Methane Aromatization in the Absence of Oxygen Over Mo/H[B]ZSM-5 Catalysts

Abstract:The catalytic performance of Mo/HB]ZSM-5 has been investigated for methane non-oxidative aromatization and compared with that of a Mo/HAl]ZSM-5 catalyst. It is found that the non-oxidative aromatization of methane proceeds only in the presence of weak acidic sites without the participation of strong acidic sites. Coke is found to be the main cause of the rapid decrease in the activity of Mo/HB]ZSM-5 catalysts.
