The authors consider the difference of Reidemeister traces and difference cochain of given two self-maps,and find out a relation involving these two invariants.As an application,an inductive formula of the Reidemeister traces for self-maps on a kind of CW-complex,including spherical manifolds is obtained.     

On a difference equation of the second order with an exponential coefficient

This paper is devoted to a generalization of some previous results, as we completely solve a linear homogeneous difference equation of the second order with an exponential coefficient.

We investigate the existence of unbounded solutions and the period-two convergence of solutions of the equation in the title with the parameter γ positive, the remaining parameters nonnegative, and with nonnegative initial conditions.     

Existence and multiplicity results for periodic solutions of nonlinear difference equations

We use Brouwer degree to prove existence and multiplicity results for the periodic solutions of some nonlinear second-order and first-order difference equations. We obtain, in particular upper and lower solutions theorems, Ambrosetti–Prodi type results and sharp existence conditions for nonlinearities which are bounded from below or above.     

Asyptotics for linear difference equations I:basic theory

We present here a unified treatment of asymptotic theory of linear difference equations. This is based on anadapted theory of discrete dichotomy. The obtained results narrow the gap between Poincarés Theorem and (the discrete analoue of) Levinson's Theorem.     

Liouville–Green (WKB) asymptotics for almost-diagonal linear second-order matrix difference equations

A Liouville–Green (or WKB) asymptotic approximation theory is developed for a class of almost-diagonal (‘asymptotically diagonal’) linear second-order matrix difference equations. Rigorous and explicitly computable bounds for the error terms are obtained, the asymptotics being made with respect to both, the index and some parameter affecting the equation. The case of the associated inhomogeneous equations is also considered in detail. Some examples and a number of applications are presented for the purpose of illustration.     

Dimension polynomials of difference local algebras

We extend the concept of the difference dimension polynomial of a difference field extension to difference local algebras. The main theorem of the paper establishes the existence and form of the dimension polynomial associated with the localization of a finitely generated well-mixed difference algebra at a prime reflexive difference ideal.
