One-pot Synthesis,Crystal Structures and Antimicrobial Activities of Two New 1,4-Disubstituted 1,2,3-Triazole-4-Carboxylates

Two new 1,4-disubstituted 1,2,3-triazoles-4-carboxylates were synthesized via click reaction. Compound 1a was synthesized by the interaction of 6-nitro-tetrazolo[1.5-a]-pyridine with ethyl propynoate at room temperature in the presence of Cu(OAc)2 as a catalyst and THF as solvent. Compound 1b was also synthesized by the same manner except that tert-butyl propionate, instead of ethyl propynoate, was used. The compounds were characterized by IR, 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR and single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. Compound 1a(C10H9N5O4) crystallizes in the triclinic system, space group P1 with a = 5.0894(9), b = 8.9834(13), c = 13.089(2) ?, α= 83.041(7), β= 80.256(7), γ=87.296(8)°, V = 585.24(16)?3, Z = 2, Mr = 263.22, crystal size(mm) = 0.37 × 0.20 ×0.18,(I 2σ(I)) = 8557, 2493, 1229, Rint = 0.057. Compound 1b(C12H13N5O4) crystallizes in the monoclinic system, space group P21/c with a = 6.8854(5), b = 21.783(2), c = 9.3986(8) ?,β = 93.239(4)°, V = 1407.4(2)?3, Z = 4, Mr = 291.27, crystal size(mm) = 0.38 × 0.22 × 0.20,(I 2σ(I)) = 11842, 3172, 1866, Rint = 0.047. Antimicrobial assay results showed that the title compounds display excellent activities to different bacterial and fungal strains.     

Diethoxyphosphinyl acetic acid hydrazide: a uniquely versatile reagent for the preparation of fused [5,5]-, [5,6]-, and [5,7]-3-[(E)-2-(arylvinyl)]-1,2,4-triazoles

Diethoxyphosphinyl acetic acid hydrazide is a unique reagent that provides a convenient and efficient process to prepare fused [5,5]-, [5,6]-, and [5,7]-3-[(E)-2-(arylvinyl)]-1,2,4-triazoles from aldehydes and alkoxyimines. The process involves three steps without isolation of any intermediates to afford 1,2,4-triazoles in modest to excellent overall yield.     

Triazole: the Keystone in Glycosylated Molecular Architectures Constructed by a Click Reaction

The copper(I)‐catalyzed modern version of the Huisgen‐type azide–alkyne cycloaddition to give a 1,4‐disubstituted 1,2,3‐triazole unit is introduced as a powerful ligation method for glycoconjugation. Owing to its high chemoselectivity and tolerance of a variety of reaction conditions, this highly atom‐economic and efficient coupling reaction is especially useful for the effective construction of complex glycosylated structures such as clusters, dendrimers, polymers, peptides, and macrocycles. In all cases the triazole ring plays a key role by locking into position the various parts of these molecular architectures. The examples reported and briefly discussed in this short review highlight the use of this reaction in carbohydrate chemistry and pave the way to further developments and applications.

Microwave‐Assisted Palladium‐Catalyzed Direct Arylation of 1,4‐Disubstituted 1,2,3‐Triazoles with Aryl Chlorides

Treatment of 1,4‐disubstituted 1,2,3‐triazoles with aryl chlorides in the presence of potassium carbonate under palladium catalysis and microwave irradiation at 250 °C for 15 min leads to arylation of the triazole at the 5‐position. A variety of functional groups, including ester and hydroxy groups, are compatible. The procedure is suitable for the regioselective preparation of trisubstituted triazoles. Microwave irradiation accelerates the reaction, thus allowing the rapid synthesis of trisubstituted triazoles, which are difficult to synthesize selectively.     

Substituted and fused spiro[benzo-2-azepine-3,1′-cyclohexanes]

5-Methyl-4,5-dihydro-3H-spiro[benzo-2-azepine-3,1-cyclohexane] N-oxide was rear- ranged into 5-methyl-1-oxo-1,2,4,5-tetrahydro-3H-spiro[benzo-2-azepine-3,1-cyclohexane]. The latter was used for the synthesis of spiro{triazolo[3,4-a]- and-tetrazolo[5,1-a]benzo-2- azepinecyclohexanes}.Published in Russian in Izvestiya Akademii Nauk. Syntheses based on 8-substituted 3-bromoacetyl-3,8-dimethyl-2,7-dioxaspiro[4,4]nonane-1,6-diones

By reaction of 8-substituted 3-bromoacetyl-3,8-dimethyl-2,7-dioxaspiro[4,4]nonane-1,6-diones with thiourea and substituted thioureas under Hansch reaction conditions, we have obtained the novel heterocycles 3-[2′-amino(arylamino)thiazol-4-yl]-3,8-dimethyl-2,7-dioxaspiro[4,4]nonane-1,6-diones. By reacting the above-indicated bromoacetyl spirodilactones with 5-aryl-3-mercapto-1,2,4-triazoles, we obtained 8-substituted 3-(aryl-3,8-dimethyl-1′,2′,4′-triazol-3′-yl)thioacetyl-2,7-dioxaspiro[4,4]nonane-1,6-diones. __________ Translated from Khimiya Geterotsiklicheskikh Soedinenii, No. 1, pp. 123–129, January, 2006.     

A one‐pot method for synthesis of reduced graphene oxide‐supported Cu–Cu2O and catalytic application in tandem reaction of halides and sodium azide with terminal alkynes

Reduced graphene oxide (RGO)‐supported Cu–Cu₂O nanocomposite material (Cu‐Cu₂O@RGO) was prepared through a one‐pot reflux synthesis method. The morphology, crystal structure and composition of the prepared Cu‐Cu₂O@RGO were characterized using transmission electron microscopy, X‐ray diffraction, and X‐ray photoelectron, infrared and Raman spectroscopies. Cu‐Cu₂O@RGO as a heterogeneous catalyst was applied to tandem reactions of halides and sodium azide with terminal alkynes to synthesize effectively 1,4‐disubstituted 1,2,3‐triazoles. Moreover, the catalyst showed excellent recyclability performance with very little leaching of the metal. Compared with homogeneous catalysts, Cu‐Cu₂O@RGO as a green and efficient catalyst was recoverable, easy to separate and highly stable in the tandem method for the synthesis of 1,2,3‐triazole compounds.     

Structure–Property Relationships in Click‐Derived Donor–Triazole–Acceptor Materials

To shed light on intramolecular charge‐transfer phenomena in 1,2,3‐triazole‐linked materials, a series of 1,2,3‐triazole‐linked push–pull chromophores were prepared and studied experimentally and computationally. Investigated modifications include variation of donor and/or acceptor strength and linker moiety as well as regioisomers. Photophysical characterization of intramolecular charge‐transfer features revealed ambipolar behavior of the triazole linker, depending on the substitution position. Furthermore, non‐centrosymmetric materials were subjected to second‐harmonic generation measurements, which revealed the high nonlinear optical activity of this class of materials.
