Nanoscience research aims to produce nanoparticles without adverse effects for medical applications. The pulsed laser ablation (PLA) technique was utilized in this study to synthesize gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) using bovine serum albumin (BSA) in simulated body fluid (SBF) at the fundamental wavelength of the Nd: YAG laser (1064 nm). BSA acted as a stabilizer, reducing and capping agent to produce spherically shaped AuNPs (diameter 3–10 nm). The successful synthesis of AuNPs was confirmed through color changes and UV–vis spectroscopy. The agglomeration and precipitation of AuNPs are attributed to the presence of BSA in the solution, and electrostatic repulsion interactions between BSA and Au nanoclusters. The effect of salt concentration of SBF on BSA stability as well as the interaction of BSA conjugated AuNPs to form complexes was studied using molecular dynamic simulations. Our results show that the stability of AuNPs-BSA conjugates increase with the salt concentration of BSA. Moreover, the synthesized AuNPs exhibit low toxicity and high biocompatibility, supporting their application in drug delivery. Investigation of the cytotoxic effect of the synthesized AuNPs show that normal fibroblast cells (L929) remain intact after treatment whereas a dose-dependent inhibition effect on the growth of cervix cancer cells (HeLa) is observed. In general, this study presents an effective, environmentally-friendly, and facile approach to the synthesis of multifunctional AuNPs using the PLA technique, as a promising efficacious therapeutic treatment of cervical cancer.  相似文献

Five metals (Zn, Cu, Ni, Ti, and Mo) were irradiated with 150 shots of a Q-switched Nd:YAG pulsed laser in a vacuum of 10−3 torr. The ions projected out of the laser-produced plasma (LPP) plume were detected by CR-39 detectors positioned at −15°, 0°, 30°, 60°, and 90° with respect to the target-surface normal at a distance of 5 cm from the target in each case. The angular distribution of LPP ions, which is characterized by the exponent n of cosn θ distribution, is given by n = 2.5-11 for the five target metals. The value of the exponent n has no systematic correlation with the square-root of atomic mass of the target metals but exhibits systematic dependence on the room temperature Debye-Waller's thermal parameter B or the mean-square amplitude of atomic vibrations 〈u2〉. Likewise, the ablation yield (atoms/shot) of the twelve target metals investigated by Thestrup et al. (2002) [8] under identical irradiation conditions is a function of the room temperature B-factor or 〈u2〉.  相似文献

The ablative properties of hydrogenated nitrile butadiene rubber (HNBR) composites filled with fumed silica, organically modified montmorillonite (OMMT), or expanded graphite (EG) were examined. The HNBR/OMMT composite has the lowest linear ablation rate and the highest mass ablation rate and does not tend to be carbonized. On the other hand, the HNBR/EG composite has the highest linear ablation rate and the lowest mass ablation rate, and is prone to carbonization. The ablative properties of the HNBR/silica composite are between those of HNBR/OMMT and HNBR/EG. From the viewpoint of thermal shielding capability, the HNBR/OMMT has the best ablation resistance. Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) on different HNBR composites indicated that the filler type has no significant effect on the thermal stability of the composites. To understand the ablation mechanisms, the char layers of different HNBR composites after ablation experiments were characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy disperse X-ray spectroscopy (EDS), and wide-angle X-ray diffraction (WAXD). The results showed that the porosity in the char layers of the HNBR/OMMT composite was the highest and the corresponding structure was the loosest of the three composites. The montmorillonite (MMT) dispersed in HNBR experienced phase transition, melting and vaporization when exposed to the flame with the temperature over 2000 °C. Fumed silica only melted at such situation. On the other hand, the EG kept their original crystalline structures after the ablation test. Based on these results, the effect of the filler type on the ablation mechanisms of the HNBR composites was discussed.  相似文献

