In this paper, a relaxed Hermitian and skew-Hermitian splitting (RHSS) preconditioner is proposed for saddle point problems from the element-free Galerkin (EFG) discretization method. The EFG method is one of the most widely used meshfree methods for solving partial differential equations. The RHSS preconditioner is constructed much closer to the coefficient matrix than the well-known HSS preconditioner, resulting in a RHSS fixed-point iteration. Convergence of the RHSS iteration is analyzed and an optimal parameter, which minimizes the spectral radius of the iteration matrix is described. Using the RHSS pre- conditioner to accelerate the convergence of some Krylov subspace methods (like GMRES) is also studied. Theoretical analyses show that the eigenvalues of the RHSS precondi- tioned matrix are real and located in a positive interval. Eigenvector distribution and an upper bound of the degree of the minimal polynomial of the preconditioned matrix are obtained. A practical parameter is suggested in implementing the RHSS preconditioner. Finally, some numerical experiments are illustrated to show the effectiveness of the new preconditioner.  相似文献

Recently, Bal proposed a block-counter-diagonal and a block-counter-triangular precon- ditioning matrices to precondition the GMRES method for solving the structured system of linear equations arising from the Galerkin finite-element discretizations of the distributed control problems in (Computing 91 (2011) 379-395). He analyzed the spectral properties and derived explicit expressions of the eigenvalues and eigenvectors of the preconditioned matrices. By applying the special structures and properties of the eigenvector matrices of the preconditioned matrices, we derive upper bounds for the 2-norm condition numbers of the eigenvector matrices and give asymptotic convergence factors of the preconditioned GMRES methods with the block-counter-diagonal and the block-counter-triangular pre- conditioners. Experimental results show that the convergence analyses match well with the numerical results.  相似文献

An effective algorithm for solving large saddle-point linear systems, presented by Krukier et al., is applied to the constrained optimization problems. This method is a modification of skew-Hermitian triangular splitting iteration methods. We consider the saddle-point linear systems with singular or semidefinite (1, 1) blocks. Moreover, this method is applied to precondition the GMRES. Numerical results have confirmed the effectiveness of the method and showed that the new method can produce high-quality preconditioners for the Krylov subspace methods for solving large sparse saddle-point linear systems.  相似文献

In this paper we review a number of auxiliary space based preconditioners for the second order definite and semi-definite Maxwell problems discretized with the lowest order Nedelec finite elements. We discuss the parallel implementation of the most promising of these methods, the ones derived from the recent Hiptmair-Xu (HX) auxiliary space decomposition [Hiptmair and Xu, SIAM J. Numer. Anal., 45 (2007), pp. 2483-2509]. An extensive set of numerical experiments demonstrate the scalability of our implementation on large-scale H(curl) problems.  相似文献

In this work, two-grid characteristic finite volume schemes for the nonlinear parabolic problem are considered. In our algorithms, the diffusion term is discretized by the finite volume method, while the temporal differentiation and advection terms are treated by the characteristic scheme. Under some conditions about the coefficients and exact solution, optimal error estimates for the numerical solution are obtained. Furthermore, the two- grid characteristic finite volume methods involve solving a nonlinear equation on coarse mesh with mesh size H, a large linear problem for the Oseen two-grid characteristic finite volume method on a fine mesh with mesh size h = O(H2) or a large linear problem for the Newton two-grid characteristic finite volume method on a fine mesh with mesh size h = 0(I log hll/2H3). These methods we studied provide the same convergence rate as that of the characteristic finite volume method, which involves solving one large nonlinear problem on a fine mesh with mesh size h. Some numerical results are presented to demonstrate the efficiency of the proposed methods.  相似文献

In this paper, we propose a local multilevel preconditioner for the mortar finite element approximations of the elliptic problems. With some mesh assumptions on the interface, we prove that the condition number of the preconditioned systems is independent of the large jump of the coefficients but depends on the mesh levels around the cross points. In this paper, we introduce a concept of quasi C-lower semicontinuity for setvalued mapping and provide a vector version of Ekeland's theorem related to set-valued vector equilibrium problems. As applications, we derive an existence theorem of weakly efficient solution for set-valued vector equilibrium problems without the assumption of convexity of the constraint set and the assumptions of convexity and monotonicity of the set-valued mapping.We also obtain an existence theorem of ε-approximate solution for set-valued vector equilibrium problems without the assumptions of compactness and convexity of the constraint set.  相似文献
