Crystallization behaviour of blends of poly(N-methyldodecano-12-lactam) (PMDL) with statistical copolymer poly(styrene-stat-acrylic acid) (PSAA) has been studied by the DSC and WAXD methods. The blend films prepared from dioxane solutions were crystallized at laboratory temperature for five days. Approximate crystallinities of as-prepared neat lower- PMDL 5 and higher-molecular weight PMDL 45 were 28% and 19%, respectively. With increasing PSAA content in the blends the crystallinities decreased sharply. The melting point of the primary crystalline structure of PMDL showed a decreasing dependence on PSAA content in the blends, confirming miscibility of the PMDL-PSAA pair. Recrystallization was strongly suppressed in the blends. The lower-melting endotherm appearing at about 10-15 °C above the crystallization temperature was attributed to melting to less perfect structures formed during secondary crystallization. In neat PMDL, the extent of secondary crystallization was approximately 5-10%. In the blends containing 20% PSAA approximate relative proportion of secondary crystallites on total crystallinity was 40% and 60% for the blends with PMDL 5 and PMDL 45, respectively. WAXD measurements did not reveal any change in crystal modification on blending. Increased Tg in blends of flexible PMDL cannot play a significant role in suppression of primary in favour of secondary crystallization. This was attributed to low mobility of PMDL chains due to dilution effect and specific interactions with the amorphous copolymer component, and, in case of the higher-molecular-weight PMDL, a greater involvement of entanglements. Higher Tg of blends was involved in retardation of non-isothermal crystallization on cooling and subsequent cold crystallization.  相似文献

In this paper, we demonstrate a kind of broadband metamaterial perfect absorber using both graphene and metal resonator elements. Through step by step design and simulation, wider absorption band from about 4.22 THz to 7.48 THz with average absorption rate up to 98.21% is achieved in the absorption spectrum. In addition, the absorber has characteristics of polarization insensitivity and wide incident angle due to its inherent rotational symmetry. Moreover, the absorption band can be adjusted by changing the chemical potential of the graphene. The superiorities of broadband, high absorption rate, polarization independent and wide-angle characteristics make it have potential application prospects in electromagnetic wave absorbing, signal sensing and detection, and other optoelectronic devices.  相似文献

用小角/广角X射线散射(SAXS/WAXS)联用的实验方法考察了等温结晶温度(Tc)和等温时间对聚(ε-己内酯)(PCL)片晶形态的影响.根据WAXS数据计算了PCL的重量结晶度,进而求得其体积结晶度Vc(WAXS).在不同Tc下结晶的PCL样品的Vc(WAXS)均略高于50%.对SAXS谱线做一维相关函数(1DCF)分析,得到了PCL的片晶长周期(LP)和无定形层厚度(La).通过比较WAXS及SAXS的数据分析结果,认为PCL晶体需用"三相模型"予以描述,其过渡层厚度(E)约为LP的15%~18%,对片晶形态具有重要影响.随着Tc升高,PCL晶体的Lc、La及E均逐渐增大,但Lc的变化率最大,这使得结晶度上升.在50℃等温结晶不同时间,发现Lc随延长时间显著增加,而La及E则不断减小.等温10天后,PCL晶体的SAXS谱线上可观察到5级散射,表明片晶相当完善.  相似文献

At the NIST Center for Neutron Research (NCNR), we have applied 3He neutron spin filters (NSFs) to the instruments where 3He NSFs are advantageous, such as thermal triple-axis spectrometry, small-angle neutron scattering, and diffuse reflectometry. We present the status of our development and application of this method, including polarized gas production by spin-exchange optical pumping, magnetostatic cavities for storage of the polarized gas on the beam line, and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR)-based, on-line monitoring and reversal of the 3He polarization. We present the status of developing user-friendly interfaces incorporated into the instrument software to handle these 3He neutron spin filters while taking data and performing data analysis. Finally we discuss the status of development of a polarization capability on the multi-axis crystal spectrometer, which requires polarization analysis over a 220° angular range.  相似文献

The crystalline phase transition of aliphatic nylon 10/10 has been investigated on the basis of the simultaneous measurement of wide-angle and small-angle X-ray scatterings, the infrared spectral measurement and the molecular dynamics calculation. An interpretation of infrared spectra taken for a series of nylon samples and the corresponding model compounds was successfully made, allowing us to assign the infrared bands of the planar-zigzag methylene segments reasonably. As a result the methylene segmental parts of molecular chains were found to experience an order-to-disorder transition in the Brill transition region, where the intermolecular hydrogen bonds are kept alive although the bond strength becomes weaker at higher temperature. The small-angle X-ray scattering data revealed a slight change in lamellar stacking mode in the transition region. The crystal structure has been found to change more remarkably in the temperature region immediately below the melting point, where the conformationally disordered chains experienced drastic rotational and translational motions without any constraints by hydrogen bonds, and the lamellar thickness increased largely along the chain axis. These experimental results were reasonably reproduced by the molecular dynamics calculation performed at the various temperatures.  相似文献

Horsetail (Equisetum spp.) is known as one of the strongest accumulators of silicon among higher terrestrial plants. We use the combination of position-resolved analytical techniques, namely microtomography, energy-dispersive X-Ray elemental mapping, Raman microscopy, as well as small-angle and wide-angle scattering of X-rays, to study the type, distribution and nanostructure of silica in the internodes of Equisetum hyemale. The predominant silicification pattern is a thin continuous layer on the entire outer epidermis with the highest density in particular knob regions of the long epidermal cells. The knob tips contain up to 33 wt% silicon in the form of pure hydrated amorphous silica, while the silica content is lower in the inner part of the knobs and on the continuous layer. In contrast to the knob tips, the silica in these regions lacks silanol groups and is proposed to be in close association with polysaccharides. No mentionable amount of crystalline silica is detected by wide-angle X-ray scattering. The small-angle X-ray scattering data are consistent with the presence of colloidal, sheet-like silica agglomerates with a thickness of about 2 nm. From these results we conclude that there are at least two distinct forms of silica in E. hyemale which may have different functions. The close association of silica with cell wall polymers suggests that they may act as a polymeric template that controls the shape and size of the colloidal silica particles similar to many other biominerals and mineralised tissues. We propose that owing to its specific distribution in E. hyemale, a protective role and possibly also an important biomechanical role are among the most likely functions of silica in these plants. In the present study, attempts are made to throw light on the mechanisms leading to primary nucleation in polymer crystallization. Previous studies in this field are not conclusive. Aiming to investigate the induction period prior to crystallization, time-resolved simultaneous small- and wide-angle X-ray scattering (SAXS and WAXS) measurements have been made in situ for polyamide 6,6, while it was crystallized from the melt. For this polymer, it is confirmed that at a low supercooling (ΔT≈28°C), during the induction period, a well-resolved SAXS pattern appears. The time evolution of this scattering pattern can be described by the kinetics of spinodal decomposition, as previously reported for the glass crystallization of PEKK and TPI. According to this analysis, a value for the most probable scattering vector q of density fluctuations at around 0.43 nm?1 is found. It corresponds to a characteristic wavelength of 14.7 nm of long-range density fluctuations growing with time.  相似文献
