We demonstrate the spatial homogenization of intense laser pulses by adaptive minimization of spatial chirp of the spectrally
broadened output pulses of a filament. A liquid-crystal-based two-dimensional spatial light modulator is used to control the
spatial phase of the driver pulse. An evolutionary algorithm finds the optimal spatial laser phase distribution that introduces
minimal distortions during filamentation and enhances the beam quality of the output pulse. A homogeneous intensity distribution
favours efficient temporal compression close to the bandwidth limit without the need for spatial filtering after the filament.

The spatial chirp generated in the Ti:sapphire multipass amplifier is numerically investigated based on the onedimensional(1D) and two-dimensional(2D) Frantz–Nodvik equations. The simulation indicates that the spatial chirp is induced by the spatially inhomogeneous gain, and it can be almost eliminated by utilization of proper beam profiles and spot sizes of the signal and pump pulses, for example, the pump pulse has a top-hatted beam profile and the signal pulse has a super-Gaussian beam profile with a relatively larger spot size. In this way, a clear understanding of spatial chirp mechanisms in the Ti:sapphire multipass amplifier is proposed, therefore we can effectively almost eliminate the spatial chirp and improve the beam quality of a high-power Ti:sapphire chirped pulse amplifier system. 相似文献

We report on an ytterbium-doped fiber chirped-pulse amplification (CPA) system delivering millijoule level pulse energy at repetition rates above 100 kHz corresponding to an average power of more than 100 W. The compressed pulses are as short as 800 fs. As the main amplifier, an 80 microm core diameter short length photonic crystal fiber is employed, which allows the generation of pulse energies up to 1.45 mJ with a B-integral as low as 7 at a stretched pulse duration of 2 ns. A stretcher-compressor unit consisting of dielectric diffraction gratings is capable of handling the average power without beam and pulse quality distortions. To our knowledge, we present the highest pulse energy ever extracted from fiber based femtosecond laser systems, and a nearly 2 orders of magnitude higher repetition rate than in previously published millijoule-level fiber CPA systems. 相似文献

在千焦拍瓦高功率放大系统设计中,激光脉冲的时空和光谱整形技术一直受到人们的广泛关注。利用反应离子束刻蚀等微纳超精细加工而成的多层电介质结构反射镜可在高功率条件下实现啁啾脉冲的光谱整形。在光谱整形介质结构反射镜的设计与制造中,需要根据要求的反射率来合理提出反应离子束刻蚀误差容限指标。推导出反应离子束刻蚀误差容限的解析表达式。针对神光Ⅱ千焦拍瓦高功率放大系统设计中提出的多层介质光谱调制反射镜,分析了调制结构反射镜各层加工的容许误差,确定了反应离子束刻蚀误差容限指标。研究表明:刻蚀高折射率介质的加工误差容限为35 nm;刻蚀低折射率介质的加工误差容限为62 nm。此外,还从使用需要和加工难易的角度,对刻蚀方案进行了讨论。就加工难易程度而言,优选反应离子束刻蚀方案,且采用刻蚀并残留低折射率介质的方案更容易实现。 相似文献

Based on a modified cross-correlation technique, we experimentally demonstrate a technique for measuring the spatial–temporal intensity of laser pulses. Pulse widths at different spatial positions of the ultrashort pulse are measured by changing the scan position of the probe beam. Due to the existence of residual chirp in the transverse position, pulse widths at the center of the beam are less than that at the edge. By measuring the temporal evolution in the fastest growth area of spatial intensity during small-scale self-focusing, we find that its pulse width decreases as power increases because of the spatial–temporal coupling effect. The results show that this method not only can be used to accurately measure the pulse width at any one spatial position of the beam, but can also be useful for real-time monitoring of the spatial–temporal evolution. 相似文献

We studied the evolution of wavefront aberration(WFA) of a signal beam during amplification in a Ti:sapphire chirped pulse amplification(CPA) system. The results verified that the WFA of the amplified laser beam has little relation with the change of the pump beam energies. Transverse parasitic lasing that might occur in CPA hardly affects the wavefront of the signal beam. Thermal effects were also considered in this study, and the results show that the thermal effect cumulated in multiple amplification processes also has no obvious influence on the wavefront of the signal beam for a single-shot frequency. The results presented in this paper confirmed experimentally that the amplification in a Ti:sapphire CPA system has little impact on the WFA of the signal beam and it is very helpful for wavefront correction of single-shot PW and multi-PW laser systems based on Ti:sapphire. 相似文献

采用分步法结合Hankel变换对修正薛定谔方程进行数值求解,通过数值计算对飞秒脉冲在非线性正色散介质中的自聚焦特性进行了简要分析。在此基础上,针对啁啾脉冲放大系统(CPA)中的啁啾高斯脉冲,对其全光束自聚焦特性进行了计算模拟和分析讨论。研究结果表明,群速度色散(GVD)对大啁啾脉冲的影响很小,谱宽对自聚集的影响可以忽略。因此,具有大啁啾的脉冲在非线性正色散介质中的自聚焦特性不同于飞秒脉冲,而与纳秒脉冲相似。 相似文献

