The combined use of digital holographic microscopy and computer tomography, here named digital holographic micro-tomography, is used to examine the interior of transparent channels. The proposed method is used to identify internal obstacles inside of transparent troughs having slightly different refractive index. The method is based in the acquisition of a set of digital holograms of the specimen whereas it is axially rotated from 0° to 180°. The phase differences retrieved from the obtained holograms are the inputs to a computerised axial tomography procedure. The technique has been numerically modelled in order to find the optimal tomographic conditions and also to realise the minimum difference of refractive index the method could detect. The obtained results show the feasibility of the proposed method for the non-destructive evaluation of transparent micro-objects.  相似文献

A digital particle holographic system for measurements of spray fields is presented. A double exposure hologram recording system with a synchronization system for time control is established, resulting in digital holograms that can be quickly recorded. To process recorded holograms, the correlation coefficient method is used for focal plane determination of particles. To remove noise and improve the quality of holograms and reconstructed images, a Wiener filter is adopted. The two-threshold and image segmentation methods are used for binary image transformation. For particle pairing, the match probability method is adopted. The proposed system is applied to a spray field, and three-dimensional velocities and sizes of spray droplets are measured. Measurement results from the digital holographic system are compared to those made by laser instruments, which prove the feasibility of the proposed in-line digital particle holographic system as a good measurement tool for spray droplets.  相似文献

A digital holographic information system can process complex three-dimensional (3-D) object information. We demonstrate a scheme for securing complex and 3-D information in the context of in-line digital holography. Double random phase encoding in the free-space propagation domain of light is used to secure the complex information. Encrypted in-line digital holograms are recorded using the position-phase-shifting method. The encrypted complex image at the CCD recording plane is retrieved from the real-valued digital holograms, and is used for decryption. The robustness of the method has also been studied for various securing keys used in the method against blind decryption. A layer-by-layer information retrieval from the encrypted digital hologram is also discussed. The method can also be used to secure digital complex information in a virtual optics modality using holographic principles.  相似文献

We present a new method for recording digital holograms under incoherent illumination. Light is reflected from a 3D object, propagates through a diffractive optical element (DOE), and is recorded by a digital camera. Three holograms are recorded sequentially, each for a different phase factor of the DOE. The three holograms are superposed in the computer, such that the result is a complex-valued Fresnel hologram. When this hologram is reconstructed in the computer, the 3D properties of the object are revealed.  相似文献

A novel digital method for tracking position of objects from in-line holograms by using single wavelet coefficient is proposed. In the proposed method, a wavelet transform is used to analyze the holograms. An axial position of the object being studied is determined by using a real value of a resultant wavelet coefficient appears at a center position of interference fringes. A feasibility of this method is experimentally verified by analyzing holograms of an optical fiber.  相似文献

We propose and experimentally demonstrate a simple digital holographic method that allows reconstruction of three-dimensional object images with a narrow depth of focus or axial resolution. A number of holograms are optically generated by use of different wavelengths spaced at regular intervals. The holograms are recorded on a digital camera and reconstructed numerically. Multiwavelength interference of the holograms results in images of the contour plane whose thickness can be made arbitrarily narrow. Objects at different distances from the hologram plane are imaged clearly and independently, with complete suppression of the out-of-focus images. The technique is available only in digital holography and should have useful applications in holographic microscopy.  相似文献

In the present work we have made use of polarization phase shifting in digital holographic microscopy (DHM) for three dimensional phase profiling of transmissive and reflecting microscopic samples. The Mach–Zehnder arrangement with proper polarizing elements (polarizer-masked cube beam splitter, quarter wave plate and a linear polarizer) is used for recording the phase-shifted digital holograms. The suggested procedure is simple and accurate and obviates the need of piezo devices for phase shifting. The phase profile of the specimen is reconstructed from the holograms by using standard phase shifting algorithms.  相似文献

