2+2] Condensation of two moleculars of 2,5-bis-(m-formylphenyl- 1,3,4-oxadiazole with two moleculars of diamines (ethylenediamine, diethylenetriamine and o-phenylenediamine) yield macrocyclic polyamines 4, 5 and 7 respectively. The reversible intercon- version of 5 and 6 has been established by ^1^3C NMR. The complex 8 was obtained from the reaction of 5 with Ba(ClO~4)~2 in CH~2Cl~2-H~2O.
