We have calculated the one-neutron absorption cross-section and the longitudinal momentum distribution of the core fragment
coming out from the breakup of 11Be and 19C on 9Be target at 63 MeV/A and 88 MeV/A beam energies respectively. The reaction mechanism is treated within the framework of the
eikonal approximation. The effective range of the nuclear interaction between the core and the valence neutron within the
projectile has been determined by comparing the predicted stripping cross-section with the recently measured one. The effective
range for 19C has been found to be smaller than that for 11Be. It qualitatively indicates that 19C is slightly more halo than 11Be. The smaller width, predicted as well as measured, of the LMD of 18C than 10Be also strengthens this fact. The experimental data concerning the LMD of core fragments have been well represented.

It is shown that the wave functions for isobaric analog, double isobaric analog, configuration, and double configuration states may simultaneously have components corresponding to nn, np, and pp halos. The difference in the halo structure between the ground and excited states of a nucleus may lead to the formation of halo isomers. A halo structure of both Borromean and tango types can be observed for np configurations. The structure of ground and excited states with various isospins in halo-like nuclei is discussed. The reduced probabilities B(Mλ) and B(Eλ) for gamma transitions in 6?8Li, 8?10Be, 8,10,11B, 10?14C, 13?17N, 15?17,19O, and 17F nuclei are analyzed. Particular attention is given to the cases where the ground state of a nucleus does not have a halo structure, but where its excited state may have it. 相似文献

The structure of the halo nucleus 11Be has been studied using the reaction 9Be(11Be,10Be+gamma)X at 60 MeV/nucleon. The ground state structure of 11Be is determined by comparing the experimental cross sections to a calculation combining spectroscopic factors from the shell model with l-dependent single-particle cross sections obtained in an eikonal model. This experiment shows the dominant 1s single-particle character of the 11Be ground state and indicates a small contribution of 0d admixture in the wave function. After correction for the approximately 22% intensity to excited levels, a clean and precise distribution of parallel momentum for knockout from the 1s halo wave function is obtained for the first time. 相似文献

The structure of (15)C, with an s(1/2) neutron weakly bound to a closed-neutron shell nucleus (14)C, makes it a prime candidate for a one-neutron halo nucleus. We have for the first time studied the cross section for the fusion-fission reaction (15)C+(232)Th at energies in the vicinity of the Coulomb barrier and compared it to the yield of the neighboring (14)C+(232)Th system measured in the same experiment. At sub-barrier energies, an enhancement of the fusion yield by factors of 2-5 was observed for (15)C, while the cross sections for (14)C match the trends measured for (12,13)C. 相似文献

The sub-barrier fusion of halo nuclei such as 11Be and 11Li with heavy target nuclei is discussed. The couplings to the soft dipole mode as well as to the break-up channels are taken into account. At barrier energies, the fusion cross section was found to be more than one order of magnitude smaller than that corresponding to the uncoupled problem. We predict new populations of trapped nonequatorial ("halo") orbits of charged dust grains about an arbitrary axisymmetric planet. Simple equilibrium and stability conditions are derived, revealing dramatic differences between positively and negatively charged grains in prograde or retrograde orbits. In the framework of C. Wilson’s hypothesis substantiating a possibility of electric discharge development in the Earth’s atmosphere at high altitudes above thunderclouds, numerical simulations were executed of the discharge exciting the sprite halo with realistic variations of thundercloud dipole moment transferred to the ground by positive lightning discharge. For various values of time and altitude, at which the avalanche-to-streamer transition occurs, optical radiation was calculated in the 1P, 2P, and 1N bands of the nitrogen molecule and Meinel’s band of the N 2 + ion. The calculated brightness and space-time evolution of the luminescence are consistent with the data of the field observations of the halo luminescence. 相似文献

A feature peculiar to light neutron-rich nuclei is that their lowest decay thresholds are only slightly above their ground states. Among them, 6He and 11Li are two most striking examples. The energy needed to break 6He (11Li) into an alpha particle (9Li) and two neutrons is about 1 MeV (300 keV). So small a value prompts one to construct their theory by analogy with the zero-range-nuclear-force approximation previously applied to the deuteron. A more detailed analysis shows, however, that the simple version of this approximation applied to systems that decay through a three-particle channel does not take into account some important features of these systems and requires significant improvements. First, with increasing distance between three particles, the potential energy decreases, in contrast to what is observed for binary systems, in inverse proportion to the hyperradius cubed. Second, the Pauli exclusion principle adds complexity even in the asymptotic domain, and we meet its demands in constructing the 6He and 11Li wave functions in the continuum. An approach is proposed to analyze weakly bound three-cluster systems that takes into account the aforementioned features and which describes correctly the experimentally observed structure of bound and unbound states above the threshold for three-particle decay. 相似文献

From the analogy between the break-up of weakly bound, neutron-rich nuclei and the phenomenon of optical diffraction, it is possible to formulate a model for the momentum distribution of both the core and the valence neutrons of halo nuclei which displays a simple dependence on nuclear structure parameters.
