Special solutions of the Hartree-Fock (HF) problem for Coulomb interacting electrons described by a simple model of the Cu-O planes in La2CuO4 are presented. One of the mean field states obtained, is able to predict some of the most interesting properties of this material, such as its insulator character and the antiferromagnetic order. The natural appearance of pseudogaps in some states of this material is also indicated by another of the HF states obtained. These surprising results follow after eliminating spin and crystal symmetry restrictions usually imposed on the single particle HF orbitals, by employing the rotational invariant formulation of the HF scheme originally introduced by Dirac. Therefore, it is exemplified here, how up to know considered strong correlation effects, can be described by improving the HF solution of the considered system. In other words, it has been argued, that defining correlation effects as the ones shown by the system and not predicted by the HF best (lowest energy) solution, allows to explain important, up to know considered as strong correlation properties, as simple mean field ones. The discussion also helps to clarify the role of the antiferromagnetism and pseudogaps in the physical properties of the HTSC materials and indicates a promising way to start conciliating the Mott and Slater pictures in the physics of the transition metal oxides and other strongly correlated electron systems.  相似文献

The effect of polarization-matched AlGaInN electron-blocking layer and barrier layer on the optical performance of blue InGaN light-emitting diodes is numerically investigated. The polarization-matched AlGaInN electron-blocking layer and barrier layer are employed in an attempt to reduce the polarization effect inside the active region of the light-emitting diodes. The simulation results show that the polarization-matched AlGaInN electron-blocking layer is beneficial for confining the electrons inside the quantum well region. With the use of both polarization-matched AlGaInN electron-blocking layer and barrier layer, the optical performance of blue InGaN light-emitting diodes is greatly improved due to the increased overlap of electron and hole wavefunctions. The method proposed in this paper can also be applied to the light-emitting diodes operating in other spectral range.  相似文献

The existence of ferromagnetism in Zn-Mn-O semiconductor samples and dependence on the preparation condition were investigated. We systematically examined the samples with manganese concentration ranging from 0 to 10 at.%, prepared by a solid state reaction route using (ZnC2O4·2H2O)1−x and (MnC2O4·2H2O)x as precursors. Thermal treatment was carried out in air at temperatures ranging from 400 to 900 °C. The samples were investigated by X-ray diffraction, transmission electron microscopy, magnetization measurements and XPS spectroscopy. XPS surface composition, chemical analysis and depth profiling were successfully employed on powder revealing the chemical composition at the surface of the grains and underneath. The present investigation suggests that physical properties and observed room temperature ferromagnetism might be due to grain surface effects. It seems that the ferromagnetic phase is correlated with oxygen build up at the surface.  相似文献

The well-known Fraunhofer multi-slit diffraction is described as the multi-slit interference modulated by the singleslit diffraction, namely the multiplication between the single-slit diffraction factor and the multi-slit interference factor. By considering the simplified argument we show that the multi-slit diffraction of evanescent waves which are in the near-field region also has the interference and diffraction effects, and that this two-fold effect can be expressed as the convolution of the diffraction factor and the interference factor. Our conclusion could be helpful to understand the contribution of evanescent waves to the optical responses of sub-wavelength structures such as slits and grooves.  相似文献

Using the first-principles methods, we study the electronic structure, intrinsic and extrinsic defects doping in transparent conducting oxides CuGaO2. Intrinsic defects, acceptor-type and donor-type extrinsic defects in their relevant charge state are considered. The calculation result show that copper vacancy and oxygen interstitial are the relevant defects in CuGaO2. In addition, copper vacancy is the most efficient acceptor. Substituting Be for Ga is the prominent acceptor, and substituting Ca for Cu is the prominent donors in CuGaO2. Our calculation results are expected to be a guide for preparing n-type and p-type materials in CuGaO2.  相似文献

High resolution photoemission measurements are carried out on non-superconducting LaFeAsO parent com- pound and various superconducting RFeAs(O1-ZFx) (R=La, Ce and Pr) compounds. It is found that the parent LaFeAsO compound shows a metallic character. By extensive measurements, several common features are identified in the electronic structure of these Fe-based compounds: (1) 0.2 eV feature in the valence band, (2) a universal 13-16 meV feature, (3) near EF spectral weight suppression with decreasing temperature. These uni- versal features can provide important information about band structure, superconducting gap and pseudogap in these Fe-based materials.  相似文献

A new class of static plane symmetric solution of Einstein field equation generated by a perfect fluid source is put forward. A special family of this new solution is investigated in detail. The constraints on the parameters by different energy conditions are studied. The classical stability of this solution is discussed. Relativistic energy loss and photon emission in the interaction of a coated sphere containing a left-handed material with an external electron beam are studied based on the classical electrodynamics. Both of electric modes and magnetic modes are not only found in the spectra of energy loss and photon emission for different combinations of electron velocity and sphere radius, the new excitation modes can be also observed. Our results show that different excitation modes for the left-hand materials and the structure information of coated sphere can be explored by scanning transmission electron microscopy (STEM).  相似文献

By introducing a discrete spectral problem, we derive a lattice hierarchy which is integrable in Liouville's sense and possesses a multi-Hamiltonian structure. It is show that the discrete spectral problem converges to the well-known AKNS spectral problem under a certain continuous limit. In particular, we construct a sequence of equations in the lattice hierarchy which approximates the AKNS hierarchy as a continuous limit.  相似文献