Digitalization enables and expertise storage and transmission of holographic data. However, the reconstructed object image is vulnerable to transmission errors over the noisy channel. We present a novel algorithm of what we believe is the first approach to reduction of noise effects on digital holograms corrupted by transmission errors. To accomplish this work, we exploit new interdependencies on the interference holograms and develop a detection-based algorithm to detect error points and to identify the corresponding interference holograms with the largest errors. In the reconstruction process, the conventional four-step algorithm is used for the recovery of error-free points. In contrast, a three-step algorithm is employed to reconstruct error points by removing the largest error holograms. With accurate detection, the proposed algorithm is capable of recovering the object image from digital holograms with severe transmission errors. It is shown that the proposed algorithm provides much better reconstruction performances than the conventional four-step reconstruction algorithm in an error-prone environment.  相似文献

A novel speckle reduction technique for digital holography is proposed. Multiple off-axis holograms are recorded using a circularly polarized illumination beam and a rotating linearly polarized reference beam. The speckle noise in the reconstructed images is suppressed by averaging these fields. In this paper we it is presented a self-similar image model based on Fractional Brown Motion (FBM), in which the various structure functions and scale dependent Hurst parameters can be choosed to simulate the scale-dependent textures. The method is quite efficient for generation of realistic nature textures and synthesis of digital holograms. Two original methods are proposed here for digital in-line hologram processing. Firstly, we propose an entropy-based method to retrieve the focus plane which is very useful for digital hologram reconstruction. Secondly, we introduce a new approach to remove the so-called twin images reconstructed by holograms. This is achieved owing to the Blind Source Separation (BSS) technique. The proposed method is made up of two steps: an Adaptive Quincunx Lifting Scheme (AQLS) and a statistical unmixing algorithm. The AQLS tool is based on wavelet packet transform, whose role is to maximize the sparseness of the input holograms. The unmixing algorithm uses the Independent Component Analysis (ICA) tool. Experimental results confirm the ability of convolutive blind source separation to discard the unwanted twin image from in-line digital holograms.  相似文献

Optofluidic devices offer flexibility for a variety of tasks involving biological specimen. We propose a system for three-dimensional (3D) sensing and identification of biological micro-organisms. This system consists of a microfluidic device along with a digital holographic microscope and relevant statistical recognition algorithms. The microfluidic channel is used to house the micro-organisms, while the holographic microscope and a CCD camera record their digital holograms. The holograms can be computationally reconstructed in 3D using a variety of algorithms, such as the Fresnel transform. Statistical recognition algorithms are used to analyze and identify the micro-organisms from the reconstructed wavefront. Experimental results are presented. Because of computational reconstruction of wavefronts in holographic imaging, this technique offers unique advantages that allow one to image micro-organisms within a deep channel while removing the inherent microfluidic-induced aberration through interferometery.  相似文献

A digital holographic method that can be used for the simultaneous measurement of slopes of a deformed object in different directions is described in this paper. In this method, two holograms are recorded numerically under the normal and deformed states of the specimen, and two object waves are numerically calculated from these two holograms. The slopes corresponding to different directions are measured by superposing the two object waves with appropriate shifts. It is a superior method in regard to the simple experiment setup, the flexibility in handing the data, and the high quality phase maps.  相似文献

We present a new development of digital off-axis (OA) holography for determining the instantaneous solid particle positions in a flow. This holographic imaging method uses a CCD camera for the simultaneous digital recording of two views of digital Fresnel OA holograms on the same support. The reconstruction is obtained numerically. The method provides two orthogonal views of the same flow area of interest at the same instant. It helps to overcome the depth of focus problem existing for the particle image reconstructions and that is inherent to the method. This method has the advantage of being simpler than the methods presently available, and it does not suffer from the flaws of in-line holographic configuration. Furthermore it is completely digital and thus avoids the cumbersome analysis following hologram recording. Digital holograms and digital reconstructions are obtained for solid particles of 200 mum moving into a stirred flow cell of 5 cm(3).  相似文献

An effective method for reducing the speckle noise in digital holography is proposed in this paper.Different from the methods based on classical filtering technique,it utilizes the multiple holograms which are generated by rotating the illuminating light continuously.The intensity images reconstructed by a series of holograms generated by rotating the illuminating light possess different speckle patterns.Hence by properly averaging the reconstructed intensity fields,the speckle noises can be reduced greatly.Experimental results show that the proposed method is simple and effective to reduce speckle noise in digital holography.  相似文献
