We formulate an elementary statistical game which captures the essence of some fundamental quantum experiments such as photon polarization and spin measurement. We explore and compare the significance of the principle of maximum Shannon entropy and the principle of minimum Fisher information in solving such a game. The solution based on the principle of minimum Fisher information coincides with the solution based on an invariance principle, and provides an informational explanation of Malus' law for photon polarization. There is no solution based on the principle of maximum Shannon entropy. The result demonstrates the merits of Fisher information, and the demerits of Shannon entropy, in treating some fundamental quantum problems. It also provides a quantitative example in support of a general philosophy: Nature intends to hide Fisher information, while obeying some simple rules. 相似文献

Fe3+-doped TiO2 composite nanoparticles with different doping amounts were successfully synthesized using sol-gel method and characterized
by X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and ultravioletvisible spectroscopy (UV-Vis) diffuse reflectance
spectra (DRS). The photocatalytic degradation of methylene blue was used as a model reaction to evaluate the photocatalytic
activity of Fe3+/TiO2 nanoparticles under visible light irradiation. The influence of doping amount of Fe3+ (ω: 0.00%–3.00%) on photocatalytic activities of TiO2 was investigated. Results show that the size of Fe3+/TiO2 particles decreases with the increase of the amount of Fe3+ and their absorption spectra are broaden and absorption intensities are also increased. Doping Fe3+ can control the conversion of TiO2 from anatase to rutile. The doping amount of Fe3+ remarkably affects the activity of the catalyst, and the optimum efficiency occurs at about the doping amount of 0.3%. The
appropriate doping of Fe3+ can markedly increase the catalytic activity of TiO2 under visible light irradiation.

Valency is defined for each molecular orbital. The molecular orbital valency values are shown to be a good measure of the bonding nature of the molecular orbital. Comparisons are made with photoelectron spectral studies and Mulliken overlap population analysis.The variation of molecular valency and molecular orbital valency with bond angle is studied. It is found that for all the molecules presently considered, energy is linearly related to valency and that the molecular valency reaches a maximum at the equilibrium bond angle. It is also shown that the molecular orbital valency can serve as a quantitatively reliable ordinate for Mulliken-Walsh diagrams. 相似文献

A comprehensive first‐principles theoretical study of the electronic properties and half‐metallic nature of zigzag edge‐oxidized graphene quantum dots (GQDs) is carried out by using density functional theory (DFT) with the screened exchange hybrid functional of Heyd, Scuseria and Ernzerhof (HSE06). The oxidation schemes include ‐OH, ‐COOH and ‐COO groups. We identify oxidized GQDs whose opposite spins are localized at the two zigzag edges in an antiferromagnetic‐type configuration, showing a spin‐polarized ground state. Oxidized GQDs are more stable than the corresponding fully hydrogenated GQDs. The partially hydroxylated and carboxylated GQDs with the same size exhibit half‐metallic state under almost the same electric‐field intensity whereas fully oxidized GQDs behave as spin‐selective semiconductors. The electric‐field intensity inducing the half metal increases with the length of the partially oxidized GQDs, ranging from M=4 to 7. 相似文献

A polynuclear complex [Cd(endc)(H2O)]n·nH2O (endc = endo-norbomene-cis5,6-dicarboxylate anion) has been synthesized by the hydrothermal reaction of cadmium nitrate tetrahydrate with endo-norbomene-cis-5,6-dicarboxylic acid in 1:1 molar ratio,and structurally characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction.It crystallizes in monoclinic,space group P21/c with a = 1.16471(7),b = 0.95334(7),c = 0.91109(9) nm,Z = 4,V= 1.01035(14)nm3,Dc.= 2.160 g/cm3,μ= 2.172 mm-1,F(000) = 648,R =0.0302 and wR = 0.0752.According to structural analysis,each Cd(Ⅱ) ion is coordinated to six O atoms from three endc anions and one water molecule,giving a distorted octahedral geometry.Two- dimensional layer arrangement of the title complex is constructed from the bridging nature of endc.It is worth notice that adjacent two-dimensional layers are joined together to form a three-dimensional supramolecular framework via intermolecular hydrogen bonding interactions. 相似文献

Grafting of polystyrene with narrowly dispersed polymer microspheres through surface-initiated atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP) was investigated. Polydivinylbenzene (PDVB) microspheres were prepared by dispersion polymerization with poly(N-vinyl pyrrolidone) (PVP) as stabilizer. The surfaces of PDVB microspheres were chloromethylated by chloromethyl methyl ether in the presence of zinc chloride as catalyst to form chloromethylbenzene initiating core sites for subsequent ATRP grafting of styrene using CuCl/bpy as catalytic system. Polystyrene was found to be grafted not only from the particle surfaces but also from within a thin shell layer, resulting in the formation of particles size increased from 2.38-2.58μm, which can further grow to 2.93μm during secondary grafting polymerization of styrene. This demonstrates that grafting polymerization proceeds through a typical ATRP procedure with living nature. All of the prepared microspheres have narrow particle size distribution with coefficient of variation around 10%. 相似文献