Modelling and analysis have been performed to show a link between laser collimation tolerances and dispersion effects in chirped pulse amplification (CPA) compressors. These show that an un-collimated beam can present itself as residual dispersion in a CPA system which uncorrected will have adverse effects on laser power and intensity. The techniques of shearing interferometry and beam propagation over large distances for setting beam collimation have been assessed for their limitations in measuring wavefront radii. An analysis of the sensitivity of CPA systems to non-collimated beams has been studied. This effect has been practically demonstrated for a high-power Nd:glass laser and the best techniques for alignment are discussed. 相似文献

提出采用具有能量啁啾电子束的自由电子激光放大器放大啁啾脉冲,分析说明了它的工作机理和滑移现象对其的影响。采用研制的1维非定态程序GOFEL-P,对能量啁啾自由电子激光放大器放大啁啾脉冲的过程进行了数值模拟和分析,计算了不同啁啾参数的脉冲被放大后的腔外压缩情况。结果表明:与单能电子束时相比,能量啁啾自由电子激光可以放大具有更大啁啾参数的啁啾脉冲,使压缩后的脉冲峰值功率增大至568 GW,脉冲宽度缩短至2.29 fs,大幅增强自由电子激光放大啁啾脉冲以及腔外压缩脉冲的效果。 相似文献

When femtosecond laser pulses interfere with chirped femtosecond laser pulses in As2S3 fiber, a chirped fiber grating is formed. An analytical expression is given to describe the chirped grating, and its Bragg reflectivity is calculated. Because of the high photosensitive effect of As2S3 material, the chirped fiber grating has a wide Bragg reflective spectrum and high reflectivity by choosing proper parameters. This indicates that the chirped fiber grating can be used as a stretcher in the femtosecond chirped pulse amplification (CPA) system. 相似文献

We study pulse propagation across a boundary that separates an ordinary medium from a medium with simultaneously negative dielectric permittivity and magnetic permeability. Solving Maxwell’s equations with two spatial coordinates (one longitudinal, one transverse) and time we find negative refraction as the wave packet undergoes significant and unusual shape distortions. The pulse acquires and maintains a chirp as it traverses the interface, as expected, but with a sign that is opposite to the chirp attained upon traversal into a positive-index material. Both a direct calculation of the spatial derivative of the instantaneous, local phase of the pulse and a Fourier analysis of the signal reveal the same inescapable fact: that inside a negative-index material, a transmitted, forward-moving wave packet is indeed a superposition of purely negative wave vectors. The central findings of this paper are a confirmation that causality is not violated in the short-pulse regime, and that energy and group velocities never exceed the speed of light in vacuum. 相似文献

超强激光脉冲与相对论电子束相互对撞是当前主要的强场量子电动力学(QED)实验手段。如何测量超强激光脉冲和电子束对撞的准确度,进而实现微米精度的准确对撞,是目前限制实验发展的重要因素。利用蒙特卡罗数值模拟方法,系统研究了超强激光脉冲和相对论电子束相互对撞过程,重点关注了电子和辐射光子动力学信息与激光脉冲和电子束对撞偏移量之间的对应关系。研究发现:辐射光子的空间分布信息,可以有效反映出激光脉冲和电子束的对撞偏移量。基于该研究结果,实验中可利用光子空间分布的信息,实现对激光脉冲和电子束对撞准确度的调节,从而有望促进强场QED实验技术的发展。 相似文献

为了解决单脉冲激光诱导击穿光谱(LIBS)技术在元素分析时空间分辨本领与分析灵敏度之间的矛盾,本文利用一台双波长输出的Nd∶YAG激光器开展了双波长激光剥离-激光诱导击穿光谱(LA-LIBS)技术的研究。其中532 nm的二倍频激光用于剥离样品;1 064 nm的基频激光通过大芯径石英玻璃光纤传输并实现一定的延时后用于击穿被剥离的样品。两束激光采用正交几何配置以实现高空间分辨高灵敏的元素分析。实验研究了1 064 nm激光到光纤的耦合、光纤输出后的准直以及再聚焦时的一些关键技术问题。研究并得出了四种不同光纤对激光能量的传输能力。选择利用芯径为800 μm,数值孔径为0.39、长50 m的石英玻璃光纤成功传输了15 mJ的调Q激光脉冲并实现了250 ns的延时。并在此基础上开展了铜合金样品的双波长LA-LIBS分析,实验验证了基于一台Nd∶YAG激光器开展双波长LA-LIBS研究的可行性。该技术只需要一台激光器就可以完成相应的光谱分析,具有系统结构简单,便于小型化等优点,适合对不同样品开展原位的高空间分辨高灵敏的元素显微分析。 相似文献
