more stable complexes than uridine.  相似文献