Protected by the host cells, the hidden intracellular bacteria are typically difficult to kill by common antibiotics and cannot be visualized without complex cellular pretreatments. Herein, we successfully developed a bacteria-metabolizable dual-functional probe TPEPy-d -Ala, which is based on d -alanine and a photosensitizer with aggregation-induced emission for fluorescence turn-on imaging of intracellular bacteria in living host cells and photodynamic ablation in situ. Once metabolically incorporated into bacterial peptidoglycan, the intramolecular motions of TPEPy-d -Ala are inhibited, leading to an enhanced fluorescent signal, which allows the clear visualization of the intracellular bacteria. Moreover, TPEPy-d -Ala can effectively ablate the labeled intracellular bacteria in situ owing to covalent ligation to peptidoglycan, yielding a low intracellular minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) of 20±0.5 μg mL−1, much more efficient than that of a commonly used antibiotic, vancomycin.  相似文献

Aluminum nanoparticles were synthesized by pulsed laser ablation of Al targets in ethanol, acetone, and ethylene glycol. Transmission Electron Microscope (TEM) and Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) images, Particle size distribution diagram from Laser Particle Size Analyzer (LPSA), UV-visible absorption spectra, and weight changes of targets were used for the characterization and comparison of products. The experiments demonstrated that ablation efficiency in ethylene glycol is too low, in ethanol is higher, and in acetone is highest. Comparison between ethanol and acetone clarified that acetone medium leads to finer nanoparticles (mean diameter of 30 nm) with narrower size distribution (from 10 to 100 nm). However, thin carbon layer coats some of them, which was not observed in ethanol medium. It was also revealed that higher ablation time resulted in higher ablated mass, but lower ablation rate. Finer nanoparticles, moreover, were synthesized in higher ablation times.  相似文献

In this paper the combined integral method is applied to a simple one-dimensional ablation problem. One of the drawbacks of heat balance integral methods is how to choose the approximating function. It is common to use a polynomial form but even then it is not clear what the power of the highest order term should be. Previous studies have determined exponents either from exact solutions or from expansions valid over short time scales; neither approach is satisfactory nor very accurate for larger times. We combine the heat balance and refined integral methods to determine this exponent as part of the solution process, and conclude that it is in fact time-dependent in the ablation stage. From comparing the approximate solutions with numerical and exact analytical solutions whenever possible, we show that this new method greatly improves the accuracy on standard methods, without overcomplicating the method.  相似文献

Laser processing of glass is of significant commercial interest for microfabrication of precision optical engineering devices. In this work, a laser ablation enhancement mechanism for microstructuring of glass materials is presented. The method consists of depositing a thin film of aluminum on the front surface of the glass material to be etched. The laser beam modifies the glass material by being incident on this front-side. The influence of ablation fluence in the nanosecond regime, in combination with the deposition of the aluminum layer of various thicknesses, is investigated by determining the ablation threshold for different glass materials including soda-lime, borosilicate, fused silica and sapphire. Experiments are performed using single laser pulse per shot in an air environment. The best enhancement in terms of threshold fluence reduction is obtained for a 16 nm thick aluminum layer where a reduction of two orders of magnitude in the ablation threshold fluence is observed for all the glass samples investigated in this work.  相似文献

研究了五种不同组合的固态氢同位素靶丸H2、HD、D2、DT 和T2 在聚变等离子体中的消融率。结果表明, 燃料靶丸的同位素效应, 可导致更深的靶丸消融物质沉积。在同样的本底等离子体条件和弹丸初始参数下, 注入氚丸比氢丸的穿透深度增加约40%。适度减轻一些ITER 的加料困难。进一步的研究表明从中平面高场侧注入靶丸对芯部加料有显著改善。考虑托卡马克非均匀磁场的影响, 被电离的消融云内的垂直漂移电流产生极化, 引起带电消融物沿大半径方向朝外漂移。数值模拟计算表明, 只要用初始速度为每秒几百米的低速弹丸, 便能使靶丸的消融物质沉积到ITER 等离子体中心。  相似文献

The potentials of two advanced laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) techniques which are used to determine the total carbon content in soils have been examined. The first one is the combination of a single-pulse laser ablation with spark excitation of plasma plume triggering the gap between electrodes close to the target surface. The second one is a more conventional double-pulse LIBS. In both modes the calibration graphs have a nonlinear trend in the actual range of carbon contents and present a good R2 value (0.97). In the combined laser-spark approach, using low-cost and portable laser instrumentation is possible, as well as inducing a micro-damage on the target surface. Certain regularities in the spectral line intensities of soil nutritious elements have been detected and appear to be connected to the total carbon content and to the soil origin.  相似文献
