Large π-conjugated systems are key in the area of molecular materials. Herein, we prepare via AuI-catalyzed cyclization a series of fully π-conjugated anthracene-fused oligo-BODIPYs. Their structural and optoelectronic properties were studied by several techniques, ranging from X-ray, UV/Vis, and cyclic voltammetry to transient absorption spectroscopy. As a complement, their electronic structures were explored by means of Density Functional Theory (DFT) calculations. Depending on the size and shape of the π-conjugated skeleton, unique features—such as face-to-face supramolecular organization, NIR absorption and fluorescence as well as strong electron accepting character—were noted. All in all, the aforementioned features render them valuable for technological applications.  相似文献

Global attention is increasingly focused on the adverse health and environmental impacts of textile dyes, marking the necessity for effective and sustainable dye remediation strategies in industrial wastewater. This study introduces a novel, eco-friendly activated carbon produced from olive stones (OLS), a readily available by-product of the olive oil industry. The OLS was chemically activated with H3PO4 and KOH, creating two materials: OLS-P and OLS-K, respectively. These were then utilized as cost-effective adsorbents for the removal of methylene blue (MB) dye. The activated materials were characterized via X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infra-red spectroscopy (FTIR), iodine number, and pHpzc analysis, with the zero-point charge determined as approximately pH 1 for OLS-P and pH 8 for OLS-K. Batch adsorption experiments conducted at various temperatures revealed that adsorption process followed the pseudo-second-order kinetic model and the Langmuir isotherm model. Temperature was found to significantly impact adsorption performance, with OLS-K demonstrating a substantial increase in adsorption capacity (qe) from 6.27 mg/g at 23˚C to 94.7 mg/g at 32 ˚C. Conversely, OLS-P displayed a decrease in qe from 16.78 mg/g at 23 ˚C to 3.67 mg/g at 32 ˚C as temperature increased. The study highlights the potential of KOH-treated olive stones as a promising, cost-efficient adsorbent for methylene blue remediation from wastewater.  相似文献

Tetraazacoronenes were synthesized from bay-functionalized tetraazaperylenes by Zr-mediated cyclization and four-fold Suzuki–Miyaura cross coupling. In the Zr-mediated approach, an η4-cyclobutadiene-zirconium(IV) complex was isolated as an intermediate to cyclobutene-annulated derivatives. Using bis(pinacolatoboryl)vinyltrimethylsilane as a C2 building block gave the tetraazacoronene target compound along with the condensed azacoronene dimer as well as higher oligomers. The series of extended azacoronenes show highly resolved UV/Vis absorption bands with increased extinction coefficients for the extended aromatic cores and fluorescence quantum yields of up to 80 % at 659 nm.  相似文献

Shortwave infrared (SWIR) dyes are characterized by their ability to absorb light from 900 to 1400 nm, which is ideal for deep tissue imaging owing to minimized light scattering and interference from endogenous pigments. An approach to access such molecules is to tune the photophysical properties of known near-infrared dyes. Herein, we report the development of a series of easily accessible (three steps) SWIR xanthene dyes based on a dibenzazepine donor conjugated to thiophene ( SCR-1 ), thienothiophene ( SCR-2 ), or bithiophene ( SCR-3 ). We leverage the fact that SCR-1 undergoes a bathochromic shift when aggregated for in vivo studies by developing a ratiometric nanoparticle for NO ( rNP-NO ), which we employed to successfully visualize pathological levels of nitric oxide in a drug-induced liver injury model via deep tissue SWIR photoacoustic (PA) imaging. Our work demonstrates how easily this dye series can be utilized as a component in nanosensor designs for imaging studies.  相似文献

The functionalization of π-conjugated scaffolds with sterically demanding substituents is a widely used tactic to suppress cofacial (H-type) stacking interactions, which may even inhibit self-assembly. Contrary to expectations, we demonstrate herein that increasing steric effects can result in an enhanced thermodynamic stability of H-type supramolecular polymers. In our approach, we have investigated two boron dipyrromethene (BODIPY) dyes with bulky phenyl ( 2 ) and mesityl ( 3 ) meso-substituents and compared their self-assembly in nonpolar media with that of a parent meso-methyl BODIPY 1 lacking bulky groups. While the enhanced steric demand induces pathway complexity, the superior thermodynamic stability of the H-type pathways can be rationalized in terms of additional enthalpic gain arising from intermolecular C−H⋅⋅⋅F−B interactions of the orthogonally arranged aromatic substituents, which overrule their inherent steric demand. Our findings underline the importance of balancing competing non-covalent interactions in self-assembly.  相似文献

A modified synthetic pathway towards perylene-perylene dimers and a facile purification method to obtain the regioisomerically pure syn- and anti-isomers are reported. In addition, a novel perylene-naphthalene heterodimer with 30 conjugated π-electron pairs was designed and synthesized on the basis of a previously described precursor and the resulting regioisomers were separated from each other. Thereby, the opto-electronic properties of the linearly elongated chromophores could be investigated regarding the differences in length of their aromatic system and the configuration of the isomers. Further tuning of their energy gaps was realized via protonation and methylation of the dibenzimidazole-bridging unit. Extraordinary red-shifts of the absorption maxima of 62 nm for the methylated and 92 nm for the protonated perylene-perylene anti-isomer could be achieved. Moreover, the maxima for the syn-isomer could be shifted bathochromically by 87 and 113 nm, respectively.  相似文献

Abstract

Fluorescence spectra and lifetimes of ovalbumin labeled with a variety of fluorescent reagents have been measured. The peak positions of the emission spectrum and the long wavelength band of the excitation spectrum as well as the fluorescence lifetimes, are tabulated. Heterogeneity of binding sites is shown by the broadness of some emisison spectra and the presence of multiexponential decay. The atlas may serve as a guide to the properties of these dyes attached to proteins in general.  相似文献

In this study, a new type of a double-layer ceramic membrane was used for the filtration of wastewater. The synthesized membrane consists of a macroporous substrate (with pore size of about 0.1 μm) prepared following the colloid filtration technique and a thin film functional layer (with pore size of about 10 nm) carried out according to the sol–gel preparation method.The ceramic membranes were tested for the removal of cadmium, zinc, Methylene Blue and Malachite Green from water under a pressure of 5 bar and a treatment time of 2 h. Liquid filtration and flow tests through these membranes resulted in a rejection rate of 100% for Methylene Blue and Malachite Green. This paper also presents the ability of the tubular membrane prepared to separate heavy metals (cadmium and zinc) from their synthetic aqueous solutions. The influence of the applied pressure, feed solute concentration, feed pH on the rejection of cadmium and zinc ions was studied. Retention rates of cadmium and zinc ions of 100% were observed for an initial feed concentration of 10−4 mol/L.  相似文献

The synthesis, IR, 31P NMR and cyclic voltammetry characterizations of new Wells–Dawson-type heteropolyanions that contain iron, HFe2.5P2W18O62, 23H2O and HFe2.5P2W12Mo6O62, 22 H2O, are reported. The catalytic activity of these compounds was evaluated through the oxidation of methyl violet dye, by hydrogen peroxide. The influence of different parameters such as the initial pH, the initial H2O2 concentration, the catalyst mass, and the initial dye concentration have been studied.  相似文献
